Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 14th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 29th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates! It's a bit quiet at the moment, but with all these upduffed viroids hopefully it won't be for long!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

So, roll call below please, viroids!

Sounds fab Zyla! Grin I'm feeling v.satisfied now nursery is nearly all done - not that I've left it to the last minute!

I'm going to throw a spanner in the works here and say.... My hypnobirthing teacher lady apparently "doesn't agree with doing loads of pelvic floors during pg" ... It's under stress already for obvious reasons - and apparently having a pelvic floor which is too toned and rigid can actually impede you during childbirth... By all means do them afterwards but no need to hammer it right now.

I'm yet to decide which side of the fence I'm on about it!! Not done any... but through laziness rather than design Wink

wilmabedrock · 29/10/2014 19:46

Ooh i second the pelvic floor exercises although can't be bothered to do them myself, mine are goosed.

Min are you not uncomfy? Mine is transverse and I feel so stretched sideways and you're way further on than me. My yoga teacher says we should do cat pose (google it as my explanation will probably be shite).

Whoever mentioned swimsuits, if you get one with a ruched front then it hides a bump really well. I have an m&s non-maternity one from ages ago and have only just swapped to my maternity swimwear at 6 months as they also seem to have a bit more room in them.

Have a work dilemma. Want my mat leave to start on 5th Jan which my boss is fine with. However he is really stuck that week for cover and I kind of feel like I should offer to work a couple of days to help out. I have managed not to offer so far but feel guilty about it. Opinions? My due date is the 19th.

ZylaB · 29/10/2014 19:54

wil it sounds lovely of you to even think of it, but you've got to do what's best for you! By then you may have had enough and not bear the thought of another few days, or you may be ok and not mind. Don't feel obliged is what I mean :)

laurenamium · 29/10/2014 20:03

Wiggly I'm not sure I've said congratulations to you yet. So congratulations incase I missed you!

Wil could you offer to work on the condition you are well enough or do they need to know a definite?

I'm trying my best to be positive. Lots of scans means that they'll catch anything going wrong early and will hopefully be able to put measures in to fix it...I'm repeating this mantra over and over and staying away from google!

WigglyBraddins · 29/10/2014 20:18

wilma brill swimwear advice. Thank you.

Rpopz my ridiculously hunky yoga teacher went a bit unsure of himself and school-boy-y on Sunday when telling me that he'd asked all the teachers he knows who are pregnancy yoga trained and they'd said how important it was to be able to release your pelvic floor and "harness your down energy" when pregnant. I think the trick is to make sure you fully relax the muscles after each clench. I'll report back with what the gynae physio says on Monday.

fatty 50 a day is incredible. Non-alcoholic Wine cheers to you!

Nessalina · 29/10/2014 20:36

Popz - I am totally going to run with that theory!! Grin Anything that supports my laziness.

Wil - absolutely NOT. The week after me finishing for mat leave I left my office unable to open for 4 out of 6 days unless they got cover coz someone else was on holiday. I'd rather have not, but they'd had plenty of warning, and once I'd told HR my leaving date it would have been a bugger to change. It's not your problem!!

wilmabedrock · 29/10/2014 20:48

Thank you for advice and you're right, I'm sure he'll figure something out. Would have to give a definite answer unfortunately. I kind of think if I offer in an 'if you're stuck way', he probably just wouldn't organise anything else so probably best not to.

Lauren I don't know what this is. Is it some protein deficiency or something? It sounds really scary, hope you're ok. It's so strange that so many times we know something isn't quite right. I think you're doing the right thing, stay positive and away from Dr Google. Also call midwife the second you feel anything is amiss, don't feel like you're bugging them or anything.

Who is doing the tree wall sticker? Ness or zyla? Takes bloody ages to put all the leaves on Grin .

couldbeanyone · 29/10/2014 20:51

Hi viroids and congrats to all the new people Grin

DH and I had a rare meal out together and now I feel completely stuffed, gaviscon downed and hopefully will be able to sleep...food was good though...

How soon did other 2nd timers feel movement? Am nearly 15w and getting some odd feelings which I'm wondering if they are early movements or more wind

laurenamium · 29/10/2014 20:55

Wil it's a hormone that they tested for at the 12 week nuchal blood test thingies. They test for 2 apparently and one of mine is low. I asked if there was anything I could be eating or doing but apparently not Hmm from what I gather it affects the placenta and how long it's useful for mainly

I weed a bit when I sneezed today. Definitely putting pelvic floors on my to do list Confused

Nessalina · 29/10/2014 20:58

I think me & Zyla both have trees but different ones! Grin There are about a million leaves and I'm so OCD it'll take me forever, lol! We did the branches and animals today, going to start on leaves tomorrow.

Could - I didn't feel definite movements til 18 weeks I think... To be honest I've already forgotten so much, wish I'd kept a diary. To be fair I could probably just reread all our threads!!

OP posts:
wilmabedrock · 29/10/2014 21:01

Ah sneezy wees. They are commonplace round here Grin .

Oh Lauren that's tough when you feel like there's nothing you can do to help. Good they're keeping an eye on it though. Maybe they'll deliver baby early then?

could I felt movements really early this time - before 12 week scan.

freshstart4us · 29/10/2014 21:04

Wiggly - similar gruesome hurried forceps delivery, my pelvic floor got shredded despite my best efforts. Took me ages to get back to some semblance of continence, still not 100% but at least it gives me hope if it happens again. I'll still go vaginal over c section though, given half a chance.

Bother as soon as I got my BFP both times I've just immediately stopped running (used to do 10km standard weekend runs, 30 min treadmill intervals at the gym). I know it is probably illogical but I just didn't want to risk "shaking" my new inhabitant loose! Your heart and other organs are working overtime with increased blood flow and all the magic your body is doing to make a person, I think winding back on the strenuous stuff is the smartest choice.

Ness so impressed with your decorating efforts! Can't wait to see pics!

Wilma working to 38 weeks is more than enough. Dealing with commute in freezing conditions when you're huge and work stress in an understaffed office at that point - I think he can make other arrangements.

Could I'm not anywhere near there yet but understand 2nd time you can often feel movement much earlier so you're prob on the money! Smile

TheBooMonster · 29/10/2014 22:49

On the subject of pelvic floors what about those probes found a tens machine with a probe attachment for after birth and was wondering if it's worth while or just a bit gimmicky... www.babycaretens.com/acatalog/Elle-TENS-Plus.html

freshstart4us · 29/10/2014 23:23

Boo I used one of these for several weeks when the physio told me I had "no pelvic floor to speak of". If your starting point is very low it can be necessary but ultimately consistently doing 3 times a day, 3 types of exercises is what sorted me out.

wilmabedrock · 30/10/2014 05:07

Fresh you've totally convinced me with the commuting point. Smile

I had great pelvic floors before labour which I think really helped during it. They told me they would be taking me to theatre for delivery but I managed to push enough that they didn't have to although they did leave me pushing for much longer than is allowed. However back in the day my mum was told that her labours were so difficult because she was too toned Shock .

laurenamium · 30/10/2014 06:41

Yes wil it's very likely they'll bring it early- just hopefully not too early so it's undercooked. I had a big wobble last night in front of DP which I think he needed to see- he hasn't wanted to listen to anything about it. But we've agreed to be positive about it all and if I eat super healthy or something it'll make me feel like I'm doing something useful at least!

I have an unexpected day off today Grin so a day with DD and the horses is on the cards. I'm really looking forward to it!

ZylaB · 30/10/2014 06:43

ness I'm sure I played with a mages called nessalina before! What server were you on again?

Minion · 30/10/2014 07:01

Yes it was me who wasn't very bumpy till about week 28, if I'm sitting down nobody can tell either. Then I get up and whoop, there it is. And wil, no not really uncomfy. I think the MW I had on tues was a bit slap dash tbh. She didn't spend anytime doing measurements, feeling around etc. when she got her tape measure out she in no uncertain terms told me I was 29-30 weeks... Well I'm 34 weeks so obvs I panicked.
Asked how it's possible baby has shrank from last appointment so she measured again, lo and behold she's mixed up the top of my fundus with the transverse baby.
Great.
Think it may have moved as last night there was some definite 'let's squeeze the crap out of moms bladder every 30 minute' action and the heavy feeling down there came back.

We built the cot last night. Got a cotbed and the poor mite will look tiny in it.
This shit getting real son!

Not on mat leave yet, probably start my leave around nov 13 or so...
Roll. The. Fuck. On!

teejayem · 30/10/2014 08:09

You know zyla I was thinking the same? - nessalina seems really familiar? My main is/was a shadow priest - Jollie - when I was an über player and raiding the guild I was with was called the companion cube and we were on Eonar... Migrated to raven crest? When MOP dropped, not sure where I'll go for LOD. Thinking if I preorder then I could maybe work on dualspeccing Jollie, healing was never my thing but so handy for gate crashing other people's dungeons!

puts nerd back in box

9 weeks today! Toot toot!

RPopz · 30/10/2014 08:16

Sorry I didn't do a proper catch up yesterday! You're all so chatty!!

Juni - that sounds pretty epic!! How's your renal function now? Hopefully no lasting damage.

Lauren as far as I'm aware low papp-a hormone is just an indication of slow growth/ low birth weight. You'll get extra growth scans and monitoring. Nothing major to worry about. Stay away from Dr Google!! Wink

I'm nearly 31 weeks and people have only in the past couple of weeks started to think I'm obviously showing/ bumpy!! Think it just depends on your build, not necessarily how big baby is/ will be.

Mr P is fucking me off again. After making his version of an effort on Saturday night and Sunday. Hardly seen him this week as rushed straight to antenatal classes from work on Monday, didn't get home til 10 Shock Tuesday he was working 12 hours and I was at Lazy Daisy in evening. Yesterday he worked 12 hours again. Came home at quarter to 9, announced he was going to eat tea and have a quick shower and then we could "snuggle up" .... Eats tea. Sits on sofa playing on his phone for 45 minutes. Mucks about upstairs for a bit. Gets in bath and sits there with his book for 30 minutes... I go in for the loo and he says "oh I'm just finishing this and then having a shave and then I'll be out". I get in bed with my book. Another 40 minutes passes... I go in to loo again - he's still sat there, reading a different book!! Unshaven! Hot tap going to refill his bath he's been stewing in for over an hour. I get fucked off and go to bed to sleep. Apparently then he cottons on and is in bed 10 minutes later but, Fuck him. It's gone 11 and I'm knackered. AIBU viroids??? Some days I honestly think he wouldn't notice if he came home and I'd given birth!! How the fuck are we supposed to maintain a relationship with a screaming new born when he hardly bothers now? Hormones....

FurryScoob · 30/10/2014 08:33

Congratulations to the newbies & viroids with lovely scans!

lauren not heard of anything like that before but if your getting loads of extra monitoring hopefully they can keep on top of any problems

juni sounds like an scary birth but glad your both home safe

rpopz I know exactly how you feel, the closer we get to the birth the more time DP spends faffing about & reading shit on his phone. His mum knows how much it's pissing me off so she's been helpful & bought him an I pad for Christmas so he's not on the phone all the time! Angry if he's on that & ignoring me & a 4-6 week old DD at Christmas he will be living in the shed. I've had more conversations with my cat about this baby than DP!

wilmabedrock · 30/10/2014 09:31

Both MrWil and I are quite bad for being on our phones. I quite like my own space at night after getting back from work tbh Blush . If I haven't been working then I get annoyed though.

Furry, I got a bit ragey after MiniWil was born as I felt like I was doing everything. I think probably this time we need to have a calm chat before the birth about division of duties as it's not so easy when you're knackered with a newborn screaming in your ear. MrWil seems to think that when he's working, that's his job done and he should be left in peace afterwards. I don't think he sees my job as a 'proper job' although he would never admit it out loud. But it pisses me off because we leave the house before he's even up in the morning. Alot of couples I know have a rule that Dad does bathtime which I think is a good one. Wish we had done that from the start but I'd never get away with making him do it all the time now.

FurryScoob · 30/10/2014 09:49

We've already had a chat wil he's promised to do his share, I don't mind him chilling out when he comes home, I just get annoyed at the 'urg' noises he makes when I'm talking to him & then get moaned at because I don't tell him stuff!

On a lighter note, I've got a garden full of pigeons shagging, threesomes & everything happening out there! Poor Mrs pigoen looks knackered Smile
