Worst. Night. Ever.

This (as DH would say) sucks the hairy pink fat one.

Find myself so jealous of you Winterlover, 39+1 here and no symptoms whatsoever. Am quite tearful/hormonal....shouldn't I be feeling something in Wk 39???

Meanwhile its becoming so debilitating. Its like I have all the shit parts and none of the exciting parts are starting at all!

ladydolly · 26/10/2014 09:46

Hi Imbrian, working til 4 days before??!! I salute you, I regret even going to 14 days before! Mine was never breech but she's still moving between head down, oblique and ocassional transverse but at 38+3 the vast changes are fewer now so mostly oblique head down. Midwives not worried so I'll spend lots of time on my ball! I think some others have had babies move into the right position though.

ImBrian · 26/10/2014 10:14

Lady dolly our maternity leave is pants, so the further up to due date I get the more time I get afterwards. It was initially till due date but I gave in and said I'd finish the Friday instead of the Tuesday.

The midwife mentioned baby being in a unstable lie and possible hospital till it's born due to the risk of prolapsed cord. I'm sure I'll find out more when I see them Thursday. I was told I'd have a scan at 36 weeks to check position if he's still not head down. This is baby number 5 so I have no muscles left and I think he's just enjoying the space.

Annrose my last dc was born just after 39 weeks and I had no signs at all till I got into bed and my waters went. Hopefully it'll get going for you soon.

These last few weeks are awful!

Kantha · 26/10/2014 11:13

After an hour back in bed the twinges have eased up although walking around is feeling fairly uncomfortable. So maybe not the sign of anything starting. Confused It was probably just wishful thinking. We have the PILs arriving later on for half term to help out. In an ideal scenario I would get this baby out before I have MIL under my feet making 'helpful' comments.

Anna - don't despair. This pregnancy has been the only one with twinges and cramps. I have been feeling like this for weeks now. With DS2 I had nothing until contractions started on the morning that he was born, which, at 39+3 is the same as I am today. Shock

Greenstone · 26/10/2014 11:34

Christmas cake in oven and am now back in bed after a crap night here too. Been doing too much lifting and bending and back is sore. Hot water bottle now applied, lovely. Weather is awful here, anyone else?
Also thinking of bikini wax today but can't face stripping off in a salon so may attempt to - don't laugh - self-administer. Have a big list of jobs I want to do this coming week and have this idea that the baby will 'know' not to arrive before then. Which is total crap of course, and meanwhile our room needs a deep cleanse and the cot needs to be finished....etc.

Greenstone · 26/10/2014 11:36

Congrats maths I meant to say! Mind yourself after those hard few days in hospital and enjoy lovely baby :)

Annarose2014 · 26/10/2014 11:48

Thanks for the support all, how I hope thats the way it goes for me. I've been letting myself get paranoid it means I'm going to go 12 days over or something!

DH went out and bought sausages and the Sunday Times, which helped. Grin

I couldn't be bothered with the state of my minge. I've attended a few births as part of my training and I can't even tell you how little I noticed the mothers minge. So I figure no-one will notice mine!

Petal26 · 26/10/2014 12:54

No extra hour in bed in this house either, we managed a trip to the play park before getting to the supermarket at 10am when it opened!

Thanks weeonion I'm alright. Feel like I cried all day yesterday, hopefully out of my system now.
I am struggling at the moment as this nesting instinct is overwhelming. I am aware that I am being very controlling and I feel like I need to do everything myself so that I know that it has been done properly. DH is getting the brunt of it at the moment and I haven't been able to let him do anything, I feel like I need to do it myself, finding it difficult to relax. Hopefully I'll chill out a bit when baby arrives and I'll realise that I can't do everything myself!

winter I've had an increase in discharge and cramps over the last few days too, hopefully things won't take too long. If this baby is less than 13 days overdue then I'll be happy as that beats last time!

WinterLover · 26/10/2014 13:11

petal thats reassuring about the discharge. Im clueless on anything past 36wks Grin still can't believe I'll be 39wks on tuesday!

ImBrian · 26/10/2014 15:46

Is extra discharge a good thing then? Never noticed it with my last pregnancies but it seems to have picked up this last few days.

Braxton hicks are annoying the hell out of me, been having them all afternoon plus something has been digging in my cervix so I'm having a bath to make them go away. I had them at this point with my last dc so nothing to even get excited about.

Petal26 · 26/10/2014 16:28

Imbrian I think some people 'may get an increase in discharge towards the end'. I hope I am towards the end Wink
I'm getting excited with every tightening and pain as I didn't have any Braxton hicks last time, can't help it!

Annarose2014 · 26/10/2014 16:36

I've had an increase in discharge but I hadn't noticed till you said it. Its been such a part of my life for so many months....Hmm

Also, TMI, but I am pooing every day for the last three days! Whats that about?? Aren't I supposed to be constipated or something?!

Still in pyjamas, unable to do anything today but alternate reclining on couch/bouncing on ball. Baby is hugely massively uncomfortable under my ribs and I feel shocking. Its like its too big for my body!

I had to text my Dad to tell him I wouldn't be over to visit him till later as I was very tired and not great today. Got a "poor lonely me, lying here with no visitors" message back. He hopes I'll be in later on "for the company". He does care about me certainly, but old men can be extraordinarily self-absorbed, can't they?

bunnykitten · 26/10/2014 16:57

Hello! I found you! I've been a little busy, baby James Isaac was born on 24 Oct at 2.07am weighing 6lb 11oz! We're all fine, although he was 10 days early and we nearly didn't make it to the hospital in time, I was 7cm dilated when they admitted me! I'll post more details (nothing gory!) once I've recovered a bit more!

Hope everyone is well !

FTMK · 26/10/2014 17:07

Gorgeous bunny kitten and congrats to maths as well. Starting to seem real! Well done to all those who've managed to hang on and commiserations to all those who are near term with no signs!

Have been lurking but too tired to post recently. Have just started mat leave - was very ready for it! And in good news am still diet controlled for GD and scans all good so they're letting me go to term before induction so not early. I'm to have a stretch and sweep at 39 weeks. I also bumped into the diabetes midwife and she said I could maybe go to MLU if I went into spontaneous labour. Unfortunately I didn't see the consultant and first appt she has is when I'm 38 weeks. So hoping to pop in the 2 week window between 38 and 40 if consultant agrees.

I've had backache and some tummy cramps at night and today have had low stomach pains. Also feeling like I'm constipated even tho I'm not. Fingers crossed for hanging on a bit. Although I do have to try and hand express from now so that might set things off? Who knows!?

Thehedgehogsong · 26/10/2014 17:10

Congratulations Bunnykitten what a gorgeous little one!! I hope you're having lovely bonding time together.

Annarose i hope you don't feel too guilty about your dad, nothing you can do, you need to rest! Could he get a cheap portable DVD player?

I too am visiting the toilet frequently! It usually follows a few big BH contractions and a period type pain, a couple of times a day. Today I had to call off a shopping trip as the tightenings were getting very uncomfortable. Thank goodness I've finished work!

Kantha · 26/10/2014 17:21

Anna I'm sorry that was his response. Try not to take it to heart. It sounds like you are a wonderful daughter to him. Right now you need to put yourself and your baby first. Thanks

ImBrian · 26/10/2014 17:42

Congratulations bunny, he's lovelySmile

MrsY87 · 26/10/2014 18:06

Congrats bunnykitten he's adorable!

weeonion · 26/10/2014 19:11

Ooooh bunny!! Congrats - he is adorable! Can't wait to hear all about it!
Annarose - you have done loads for yr dad and as you say - he is probably just wanting some company. Do him good to see that you have to look after urself too.
Good to see some folks back on here - fmtk - glad its going well.

Sounds like lots of twinges, pains and beginnings of latent / proper labour???

Have felt nought really. Strong braxtons - but they have been going on for weeks so not new. I know baby is still not engaged - on the brim but has been moving down today a few times. When it happens - oooof!

Feeling emotional - every time I look at DD I get big surges of love and want to cry, thinking how I will miss all the just her and I times...

amy83firsttimer · 26/10/2014 19:23

Annarose2014 - take some time for you -you deserve it.
Also, 2-3 poos a day here!!!

bunnykitten massive congratulations, he's super cute.
Welcome back I'm Brian and FTMK.

WinterLover · 26/10/2014 19:31

Evening ladies Grin

Congrats bunny another squishy baby!

DS is fast asleep, so time to chill for a bit. Getting some random pains but nothing that makes me think labour is on its way Sad

haventgotaclue1 · 26/10/2014 20:44

Who else feels absolutely fit to burst now? Surely it can't just be me! Almost 37 weeks and I reckon bump has expanded hugely in the last week... I really don't think my skin will stretch anymore Confused

Am finding it increasingly difficult to find any position that's vaguely comfortable - standing up for too long (anything more than 45 mins...) is a killer on the back; so alternate between the sofa and bouncing around on my ball....DH is getting more impatient to meet Bean, but I think I'd like another week yet!

Bunnykitten he's lovely! Congratulations Smile

Kantha · 26/10/2014 20:49

Bunny congratulations! Looking forward to hearing the whole story. Sounds exciting!

Petal26 · 26/10/2014 21:26

Congratulations bunny, he's lovely Smile

Just back from 'steak and sweet' night at a nearby pub with friends, very rare night out. Didn't manage to finish the 10oz steak but got close, got to feed baby obviously Grin

Don't know how DD managed considering it was about 2 hours after her normal bedtime when we got back. I know how you feel weeonion, she is my superstar, I feel bad for her that she's going to have to share me (not in a big headed way, you know what I mean!)

WorkFreeWannabe · 26/10/2014 22:58

Congrats to both Maths and Bunny. Both gorgeous names!! Grin

Didn't sleep well at all. Extra hour was completely wasted. Woke up around 2am and had a massive row with DH over something stupid. He misheard a sarky comment I made and had a rant which I wouldn't let go. A mixture of me being ratty and tired plus hormones. Didn't even want to speak to him this morningConfused

Been in absolute agony today. BH have stepped up a gear. Stomach cramping away, kicks to my ribs, plus shooting/ stabbing pains down below. I'm half expecting to find a show every time it go to the loo as the increased discharge is making me paranoid. Shock

Hopefully tonight and tomorrow are better.
