Hi!

BFPS with FRER - I am due DC4 1st July Grin

Already have ds1-16y,ds2-12y, ds3-6y.

Ds3 will be 7yo before dc4. Didnt really think it was such a big gap as he still feels like young iyswim til I sat and thought about it! Shock

So pleased to have found this thread! We found out on Sunday im expecting after the first month of trying so I will be 5 was on Sunday and expected due date is 5th July. DH and I are still in shock it happened so soon but over the moon too. Having to tell family this weekend as not drinking would give it away anyway and it will be lovely to see how people react! Just have fx that all is ok as I know it's very early and could have MC. I hope to have an early scan at 8 wks to help with the worry.

JoY007 · 30/10/2014 21:04

Hi Ladies,

Congrats all! Smile

My due date is 9th July, I am new to this, please help with the acronyms what is bcp, bfp, dc? Excuse my ignorance thanks.Blush

Lastly can I drink slim line bitter lemon?

JoY007 · 30/10/2014 21:13

@bustherb Me too! Cramping like menstrual pain, comes on and off. However just read in a book, that it is the uterus softening to form a mucus plug in the opening of the cervix to protect the baby.

Bustherb · 30/10/2014 21:17

Oh thanks joy that's reassuring to know! What book do you have? Anybody paying for an early scan? I've just found out a private place can do it just up the road from me (they do all the 3d ones too) from 6 weeks! Xx

JoY007 · 30/10/2014 21:22

Wow, that is good to know, I am curious to do Obe before the official one at 8 weeks I was to,d by my Gp.

The book is called The Ultimate Healthy Pregnany Guide by Joy Sarah kindle version is 90p or so

Bustherb · 30/10/2014 21:25

Do they do a scan at 8weeks at the doctors? I thought it was just 12 and 20? See I have no clue about it! I am going to purchase that book!!xx lol

JoY007 · 30/10/2014 21:25

I meant - I am curious to do one before the official at 8 weeks as told by my GP. Smile

Bustherb · 30/10/2014 21:28

Ah ok yeah, WinkWink xx

JoY007 · 30/10/2014 21:28

To clarify, I am not sure I heard him right, too excited at the time! He did mention seeing midwife at 8 weeks and scan at 10-12 however not sure if scan would be done at 8weeks as well, so I may be wrong.

Bustherb · 30/10/2014 21:32

Ah ok, yes I've got an appointment with my midwife at 8 weeks, she said to be expected to be with her for at least an hour, she didn't elaborate though lol xxx

JoY007 · 30/10/2014 21:36

Cool, 1 hour oh dear! Can't wait though, thanksSmile

WiIdfire · 30/10/2014 22:14

The appt will just be a chat - first NHS scan not til 12 weeks.

Linseyd · 30/10/2014 22:24

anyone got their midwife appointment letter yet for booking in i had paperwork sent off monday by gp xxx

TouchPauseEngage · 30/10/2014 23:03

Dinner went well! Arrived at bar early and so was drinking a 'gin' and tonic when they arrived. DH then got next lot of drinks in and so they thought I was 2 G&T's down before dinner had started! Had wine with meal and I had one sip and then DH drank from my glass for the rest of the evening. Bloody shattered though and poor DH is going to feel the affect of helping me out, tomorrow morning Grin

VirtualPointyHat · 31/10/2014 08:57

When are you all planning on telling people?

I won't tell most people until after 12 weeks scan, but what about parents?

DH's parent are out of the country until xmas, so won't be able to tell them in person until then.

I am seeing mine this weekend, but don't want to tell them a long time before the in laws

Also DSis has just had a good 12 week scan after 2 MMC so I really don't want to tell her for a while

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 31/10/2014 08:58

Wildfire my first pregnancy was totally symptom free at this point and it was all fine, it's nothing to worry about :)

My first midwife appointment is at exactly 9 weeks and I will have a scan then. We aren't telling people until Christmas (I'm 13 weeks then).

MisterSafetyCatchIsNotOn · 31/10/2014 09:29

Thanks msryan!

Virtual that's lovely that you and dsis will have babies so close in age! With DS I told my dsis straight away as I had to tell someone and she had recently had a baby too, but no one else was told until 12 weeks when we went to stay with my parents. ILs found out over Skype as they don't live in the UK and we wanted them to know at the same time as my family. They were all fine with it, think my mum was a bit miffed that I told her so late but she got over it! I don't think I'll wait this time though, as we'd been trying for 14 months they have been waiting and wondering for long enough already! Maybe when I get to 6 weeks or so if all seems on track.

Thepurplegiraffe · 31/10/2014 10:23

Hi all

Can I tentatively join? I just got a bfp on a frer this morning at 12dpo but I'm nervous as I had a mc in September. Hoping this one sticks.

SquirrelGirl78 · 31/10/2014 10:23

Morning all! Can I join you? I'm due 4th July according to NHS website (and pretty sure when I ovulated as we were using Clear Blue Fertility Monitor - what a genius wee contraption it is!). I had a MMC in July so not letting myself believe it's true until I see a heartbeat on a scan. Phoned the EPU and scan scheduled for 7.5 weeks so hopefully this should be far enough for some 'certainty'?
Just am a ball of worry that I don't feel pregnant enough. And generally am emotional wreck - cried at two reports on Channel 4 news this week. Mental.
Hope you're all keeping well Smile

Thepurplegiraffe · 31/10/2014 10:23

Oops, I think due date will be 12th July, according to the nhs website.

TouchPauseEngage · 31/10/2014 11:40

I'll tell my mum next week I think. Think I already mentioned she's a GP receptionist so she'll see my midwife letter before 12 weeks anyway. I have to call midwives at 8 weeks to book my appointment and then I see them at 10 weeks. Seems a bit later than most people on here.

DH's parents are a bit...dozy...and will tell people early so we won't tell them till after scan. and we'll let the news dribble out after that - I'm not one for big announcements!
In other news my boobs have ballooned over night! I'm bloody thrilled- have been waiting since puberty for this to happen!

WiIdfire · 31/10/2014 17:53

Squirrel - Im with you on this It's really sad that there is none of the excitement this time round, just worry that it will end the same as last time. I've just booked in my six week scan (previous ectopic) so hopefully we can relax a little after that.

fattycow · 31/10/2014 17:57

Welcome to the new ladies!

How is everyone feeling?

I have some cramps on and off, worries me a little bit but I know it is probably my womb getting more 'homely' for bean.
