Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 14th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 29th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates! It's a bit quiet at the moment, but with all these upduffed viroids hopefully it won't be for long!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

So, roll call below please, viroids!

Lauren that sounds pretty much like what I had at your stage. Growing pains I think! Worse when I'd overdone it or was dehydrated. Have a glass of water and a sit down Smile

laurenamium · 29/10/2014 08:29

Ah I'm glad to know its normal popz Smile I definitely need to drink more water!

Excellent news about a day on anti sickness meds boo Grin

TheBooMonster · 29/10/2014 09:28

fatty tbh cloth is a bit of a battle here, we have up on using it over night so we have disposables in the house and it doesn't matter how easy I make it to use the reusables everyone else finds the disposables easier, even after I pointed out how much the damned things cost us and all the things I'd rather spend the money on >.> I have slightly won DH over with the concept of only having to have Birth to Potty nappies in the bag when we go out with two of them as apposed to having to work out which disposable nappies belong to who when in a hurry in a changing room, though as I always end up doing the changes when out I'm not convinced I've won the battle sigh I have however said that if he doesn't start using them during the day then as I bought them all out of my wages I would sell them and buy something extravagant that I want,

JuniDD · 29/10/2014 09:45

Congrats on the girl pis, they are rather lovely.

Managed to do a v brief outline of the 31 hour epic. Will probs post somewhere on a blog and link here (if that's allowed) for the full glorious account.

Long birth story short - went into the midwife led unit, wasn't in "active labour" as only 3cm but she let me stay. Didn't dilate, and couldn't wee, didn't have any when she catheterised me so down to delivery suite as dehydrated. On a drip but kept being sick, in spite of anti-sickness meds. Got to 5cm. Getting on well with G&A. They wanted to crack on with syntocinon as it got past the magic 24 hours from waters going. Insisted on epidural. Anesthetist poised with needle when she got paged for EMCS. Another four hours on the G&A & finally got epi and syntocinon. After about two hours baby's heartbeat went crap. Only 8cm. Dr wanted me to be 10cm then forceps which I argued about. Eventually, heartbeat up & down she agreed to EMCS as I stuck at 8cm. Wheeled into theatre - man they work fast when they have to! - spinal block up to my neck and she was born. Then the real fun & games began...

Turned out I was so dehydrated my kidney function was compromised.Shock I expect that's just my body but please keep drinking now and in labour, ladies.

Am loving having her. After telling me how crap I am at sleep deprivation MrJ is the one really suffering and having to lie down constantly and sleep. Ha! He is being very good and we are managing not to row too much. She has massive feet so I've had to cut the feet off her babygrows! I'll try to keep up but once ness & furry pop we'll have to revive Just Mumming!

xx

Pisghetti · 29/10/2014 09:47

Good luck with your scan today Zyla!

I'm not decided on nappies yet. I've bought some disposables already as I've read that even with cloth you may want to use disposables at night/when out and about. DP is interested in trying out cloth - fine if he wants to manage the washing! Also his ancient plumbing probably couldn't cope with flushable liners so we'll still be landfilling a certain amount.

Glad your sickness seems to be subsiding Boo!

BothersomeB · 29/10/2014 09:54

Morning all,

Thanks for the exercise advice and reassurance about age! I don't feel or look, apparently old, but TTC makes you feel it with all the stats and advice being really negative about being 'over 40'...

Have conveniently 'forgotten my kit' for boot camp today, so unless they make me do it in my pants Wink, I've got another week to make up a reason why I have to drop out of the rest of the course. Will keep doing other exercise but think that's a bit hardcore.

Feeling really really barfy today - had to stop mid-sentence in a meeting this morning and couldn't talk again for some time without nearly vomming. Styled it out by basically ignoring it and giving my death stare like 'yeah, and? Never seen a woman retching in a meeting before?' This is not going to be easy, especially with so many pre-Christmas get togethers and piss-ups already in the diary. Am hoping we can get scans etc done super early so we can at least tell some people...otherwise I'm going to have to cop out of everything at the last minute...anyone who knows me would never fall for any no drinking bullshit!

Wow Ness - you really are about to drop...good luck!

x

laurenamium · 29/10/2014 10:08

Ah bothersome there's nothing worse than having to lie to people! I had a ladies day at the races when I was earlier and I didn't want to tell anyone. I just pretended I was drinking all day...even had someone be annoyed at me the day after for not being hungover given how much i had drank Grin it might be useful to get one person involved in it though then you both can go "rounds" and no one will pay any attention...or take a fruit shoot bottle with water in- pretend its vodka and top up your lemonade from the bar with it? My friends are really this classy Wink and didnt bat an eye lid. I even topped up a friend with my water and she didn't notice ha!

That birth story sounds eventful Juni! Glad you stayed strong enough to get your wishes across!

wilmabedrock · 29/10/2014 10:24

Yes Lauren, that does sound totally normal, I just meant if you were unsure, to set your mind at rest.

I'm all uncomfy today, can't wait until this baby turns the right way.

BothersomeB · 29/10/2014 10:26

Ooo,Lauren - I'm loving the subterfuge ideas! I did have to help my best friend through her own hen weekend when she was 2 months gone...that was a challenge - I ended up really really drunk! Looking back now, I don't know how she did it.

Have decided I'm going to tell my friend and HR Manager at work- she'll be bale to help with various getting out of office do's, lunchtime bootcamp etc.

Still in discussions with Mr B about who else to tell - he wasn't even happy that the doctor got to know! I'd like to tell my sister and her husband as we see them often and they are a good support to both of us...whatever happens. Argh - the decisions, the stress! And not even 5 weeks yet...!

wilmabedrock · 29/10/2014 10:32

Wow Juni, that doesn't sound fun. I felt pretty traumatised for a while after MiniWil's birth but am ok about it now. The memory does fade!

teejayem · 29/10/2014 10:44

I have massively over eaten this morning in a quest to ease my nausea. One bacon roll, one choc croissant, one smoothie, one pot of mango and two teas. Halloween Blush I think the motion on the tube/train is exacerbating my sicky feelings, but come the evenings I can't really face food when I get home which Mr Tee is struggling with. (I usually have the whole weeks dinners planned and prepped (Or part prepped) ) - now all I do is lay on the sofa and sip ginger cordial & nibble crackers.
Lovely news pis !
ness are you going to get WOD? I am so close to reactivating my account for the new expansion.
Thank you for the NCT tips everyone, I've signed us up to a signature course starting in April :)

Pisghetti · 29/10/2014 10:44

Ooh cross post Juni sounds like a fun day Hmm glad you're all home and ok now! DP is constantly going on at me (and DS) about how little we drink. I've upped it a lot because of the headaches I was getting but a good reminder of why it is important to keep it up

DS's dad cut the feet off the babygros - he looked like the Flintstone's baby Grin

Pisghetti · 29/10/2014 10:52

Thanks for the congrats ladies Smile

Tee I wasn't terribly sick but the train/tube would always guarantee a reappearance of breakfast. Even now they make me nauseous. Luckily I'm not in London too often. I find snoozing helps but no good for the tube and not very good at helping me get work done on the train Blush

Bother we had a family wedding that went on for three days over the August bank holiday when I was about 10 weeks. I spent a lot of the weekend walking around with the same glass of champagne/wine occasionally swapping with DP and no one noticed! Apart from my mum - I ended up having to tell her to keep her quiet. It is better if you can move around a bit, talking to different people as they won't notice you seem to be avoiding the rounds then either.

minimooo · 29/10/2014 11:15

Hi viroids! I disappeared for a few days as have been really busy with work, just caught up with all the news. Congrats to all the newbies!

lauren I'm having a worry here too! I'm 14+5 but still no sign of a bump. I'm not having any stretching pains anymore at all. So I'm trying and failing to keep calm and not let my mind run away with me.

Wow juni that sounds eventful. You poor thing having to go through all of that. Glad to hear that you're home now, and hope you can put the birth behind you and have lots of baby cuddles.

pis congrats on becoming team pink! How exciting!

We're organising our annual fireworks night for this weekend. Got loads of family coming round on Saturday night - usually good fun setting off fireworks and eating nice food. Plus will get to see my mum which will be lovely! Only usually see her every few months or so. Anyone else got plans for Halloween?

cookielove · 29/10/2014 11:34

lauren I got scans from all but the last two as he was too big!

Cymraes17 · 29/10/2014 11:42

Hello, been away at parents for a long weekend with the brood. Back home to pack them off to the other grandma, so DH and I can go to a wedding.

We have been using cloth since DC1 was a few weeks old, and havent looked back! ( using motherese stay dry and smartipants, plus got a box full of mothercare shaped terry nappies for newborn as I have had 2 in nappies at the same time) we also use cheeky wipes one of our best buys ever! My DM and MiL refuse to use them at theirs, so they have to fork out for the disposables.

Not looking forward to the 5 hour drive tomorow, ive got my sick bags at the ready, stopping for a massive supply of chipstiks and orange flavoured drinks on the way. For some reason i really crave salty things and can only drink cola or orangy drinks, water really gives me the bleughhh.

Booking apt this afternoon!

Sorry for mamoth post.

Minion · 29/10/2014 12:16

Hi gals!
Sorry can't remember a freaking thing anyone has written but I have definitely read it all, I just feel so grim today. Baby is moving non stop since 3 this morning so haven't slept tight, tummy and back pain, upset stomach, just feel meh. so I've taken a me day and by that I've watched a movie and slept like a log
But I promise in checking in too

Didn't have any weirdos at ante natal so an bingo didn't get good and in the afternoon saw midwife for 34 week app. Baby is transverse!
I assume that means breech?

Pisghetti · 29/10/2014 12:55

Funnily enough Mini DS has just text me asking if he can go trick or treating. Besides the fact he's the same height as me and I consider trick or treating at his age to be akin to demanding money with menaces, we're actually travelling down to the south to visit DP's parents so it's a big fat no! If he gets whingey about it I will no doubt play the 'crazy-rage-filled-pregnant-lady' character and be extra scary for the occasion Smile

sigh I really have to start remembering to submit my posts before going off to do actual work/eat lunch. I wrote this 45 mins ago - second time I've done that today.

Pisghetti · 29/10/2014 12:56

I think transverse means sideways - between breech and head down. Sounds uncomfortable anyway!

freshstart4us · 29/10/2014 13:28

Hello lovely viroids!

Wow - so much news!!! Juni so glad that you and your beautiful DD got through such an epic and scary birth in one piece and are home safe and sound.

Congrats to newbies and ness I hope things start moving soon!

Very quickly will update my stats:
Name: freshstart4us
Age: 40
DD almost 3
TTC since April 2014
EDD 18 June

So bother I definitely do NOT consider you old! Grin

I'm back from a whirlwind 5 day trip to Napa Valley for the wedding of my lovely maid of honour (the weather was so good, wish I could've brought it back with me!) where I actually told a load of people (the bride, obviously - BFF and all that, other good friends and anyone who tried to force-feed me alcohol! All with the proviso that it is "still very early days" but I just didn't feel up for the subterfuge.

7+0 today and suddenly need lemon and ginger tea just to get through, the thought of coffee is repulsive. I have always had motion sickness issues, but with DD it just turned into an all-day queasiness, settled only with stodgy salty food (sausage rolls are a fave). My sense of smell is off the charts too, and boobs have exploded, same as last time. It is actually rather reassuring that things seem to be going about the same, I had a very easy run with DD (up until the birth itself!) so long may it continue!

RPopz · 29/10/2014 13:28

Yup transverse is sideways along... auto C section that missy, get wiggling that naughty baby round Wink

ZylaB · 29/10/2014 13:37

Hey,

juni that doesn't sound fun, at last you're both home and will now!

Scan was all good (feel like I can breathe now!) apart from this little one being in funny positions and refusing to move. At one stage I had to get on my hands and knees and wiggle about to try and move her so we could see the spine! I don't think anterior placenta or a few funny scar patches from my years of injections helped either, but it was all good.

I feel like that was the big one, next in 7 weeks at 28 weeks :)

Going to sleep now as didn't much last night.

Minion · 29/10/2014 13:43

Ohhh maaaan!
Thought it was going too easily. MW didn't seem concerned at all so hoping it's just a temp thing. Although previous MW did say if all was good at 34 weeks then shed just stick to 3 weeks apart appointments, however she's booked me in for 2 weeks time!
Maybe that's why?
Clueless or what !

Ooh napa valley! I'd love to see the place, very jealous. Hope you had a fab time!

laurenamium · 29/10/2014 13:48

Congratulations fresh!

Does anyone have any experience of low PAPP-A? I knew something wasn't quite right. The midwife has rang today and I have low PAPP-A. Which means scans every 4 weeks after the 20 week scan, and possible early delivery. I've googled. I absolutely shouldn't have googled Confused so I've rang my GP for reassurance/ advice on what I can be doing or eating and waiting a call back!

freshstart4us · 29/10/2014 13:58

Sorry lauren never heard of that one, just googled and it sounds very scary, hope you get through to your GP soon for some more educated reassurance!
