Argh I posted earlier but my phone seems to have eaten it again! I am also not always enjoying this pregnancy. I'm so excited about having another kid and I love feeling all the kicks but the way everything is just that much more effort really gets to me after a while. These days I feel like I can't really get on with my day without being conscious of what I can and can't do most of the time.

As for nursery furniture for DS we had a chest of drawers with a changer on top and a cot. We also had a bookcase that just ended up with random odds and ends on it too. We will probably do similar for DD as well although we won't buy anything until we've moved to our new house when she's a few months old.

So, it turns out I was wrong to think my bump pain yesterday was at all linked to the child walking in to me. It was due to (ahem) too many dried apricots having a field day with my bowels (really sorry for WAY tmi). Without them I think my bowels would be permanently on strike but I still sometimes forget the level of their effectiveness.

Sooo ready for my day off tomorrow! Exhausted! Hope everyone is having a good weekend x

thingsarelookingup · 15/11/2014 18:47

Just been to a third birthday party this afternoon and I've been reminded of how different your experience of parenthood can be depending on the temperament of your kids. There were 2 second children that really stood out to me. 1 was a strong willed whirlwind and his mum never gets to sit down and is permanently exhausted. His mum said having 2 means needing eyes in the back of your head. And 1 was a calm and content little girl whose mum said having 2 was easier than having 1. But if I get the whirlwind I'm going to try to remember that a kid that is easy at one age is not necessarily easy at another. Ahhh who am I kidding I'll be totally jealous of the mum's with chilled kids!!

longbottom · 15/11/2014 21:44

Things my DD is the most lovely, kind hearted child you could ask for!
I'm dreading what this one will be like as punishment!!
I have bought all big things for baby now, just diddly stuff like clothes and nappies left now!!
I also started my Xmas shopping today!

Memphisbelly · 15/11/2014 22:38

Things I think all kids are different but also some of it is down to the parenting, if parent one wasn't up and down to her kids from day one would they be different? Ds used to fall over and lie there thinking about crying and I either ignored it or told him to get up (bad mummy maybe?) he quickly learnt that he wasn't going to get me dusting him down, he also knows if he cannot do things for himself or get on with things we go home/ he doesn't get it. I have a family member who has a child that at 3 has only just started feeding themselves and still doesn't walk down stairs or play alone. They say it is exhausting but when she is with me she just gets on with it knowing I won't follow her around......saying all this ds is very easy in some ways, he is independent, was not a fussy baby, but he only slept through from 3, had problems with his tummy for first 2 years so its swings and roundabouts...would orefer a sleeper that is a bit naughty this time tbh Grin

I have a tmi I went toilet earlier and passed a lot of blood from the back end.....I am hoping it was a one off maybe due to these pain meds I am on, mum wants me to call mw but I for some weird reason am embarrassed Blush didn't even want to tell dh but he knew something was up as I was white as a sheet.

JacktheLab · 16/11/2014 08:01

Memphis, you should get it checked out, could be piles but could be something more serious, am sure it's fine though :)

Our three year old is going through an argumentative phase, sigh! I think personally there is some nature and some nurture in kids behaviour, some kids are wilful and challenging, however good the parenting is, sometimes it's just the luck of the draw. I do think how you parent these kids can really help too though.

I'm getting very tired these days had to have a lie down last night after dinner! I have two Xmas cakes, mincemeat and a bunch of batch cooking to do, so I'm going to be on my knees by tonight I think!

blankfornames · 16/11/2014 08:11

Memphis, mightn't be any harm in giving them a quick buzz. I'm sure they'll know what it is & put your mind at rest in an instant.
I found some joyous sore bulges back there yday. Think it's the start of varicose veins. They are only going to get worse.
All good apart from having another fainting episode yday. I didn't actually faint but had I not Sat down at that instant, I was a gonner. Quite unnerving when it happens.
Anyone else get this?

Memphisbelly · 16/11/2014 08:15

If it happens again I wil go docs with it.

Jack I agree with nature/nurture all kids have certain phases but some phases will pass and some will stick due to how it is acted upon, I have a mate who thought it was funny that his 2yo was constsntly getting naughty sheets from nursery and insisted it would pass in time I said but he knows you think it is funny.....he is now 4 and at school at the teachers are at the end of their rope as he will not listen or do as he is told at anything and the parents have already been pulled in for meetings over it.

I normally make 300 mince pies and 4 xmas cakes in xmas run up I have said no cake this year and everyone will only get a small batch of pies each. I also make 3 puddingss for the actual day but may buy one in this year. i have had baked vanilla cheesecake requested I hate it so m&s may provide as its such a faff to do, I usually do malteser, mars bar or lime cheesecake

jenmcspen · 16/11/2014 10:11

Finally ready to enjoy my day off and have woken up full of cold-gutted!

Memphisbelly · 16/11/2014 10:41

Oh noooo Jen how rubbish...use the day differently get dh to make you some nice food and lie on sofa watching something you love....dh is just about to make me a bacon roll, fil has just left after saying 'why did you fall down the stairs?' Erm well I tried to fly then forgot I wasnt actually a bird...what an idiot man.

jenmcspen · 16/11/2014 11:06

Sadly OH is working today so think will just spend the day pottering at home with the heating on and regular sit downs with hot ribena and honey :)

LOL to the 'why did u fall down the stairs' - men!

jenmcspen · 16/11/2014 13:08

Argh, fell asleep on the sofa so now feel like I've wasted my morning! Obv needed it tho! Thinking I may need to chill out a bit and try and rest. Just feel like I have so much to get done! Sad

Memphisbelly · 16/11/2014 13:25

There is plenty of time to sort stuff, I have loads to do and cannot manage it, been in house all bloody week and was hoping to go out somewhere today but ds is coughing like crazy and its cold and damp here. A potter around the shops would be nice but ds and dh dont do shopping without looking grumpy so im sulking on the bed

freneticfox · 16/11/2014 16:11

Memphis - It's probably just a fissure (tear) or a pile - I suffer with both, but getting checked for sure will put your mind at rest. I've had IBS for as long as I remember, so I went into this pregnancy fully expecting some bowel issues. My body has not disappointed!

Hope everyone has had a good weekend, I've actually had a great one! Mum-in-law visited yesterday and we got our cot for the nursery, as well as a couple of other bits of furniture, hopefully to be delivered next week. Just need to get a bedside cot/crib for our bedroom and then that's all of our big purchases sorted.

Had a 3/4D scan this morning, it was utterly amazing. SO glad we did it, but it's made us feel really impatient. As I suspected he's a proper fidget, took the sonographer a few attempts to get some good snaps of his face. Will post the video link in the Facebook group if anyone is interested :)

Memphisbelly · 16/11/2014 16:53

thanks frenetic thats what I thought after a major fall on my arse then painkillers that bung you up I was expecting something.
so glad you had a good weekend after your shitty working week

Bangonthedoor · 16/11/2014 17:38

memphis I had the exact same thing from MIL! When I fell over badly when I was pregnant with DD she said to me "what were you thinking?!" Like I did it on purpose!

JacktheLab · 16/11/2014 19:06

Oh I've feeling so crap this weekend :(

The nurse upped my meds and I think it's what's doing it, feeling nauseous and off my food, hoping that I settle down in the next couple of days Hmm sorted out being constipated though!

Sorry for the moan guys

Grinningcat · 16/11/2014 20:48

So tired, but partially my own fault. DH and I visited friends last night and didn't go to bed until after 2am this morning. Then off to a visit to Dad's to have lunch with DSis and DBro and families. Shattered, but can get away without visiting then all now (apart from Dad) until Xmas now.

longbottom · 17/11/2014 00:23

Ive got hideous heart burn that is turning into acid in my throat. Can't get to sleep, it's burning!!

HelKat207 · 17/11/2014 10:19

Hello all!
Still here lurking and loving reading and keeping up with you all, i'm just very bad at joining in!

I'll just fill you in a bit on what's been going on in my life for the passed few weeks! Got my c-section booked for 5th Feb so 11 weeks (ish) to go which i'm sure will fly and thankful Xmas is smack bang in the middle!!
Had a test for gestational diabetes as one of my twinnies was measuring a little large for dates, but all clear on that front thankfully! Wouldn't have been surprised if i did have diabetes as my diet is atrocious!
Anyways... weight wise scared to weigh myself as even before being pregnant i never weighed myself as always struggle with body image.. loving being pregnant as at least tummy is solid rather than a jiggly lump of jelly Grin
My mum has kindly said i'm all bump and you can't tell i'm even pregnant from the back but mums are meant to lie and say you're perfect/beautiful at all times right?!

I've finished Christmas shopping for my boys and almost finished everyone else! Baby shopping nearly all done too, except for few little bits and will start adding wipes/nappies to each shop from this week!
It's all getting very exciting!!

Hope you are all doing well.

H x

Longbottom I was the same last night. I felt sick all night and my gorgeous lamb roast that I spent ages cooking just keeps repeating on me.

Has anyone heard from Hanflan? She was a bit concerned about movements last week. I hope everything is ok.

Long day for me. Just had to pick 4yr old I look after up from school as he's been stung by a wasp. It was in his wellie which they keep outside. Another child had the same on Friday and needed an ambulance.

Memphisbelly · 17/11/2014 10:43

hellkat how exciting to have the date you will meet your babies!
donkir wasps in Nov? wow. hope he is ok

donkir · 17/11/2014 10:51

He's fine now running around like a loon. Think the wasps must be hibernating in the kids wellies. The school now have to fill in extra forms to prevent it happening again.

Viperama · 17/11/2014 12:14

How long does cold/germ virus last on surfaces? My weekly cleaner is coughing all over the flat this morning. She's had a cold for two weeks she can't shake. I had no idea or I'd of asked her not to come.
I've avoided her so far but will delay going into rooms she's just cleaned for some time....

Viperama · 17/11/2014 12:16

HelKat my mom said the same, love moms!!
