Grinning, I have my 25w mw appt today as well Smile

purpleteapig · 10/11/2014 13:38

Everyone is being very productive in doing DIY/getting things ready! I finally took apart our bugaboo last night to give it a proper wash - when I really looked at it, I could see how embarrassingly grubby it was Blush

PeppermintInfusion · 10/11/2014 15:21

My me measured my bump for the first time today and it's 3 weeks ahead at 28cm, quite surprised as bump is actually quite small although at the last scan the baby was very long. Worried I'm having a massive baby now!

Memphisbelly · 10/11/2014 15:52

Peppermint did they refer you for a scan or leaving it for now? The mw at hospital told me 3 weeks ahead or behind they refer for a scan. It can change a lot in a week I grew 2 weeks in 1 week
Last week. My friend is 4 weeks ahead in aize but her baby is very long apparently.

Purple.....it may look grubby but imagine how shiney and new it will look once its clean!

I have done nothing baby related today but my back is still hurting, went hospital for my blood disorder and he said my white blood count has been very high the whole pregnancy and said he doubts it is anything to cause concern.

PeppermintInfusion · 10/11/2014 16:17

Memphis, I thought she might but she says she's happy enough with it for now as baby's measurements were long at the 20 week scan.

Memphisbelly · 10/11/2014 16:36

Ah maybe its just from 28 weeks they do that then? My friend who has a long baby got rescanned again today and with 3 weeks until due date they said it is measureing 11pound + Shock already

L1ttleMissGiggles · 10/11/2014 16:55

11lb+ oh my days! Shock Shock

PeppermintInfusion · 10/11/2014 16:58

That might be it, it says something in my green folder beneath the growth chart about how it doesn't matter of the 25 wk measurement is above the 90th centile.
I've heard long babies can throw off the estimated measurements, I was 26 inches when I was born and DH is v tall although he was v premature so obviously can't compare to that.

PeppermintInfusion · 10/11/2014 16:59

Giggles, that is my fear Shock

DH's gran was telling me about her massive babies (all 10+ lbs) and how one had 2 teeth when he was born!

L1ttleMissGiggles · 10/11/2014 17:07

Peppermint 2 teeth....really! I can't imagine having an 11lb baby....I'm going to put in a request for a small one Wink

Memphisbelly · 10/11/2014 17:19

They went by head measurements with ds they said at 35 weeks he would be at least 11 pounds but expected more....he was 6pound 14oz but had a mahoosive head (dh has a pea head I have a huge one) so that threw the measurements off.

My mate is huuuuuuge and to be honest I would have demanded being enduced if I was her although they told her they can feel a long spine, no chance of that with myself and dh we are short.

BanglesSpangles · 10/11/2014 17:39

Elloo, my maternity cover girly started today- have barely had a chance to speak to her yet- new work website launches tomorrow (fingers crossed) and until then i just can't think!

Yoga tonight, thank crikey, because long long days of sitting on my office chair is absolutely knackering my back- feels like someone is punching me repeatedly in the bum cheek

bagofsnakes · 10/11/2014 18:31

Peppermint - my newborn DS was super long - 55.5 cms which is way at the top of normal range, but only 6lbs 14oz when he was born. Crazy long baby doesn't mean you're having a massive baby, just maybe a really weirdly proportioned one. DS was so long and skinny, he was kind of freaky looking, like a ridiculously long preemie. Of course I thought he was just about the most amazing little thing I'd ever seen. Luckily he's got a lot cuter as time's gone on Smile

Memphis our DC1s had matching birth weights! Wonder if our second will be close too.

Grinningcat · 10/11/2014 18:50

Long post, but can I please ask if I should be worried about the following? My Dad gave us some apple turnovers from Sainsbury's on Saturday. Best before today. Was just about to tuck into one as a get home from work treat, have eaten two bites and then realised it has cream in it! It has just been sat in a cupboard and not in the fridge as Dad said nothing about cream and I checked the packaging three times to see if it was one with cream in it (as I don't like them with cream in anyway). It says nothing about cream or that it should be stored in the fridge! The two bites I ate were just pastry and apple and I spat (yuk) the third which had cream into the bin. I normally have a pretty tough constitution (at least pre-pregnancy), but do I need to worry about food poisoning? What about the baby if I do get ill? I've kept the packaging just in case.

Memphisbelly · 10/11/2014 18:50

Bag would be nice to have another little one!

My nephew was long and skinny too, had to cut toes on his babygrows in hospital, my sister said it was like giving birth to a snake he just kept coming Grin

Bangonthedoor · 10/11/2014 19:11

I have a feeling I'm going to have a big'un! DD was 8lb 7oz and I've got a feeling that this ones going to be a 9/10lb'er!

grinning I would say I wouldn't worry too much. Was it 'best before' or 'use by'? You didn't consume the whole thing and it's not been overly hot, I think summer would be a different story! If you do get poorly I'd consult your gp or NHS direct?

Memphisbelly · 10/11/2014 19:15

Grinning I think you would be fine, if it was off you would have smelt it or it would have tasted sour.

Grinningcat · 10/11/2014 19:19

My Dsis has reassured me as well particularly as I didn't actually eat any of the actual cream. It was best before today, but presumably that means in the fridge!

jenmcspen · 10/11/2014 19:28

After a crappy weekend I have come home from work to a lovely steak dinner, big bunch of flowers and a lovely clean house.
Love my OH Grin

Surf25 · 10/11/2014 19:55

Aw jen that's lovely. Well done your dh!

Had my 25 wk appointment today with the MW, was lovely to hear wee one's heartbeat Smile and everything else seemed fine.

Am impressed with everyone's preparations! We are getting a new kitchen this week so once that's all sorted I might get around to thinking about baby!

Wondered if anyone has heard from herroyal about how she and baby India are getting on?

Memphisbelly · 10/11/2014 21:12

No news yet so far this week surf.

Jen aw he is in the good books then! Dh is taking me out for a meal on Weds if he doesn't have to work away and got me flowers on Sat...... i did point out they were very basic compared to the massive bunch he bought my mum for apologising for making me late for work the other day (I work for her)

The baby is having a proper party in my belly tonight, everytime dh touches it he stops moving then literally goes crazy again onces he moves away!

Bangonthedoor · 10/11/2014 21:44

That's lovely jen sounds like that's just what you needed.

Got 28 week midwife appointment tomorrow morning which means a nice late start at work Grin

Mine is being a wriggler too memphis we probably notice it more at this time of day when we're relaxed.

jenmcspen · 10/11/2014 22:48

He's a superstar and has been so supportive while I've been having a mini meltdown this weekend! (His level of patience bodes well for his new daddy skills I think!)
I also had 28wk appt this morning so nice short day at work Grin
MW struggled to get blood tho - got told off for being dehydrated until I explained how often I'm being sick (have suspected achalasia, not MS anymore thankfully) ended up being more painful than usual
And I am in the active bump club too - my belly is being wobbled and poked all over the place Grin

Memphisbelly · 10/11/2014 22:49

Yes you are right, he doesn't move hardly apart from re adjusting himself before lunch then has a bit of a wiggle then from 6 onwards its party central

Memphisbelly · 10/11/2014 23:05

Jen is that what they will have to sort once baby arrives? i know someone at school who had that and the op was a great success, they had an injection think it was botox before op which was good too.
