Hi!

After approx 5 15 BFP's ranging from super faint IC's to super
BFPS with FRER - I am due DC4 1st July Grin

Already have ds1-16y,ds2-12y, ds3-6y.

Ds3 will be 7yo before dc4. Didnt really think it was such a big gap as he still feels like young iyswim til I sat and thought about it! Shock

Hi all,can I join please? Got a BFP on Tuesday after only deciding to ttc on 18th Oct!! Much faster than we expected but very exciting none the less. Does anyone have any advice on GPs etc? I just registered this morning at a new practice (due to moving house in the summer) and I mentioned to the receptionist that I was pregnant and she just gave me a pretty vacant look. I asked if I should book an appointment or wait and she said to wait. Now I am back home I realised that I haven't got any information about the doctors surgery at all - at my last place I got a welcome book explaining how everything works and it had a good website - this place doesn't seem to have anything! Is it worth seeing a GP straight away, or just wait until around 8 weeks? Sorry for seeming so ignorant...would like to know what to expect from the NHS I guess.

Kilicat · 31/10/2014 18:09

Fattycow I've had some very light cramps -not really like period cramps but it definitely feels like 'something is happening'. Could just be imagining it on the other hand!! Felt quite nauseous earlier in the week but not now and boobs aren't as sore either...I'm beginning to think I imagined the whole thing.

fattycow · 31/10/2014 18:40

Hi Kili. I don't go to the gp at all, made an appointment straight with the midwife. I'm seeing her for the first time at 9 weeks.

AudTheDeepMinded · 31/10/2014 18:51

All good here, still no real symptoms. I'm knackered but that's not really surprising with two small boys up at 6.20 this morning and holding a Halloween party for their friends today. I'm already in bed eating cheese on toast, Rock and Roll!
I'm not planning on seeing any HCPs for a while, probably at least a few months, unless I experience any problems. I hope all you first timers are doing ok, it's all so weird and new the first time around (sounding ancient)

Bustherb · 31/10/2014 18:52

Hi Kili, I rang the doctors surgery and told them I'm pregnant and I need to book an appointment, they confirmed my details and said the midwife sorts her own appointments and would contact me. She contacted me the next day and I have an appointment in 3 weeks (just over 8 weeks then) she then text me (I was like whattttt when she did ShockShock lol) and asked me to pick up a 'antenatal screening booklet' from my doctors surgery which I did today and it has all info about tests you can take/not take. She said to discuss with my hubby before our appointment xxxxx

JoY007 · 31/10/2014 19:27

I told my mum she is a Doc and my 3 BFFs, telling Boyfriend's parents this weekend. Everyone else will know after 1st scan in 12 weeks. I think it is best to contain for now, but hard to Smile

DearTeddyRobinson · 31/10/2014 19:48

Hi team!! Just poas about half an hour ago and after obsessive googling some investigations I appear to be due on July 9. Whee!!

Kilicat · 31/10/2014 19:58

Bustherb, thanks for the advice- I'll probably wait a couple of weeks and then make an appointment with the midwife although surprised the doctors didn't mention this at all...probably just caught them at a bad time! Does the screening booklet include some tricky decisions about tests etc?

Aud, it sounds like you're a pro at this!

DearTeddy - congratulations! Has it sunk in yet?? Looks like we're due at about the same time. Think I'm due in 10th July although wasn't paying too much attention to my last AF.

Babygirlpw · 31/10/2014 20:20

Hi Ladies
Did two pregnancy tests this am, due on 12 July I think. Second baby, happy happy!! Not sure how DD1 will cope....

MisterSafetyCatchIsNotOn · 31/10/2014 21:26

Kili I think I'm due on the 10th too! Might be a few days either side, don't have regular periods so based on lmp it would be the 3rd but I know it will be about a week later. First appointment depends on where you are I think. With DS I was in London and had to get the GP to refer me to the midwife team which took quite a while so I saw the GP at 5 weeks and got my first midwife appointment about 9 weeks. Where I am now I can call the midwives direct and will probably wait until about 6 weeks to do so as it's the referral bit that is slow usually.

Hi Baby, how old is DD? I have a 2.3 year old DS who I am already slightly worried about but also know he will love having a sibling to play with!

Congratulations Teddy, is this your first?

I still feel pretty normal fatty other than a bit wiped out, but that could just be the 2 year old with an ear infection interrupting my sleep!

I was at home this afternoon and unable to stop myself obsessively googling baby stuff, you'd think I would have got over that first time around!

Babygirlpw · 31/10/2014 22:02

DD turned 2 a couple of weeks ago. We had cousins over last weekend, with a 5.5 month old baby.....my DD was not impressed with me holding the baby and after that got quite funny if baby and I were just next to each other. But sure all will be OK and she'll love being a big sis!

fattycow · 31/10/2014 23:36

Kili, I would contact the midwife now. I contacted mine last Sunday (online form) and got an appointment for November 27th!

WiIdfire · 01/11/2014 06:01

Welcome to the new ladies - this looks like it will be a nice big club.

Pinksuitcase · 01/11/2014 07:43

Hello all,

I got my bfp last week and am expecitng No 2 on 4th July! Dd will be 2 a month later.
I saw my gp on weds and am seeing the midwife on 10th Nov. this is normally a quick appt, they give you a book of notes and things to fill in, blood forms and then see you at 10 weeks. This also gets you in the system for scans. I live in a rural area so midwifes are busy!

I'm feeling ok, apart from terrible heartburn, (but had this at the start if my last pregnancy too) which is giving me a really sore throat!

Also constantly munching green olives (sainburys basics as they dont have anything apart from oil on them) and red grapes!

Told my mum this week and my sister who is due DC2 in 2 weeks.

Wishing you all happy healthy pregnancies x

Bustherb · 01/11/2014 07:54

Yes Kili it has lots of info about tests that you can decide to have / not have, it's going to be hard decisions to make Confused xxx

Kilicat · 01/11/2014 09:18

Safetycatch / fattycow thanks for the advice. I will ring up on Monday and hopefully speak to a different receptionist at the surgery who is more helpful! Safetycatch is looks like we are due date twins although to be honest mine is a best guess!!

Has anyone else had nausea or other symptoms that have been around for a few days and then disappeared?

Congratulations to all of the new arrivals!

MisterSafetyCatchIsNotOn · 01/11/2014 09:46

I guess we have about 8 months to prepare them for younger siblings baby, hopefully that will help! Though don't think I will talk to ds about it until after the 12 week scan, his best friend has just got a baby sister so he's familiar with the concept and I don't want to cause any upset if this one doesn't stick.

I got my confirmation on a cbd this morning, it said 2-3 weeks which is more than I was expecting really, so will count today as 4+1 Smile feeling quite reassured and trying to fight the urge to tell people irl already! I have a friend's 30th birthday party at a beer festival this afternoon, could be a tricky one...

I've seen on some of the other AN threads when lurking hopefully that you can link to a google doc of the stats list, that way people can add themselves and you don't have to keep searching through the thread for the last update. Should I try to set one up for us later?

MisterSafetyCatchIsNotOn · 01/11/2014 09:51

Oh and congratulations pink! Wow that's a quick midwife app, maybe I should call mine next week after all, I was assuming they wouldn't be interested before 8 weeks. That's a lovely age gap I think, my nieces are similar and really good friends.
My DS will be 3 a couple of days before this one is due, apparently I only make babies in October!

AudTheDeepMinded · 01/11/2014 10:07

Morning Chaps, did you all survive Halloween? I got sweets in and only the neighbour's children dropped round. We are quite tucked out of the way though. I suppose I will have to eat the sweets now...
We've been up since 6am when DS1 woke me to tell me that DS2 had pee'd on the carpet. Why are we doing this again?! Off out to the park now before they eat one another.
Hope you are all ok today, still no symptoms although I think my boobs may be bigger (probably wishful thinking)
TTFN

TallGiraffes · 01/11/2014 10:11

I'm going to make my mw appointment after my 6 week scan, I can't face going through the whole booking in process all over again if things aren't going well. He fully we'll see a nice happy heartbeat and can go forward from there!

Thepurplegiraffe · 01/11/2014 10:48

Babygirl I am also due on 12th July, according to NHS. This will be dc2 if this one sticks. DD1 has just turned 1 year.

I was out last night for a night that had been planned yesterday which is why I tested before af was actually due. It was a lovely night but very late for me and now I feel awful, have a cracking headache and feel really sick. We are staying with MIL family for babysitting and they all think I am hungoverWink

DearTeddyRobinson · 01/11/2014 11:59

Morning all! This is my 2nd, DS will be 2 in January. We had some trouble TTC-ing him so we were really not expecting to get pg so fast, esp as I'm nearly 40, eek. It's so nice to feel like I kind of know what to expect this time. Last time I was really nervous plus we moved into our house when I was 9 weeks and sick as a dog! Spent most of the pregnancy in B&Q Grin

Thepurplegiraffe · 01/11/2014 14:18

Does anyone know what is the earliest you can feel nausea? I am trying to work out if it is the pregnancy or something else. I was really sick with my last successful pregnancy but not until at least 5 or 6 weeks.

sdyer · 01/11/2014 15:04

Hello everyone!

Just wondering if I can join your group please?

Expected due date 10th July. ??

sdyer · 01/11/2014 15:58

MisterSafetyCatchIsNotOn and kilicat, we're all due on the 10th July Grin

Did anyone else feel like naughty telling their parents or is it just me and my DH? this is our first one and was trying since May so we feel very blessed although its surreal ATM. I done a test on Weds using the superdrug own brand which came recommended as its really sensitive and I got an instant dark result. I done another on Friday just to be sure though LOL!
Will hopefully see the Dr on Weds but apparently they dont do much and just refer you to the midwife.

Does anyone live near Bromley, Kent?
