Ha thanks Butterpuff - i'm definitely going for the, um, organic 'snow drift' effect on top of the cake and just hope everyone is too drunk distracted to notice.

M27 - I think all the 'festive calories' are causing a growth spurt in the little thing! Wrapping for me too. OH, an economist, thinks he's "80% there" with his present buying. Ha ha ha.

Butterpuff · 19/12/2014 15:12

Elliz, sounds professional to me. My Mum is a semi-professional cake maker decorator and has make some amazing creations in her time. But for Christmas every year we have a simple snow scene with plastic trees, deer, robins stuck on top!

Gudgyx · 19/12/2014 15:47

Aw no :( remember I told you guys about my cousins pregnant girlfriend, where they suspected the baby had downs and various other medical problems? Turns out its Edwards Syndrome :( poor poor them, how horrible

MGFM · 19/12/2014 16:53

Ellizardo - I preordered from a local baby shop called Baby2000. I asked Uppababy before I went in and they said that all of their retailers were able to take orders for next year. Cybex said the same thing.

Butterpuff · 19/12/2014 17:20

Oh no Gudgy. I had to google Edwards syndrome as I didn't know anything about it. What a sad thing to find out. I hope that they have a good support system around them as it is obviously going to be a difficult time for them and all the family. Flowers

MissRee · 19/12/2014 17:40

Gudgy I didn't have the whooping cough vaccine as a child due to my mum's epilepsy either! Did you get whooping cough as a child? I've had it twice now (unlucky) and I've been advised to speak to my GP as I may already have immunity.

How terribly sad about your cousin. I know someone whose baby was diagnosed with Edwards - they chose to terminate at 24 weeks. Horrible horrible situation for anyone to be in :(

ZylaB · 19/12/2014 17:49

MGFM what colour are you getting? I've ordered it in amethyst!

MGFM · 19/12/2014 20:14

ZylaB we are getting it in the red. Excited to get it! No idea when it is going to arrive!

Gudgyx · 19/12/2014 22:36

I've never had it MissRee no ?? glad to hear someone else was refused to due to epilepsy though, no one seemed to know what I was talking about!

I think in a way they may see the baby having Edwards as opposed to downs a bit of not a blessing but a relief maybe? In a way the decision on whether to continue with the pregnancy has been taken out of their hands because it just wouldn't be fair on the baby to continue. Feel for her tho as my cousin works on the rigs and is only home til Sunday ?? I don't want to go see her because of my big bump, but she has a big family support system and knows I'm here if she needs it.

I've got a cabriofix for the new vista, but won't use it on the pram chassis often anyway, I think I'd rather pop her in the bassinet or seat unless it's really a 2 min trip :)

MGFM · 20/12/2014 14:22

I don't think I would use the car seat much on the chassis either. I like the bassinet too much to not use it!

theonewiththenoisychild · 20/12/2014 20:10

ellizardo i thought i was doing ok with festive plans but ive still got to get my son a dressing gown and both kids some bits to go in their stocking plus all sizes of batteries including watch batteries plus i need 8 rechargable ones for the furbys. a £10 game voucher for my cousin and something small for oh

Emilyrose1290 · 21/12/2014 19:28

Gudgy so sorry about your cousin Sad

I was wondering if anyone was able to offer help or advice. I have been having increasing acid reflux since about 25 weeks. Now 29+3 and this week it has escalated to actual sickness! Confused I am struggling after every meal and even when I drink, not always managing to keep everything down. Even when I have a small meal or snack. I am having rennies fairly often but it doesn't always stop the sickness. Anybody else having this? Is it normal? Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated Smile

fourmonthstogo · 21/12/2014 20:52

I just wanted to say that I ended up using my car seat on the chassis loads with dd, even though I loved my pram bit. Basically she'd fall asleep almost every car journey, so rather than waking her up and transferring her it was a godsend to simply click it on the chassis. Also, the pram bits can take a lot of room up in the car so I didn't often take it. Got plenty of use of the pram on walks setting off from the house though.
Emily I had heartburn last time round but nothing like yours. Poor you. Anyway, my friend suffered terribly until she went to her Dr Who was able to prescribe something which really helped. So I'd recommend you go and see the Dr.

theonewiththenoisychild · 21/12/2014 21:01

emilyrose ive had the same im 26 weeks today and had it the last few weeks. i havent found anything that helps yet. taking a lot of rennie and drinking a lot of milk at the moment but might get a call back off the gp in the morning see if i can get something to help

DurhamRed · 21/12/2014 22:21

Hi Emily & theone your gp should be able to prescribe you some Ranitidine. You'd need to take it on a regular basis for it to work properly, but it really does help. I hads it prescibed following severe hg which left me with a very acidic stomach and the tablets have helped loads.

Rainbow555 · 22/12/2014 07:19

Hey everyone, fell off here a bit as we moved house and are having getting our phone and wireless set up!
Hope everyone is keeping well!
With Christmas hols, I too only have 4 weeks left at work and so much to do!
It's interesting as it starts to get hotter here! Hunting for stretchy cool dresses and feeling miserable with hayfever! Did some gardening yesterday in a snorkel mask hahaha

Also getting bigger and pretty uncomfortable last few days all down right hand side, feels like baby is going to bust out of my stomach, really tight and stretched feeling, it's not that pleasant!! Baby still reach so I think head is getting in the way certainly can't eat much in one go!

MissRee · 22/12/2014 09:42

I've felt horrendous all weekend - massively bloated, stretched, nauseous and had another fainting episode yesterday morning whilst having breakfast with the family. Can barely eat anything, walking anywhere is a struggle asi can't breathe and I have absolutely zero energy.

I'd give anything for this pregnancy to be as easy as it was with DD1!!! Grin

Gudgyx · 22/12/2014 10:55

Its the beginning of the end....OH had to put my shoes on for me yesterday as I couldnt reach my feet!!

Another thing, I'm peed off with his family. We went to his mum for xmas dinner last year, so my mums this year. His mum has took a random dislike to one of his brothers girlfriends (she has met her once, ignored her) so wont have them for dinner. His other brother is in the forces so not getting home for christmas. MIL has now decided to work, leaving FIL at home alone. Bro's gf has decided she is going to her dads, bro wont go with her (I have no idea why!!) So now he is alone too. Bro and FIL dont get along well enough to spend xmas day together. So now OH is feeling guilty and not looking forward to xmas at all. I HATE how that family work. Dreading next year when the baby will be here, which is terrible. ARGHHH!!

M27J5M · 22/12/2014 15:11

Hi all Smile

Sorry to hear some of you are feeling yucky etc!!

Gudgy that sounds horrible but try not to stress yourself too much withit all!

I've had a horrible few days but all good now, thought I was going into labour on sat night, was up the whole night in agony and could feel the baby really really lowdown to the extent I thought it was gonna pop out n say hi :/ Was the exact same pains I got 24hours before going into labour with DS

MGFM · 22/12/2014 16:59

Had my 28 week midwife appointment today. Currently 28 + 5. The baby is measuring at 30 weeks. They might send me for a growth scan. I do have a pretty big bump. Hopefully nothing to worry about. Anyway, heard the heart beat again which was cool.

coastergirl · 22/12/2014 22:29

MGFM I had my 28 week midwife appointment today too. I'm 27+2 and measuring 29 weeks. I didn't think my bump was big at all!

Butterpuff · 23/12/2014 08:57

Eeek M27 I hope baby is still hanging in there with you!

I was measuring exactly 28 at by 28 week appointment, though I was closer to 29 weeks. I am convinced my bump is huge. None of it makes any sense at all.

All I know is that my little tiny short arse stumpy waist does not have enough room in it for bump and breathing is getting increasingly difficult.

Hope you are all well today.

Gudgyx · 23/12/2014 09:35

A girl on my fb had her baby girl last night. I dont know her very well, only met her once at her sisters wedding, groom is my OH friend. Anyway, she had her baby last night, she had to be delivered by forceps in the end, and her poor wee face :( its all bruised and swollen, poor wee thing. Really shocked me seeing that. They're saying it'll be gone in a few days, but it looks really bad. I was furious on her behalf, I know they have to get the baby out and ultimately no real harm was done to her, but I can only imagine my reaction if that happened to my girl. Poor wee thing.
