Sharing is caring frenetic! Heaven knows I've shared enough about my anatomy since May!!

BanglesSpangles · 21/11/2014 11:27

haha- blank, I feel the same way- no amount of information is TMI in my opinion :D

Viperama · 21/11/2014 11:30

Omg Frenetic when I first read your post I thought you meant baby not mothercare delivery - lol. I was having a mini freak out on your behalf Shock

Have builders in installing railings to staircase up to roof terrace. Previously no protection at all, so was a bit of a child/old/drunken person trap.
The drills are shaking the entire building, poor cats and pea in my pod!!

hanflan · 21/11/2014 11:51

Frenetic that's mean, you know we love a bit of TMI on here! :D

freneticfox · 21/11/2014 12:35

Bangles so far it's mainly in my favour - it helped that my physio was visibly (and audibly!) shocked at the state of my hips. I bloody well told them I've got old woman hips.

Aw since you all love TMI SO much ;)

I have haemorrhoids (I had internal already before pregnancy, now they're just... there...) and I've noticed a fair amount of mucous when I have a bowel movement. Some people on Dr Google reckon it's normal, others say it's the sign of the impending apocalypse and must be investigated ASAP. Nonetheless, will mention it to MW!

hanflan · 21/11/2014 12:43

Oh haemorroids.... JOYS! I have a recurring fissure which is horrific in itself but last week a nice pile decided to join the party. I found the Anusol suppositries (sp?) did the trick. No idea about the mucous though, maybe your bum is trying to lube the passage up to ease things a bit?! haha

I went to the mw this morning for anti-d bit turns out they booked me in too early for that so I have to go back in 2 weeks.
The good thing was the mw said she'd do my next set of bloods while I was there, and then asked if I had anything to ask. I mentioned the off the scale measurements I had from my appt with the community mw so she managed to get a quick scan with a dr. Had to wait a while but glad I did as turns out Junior is actually bang on for their measurements apart from their long legs. Glad to know, and also baby is still lying horizontally.

Also turned out they'd forgotten to book my glucose test so I've got that and anti-d to look forward to in the same week now.

purpleteapig · 21/11/2014 13:13

No such thing as TMI :)! Although, this might sound weird but I don't think I'd know what a haemorrhoid was, especially if it was internal...how do you know you have them if you can't see them?

Have you guys all been weighed regularly at your appointments? I've not been weighed since my 12 week scan and don't own scales at home, so no idea how many pounds i've piled on. Maybe ignorance is bliss (she says, scoffing down a chocolate eclair for lunch).

PeppermintInfusion · 21/11/2014 13:19

Purple, I wasn't even weighed at my first one, the mw just asked me if I knew what weight I was before getting pregnant. I think they only weigh if you seem to be getting really big.

Memphisbelly · 21/11/2014 13:31

Purple I only got weighed at booking in but I hop on when I see the scales about in the room.

Frenetic I too thought 2nd Dec was baby arriving for a minute there Shock so when do you find out if they will give you a section for sure?

Jack mine it I have a real fear of cuts/scars/blood. Also hate being out of control and hospital stays so there is no way I can stay 3 days after baby is here. i had a stroke at 21 and refused to stay in I used to go all day and be collected each night as I was so over stressed about being in hospital. I spent weeks of last pg in hospital but only way they could keep me in was to keep me high on morphine. My friend loved her section, was walking with pushchair and hoovering on day 4 I am just petrified of they whole package.
Had to have keyhole surgery at 28 weeks last time and I went into such shock waiting to go in it nearly got called off they just had to drug me up before putting me to sleep. It is all very silly on the outside but its one thing I have major anxiety about.
Also logistics of it are dh will most likely be working away from 2nd week with no help for school run which is up a massive hill. My inlaws will not help at all, and my family all work crazy hours.

hanflan · 21/11/2014 13:34

purple You just know if you have them, internal or not. They itch, they bleed, they are often sore when you sit down, painful to poop.... I found mine felt pretty much the same when it was internal and when it popped out! Niiiiice :D

hanflan · 21/11/2014 13:35

Oh and also, I have not been weighed at ANY point during my antenatal care! MV asked me how much I weighed at my booking in appt, and then hasn't even mentioned it since!

JacktheLab · 21/11/2014 13:47

Memphis, that's rubbish Hmm I will have fingers thumbs and other bits crossed that baby turns for you!

Memphisbelly · 21/11/2014 13:54

Thank you jack I annoy myself with my silly weirdness towards blood etc a lot of people just think I can suck it up and get on with it, I just know how beyond stressed it will makes me...but also understand if they need to do it I have no choice

BanglesSpangles · 21/11/2014 13:56

Aah mucousy poo- i have suffered from that when ive been a bit bunged up for any length of time... could it be that

Also, my own personal TMI- i squeezed too much last night and have what can only be described as a small tail now- hoorah for bum grapes :D

BanglesSpangles · 21/11/2014 14:05

and in addition...
I've not been weighed since the booking in appointment, just keeping track at home

and memphis- I completely feel for you on the irrational weirdness- one of my reasons for wanting a home birth is a ridiculous fear that someone in hospital will try and tape something to my body and I won't be able to cope (stickers, plasters, medical tape- even post it notes make me want to heave!) - I really annoy myself because its such a stupid thing to freak out over, but you just can't help it!

Memphisbelly · 21/11/2014 14:17

Bangles I am glad you are on this thread because it makes me feel less irrational. Are you opting for home birth then? Would a birthing center refrain from sticking stuff on you?

Feel sorry for you all who have piles. The bleeding I had last week was bad enough abd luckily that passed after a few days. I did Grin at bum grapes though

Memphisbelly · 21/11/2014 14:19

Bangles also what do you do about tape after blood tests? The nurse insisted on me having cotton wool taped on my arm when I said oh dont worry about it, i don't understand why the do it im more hairy that ever and it pulls on the bloody wookie arm hair Grin

Minichuch · 21/11/2014 15:01

I Grin at the bum grapes too - sure wonder what my work think in office by myself and occasionally they just hear my laughing

I'm not overly struck on hospitals - think I have white coat syndrome - my blood pressure raises everytime I go - I aren't looking forward to the birth - the thought of being stuck on hospital for hours upon end just makes my skin crawl

BanglesSpangles · 21/11/2014 15:53

Memphis-I had this very problem on monday- she tried to stick the cotton wool on me!... i explained I was fine and would rather not... then she tried again- Explained I had a bit of a funny thing about sticky things. Then she tried to offer me a plaster, at which point I started backing away protesting in a vaguely hysterical voice. I ended up just having to sit there until I'd proven I'd stopped bleeding :D. It really does make me feel ridiculous!

The birth centre is too close to the mere possibility of sticky stuff, so I've decided I'm going to try to stay at home! We only live about 500 yards from the front door of the hospital, so I feel close enough that if anything does go wrong, I won't have far to go. The more I look into it the more I like the idea, so fingers crossed it works out!

Memphisbelly · 21/11/2014 15:59

Bangles I don't get why they stick it on it doesn't (usually) gush blood, I had to peel mine straight off to prove to ds I was ok seems a waste of resources to me.
Make sure your mw knows your concerns and adds them to your white book so you don't have to explain it over and over. I was very sensitive last time about not being able to breastfeed and told her just being asked made me feel like a bad mother so she highlighted the page and wrote in big letters 'Formula feeding do not discuss reasons' and the pnly thing they asked was what brand I had chose so thry could collect a bottle of it. They could add it to birthing part of white book and even staple a note to the front of it.

BanglesSpangles · 21/11/2014 16:07

Oh man, I really should, shouldn't I.. to be honest, it just makes me feel like such a nobber for getting worked up about it that I hate bringing it up (which leads to me trying not to shriek at phlebotomists and stuff)

You're right though- big girl time- discuss your fears, if you're not going to face them!

Memphisbelly · 21/11/2014 16:18

But telling one mw will be so much easier than if you did need to go into hospital to have the baby and you cannot put your energy into getting baby out for having to keep explaining yourself to every mw that walks past....think about me, we will be doing it together as I need to explain to my mw my fear of c section with breech baby next Weds Grin (will be a virtual handhold)

BanglesSpangles · 21/11/2014 16:34

Grin hoorah for virtual hand holding

sandulacek · 21/11/2014 16:52

I think I'm in denial about how much I need to get ready for Feb and about the whole birth thing Hmm . I did some research about the c section last week as there's a good chance that's what's going to happen and was freaking out.

I was just asked about my weight in my booking appt, nothing since.

No news here, lovely dinner with friends last night...yummy Chinese and pedicure today. Much easier when someone does it for you Grin. Putting on tights is a choir let alone cutting your toe nails!

High time to make a decision about the pram! A visit to Bluewater planned for the weekend!
