Hi!

After approx 5 15 BFP's ranging from super faint IC's to super
BFPS with FRER - I am due DC4 1st July Grin

Already have ds1-16y,ds2-12y, ds3-6y.

Ds3 will be 7yo before dc4. Didnt really think it was such a big gap as he still feels like young iyswim til I sat and thought about it! Shock

I am pissing on the last one tomorrow, just because I like seeing the two lines appear. Blush

TouchPauseEngage · 29/10/2014 20:29

I have a mountain of ebay cheapies and am a bit worried I might keep poas till they run out...which would probably be next year some time Grin

VirtualPointyHat · 29/10/2014 20:47

Doc was ok, but had never heard of higher dose of folic acid

Now i have to wait for midwife in 4 weeks, seems a long time to risk it.

Also jut had first hormonal melt down at DH

Fun times

MisterSafetyCatchIsNotOn · 29/10/2014 21:26

Phew, I still have a line today too, a little stronger. Anyone else have practically no symptoms yet? I am very early days (only 11 dpo today) so it's not surprising but I think it was a lot more obvious with my DS at this stage, probably mis-remembering though. I feel basically normal with slightly bigger boobs Confused
Touch I also have a cupboard full of tests so the obsession is not going to stop anytime soon! Haven't had much time to dwell on it today though as I have a very poorly DS (temp of 40 degrees earlier, was a bit of a shock!) who has been keeping me very busy on top of work. Luckily the pregnancy exhaustion hasn't really hit yet!
Virtual sorry your GP wasn't that helpful, can you speak to a midwife for advice or ask to see a different GP?

Linseyd · 29/10/2014 21:32

ive had hormonal meltdown at DP these last 2 days dont worry virtual they should think themselves lucky they dont have to go through what we do !!
does anyone know when we get the letters through for booking in ect i ha paperwork sent off monday ? xxx

TallGiraffes · 29/10/2014 21:36

I'm on higher(5mg) folic acid. What do you mean he'd never heard of it?

SaBearOz · 29/10/2014 22:27

I haven't had too many symptoms as yet except feeling a bit nauseous when woken up in the night to resettle the kids.
I did however have thrush last week which is why I guessed I was pregnant. I have only had it twice before during previous pregnancies.
I do feel tired but I have had a sick clingy toddler and a teething baby so I think I would be this tired even if I wasn't pregnant. Having my in laws staying with us next week for a fortnight and just hoping the morning sickness doesn't kick in otherwise we might have to tell them. I do however wish to tell everyone at Christmas when we are just over the 12 week mark as I think my family will be very excited as it will be the first one of my children they will get to see as a newborn due to us living overseas

MsRyanGosling · 30/10/2014 00:18

I also need higher dose of folic acid becasue I am too short for my weight Hmm
I'm currently taking 499 though as I'm too scared of being judged by the Drs and even putting off booking in with the midwife. I don't normally get anxious about anything but I guess it's just so personal Haloween Sad

Had some twinges on one side and convinced myself I have an ectopic pregnancy. Reluctant to seek help or advice in case they blame me becasue I am fat or say it's down to being fat Blush

Grip needed I think!!

Congratulations and welcome to the new mamas to be Thanks

Tall - he literally said he had never heard of it, and conuldn't find it in the BNF!

I am tempted to buy some folic acid to go with the multivit to increase my dose to 5mg myself, but so scared to do the wrong thing

TallGiraffes · 30/10/2014 07:46

Hmm you need a new GP! You can't buy the 5mg over the counter as in elderly people with a blood disorder it can be dangerous so you need a prescription. I would ring the early pregnancy unit and ask them or the midwifery team. If you need it, you need it now!

VirtualPointyHat · 30/10/2014 08:47

I thought maybe buy the 400ug ones and take 11 of those plus my multi vit, but don't think that is safe

VirtualPointyHat · 30/10/2014 11:55

Thanks for the tip TG

I called the EPU, they ere shocked GP hadnt heard of it, but will call me back later once they have spoken to their Dr.

WiIdfire · 30/10/2014 14:43

VPH - am also watching for the outcome with interest as weight being an indication for higher dose folic acid is not mentioned often, I've only found it suggested on here and one other site. Loads of other sites don't include it. Shall research some more...

TallGiraffes · 30/10/2014 16:10

VPH glad they were able to help, at least now you'll know if you need to be on the higher dose.

I'm on it because I have no large bowel so don't absorb everything I should.

VirtualPointyHat · 30/10/2014 16:20

They called back - I need it but have to get GP to prescribe

Called GP, no appointments until Monday.

Wasn't expecting to have to be a tiger for my DC so soon

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 30/10/2014 16:24

Hi! I'm due 2nd July, surprise 2nd pregnancy! Loads of symptoms which is very different from pregnancy number 1 which was pretty symptom-free. I've seen the GP already, just waiting for referral to MW, scan and endo unit :)

FluffyJawsOfDoom · 30/10/2014 16:24

Can you just double up on normal FA? (note: I know nothing about FA)

VirtualPointyHat · 30/10/2014 16:50

Fluffy - sadly not, normal is only 400ug, I need 500mg, so would be 12.5 normal tablets

Congratulations

TouchPauseEngage · 30/10/2014 18:01

waves at all the new July club members

VPH glad your getting somewhere! To those who were asking about symptoms. I felt very sick on Friday and Monday but been fine since then. Boobs are painful - not bigger (mores the pity) - but just very heavy! Tonight I my meal with friends. Wish me luck!

Bustherb · 30/10/2014 19:25

Hi girls waves

I've just found out (yesterday) that I am also pregnant!!!! WinkGrin From my workings out I think I'll be due on the 5th July. I'm not experience really any symptoms except for sore boobs and I did have a urine infection too. I'm very nervous (it's my first) I don't know what to expect! We've not been trying long well we were seeing how it went to begin with until last month we properly calculated and I'm pregnant! I can't quite beleive it. I didn't even know to take folic acid! I've got a midwife appointment in 3 weeks time. Any advice on books I can buy?xxxz

fattycow · 30/10/2014 19:32

I am awfully tired, don't sleep well at all and my boobs feel like exploding...

WiIdfire · 30/10/2014 19:44

I don't feel pregnant at all. Worried...

toastedcheesesandwich · 30/10/2014 19:46

Finally I can join in! I had a BFP on Monday and am due 9th July ish. Will be first DC for DH and I.

MisterSafetyCatchIsNotOn · 30/10/2014 20:18

Hm, that GP does sound a bit useless Virtual, can you make sure you see another on Monday? I am sure a couple more days on the lower dose won't hurt though.

I guess you are at your dinner now Touch, hope it's going well and nobody has figured it out!

Wildfire I'm not feeling very pregnant either, we can worry together! My boobs are barely sore and not any bigger than 2 days ago (though still bigger than normal). They were so obviously sore and huge by the time my period was due when I was pregnant with DS, but it is quite normal to have no real symptoms until 6 weeks in or so, I keep trying to remind myself of all those people who don't know they are pregnant until the 3rd trimester so it must be within the bounds of normal! Counting down the hours to Saturday morning when I can do a digital test which will hopefully reassure me a bit.

Congratulations toasted and Bustherb! Welcome to the thread!

Bustherb · 30/10/2014 20:54

Thank you mister! Grin Anyone else having funny feelings in their lower stomach? Now and again I feel something down there like a tiny tiny cramp but it's not a cramp, it's hard to explain. It's only now and again , thinking it could be uterus stretching maybe?xx
