Hi!

After approx 5 15 BFP's ranging from super faint IC's to super
BFPS with FRER - I am due DC4 1st July Grin

Already have ds1-16y,ds2-12y, ds3-6y.

Ds3 will be 7yo before dc4. Didnt really think it was such a big gap as he still feels like young iyswim til I sat and thought about it! Shock

Leela5 · 16/11/2014 13:26

They should be able to do that at scan sdyer, it's rubbish you couldn't get seen the other day :(

I've got midwife on tues. Same one I had last time, she's really nice and very straightforward so I'm looking forward to chatting it through with her. Not going to ask for early scan til 8 weeks.

Sarkymare · 16/11/2014 14:36

Sdyer I'm not sure about blood pressure but they will be able to give you a better guesstimate of DD than a GP can.

Has anyone else received their dates for first scan?

Number3cometome · 16/11/2014 14:50

I'm seeing the midwife on the 25th and she will refer me for mine.
I'm 5+1 so a while yet!

SophieBarringtonWard · 16/11/2014 15:55

syder the GP will just work out your EDD based on your LMP, it won't be any different to the due date calculators online. You will get more accurate dating from the dating scan around 12 weeks.

Bustherb · 16/11/2014 16:05

Sarky I haven't had a date for the 12 week scan yet although I'm seeing the midwife for the 2 hour session a week tomorrow so as far as I'm aware she will send me details to the hospital for the scan. I have booked a private scan for next Sunday - I'll be 8 weeks then xxx

WantToGoingTo · 16/11/2014 17:02

I'm hoping I will receive mine before my midwife appt as I am seeing the midwife at 9 weeks so not long before scan will be due! Af officially missed now so feeling optimistic :)

misseskimo · 16/11/2014 17:24

ginger super No I don't mind, long post warning though!

I have a few weird medical issues which the Drs have never really been able to find root cause of.

#1 I have borderline low BP (110/60 is normal for me), which would be OK for most people, but I also suffer from random "drops" in BP which could be anything from 20-40 off my normal, and therefore puts me waaaay under normal range and causes me to blackout...
#2 Around Ov time each month my BP does it's random dropping thing, and I get light-headed, nauseous, seriously crampy and exhausted for about 4days, rendering me pretty useless for anything bar sleeping...
#3 I have a borderline low immune system, so take aaagggesss to heal... Put it this way, when I had my appendix out it took me 5.5weeks to heal, and that included having to have the stitches re-done twice where my body didn't heal before the internal stitches dissolved...

Makes me sound like I should live in a bubble! But normally I can manage all of this, but atm I'm finding it difficult, so it seems that's why they've deemed me high risk! The midwife called me today to book in my first appointment (she comes to my house to do it!?) which is 3rd Dec, and asked me why I was booked in for an early scan, I told her and she was a bit confused as to why they've deemed me HR at only 6 weeks, but said to ask for copies of any notes they give me so she can put it on file.

want I'm glad their actually doing something about it all, but at the same time, it's making me and DH worry so much that we can't enjoy the moment.

purpleleaf · 16/11/2014 17:25

Seen this thread and never thought I would be able to join as this was our first proper month ttc but af due today no sign this morning so did a test and came up with BFP! This will be our first dc, it was the clear blue digital test which said 2-3 weeks but I guess according to date of last af it would count as 4 weeks? So excited but in total shock still, does not feel real yet

StoneBaby · 16/11/2014 17:30

I'm 4w today so won't hear about a scan for at least another few weeks. Obstetrician last time said I should get scanned at 7w but not sure it'll in be in my file.

No really sore boobs, but tons of nausea from waking up to falling asleep. I had the same with DS.

My GP told me to take D vitamins and said to take pregnacare. I'm already taking 5mg folic acid (and have done that for 28 months).

Sarky are you from Sark? Sorry can't stop wondering

StoneBaby · 16/11/2014 17:51

And I do have cramps similar to period pains and tommy aches like if I did too many pull ups.

Zampa · 16/11/2014 19:21

Congratulations purpleleaf! We managed it first time too, which doesn't give you much time to adjust to the idea! I'm also a bit sad about missing out on Christmas champagne but have adjusted to being teetotal quicker than I thought!

I guess your EDD is towards the end of July?

purpleleaf · 16/11/2014 19:31

Thank you zampa, yes looks like 26th July :) I know Christmas time will be very difficult to hide it, im normally very partial to a few glasses of wine so that will be a challenge for the parties / Christmas day / new year

Sarkymare · 16/11/2014 19:33

stone nope, never even heard of it? Where's that?

My username is sarkymare as I have been known to be a sarcastic bitch at times Wink

BadIdeaBear · 16/11/2014 19:39

I'm feeling pretty surreal still. Got BFP POAS on Friday (in the work toilets - keeping it classy!). We've been NTNP since last February but really very much in the lap of the gods so it is a bit of a shock. And I'm still pretty unsure whether I'm happy or not... I'm sure I'll come round to the idea. EDD seems to be 14 July!

I'm a stepmum to two and I'm 38 yo and this is my first (after saying to anyone who asked that I was never going to have kids!) so it's all feeling a bit much atm.

And as for the painful breasts and trapped wind, I'll say nothing - I'm just glad I'm not nauseous yet - although at only 5+5 I know I've probably got that to come!

StoneBaby · 16/11/2014 20:16

Sarky oh I see. Sark is one of the Channel Islands.

Congratulations badidea and purpleleaf

JoY007 · 16/11/2014 21:29

Nausea remedies that seem to work for me: salted pop corn, and I think drinking loads of water helps as well, if you are able to get past the weird tasting mouth. Salted pop corn makes you thirsty which means you drink more water.

Have a lovely week everyone. xx

SquirrelGirl78 · 16/11/2014 22:21

Anyone else mega emotional? I've cried at nearly every Xmas ad, esp the John Lewis one. Cried my lamps out at War Horse tonight. DH was out, thankfully, as I actually said "poor horsey" out loud as I sniffled. Am usually the polar opposite of this, got to be the pregnancy hormones!

Butler4 · 16/11/2014 22:47

Haha snap squirrel I cried at the sainsburys Christmas advert. Was sobbing to adverts on TV at one point! Ridiculous really but what can you do?! ??

misseskimo · 16/11/2014 23:08

We need someone on the 3rd to have one due everyday to 19th! Everytime I go to the doctors they seem to give me a different EDD!

Zampa · 16/11/2014 23:37

Grim day ...

Spots of blood leading to absolute paranoia and DP's evil ex-wife refusing access to his kids.

But tomorrow is another day!

StoneBaby · 17/11/2014 06:53

zampa fx

JoY007 · 17/11/2014 07:06

@StoneBaby I have those too.

I am seeing midwife at 10+xx then scan follows 2 weeks after. Feels like a long wait :-( time does not fly when you are expecting Wink

GingerbreadHead · 17/11/2014 07:50

Ah sleep. How I miss you. Was awake from 2-3am and then again at 6am. Eventually gave up and got up at 6.30. I'm so tired!
Oh god yes with the being emotional! I can feel myself welling up at the stupidest things!

Joy I agree, drinking water does seem to help, but it does taste horrid! I have started putting a tiny drop of cordial in with mine just to make it taste better!

Zampa hope everything is ok for you x

Is anyone not going for an early scan? I am in two minds about whether or not to go for one. 12 weeks is after Christmas for me so it would be nice to have one before then, but we can't really afford it Confused

WantToGoingTo · 17/11/2014 08:36

Ginger I am having an 'early scan' at 9+5, but my Mum's friend is doing it (Mum is an Ob-Gyn) so it will be free but they are only checking heartbeat off the record, it is nothing official and don't think I will get pics etc. I am having normal 12 week after Xmas to check for abnormalities. If Mum wasn't an ob-gyn I wouldn't be having one as like you, can't afford it
