Been awol for a few days as life has just madly hectic!

Durham so glad you're feeling better - I know you probably still feel pretty lousy with the constant nausea but I'm guessing that compared to what you were going through it is a step in the right direction at least.

theone glad your cat seems to be on the mend too. Thankfully my dog is now back home and did seem back to perfect health (for him - he has lots of other issues and a lifelong condition that he needs daily medication for and always will but that's another story!) DH text me this morning though after I'd got to work to say that he had another bout of diarrhoea so we're going to have to keep a close eye on him - hopefully it is just the antibiotics playing havoc with his belly but we'll see. Got the shock of my life yesterday when I went to settle the outstanding bill - £600!!! Yikes! Shock

Picking up our new car tomorrow which is exciting, especially for DH - although he has now said he isn't sure he wants to sell the one it is supposed to be replacing. Well he has no choice because we don't need 3 cars!!

life I have SPD and my pelvis and hips feel utterly broken right now. Strted getting bad around 20 weeks and now at 24 it is affecting my ability to do certain things. If I do any housework or even sit at my desk at workall day i pay for it in the evening,
Really feel for you. I got a physio appointment quite quickly and have my 2nd session(thanks to my wonky hip) in a fortnight. Would recommend pushing for physio appt asap
Another here with anterior placenta which was low at 12 week scan(according to my notes) but fine now. I do noice that I don't feel much movement at all on my left side so I guess that's where it is.
Whenever baby is on my right side the kicks are so strong now and can see/feel them from the outside. I had forgotten how amazing and mesmorising it is to just stare at your baby moving inside you.

durham so pleased you are feeling a bit more human. Fx it continues

3isthemajicnumber · 07/11/2014 20:22

Someone slap me please. I just cried because I can't go to the local nct sale tomorrow. Get a grip!

fishfingerSarnies · 07/11/2014 20:36

Feeling so bloody emotional the past few days, I haven't been to bad this pregnancy last time I was mental the whole way through. Today I just can't stop crying, miss my bloody husband though he's home in 3 weeks it feels worse than ever. Also my toddler has been acting up, really rude and naughty stressing me out. I just seem to have no patience with her not sure if it's her being so naughty making me so cross or me being so cross making her seem naughtier.
Grrr just need to vent... Also my toilet is broken so whole house smells of poo and next week Im going to have to some how deal with a herd or builder, plumber men tamping about installing a new bathroom. Would really like a week off from life.

And another thi g getting me down is how guilty I feel about being unhappy I'm having a boy Sad

fishfingerSarnies · 07/11/2014 20:37

Sorry for the rant.

MooMaid · 08/11/2014 08:44

Oooh fish why are you unhappy about having a boy? Its ok to feel what you're feeling - at least you acknowledge it. Sometimes you can't help how you feel but don't forget feelings change x

M27J5M · 08/11/2014 08:58

Lifeis I got diagnosed with spd at9weeks but by 14weeksit kinda vanished but over the past few weeks has been getting achey and sore and mw said for it to be ready to hit full force again!

Aww Durham it's so good to hear your doing better Smile
Fishfingers sounds like your having a stressful time right now, try relax and not not let it get to you! As for feeling guilty your having a boy, that's normal but once your little prince is here you will be over the moon and love him soooooo much

DurhamRed · 08/11/2014 09:12

Thanks everyone for your kind messages. The constant nausea is irritating but nothing compared to the full force of hg! I'm hoping to return to work on the 17th Nov for some normality, I've been signed of sick for the past 4 months and it has driven me crazy!!

Fish I:m so sorry to hear you are having a stressful time, don't worry about feeling guilty as M27 says once baby is born you'll be full of love for him.

theonewiththenoisychild · 08/11/2014 14:21

fish oh's niece was very upset to be having another boy she is desperate for a little girl but now she loves being a mum to 2 beautiful boys Smile dont feel guilty it will pass. plus i find boys easier than girls

Rainbow555 · 08/11/2014 23:24

Latest count on the spreadsheet 9boys 11 girls and 14 surprise babies among us!

fishfingerSarnies · 09/11/2014 08:23

Thanks people, I've already got a girl so don't know what I'm getting so worked up about I'm going to love having one of each when the time comes. Dh popped home for 24 hours to give me some much needed love and support so feeling much better.
Glad your feeling better a bit better Durham hope that going back to work gives you a bit of normality.

Sorry to hear about all the spd sufferers really hope it stays manageable for you guys.
I went on an epic walk yesterday pretty much all day up and down hills which ended in the most horrific rain storm so now my whole body is aching like A bitch and I can hardly move. Possibley did too much, as always.

lotsoftoast · 10/11/2014 06:58

Morning all! My ds is 2 this week, how did that happen? I just had him yesterday!!!

persepolis123 · 10/11/2014 09:16

fish It's a bit of a taboo subject to talk about but I think gender disappointment is very common. Try not to feel too guilty, I'm sure given a bit of time you will get your head around it and actually start to get excited about having a little boy. Is there anything in particular that worries you about having a boy?

toast My DS is 2 this week as well! Can't believe I am the mum of a two year old. What do you have planned? Weather permitting we will be going to the zoo in the daytime then out for something to eat in the evening, probably somewhere that has an indoor soft play area. We have annual passes for the zoo so it will be quite a cheap day out.

MGFM · 10/11/2014 11:38

Fish I wanted a little girl, and hopefully the next one will be!But now I am used to the idea of a boy I am super excited. My husband will have a son! It is truly amazing. I have two cousins that both have 3 boys and no girls and they love it.

I was at a christening recently where all the girls were playing quietly with dolls etc and the little boys were making a right ruckus! And if my next door neighbours twins are anything to go by (little girl like to tidy and organise books, dvds etc) boy likes to throw stuff around and run all over the place then I would say in the early years it looks like girls are easier but maybe as they get little bit older a boy is easier to deal with.

Either way I am super excited about having a son. :)

PickledPorcupine · 10/11/2014 16:24

Hi everyone, does anyone else feel like they're going through a permanent stretch?! Feel like I'm being pulled in half!

lotsoftoast · 11/11/2014 06:29

Perse his grandparents will be visiting, we'll have cake and balloons, and we might take him out for lunch as well :)

Managed to get 2 ponchos in Next yesterday which will do in place of a winter coat at the moment - I was taking personal offence at how awful the selection of maternity clothes was in town yesterday!

OP posts:
M27J5M · 11/11/2014 09:32

Pickles I feel the same, constantly feel like I'm tight/stretching!

Toast it's a nightmare trying to get maternity stuff in the shops, everything is either hideous or ill fitting, I ill keep this in mind, I've always wanted to open my own salon but I'm seriously reconsidering and going to open a stylish shop that only sells maternity wear and at a reasonable price lol

Butterpuff · 11/11/2014 12:56

I had one look in the shops for maternity clothes and got annoyed. Now anything I want comes second hand from eBay. It still looks mumsy....but at least its cheap so I don't feel like I've been robbed!

I don't get on with maternity trousers so am wearing stretchy jersey dresses, leggings, big jumpers and boots from now till baby arrives.
My coat is quite nice though, originally from M&S wool, warm and fairly flattering even with the bump.

3isthemajicnumber · 11/11/2014 18:45

Hi all

Fish I had a girl first and then a boy. The main difference I found was that boys sleep!! Ds is amazing and was only awake for an hour at a time till about 5 months. Marvellous. Also I just put him in his cot and he went to sleep. Bizarre no rocking or shh ing or nowt.
Having said that I do fancy a girl this time, I miss the pretty clothes.
Maternity clothes are a nightmare I hate feeling frumpy. However worst of all is sleepwear. My flipping pjs are cutting me in half.

SurfsUp1 · 11/11/2014 19:32

I just bought a few things on A Pea in a Pod - expensive, but I plan to sell them all afterwards anyway! I just can't stand looking frumpy all the time!
They had some things that actually looked pretty cool - I'll let you know if they are any good IRL!

Woke up with v nasty stretching pain down my right side this morning - ouch!!

Rainbow555 · 12/11/2014 06:22

Yes!! To stretchy pains. In fact today I just feel really uncomfortable. My belly aches and feels heavy like something is in it, which is a really dumb thing to say as there is a baby in there! I know how stupid it sounds but is it normal to be aware of it all the time?
Today it was sore and hurt when I pushed in certain places, I wonder if perhaps ther is trapped wind under it all...it is not there all the time so I don't think I need to worry. But whether it is normal to feel like this has been on my mind!

m27 I have felt the same about starting a shop,M surely it can't be that hard!!

Lifeisabeach · 12/11/2014 07:05

I'm searching eBay for maternity clothes too, really need some new jeans.

Question for anyone who has bought the baby jogger city mini - have you bought a carrycot too? If so which one did you go for?

SurfsUp1 · 12/11/2014 07:09

Lifeisabeach I did. I got the Compact one. Got it second hand as they are used so briefly so the second hand ones are generally barely used and are SO much cheaper!

m33r · 12/11/2014 07:55

rainbow I have days where my tummy is quite sore. Yesterday was particularly bad but I was wearing tights which I think made it so much worse (was actually in tears but think this was a combination of being anxious and a bit emotional!) but I figure since I feel LO moving regularly it's ok. Have mw at 0920 so will ask.

Gudgyx · 12/11/2014 10:56

Am I being a bit precious to be all grrr that my work have now decided to get my maternity cover sorted? They werent going to, and just take my work on in the team.

Also baby girl realllly varies in her movement. Some days she doesnt stop jiggling and kicking, other days shes pretty quiet and I only get a random thump. Are we too early to be counting kicks?
