M33 the email newsletter I got was just this week telling how good sex was during pregnancy and that it can't cause harm. To be honest for me, it has been uncomfortable and 'different' but baby will be fine, in fact it said the rocky motion can rock baby to sleep hahah. So no need to worry there.
But I too am worrying about lots of things and trying to push them out my brain as quick as they come in! My DH is away in December in school camp and I am trying not to thin about it... I got anxiety last time so a little nervous.
fruity after much youtube watching and researching we just bought city mini jogger gt and I love it (well it is still in its box but still love it)

pickled remind me! but where are you back from? Was it NZ? Hope you manged to get back to sleep!
Baby has danced all over my bladder today I have lost court of the trips to the loo! Scan tomo afternoon excited but also nervous!

Hi all, I've completely fallen off this thread - I think it's been a few weeks! Not likely that I'll catch up with everything but will have a quick read. Have been more active on the FB page so hope everyone on here is doing well.

PickledPorcupine · 03/11/2014 06:28

Yes rainbow, it was amazing! You're so lucky to live there.

Twittwooo · 03/11/2014 06:36

Have had a quick read and nice to see there are a couple of other Edinburgh mums on here! We have pram and Tripp Trapp from our toddler already, but sounds like you had a successful shopping trip fruit! 1/3 off is a bargain. I've had a difficult weekend - husband and father in law have been renovating our bathroom so on top of not having access for 4 days it's been dusty and chaotic and I've really not coped with this and having toddler at the same time. I've been feeling so tired lately and feel awful because the place is such a mess anyway and this has made me worse! Had a bit of a meltdown the other day and I've been very horrible and selfish about it all while they've been working hard for hours on end in a day! I've been finding little things FIL says really annoying, which is irrational, but I can't hide it at the moment and he must think I'm very ungrateful. It's bothering me now, as I'm not sure how to make things better. You know how these things escalate in your mind? Well, that's happening and it's really not like me! I'm blaming pregnancy hormones. I hate being so grumpy and emotional but I feel I can't control it .. aargh!!!

lotsoftoast · 03/11/2014 06:45

Morning all!

Unless your rare steak is bought from the back of a questionable van, you're probably safe enough to eat it with a bit of pink. As for the sex, if you haven't got a low lying placenta or unexplained bleeding, then shag to your hearts content

Hahaha love it toast!!!!

lotsoftoast · 03/11/2014 07:29

The only time I have steak is when DH treats me to a rare posh meal out - I figure if I'm paying 35 quid for a steak, there's no hope in hell I'm ruining it by having it well done! (farmers daughter, v particular about my steaks Grin )

SurfsUp1 · 03/11/2014 07:55

mmm, now I want a steak. And a nice glass of shiraz. Blush

m33r · 03/11/2014 08:41

Thanks everyone. It's not so much the dtd but the fact DH was on top and was flat on my stomach. Do we still think I'm totally fine?

Butterpuff · 03/11/2014 08:50

Morning all,

You know I really thought I would miss alcohol. We usually drink around 4 nights a week, share a bottle of an evening over dinner or have a few pints in the pub. But I really haven't wanted to drink. DH is enjoying me being designated driver, and I cant say I have missed it. Or any of the forbidden foods - though I am getting more and more relaxed about them all as time goes on. Bump nearly made me spill my tea yesterday so must be toughening up.

bouncesky welcome back - I had the same as you, dates suggested 2nd March, scan said 23rd Feb. 24 weeks today, not sure where the time has gone.

You know how people can say just the wrong thing about your bump, its either too big or too small. I went to a party for SIL at the weekend, and one of her lovely friends came over, asked how far along I was and simply said "you have a lovely bump" which was fab SIL has the best friends - most people keep telling me I look small, and I think I look huge.

SurfsUp1 · 03/11/2014 08:53

m33r one of my friends kept surfing until she was 6 months pregnant. Honestly - your baby is well padded - relax!

fishfingerSarnies · 03/11/2014 09:17

Don't worry m33r last time round dh and I dtd with him on top untill it was physically impossible and I slept on my stomach untill about 7 months and then still would wake up squashing it untill the last few weeks where I didn't sleep at all. Baby is fine in there.
My mum's been staying for a week as its half term and now she's gone I'm feeling really miserable and lonely again dh not back for anouther 4 weeks and I'm already dreading hin going away in January he will have missed 6 and a half months of this pregnancy and I'm feeling very sorry for myself. Dd is infront of the TV already while I take 10 mins to have a little cry and mumsnet.
My bathroom renovations start next week and I'm dreading it on my own with toddler and young dog, and me needing a wee every 20 mins, will have to use the potty, lol or just go out all day every day. Though having the doh makes that hard if the weather is as crap as it is at the moment.

m33r · 03/11/2014 09:26

fish I donmt know you're doing it! I think you are being brilliant. Have your little cry and some tea and cakes. Any friends nearby? X

pinkandstripey · 03/11/2014 09:40

I'm sure baby is very well padded in there - I hope so, I have an 18 month old toddler who crashes around and is far less careful than dp when we dtd :) I often wake up from sleeping on my front as well.

I'm sure I've read somewhere that sex is good for the baby, increased blood flow or something. It's about the only vice I have left - can't be bothered with wine, gone off tea and coffee, they won't take away sex as well!! ;)

Honestly, please don't worry, but if you want further reassurance mention in to your midwife next time :)

M27J5M · 03/11/2014 11:44

I've had the opposite worry with sex, was thinking oh was thinking my body was disgusting now that its changing (though he should be bloody well impressed with how huge my jugs have got) he's barely been near me and when he has it's because I've initiated it and then felt he was very disinterested, we'll eventually faced it this morning and turns out he's just paranoid he'll squash the baby or hit it, had to laugh and gently tell him he ain't big enough to reach the baby and the baby is as well cushioned as can be! Think I've managed to put him at ease, lol bloody better have Smile

KeeperOfTheZoo · 03/11/2014 12:51

Morning all, hope you've all had a good weekend.

Lol at all the various theories and paranoias re:dtd Grin. We have been banned until my next scan at the end of January due to a low-lying placenta but I'm tempted to be naughty once or twice, more for DH's sake really. Sod's Law though, the one time we do I will bleed then regret it forever so I don't know, we'll see. I'm guessing DH might actually be too scared of anything happening to go against the advice.

Our big news from the weekend is that we've gone and bought a new car Grin. We had been half-looking for a while but putting it off as there's technically nothing wrong with the one I drive now, but it is 14 years old and has 127,000 miles on it, so we thought sod it, let's go for something newer. DH likes his performance cars and my current one is a Subaru Impreza that has been very well looked after so hopefully someone will fall in love with it like us and buy it quickly. Need the money as we pick our new one up on Saturday!

coastergirl · 03/11/2014 19:29

I had my 20 week scan today. Everything looks great with baby. We chose not to find out the sex and actually managed to stick to it! He/she was a little awkward, head right underneath my belly button at first so there was air in the way, and I had to jump around to get it to stretch its legs out lol. Perfect view of the heart straight away though. It's just occurred to me that although the sonographer asked whether we wanted to know the sex, he/she had their legs crossed throughout so would they even have been able to tell?! Baby is currently sitting bottom down and my placenta is low so I have to have another scan at 34 weeks. It's really good to know that everything looks healthy. I just want more information, like what the actual measurements were etc. I have a consultant appointment on Wednesday so I thought I might ask. I like to have as much information as possible. Also wondering, should I have been told to avoid sex with a low-lying placenta? They didn't mention anything.

Also think I have baby-brain. I'm normally great with spelling, punctuation etc. and just noticed several mistakes in this!

EsmeGreene · 03/11/2014 22:21

I think I've nearly caught up with this thread. It's good to hear of so many 20 week scans going well. I had mine and all ok. And midwife appointment today - but she found too much glucose in my sample. It may have been the jam donut I ate two hours before, but I've been put on warning. Another high reading and I'll be sent for tests. I'll have to be good from now on.

SurfsUp1 · 04/11/2014 01:51

This morning I bought two finger buns. One for me and one for my boys to share for afternoon tea. Don't tell the boys, because there's nothing left! Blush

PickledPorcupine · 04/11/2014 04:44

Good work surf, the baby needed one. It's nearly 5am here and I've just eaten half a pack of cookies Blush as my compensation for being up since 2 and dh just sleeps, sleeps, sleeps.

lotsoftoast · 04/11/2014 05:39

coaster think you're ok if your placenta is far enough away, if it was covering the cervix then it would be a definite no

esme yes, that jam doughnut may have done it!

How are we all today? We have no great plans other than taking ds for a haircut - I'm hoping that it will be fine, but time will tell!!!

Morning, lovely picture coaster its not just me with the sweet tooth then!

Just found out I have a dentist appointment today, and I forgot my card thing to tell them I am pregnant and its free. Wonder if the bump with be enough proof!

Gorgeous friend brought her gorgeous 5 month daughter round for tea last night. She is very sweet, but also very hungry and quite loud when upset, tired, hungry etc. we are now terrified.

Pisghetti · 04/11/2014 08:56

Coaster baby had ankles crossed when we asked so the sonographer gave the bump a good shake and asked me to cough! Poor baby.....

Rainbow555 · 04/11/2014 08:59

Had scan today, all went well but I do have low lying placenta. Aldo didn't get told not to have sex coaster it was 1.84cm away so not completely covering, another scan at 32 weeks.

We are really lucky here and they give u a copy of all the pics on a USB and they have the measurements on them.

My sweeypt tooth has gone! It's a bit depressing to be honest!!

theonewiththenoisychild · 04/11/2014 09:28

baby brain strikes again.... i thought my scan was tomorrow. ita today. luckily oh can still make it Grin hope little oe has his or her legs open today because they dont tell you in my area so hope to get a peek. ds was very helpful at his 20 week scan Grin but still had a private scan to make sure as they wouldnt tell me for certain i was right. i think its wrong they charge to tell you the sex of the baby
