Hi!

After approx 5 15 BFP's ranging from super faint IC's to super
BFPS with FRER - I am due DC4 1st July Grin

Already have ds1-16y,ds2-12y, ds3-6y.

Ds3 will be 7yo before dc4. Didnt really think it was such a big gap as he still feels like young iyswim til I sat and thought about it! Shock

EskiDecaff · 28/10/2014 18:52

Hello all,
Just this morning had a much awaited bfpGrin fingers crossed due date 5th July.
Lovely to find you all!

TouchPauseEngage · 28/10/2014 19:14

Hi Eski welcome! Hope you're feeling ok so far. Is this DC1 for you?

Do any of you who are on DC 2 or more have any tips on hiding the fact I'm not drinking? I'm having dinner with my 2 best friends and their DP's on Thursday. I thought I'd want to tell them but I feel like keeping it to myself fo a little while longer. It will be very very very noticeable if I'm not drinking. Might need to get DH to drink my wine too (he will enjoy that).

Hoping my sickness doesn't ramp up before then - it's a posh restaurant with pea foam and wasabi icecream and the like - not sure I can stomach the odd textures!

EskiDecaff · 28/10/2014 19:38

Hiya, no dc2. Ds is 3 1/2. No tips on not drinking, it's tricky! Will be watching everyone else's tips though. Out of the blue we seem to have so many leaving dos at work and I'm needing excuses too!

Linseyd · 28/10/2014 19:43

ive got my engagement party saturday so have come up with the idea of juice in a wine glass xxxx

MisterSafetyCatchIsNotOn · 28/10/2014 20:43

We went for dinner with friends when I was about 5 weeks with DS touch. I just pretended to drink and DH downed my glass every time he could get away with it! Soft drinks that could be booze or not are your friend (lime & soda, lemonade) if you can get dp to order you a 'vodka lemonade' for example which is actually only lemonade. First time round I had so many Christmas parties where I was sure friends would notice as I always drank normally, but nobody did. Helps they were all pre-dc and oblivious. This time I barely drink anyway so not really a problem!

MisterSafetyCatchIsNotOn · 28/10/2014 20:45

Congrats on your engagement linseyd!

fattycow · 28/10/2014 21:13

Touch, if you are going out, could you take the car and say you are the designated driver? That is my plan for the coming 2 months.

I feel sick throughout the day, not very helpful when we want to keep it a secret until 13 weeks...

fattycow · 28/10/2014 21:14

Or, you can say you are on antibiotics for something, as you are not allowed to drink then!

TouchPauseEngage · 28/10/2014 21:24

I can't use the car excuse. The restaurant is in town a short taxi ride away and I have never in the history of wine been known to drive if a taxi is a possibility Blush
They are both pre DC so I'm hoping they won't notice. I love them both but they will get very squeeeeee and excited and won't understand that right now it's not something I can get excited about....hope that doesn't sound too doom and gloom.

TouchPauseEngage · 28/10/2014 21:29

Sorry you're feeling so sick fatty hmmm doesn't sound right calling you that Grin I might shorten it to FC!

TallGiraffes · 28/10/2014 22:46

One trick I deployed was for me to say "gin and tonic" and my DH to say "tonic" in a round. We said we were pacing ourselves. We'd swap each time but it meant no one really noticed I wasn't drinking as they assumed I was. It's easier at mingling dos as you can abandon wine glasses on windowsills!

fattycow · 28/10/2014 23:01

I think I will go with the antibiotics story if people ask. I'll just fake some kind of infection. Angina (where your throat gets all grayish white and icky and hurts like hell) should work for me. I have a history of getting that and when I do, I get antibiotics as soon as the first symptoms arise. So the infection has hardly developed and I usually feel fine.

And I really don't mind to be called Fatty. When joining this forum becoming a 'fat cow' was my goal. Wink

fattycow · 28/10/2014 23:02

Can someone please list the due dates again? My brain is too fuzzy to do it tonight.

MsRyanGosling · 28/10/2014 23:07

Angina?!

OP posts:
fattycow · 28/10/2014 23:12

That's what they call it over here. I don't know the English translation, hence the description of it. Smile

MsRyanGosling · 29/10/2014 07:39

Ahhh. Angina is heart pains - perhaps you mean tonsillitis Grin

Hope you are better soon Thanks

hazelnutlatte · 29/10/2014 08:03

In my group of friends if anyone says they are not drinking due to antibiotics it's guaranteed that they will be soon announcing that they are pregnant! Everyone will see through that in an instant.
Do you usually do drinks in rounds or buy your own drinks? If buying your own it should be much easier to hide - I would go for a tonic water and pretend there is gin in it. I have a night out coming up soon too, luckily I live quite a distance away so it's not that unusual for me to drive.

fattycow · 29/10/2014 08:08

Angina Pectoris is heart pains, just plain Angina is a throat infection (silly Latin names).

I took yet another test this morning, as I had five to begin with and I am not going to store them for months and months. Still two lines. Grin

WiIdfire · 29/10/2014 12:34

Hi! waves
I'd like to join please. EDD 7th July if all goes well. I've only managed to produce an ectopic so far, so this'll be my first. Quite excited, but quietly so, just in case.

VirtualPointyHat · 29/10/2014 12:48

Going to see doc later, am very overweight so need a prescription for higher level of folic acid.

Just found out my lovely GP has retired though, so terrified new one will not be supportive

Not feeling as sick today, but worried that is a bad sign.

I think I am just going to be worried for the next 18 years now aren't I?

TallGiraffes · 29/10/2014 17:36

Hi WiIdfire, hope this one is in hence right place and you don't have to go through this again.

Virtual - the worrying is totally normal! I remember at about 15 weeks on the first day when I didn't throw up first time round I started to panic instead of being happy! I have unfortunately learnt for me that feeling sick is not necessarily reassuring. I continued to have morning sickness for 2 weeks after I miscarried second time round Sad

I had forgotten about the bloat though, I look pregnant already!!

ProbablyEvil · 29/10/2014 18:12

I am very pleased to ask if I can join you all as I got a BFP today SmileSmile Due about 12th July SmileSmile I'm in shock!!!

TouchPauseEngage · 29/10/2014 18:30

Hi probably and wildfire welcome!
giraffes that is a genius idea. Have discussed with DH and he will be on tonic swap duty all night! I am horribly painfully bloated and kept having to leave the office and go out to my car to...erm...relieve the trapped wind. It's dead sexy this pregnancy lark.

fatty Grin I have POAS every day since Friday. Today is the first day it was dark.

TouchPauseEngage · 29/10/2014 18:31

virtual hope it went ok with the doc
