Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
jenmcspen · 10/11/2014 23:14

Yes, I have been told I will need several scopes and some horrible sounding tests, then prob the op. Reassuring to hear someone who has had a positive result from it - I have heard very mixed levels of success.
Is difficult at the mo as I keep bringing food back up before it has got to my stomach (sorry for tmi!!!) even hours after I've eaten it. Doc is worried as it has got much worse in last 2-3 weeks and they don't want me to start losing weight. MW is much more relaxed and tells me 'don't worry about baby, they will just take what they need from ur body and eat thru any fat stores.'
Not sure how much fat baby will end up munching thru, but I could end up all skinny with a massive bump at this rate! lol!

Memphisbelly · 10/11/2014 23:41

Jen it may be getting worse because your stomach is so squished and high at the moment so symptoms may ease a bit once baby is here? would complan shakes with the vits you need get a bit more into you being liquid it is easier and quicker to digest?

Remember if you need to rant we are here ...and sick is not TMI.....remember I was talking about almost crapping myself last week...now that is tmi Grin

I feel another bad head coming on tonight hope it passes and doesnt erupt like last week

purpleteapig · 11/11/2014 07:14

I hope the vitamin shakes build you up Jen & you start feeling better soon. Are you off work at the mo?

Is anyone having a lot of BH lately? I seem to get them a lot in the late aft and evening, bit distracting when I'm at work! Don't remember having this many 1st time around...

LittleMissSunshine33 · 11/11/2014 07:14

Oh Jen poor you! Hope you feel better soon!

Pram arriving today eek exciting!! Loving seeing my whole stomach moving now I can't stop watching it! Amazing!!

Viperama · 11/11/2014 09:35

Purple I'm getting BH but only because we have a pile of stress shit on top of us. Wardrobe installers caused a major leak which repaired now but waiting on plasterers to cover hole in our bedroom ceiling. Now another leak to flats downstairs to source and repair, staircase company delayed fit meant to be tomorrow. Waiting on decorators for baby's room, only then ordering furniture.

And I have 13 weeks to go, but stitch out in 10 and baby may come immediately so with all these setbacks I'm panicking and BH is often triggered after contractor phone calls. Bed rest is meant to be relaxing.

Sorry for me rant, feel a bit better now I've vented! Baby is playing footie inside me so I won't complain really Smile...now must figure out how to get it to prefer ice hockey....it is half canadian after all

amyandtom · 11/11/2014 10:11

Purple, I'm the same but a 1st timer so I can't really compare it to 'normal' BH normally on an evening when I'm trying to get comfy in bed! Sad bump is keeping me up a lot on a night

Grinningcat · 11/11/2014 10:30

I'm getting BH when I'm coming home from work and in the evening, but I get more towards the end of the working week so I guess it is when I am more tired.

BanglesSpangles · 11/11/2014 10:39

morning all

so what's BH then? I'm wracking my brain, but nothing!

I'm in the quiet baby camp- i'm sure it just means he's a right old lazy-chops, but it makes it really hard to monitor movements

hanflan · 11/11/2014 10:47

Braxton Hicks! Or Branston Hicks as I used to think they were haha

OP posts:
BanglesSpangles · 11/11/2014 11:19

aahh those guys! Higgs bosons in my house (not that ive been having any!)- I seem to be missing out on almost all of the 'joys' of pregnancy

hanflan · 11/11/2014 11:30

I don't have any Higgs Bosons either Grin is it more common in subsequent pregnancies rather than firsts, I wonder?

Minichuch · 11/11/2014 11:53

Urgh what a morning - apologies in advance for super long post - first appointment with consultant - couldn't find my letter so no clue where in hospital had to go or what consultant name was,

Got there and apparently should have taken a sample, did blood pressure and was sky high, sent to do a sample and didn't check room number id come from so got list again, retake blood pressure still high but lower than first time

See consultant - didn't weight me which is shy I had been referred to him - blood pressure too high - here aspirin 1 a day for rest of pregnancy, protein in sample - get blood pressure checked again tomorrow oh and we will do 2 growth scans

In and out in 15 mins flat

Aargh - now to find somewhere to do blood pressure tomorrow seen as I have a 45min drive to work

Apologies once again for post just needed to vent

sandulacek · 11/11/2014 12:45

Hi all!

Mini no need for apologies. As if it wasn't enough cooking our babies any medical issues on top are annoying.

Had a phone call from haematology about my bloods, thankfully the protein is ok now but my calcium is borderline. They are very keen for me to have a MRI...feel lots of googleing coming up this afternoon to prep for the appointment next week. It really makes me worried, all these doctors ringing me directly...never really had any health problems Hmm

Bangles how far are you? I'm 25+1 and feel she's been fairly quiet. Although she's picking up the frequency now. Or do I just start feeling it now? Feel a bit stupid when mw or someone in hospital asks me if the baby's moving and I'm like I'm not sure. As a FTM I don't know what's normal and how the pattern should look like when everyone is different.

BanglesSpangles · 11/11/2014 13:07

26 + 4, sand - i guess some babies are quieter than others... hope that's the case anyway!

I'm getting sort of feelings like muscle spasms almost, which I think is him
swimming around in there, and then very occasionally, i'll get a kick or something definitive, and sometimes my bump goes hard in random places, like he's got his bum stuck out or something like that. No idea if that's normal or not!

freneticfox · 11/11/2014 13:41

Going to go back a couple of pages and catch up, but first... a rant! Actually been reprimanded for having a sodding bump. Apparently it's "really hard for xxx to see, since she is having problems TTC"

So, shall I just walk around inside a cardboard box until I give birth to avoid upsetting anyone? Jesus. I already don't talk about my unborn son to protect people's feelings.

freneticfox · 11/11/2014 13:48

Ok, all caught up I think..

Jen I hope you're feeling better soon or at least able to get some symptomatic relief (sends hugs)

RE: Bump size, I haven't been measured yet, will that happen at my 28w appointment?

And movement? Oh boy... if this little cub is half as active in the outside world as he is inside me, DH and I are going to need a lifetime supply of Red Bull. He has a few wiggles during the day, but evenings? He starts moving about 7pm and is almost non-stop until around 1am when he tapers off again. My insides are going to suffer when he's near full-term size!!

sandulacek · 11/11/2014 13:54

Bangles that's what it is like for me...must be it then Grin . Relieved someone has a similar experience.

Frenetic really? I understand that it must be heartbreaking for people who ttc for a long time but surely you would be happy for someone pregnant! And you don't even talk about your boy. Hello you can't hide your lovely bump!

Grinningcat · 11/11/2014 13:57

Crikey frenetic what's a mum-to-be to do with people like that!!

Just had my 25 week mw app. All normal and heartbeat heard. No measurement for me either. MW said that she knows that its written on the list, but they don't actually bother doing it until 28 weeks. Have to go for more routine bloods and a gestational diabeties test in a fortnight. Thanks Gran for having type 2 diabeties in your 90s which means I have to drink a glucose drink which both the MW and the trainee mw kept going on about how horrible it is and how to avoid vomiting it back up after drinking it! Also will be booked in for my Anti-D. Good think work has to let us have time off for doing all these isn't it Grin.

thingsarelookingup · 11/11/2014 14:31

It's been so long since I posted on this thread it dropped off my 'threads I'm on' list! I'll have to stop being so slack. I do read it everyday an love to hear how everyone is getting on but sometimes just struggle to post (although when I do it is often epic Smile).

Just waiting for my 25 week appt but I'm a bit too early.

Jen you have definitely found a gem in your dh! How sweet.

Frenetic I can't believe your work again. I get that it is difficult for your colleague but surely they should realise it's just not possible to not have a bump out of courtesy! That is crazy.

It's interesting to read how different everyone's movements are. I guess this is why with the count the kicks campaign they say to look for something different from YOUR normal. I worry about my little one sometimes because I think she wriggles less than ds did. Maybe I'll get a kid that sits still occasionally this time Smile.

lawyeredout82 · 11/11/2014 15:40

No Braxton Hicks for me either (at 27w!)....do most people get these?

Finally sorted a leaving date with work - 16th Jan! That gives me 5 1/2 weeks until Christmas and about 2 1/2 weeks afterwards before I finish...the countdown is officially on ladies!!! It is starting to feel real now, especially as we started NCT classes last week (we've snuck into the January due date class as there didn't seem to be a February one locally). Everyone in the group was very friendly and about our age, living in the same area which is great. Session two this evening and am actually looking forward to it!

PeppermintInfusion · 11/11/2014 15:48

I've been on the phone most of today figuring how I'm meant to claim mat allowance, nobody is helpful and they all just want the original maternity form and can't guarantee it's return Confused think I'm going to have to wait til I start my new job and get them to do it for me instead (I'm self employed atm).

Frenetic, I've got a wriggler too- it's non stop and I'm regularly being booted in the spine which is a strange sensation.
Have you tried speaking to your managers/HR about the work comments? Maybe I've missed that further back in the thread.

I haven't told many people at work that I'm pregnant so far(just boss and HR obviously), was waiting til I took the permanent job but now it's just going to be awkward!

Memphisbelly · 11/11/2014 18:07

Just a quick update from me had an accident this morning so been in hospital all bloody day.

Slipped on stairs we have 2 bends in ours stairs and I went top to bottom banging everything between my arse and my neck, ds was still here and luckily I caught neighbour before school so she took him for me rand mat unit as unsure where to go I started driving and half way realised how much pain I was in, somehow got there and had 5 hours of traces, scans, bloods etc they gave very strong pain killers and baby is all fine he was head down but the bang bounced him into breach position.
I was sobbing and they kept saying dont worry baby will be fine I kept saying its not baby itshow much pain I was in, my elbow is a complete mess so after I got all clear for baby we had to drive to another hospital with a and e and have xrays i dont quite know how I didnt break my elbow as it is massive, purple and cut so in a sling, so bruised I can barely move and have very strong tablets so waited to update when they wore off before I dose up again. Will catch up in morning

Viperama · 11/11/2014 18:14

Oh Memphis that's dreadful, thank goodness baby is ok. I hope you heal quickly. Flowers

freneticfox · 11/11/2014 18:14

Crikey Memphis, that's not something you want to be doing at any time, let alone at the moment! big hugs

Sure baby is fine, just take it easy and keep paracetemol close by for your elbow. I broke mine years ago in a horse riding accident and it's bloody ouchy!

Memphisbelly · 11/11/2014 18:30

im on dydracodeine and still in ain baby was fine and enjoyed the party I reckon mw's were laughing because he was going mad.
