Morning all!!

workfree - glad all went well.

WorkFreeWannabe · 03/11/2014 09:52

Thanks for checking on me everyone - definitely a lazy relaxing day for me today!

I'm on BP pills anyway, but they should have upped the dose at my last appointment. I've got another appointment today at 3 so I'll discuss it all then.

Welcome Saz!

CraziesTogether · 03/11/2014 10:19

Congrats to the other new mummies crazybit & kantha.

We are home enjoying peace and quiet. Hospital wards are flipping awful, after my lovely calm water birth I had to get transferred to the main hospital to sort out a minor complication. But the bright lights, noise and chaos of the ward were more painful than the birth itself lol!

DD is Delphine Mae, Nn Delphi and is an absolute delight! I'm just settling into BF and would advise to stock up on bottles of fluids and easy access snacks to keep your energy up. I have a stinking migraine from not enough nutrition which I also suffered with in early pregnancy :( the only way to get through it is grazing alllllll day :)

Good luck ladies and stay focused on your gorgeous babies just around the corner xx

Thisisimpossible · 03/11/2014 10:54

Pretty name Crazies Smile. We finally settled on a boy's name last night that we are both really keen on, but my gut instinct is that it's a girl so that's not going to be much use if it is!

Welcome Sazhoopz

No more BH here, just feel really rough and sick today. Baby woke me up this morning with an energetic bout of hiccups Grin Have some freelance work to be getting on with so I'm hoping it'll take my mind off the vomity feelings.

Happy Monday to you all!

amy83firsttimer · 03/11/2014 11:09

Got a weird question - for about the last 3 days I've.been.getting colostrum from either nipple but it's much much easier from the right boob. Does anyone think this is going to mean that I have issues with lefty???

OP posts:
FTMK · 03/11/2014 11:24

Congrats crazies, crazybit and kantha - getting hard to keep up now. Getting bits of backache and v tight Brixton hicks when in bed but nothing else. On the RLT and hand expressing as advised for GD baby. Amy I'm finding R boob is much more productive than left - tried swapping which one I start with but doesn't seem to make a difference. I'm t the gd clinic on Wednesday so I might ask to see a midwife and see if she can advise? I'm only getting a couple of M&S from R but more like 1ml or less from L. Was going to have a Google as well. I'll let you know if I find anything about it.

FTMK · 03/11/2014 11:25

M&S is mls clearly!

Dizzylizzie29 · 03/11/2014 12:24

Yay for all the healthy happy babies!
I still have 17 days to dd and 11 days of work. Sat here now feeling uncomfortable with period pains, hoping it's just from baby moving head down abit lower and nothing else. Really don't have the time to deal with an early baby. Any time after the 20th is fine by me!
Midwife appt tomorrow which are pretty uneventful only ever there for 10 minutes but least I get a later start at work Wink

Annarose2014 · 03/11/2014 13:00

Dizzylizzie add yourself to the list!

I don't think there's a PN thread, though its a bit messy looking over there so may have missed it. Hope there's one before I pop as I won't have a clue what i'm doing. Though I noticed some ppl do FB postnatal groups instead, but I don't do FB so that wouldn't work for me.

I still wonder how our early friends got on! Shame they never visited back after going over to FB but what can you do.

After all DH's talk last week of not wanting to DTD anymore cos baby was disconcertingly HUGE like a bloody toddler in there, he has er...taken one for the team today. Bless him. Hope it gets things moving, though as he pointed out its only a shag, its not magic! Grin

Still, am wearing a maternity pad in a fit of optimism. Fingers (if not legs) crossed!

catg83 · 03/11/2014 14:13

Hello all. Hope everyone is as comfortable as possible today.

Not much going on today. Sorting out some crafty bits to make room for the donations from friends. Mum coming to visit tomorrow which I think will be nice. depending on how mine and her moods work!

MusicAndBooks · 03/11/2014 15:23

Hi Annarose2014 I'm not v good at this technology lark so please could you add me to the list -DC2 a surprise due 26 November so I'm right near the end of the list!
Thank you

Postnatal thread November 2014

Petal26 · 03/11/2014 16:10

Hi saz you must be due on Sunday like me Smile
My DD was late too so I'm not looking for a repeat!

ladydolly · 03/11/2014 16:13

Lovely day, slept until 10.30 (after being up for hours in the night with this damn cough). Took myself off to the cinema for what may be the last time in months if not years, framed some pictures, slow roast lamb in the oven and negotiated a home exchange for our broken car seat rather than driving an hour to our nearest mamas and papas.

Now if baby ladydolly could start to make an appearance today that would round it off nicely :)

Welcome sazhoopz!

catg83 · 03/11/2014 18:52

That sounds like a lovely day Ladydolly.

I have been sorting out what was in the room that is going to become the nursery. I have been a bit overwhelmed to be honest. Few hormonal tears moments. Most of it is crafting bits like wool, paper, tools and magazines etc. I got rid of all my food magazines and about 6 carrier bags going to Oxfam and 2 bin bags. It is still too much stuff! I thought I was being ruthless but obviously not enough.

Arkkorox · 03/11/2014 19:15

Evening ladies

Congrats to all those who have popped!

Am I mad for not taking my maternity leave till 39 weeks? Work have said its up to me but while I am there I will be in the classrooms doing my usual TA role, just no one to ones and no restraining kids etc obviously ( I work at a priory school - we're not just mega heavy handed)

Im still waiting for the excitement to start to be honest, ive cried more in the last 24 hours than I knew possible and have posponed my baby shower as I just dont feel like I can cope with it just yet. Then again its only been a week since we properly found out so maybe im expecting too much of myself.

I want to be excited... im just a bit meh at the moment :(

weeonion · 03/11/2014 19:34

Evening all!

welcome saz!!
annatose - no baby from me yet!!! ;-)
41&2'today!!
i have no shows, signs or indicators here but tbh, i am not paying too much heed and just getting on with things!
for all of you hand expressing - can,i naively ask why???

amy83firsttimer · 03/11/2014 19:45

Curiosity I think WeeOnion and also a horrible irrational fear that I'll be kept in hospital til they work so if I pre-empt then I'll get home sooner there may have been a ahem bedroom related boob mishap that started the whole thing

OP posts:
ladydolly · 03/11/2014 20:01

Take it step by step catg83, don't be too hard on yourself for making an extra start and remember the golden clearing out rule, plenty of tea and cake needed with it!

ark even if you don' t have a shower, just think about how many people around you care enough to want to throw one for you! If you feel well enough to keep going to 39 weeks def do it, I was on my knees by 38 weeks when I finished and wished I'd started earlier.

weonion are you being driven crazy by well meaning friends and relatives making enquiries? I've still got 3 days til due date and its non stop.

Dizzylizzie29 · 03/11/2014 20:04

I am working till 39 weeks but this is my second and frankly I get more rest at work than I would with a toddler and at least there I can go to the toilet in peace! It also makes financial sense for me due to how we get paid etc. First time around I finished at 37 weeks. Must admit I would like the time to rest and organise like I did last time but it's just not possible.
Think it depends on your circumstances etc, I always kept in my head that if things got too much I could ring in sick and it would kick start my mat leave (any time after 35weeks I think)

Sazhoopz · 03/11/2014 20:04

Thanks for the welcomes, Petal yup due in Sunday although it's only just occured to me that Sun wouldn't be a good day as my hospital is just the other side of the Thames to Houses of Parliament & Whitehall which will make traffic horrible!

I'm very jealous of all of you are having your first & having plenty time to yourselves on ML, I'm really missing that at the moment. Although a friend popped round this afternoon for a gossip whilst our boys had a play which was nice
