I reckon I had the best nights sleep I have had in 7 months last night, dh said I was climbing all over the bed in my sleep. Got work until lunch now and then off out over night, going to be s mad rush though as I will only have an hour once I get back to pack and bath before we have to leave as that was my plan to do it last night.

Glad you're l feeling better memphis . What's the secret to the best sleep? I could do with some magic!

Oh and I am counting the third trimester from 26 weeks. I figure because I will have an elcs at 39 weeks, each trimester should be 13 weeks long Smile. Waiting until 28 weeks to count the change allows for you to go 2 weeks overdue (14 week trimesters to 42 weeks)

Yay to being home, Memphis, happy news!

Had my MW appointment yesterday, all good. She was brilliant when I raised the issue of ELCS, she listened to my take on the research and my reasons for requesting one. She even agreed that with my history, it would be the safest option for both me and baby. So I've been referred to a consultant, but with the warning that I will have to push - HARD.

I know it's a really sensitive subject and one that I feel weird commenting on as a FTM, but I'm also firmly in the camp of 'my body my choice'.

25 weeks today and feeling a bit low to be honest - I've come so far, yet still so far to go.

Glad your appointment went well frenetic and good to hear your midwife is on your side. I hope you have an understanding consultant too.

I'm so pissed off at how much my body is struggling this time round. I think it's my own fault for being so unfit normally. I can't even walk very far without getting nasty tummy pains now. Getting really short of breath too. I remember all this first time but not until much later on.

Got a birthday party to go to tonight at the cricket club which is going to be full of drunken idiots. Would much rather watch X factor.

I must stop moaning!!

Hope you're feeling ok today memphis

I bought bottles and steriliser today. Slowly ticking stuff off the baby list!
Baby has been a bit quiet today, only moving when prodded so have been a bit worried but has woken up a bit this evening, so not quite so worried!!

bang I feel the same feel so crap this time round.
frenetic I totally agree your body your choice. I would really stick to my guns and push what I want if I was you. my friend got told all this bullshit to try and scare her from having one but she stuck to her guns and got a date.

i am in a hotel in Brum after celecbrating my friends bday watching strippers....had a thigh of a nan called tyson with gold teeth wrapped around my neck. had a laugh eventhough its not my 'thing' left them in a bar and come back for a cuppa and raided vending machine Grin

Been admitted to hospital. Came because pain was so bad with UTI and after several tests and a swab they've decided I'm at risk of pre term labour so want to keep me in at least until I'm pain free. Can't stop crying. Just want my oh with me. Just had a huge steroid injection in my bum. God it hurts and got another one in the morning.

Report
sandulacek · 02/11/2014 05:17

Morning? Been up for last hour and half so decided to get up and attempt some sleep later when my DH goes to the gym.

donkir I'm sorry to hear that. Did they do a cervix scan? Hope you're getting some sleep although it can be difficult on a labour ward! How far are you? You're in the best place but I'm sure all will be fine! Keep strong Flowers !

Report
Memphisbelly · 02/11/2014 06:05

donkir hope they sort you quickly and you get to go home soon.also hope you are in less pain now. x

purpleteapig · 02/11/2014 06:37

Sorry you're in hospital donkir - hope you feel better and can leave soon. I had to have those steroid injections last time - they are so painful!

Went to a fireworks display last night and my toddler accidentally clouted me over the head with a big glo stick. For some reason it just set me off on a huge crying fit - it did hurt but not to that extent! Husband looked quite alarmed at my hormonal outburst!

Report
GeekyHybrid · 02/11/2014 06:50

I hope you've managed some sleep donkir and that the pain has eased. Being at the hospital is crap but it is the best place to be able to know exactly what's happening with junior. Thanks

sand my sleep patterns all over the shop too Sad Seems daft but if I come home from work and nap early evening when OH is good at waking me after 45 mins or so, I then sleep through the night. If I stay awake all day and evening then I'm awake at 2ish, 5ish... It makes no sense whatsoever!

Report
donkir · 02/11/2014 06:54

Well that was the worst nights sleep ever. Don't think nurses know how to be quiet!
Sand they did a cervical swab and put it in this machine that calculated my hormones. It then comes up with a % on how likely you are to go in to labour.
Did feel for the other 2 ladies in my room getting rudely awoken at 1am by nurse switching light on.

Morning everyone.

Sorry to hear about your stay in hospital donkir do you have any results or feedback as of yet?

I managed to sleep really well last night, only because I made DP sleep on the sofa (he stayed at the party later)! He disturbs me so much every night and if it's not him it's DD, so I think I must have been so tired from having night after night of being disturbed. DD is still asleep too.

Glad you had a good time in the end memphis your post made me laugh, I take it you mean man instead of a nan?!

Report
Memphisbelly · 02/11/2014 07:46

bang yes man..... how funny a nan called Tyson!

Report
LittleMissSunshine33 · 02/11/2014 09:02

Oh Donkir poor you! UTIs are awful without that worry too! Hope the injections help.

6 months pregnant this month where has that time gone!!!

Report
Viperama · 02/11/2014 09:47

Donkir how are you doing this morning? Sending prayers that all tests come back okay and you and your little one can go home and keep growing and get a good nights sleep.

So the ap I've been using says I'm in my third trimester today at 26 weeks. Whoop whoop!

Report
sandulacek · 02/11/2014 09:53

I might try that geeky . Anything really. My problem is that when I wake up to ho to the toilet, thankfully just once a night, I can't fall asleep. Yet I wake every time I turn from left to right etc and manage to continue to sleep (it's a massive operation thanks to my massive support pillow Hmm ).

Donkir how interesting, they did a scan with me looking how long my cervix was at 22 weeks, didn't know they can do the swab being a FTM. How high % did it come? Hope the pain eased a bit and OH is able to be there with you.

Report
Grinningcat · 02/11/2014 10:08

Sorry to hear that donkir. Hope you aren't in long and get home to your own bed and no nurses soon.

Off to get a car sear today and pick up the new storage pod for our pushchair as the original one was cracked when we got it out the box. Then lunch out with ILs for my SIL's birthday. Not quite sure what to wear as my maternity wardrobe is limited to office wear and casual. They may have to take me as they find me.

Still need to choose between the maxi cosi cabriofix and pebble. I'm leaning towards the cabriofix as it's cheaper and I just can't see why the pebble is better for us. Will see if the ladies in the shop can tell me.

Report
donkir · 02/11/2014 10:28

I'm doing ok this morning thank you ladies.
My % came back at 8% chance of going into labour in the next 2 weeks and 14% chance before 32 weeks. Doesn't sound particularly high but enough where they want to keep an eye on me.
Hopefully as all my pain has gone it should only be a max of 48hrs and not the week they originally said. Just waiting on the doctors to do their rounds. Not sure if I'll need extra monitoring I'm already under the consultant.

morning all
Donkir- hope you're doing OK- even though it sucks, I'm sure you're in the best place

Yesterday I walked around Bluewater with a massive arse ache, feeling sorry for myself. Sciatica very much sucks, but is a small problem compared to some. Went to a halloween party for a couple of hours then came home for hot chocolate

Memphis- I'm with you on the strippers- Have actually made my excuses for someone's birthday next week because I didn't think I could cope with strippers while sober- it's bad enough when I'm drunk!!

Five days until physio. It cannot come quick enough!

Hope the doctor lets you go home Donk.
I had the worst nights sleep, couldn't drop off and was waking every hour when I did finally fall asleep. The bloody cat was playing all night, I'm gonna lock her out if she's not careful!
I'm back to work today after 9 days off, going to be hard!!
