Ha ha! That's not all I had to say........

Wow, busy day on the thread. Welcome fruitbadger - sorry for constant lack of individual responses, always on my phone.

DH and I have nested big time today which was lovely - he's helped me chuck loads of crap out and even had a duster in his hand at times. He's been off all week with me so that's why I've been a bit quiet.

Been having what might be BH or "lightning crotch" more and more and still hoping baby's on time or early.
Has anyone checked to see if there's a postnatal thread yet? could maths be hiding there?

Evening all!!

Hi to you fruitbadger!

Ladysollg - that is fab news. So pleased for you. I guess all yr time is now spent on yr birthing ball!!

If anyone has found a good sleeping upright position / solution - please share!!

I have been trying to go swimming - well floating, every day. One of the times I get comfort from achey joints. Eejit of a pool attendant stopped me today to ask when I planned to stop. Hmmm, I dont, is there a problem? He hmmed and based and the confessed he was worried he would be on duty when I went into labour. I think he has had his ideas on childbirth from the movies!

Midwife today - not my usual as she was attending a home birth!!! Head down but not engaged ) at brim but happy with that. Jeez, had to practice relaxed breathing when she was feeling around tho.
They would like me to start monitoring at day care unit every 3 days and apparently have moved my induction from tomorrow to Monday. That's nice of them, given I won't be taking that option, have never discussed nor confirmed it with them!

Hope you all have peaceful evenings... Xx

weeonion I cannot believe they are discussing induction with you as if its a matter of course when you're not even due till tomorrow!

Its so bizarre how normalised it is! I was up on the wards this evening to visit my Dad (who will be discharged next week, thanks all for asking) and one of his Nurses said "Ooooh look at you, you're ready to pop! When are you due?" I told her it was next Saturday and she said "Are they going to induce you?"

WTF??!

I realise my appearance may be a bit cartoonish now as I waddle down the corridor....but thats what heavily pregnant women look like! Its normal!

WorkFreeWannabe · 24/10/2014 21:59

Twiglet, I mainly used this link
www.babycentre.co.uk/what-to-pack-in-your-hospital-bag, together with bits it picked up from MN threads.

I've gone for overkill with 4 bags I like to be prepared with 2 of everything (labour, dad's bag, hospital stay bag and coming home bag for me and baby) although I should only have 1 with me at any one time. DH will have them in the car or will be awaiting my instructions to bring them in from home.

Welcome FruitBadger!

I've taken up walking now which is an achievement for me I get the odd twinge during which is liveable, but then I remember I have to walk back Shock. Must remember to take Oyster card in case I can't make it home one day

Whenwillwe3meetagain · 24/10/2014 23:11

Hi I was on the first threads but wasn't on the updated list. I'm also due on 20 Nov w DC1.
Baby has v big head and big tummy and legs do extra scan next week to decide if they will induce of maybe c section.
Finished work on tues and not missing London commute a bit! Need to pack hospital bag this weekend.

Anyone going to the Baby Show at Olympia this weekend? I have some comp tickets but the two friends I had asked can't come so message me if you want the tickets.

Strawberryfield12 · 25/10/2014 06:27

Hot chocolate at 6am is a pregnant woman's treat!
Slept all the way till now, so went downstairs to get a mug of hot chocolate for the few hours reading time while DH wakes up at 8 or 9am.

lady great news!!

Is there anybody else on the thread living with extremely early Christmas feeling? I think I am to blame myself... In the run up to mat leave I decided I would sort out the presents before the arrival (maybe only not for the baby as would like to see her 'in life' before buying something), so that afterwards I can focus on the baby and don't have to fret about anything else. And now since I am off work and some shops got their Christmas stuff out and I am looking around for presents, I am in a trouble! If this goes like this I will end up putting up the Xmas tree in couple of weeks...

haventgotaclue1 · 25/10/2014 07:03

Yep Strawberry I'm in the same boat as you: have already bought some Christmas presents and know what I need to get for the others! I just want to get it all sorted before bean arrives as I have a feeling that Christmas shopping will be the last thing on my mind in a few weeks. In fact yesterday I even made the Christmas cake! Grin

Oh, and there's nothing wrong with hot chocolate at 6am....I had a slice of toast at 4.20am!

Strawberryfield12 · 25/10/2014 07:19

havent cannot wait DH to get up for breakfast though. Had some milk to expire soon so yesterday made crepes with ricotta and raisins filling and now dreaming about having them. With chocolate sauce on top, obviously.

For the most of pg I have been constantly snacking with Leibniz dark chocolate cookies ( local tesco must have made fortune on me!), but few weeks ago I moved over to Brasil nuts in dark chocolate, even considering to have a pack in the hospital bag Blush.

The way it goes my baby will be requesting chocolate instead of breast milk...

utopian99 · 25/10/2014 07:46

strawberry I really need to sort Christmas and keep failing. Impossible to get any inspiration for adults this year.

Our day nanny's mum is a midwife who is quite active/pro women's concerns for birth and they're going to have a stand at the baby show. Think her surname is Duncan..

36 + 6 today and on a hen do in York. V exciting, but bump had better not arrive as I cleverly left my notes, bag etc in London.. Hmm

anna good news on your dad!
twiglet v impressed you're still riding. Think my pelvis would fall apart at this rate - although am still going to the gym (to scare the other users as much as for exercise)
weeoinion you could be next! I still think it's ridiculous how keen they are to induce. I held on for 12 days and know a few others who refused until it came at 10-14 days, and they're all fine.

WinterLover · 25/10/2014 08:01

Haventgotaclue It means 3/5ths of the babys head is in your pelvis. Its a good sign, although mines been like that for weeks!

weeonion thats nice of them to inform you of your induction Hmm

I wrote alovely long reply on my phone yesterday whilst having rest only to drop my phone on me and lose the whole post. I wasnt impressed.

Absolutely nothing to report here, after weeks of false starts etc I have no signs labour is coming. I really do think this baby is going to be the total opposite to its brother and i will need inducing at 40+14! That and that its a stubborn baby who doesnt like to be told what they are doing by anyone!!

happypotamus · 25/10/2014 08:37

I'm not on the list (can I be?), but am due 2nd Nov. 39 weeks tomorrow, but DD was already born by this point in my last pregnancy. Managed to avoid having to share my birthday with my baby.

I was full of plans and good intentions to have Christmas sorted before the baby is born, but it hasn't happened. I've run out of time and money is tight, but I am dreading the thought of taking my newborn to town and braving the shops.

Strawberryfield12 · 25/10/2014 08:43

utopian for the difficult people I very often find ideas on Notonthehighstreet. There are a lot of things which can be personalised, so even a simple, practical thing can eventually turned into a funny and unique present for particular person. They've got those "presents for him" and "presents for her" so there have been cases when browsing their website has led to ideas about things on other websites as well.

Anybody can suggest any other good websites for xmas presents search?

moggle · 25/10/2014 09:23

Hey all, found you. Still bumbling along here, just finished first week of leave. Turned out to be way more tiring than just sitting in front of a computer all day!! Got some cooking done, cleaned the house, and sorted most of the nursery furniture and newborn clothes though, so hoping next week will be less busy.
Have started getting pretty puffy hands and feet now but can't complain too much as have been lucky this whole pregnancy with side effects! BP still low on Wednesday at least, so not worried from that POV. Think I may need to pop into town and buy some ugly wide fitting shoes though today!
winterlover really thought you might've popped by now! Anyone else feel we're in the calm before the storm?! Wonder if any babies will make an appearance this weekend :-D

weeonion · 25/10/2014 09:45

Morning all!! Its a grey wet Saturday here. Been up most of the night with combo of restlessness, aches, nausea and hippy tummy. A new delightful wrinkle.decided to head to shops for fresh baked bread at 7am,only to find I'd left car lights on and now have flat battery. Pants!!!
Need to get it sorted as have to get DD to drama school for 1.30 and as its 6 miles away - dont fancy a public transport hike! Kicking myself but sure, these things happen!!

Strawberry and others - I have also been buying Xmas pressies for months. Another one not fancying shops with newborn. Have most of dd's bought infor her and pressie is to be a corn snake so can't get that yet!
Winter - I thought bubba would have arrived but its a good thing he / she is so comfy in there!

Utopian - have a fab weekend away!

pinkgirlythoughts · 25/10/2014 10:30

strawberry I've done a lot of Christmas shopping for DS this month, so there's less to do next month, but now I'm skint til payday next Friday! Have had to pilfer the bills account so I can do some food shopping and put petrol in the car Blush

pinkgirlythoughts · 25/10/2014 10:34

The Christmas bargains thread on here is good for present ideas- I found a lot of links on there that have given me ideas for other things that I know would appeal to some of my friends/family too.

Annarose2014 · 25/10/2014 11:22

Have not thought about Christmas. It'll probably be "jumpers from M&S" this year. Fuck it!

I'm 39 weeks today. Totally staggered by that. Its insane!

So as per the advice in the breastfeeding workshop I attended, I've started trying to hand express. The idea was that its best to master it before baby comes, as you're too flustered to master it afterwards. Also, for the first feed if you express a few drops baby smells it and goes mad latching on.

But its so hard! I'm getting some micro-droplets but nothing more! Will keep persevering as the first couple of times I got nothing so maybe they're starting to "warm up" now.

Oh btw, anyone who's off the expectant list feel free to add themselves - its only a copy & paste job!

Petal26 · 25/10/2014 12:54

Emotional mess, crying my eyes out. Builders been here since 8am changing worktop, sink and tap in kitchen. Have spent ALL week cleaning (am in super nesting mode) and the mess is unbearable. I know they have to make some mess but seriously... Sad

catg83 · 25/10/2014 15:05

Petal26- oh how I feel you. 37+3 today and we have so so much to diy to do. I have spent the morning on hands and knees filling behind skirting boards, touching up paint on a feature wall and all the jobs I can actually do. OH is now sawing away at little wedges of wood to fill in gaps and drilling. Need to get this room done to move furniture in and then can get to baby stuff to even be able to pack a hospital bag. Needless to day there have been hormonal tears about all of this. X

blamber · 25/10/2014 15:40

I've already started my christmas shopping too. It feels a bit weird so early on, but I have now seen more and more christmas decorations going up in the shops, so I'm starting to get in the mood! Also planning to do online shopping mainly after the baby's been born.

Today we've started doing the nursery. Finally! It does mean that the dining room which we just redecorated and looked all neat and tidy Is full of stuff again. Hopefully it won't be for long.

The mucogel I got for heartburn is not as bad as it sounds! It tastes like milk of magnesia but is a lot more effective. So the heartburn is going down now. Had a big dizzy spell in the night though. I got up for a wee and tried walking to the bathroom but kept falling to the right. Was still dizzy getting back into bed and this morning, but luckily it's going down now.

Strawberryfield12 · 25/10/2014 16:04

Thank you pinkgirl! Just used Molton brown code for DH Smile

haventgotaclue1 · 25/10/2014 18:20

Strawberry "Brasil nuts in dark chocolate" - OMG!!! I don't want them, I NEED them!!!! Grin - what a good shout, will have to send DH out to get some NOW!

Thanks Winter - that makes sense (re the 2/5ths stuff) - MW said bean was highly unlikely to move now (fingers crossed!).

Petal really feel for you...but it will be worth it!
