Oooooh annarose - how you doing??

haventgotaclue1 · 01/11/2014 06:55

Happy November everyone Grin

It's our month at last and I'm getting really excited now - doing a lot of sign searching but absolutely nothing (do have another 18 days so am just being impatient! )

Hope you're all doing ok today - annarose how are you doing?

Strawberryfield12 · 01/11/2014 07:18

To be honest i got on thread fully expecting birth news from over night as it is common to go in labour during the night.
3 weeks to go for me, but noticing how much the baby is struggling to move in the bump, cannot get that thought away that she will have enough of being in that tight cage and will be out much quicker although no signs or pains or anything in here.

Arkkorox · 01/11/2014 07:27

Oh my word my baby will arrive this month! ( all going to plan lol)

So after spending the whole of yesterday crying and doubting every single thing I'm feeling much better today. My partner came round, bought me a bunch of flowers, I cried at him for about an hour then we spent an hour choosing baby names ( and didn't get very far!) but I don't feel like im in this on my own anymore. Phew!

Keeping a close eye on bump today cause it's been a little quiet, usually wakes me up at night at some point but then I was exhausted yesterday so may well have slept through it!

Strawberryfield12 · 01/11/2014 07:33

Cheer up Ark, you are confusing your baby with all that flood of tears. Wink

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 01/11/2014 07:42

Morning all - 3 weeks til baby arrives here c section date booked unless something happens sooner which am hoping not.

To do list is no shorter other than ordered a new hospital bag as other appears to be too small despite using last time.

Arkkorox · 01/11/2014 07:53

Lol strawberry, poor things probably dehydrated after the amount I cried yesterday! Bloody hormones!

Hopeful83 · 01/11/2014 08:49

Ooh Anna hope things are happening. I also had a very similar experience last night n
but it seems to have come to nothing. About 9 she started moving frantically which lasted about an hour. I had bad period pains, shooting pains in what felt like my cervix and couldn't sit comfortably at all. I ended up on my hands and knees rocking on the ball and felt so sick. But I have managed to sleep ok and now feel back to normal

Ark - glad you're feeling a bit better. Hope your partner looks after you

Kantha · 01/11/2014 09:03

Morning everyone, and hello November!

I am wondering how Anna is doing

I am feeling further away from going into labour than I was on Wednesday Sad. Then I was losing lots of plug and had some cramping. Yesterday not much happened apart from having diarrhoea on and off all day. I know this can be a sign of imminent labour but still feeling a bit flat. At least it's the weekend so DH (and his parents) is around. I might try getting out for a walk today minus the kids. There is a big hill near our house.... It could be an interesting place to try and get down from whilst having contractions Wink

Annarose2014 · 01/11/2014 09:11

False alarm!

Bloody painful though. We really thought it was it. I decided to try to get some sleep and slept very fitfully until 5am when I had to pee like a racehorse. Pains & nausea were gone completely then, but have been awake since tossing and turning (& fretting).

Now have some persistent period pains down low but nothing major.

Am shattered with tiredness and don't know if I feel disappointed or relieved. Turns out I am quite scared of childbirth, I just had been putting it out of my mind!

catg83 · 01/11/2014 09:30

Morning all. Cannot believe this is the month most of our babies will be born!
Other half was out for Halloween dressed as a male Daphne from Scooby Do (don't ask, these costumes get more bizarre each year) so he rocked up at 4am this morning. Wonder what his head will be like?
No news here, just normal movement, normal routines and normal feelings. Actually quiet pleased as we still have lots to do. X

TwigletFiend · 01/11/2014 10:39

Morning all!

Congratulations Greenstone!!! Grin

November is here! Half elated and half anxious. I am now officially on ML, but somehow this morning I feel more tired and awful than the last long, hard couple of weeks at work. Rode my horse, mucked out and am now flat on the sofa trying to muster the energy to do something! Failing so far though.

I also have a terrible bruised feeling in my fanjo, like someone has kicked me there. Ouch! Sad Tell me I'm not the only one?!

Anna, now not sure whether to be pleased for you or not that it was a false alarm, haha!

Strawberryfield12 · 01/11/2014 10:53

No Twiglet, you are not Grin. Some days it comes and same days it goes for me...

ladydolly · 01/11/2014 11:39

twiglet my bruised feeling only started when I went on ML, I think perhaps I was too busy to notice it before. Likewise, as soon as ML started I got this stinking cold and have felt like crapola. I'm sure it's just my body saying 'rest now woman, you're going to bloody need it!'

After spending a small fortune on bio oil and cocoa butter to keep stretch marks at bay I've developed 2 little ones coming off the scars/holes from where my belly ring was. Annoyed.

excitedforbaba · 01/11/2014 13:01

Ladydolly my stretch marks are bad but absolutely horrendous looking from where I took my bellybar out too!

catg83 · 01/11/2014 13:22

twiglet - nope. Feel like that most of the time downstairs. Mentioned it to MW. As with all things she said it was normal, to do with having lots more blood than normal and to make sure I stayed hydrated.

Went to post office to pick up a lovely parcel of pressie for baby from an old work colleague and now very very very slowly decluttering and packing up the room that will be the nursery. x

WorkFreeWannabe · 01/11/2014 14:20

Hello Everyone and welcome to November! Had a break from here as I've had do much to do recently including batch cooking like a nutter. I thought I was ready until my mum have me a list of things I should have done lol.

Had a few false alarms which I'm quite disappointed about. Trying to cheer myself up with a pedicure at my local nail shop.

Congratulations Greenstone. Gosh! That was quick!

Excited - I've got stretch marks too where my belly bar came out. I think I left it in too long and the first one set in. Recently I've got a new road map just above my bikini line, just when I thought I had escaped Shock

Welcome to the newbies, too many messages to catch up with you all.

I'm really jealous of all my other friends enjoying their newborn cuddles. Around 5 of us were due 2 weeks apart. I'm second to last, but Sod's law, I'll be last

amy83firsttimer · 01/11/2014 14:25

What was on the list workfree?
I'm bored!!!!

OP posts:
Kantha · 01/11/2014 14:31

Currently waiting for a MW to call me back as I think I might be slowly leaking amniotic fluid. Nothing dramatic like Greenstone yesterday, and no contractions to go with it.

amy83firsttimer · 01/11/2014 15:11

Ooh Kantha exciting!!!!

Sooooo jealous

pinkgirlythoughts · 01/11/2014 16:17

Hello November!

Congratulations Greenstone! Lovely name too.

Lily31 · 01/11/2014 16:37

Hello everyone. It is officially November, so I am officially having a November baby!
40+5 today, midwife is coming to give me a sweep in the morning, I'm a bit apprehensive about it. I suppose I better get used to people rooting around down there.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I've had a good walk and DP is cooking curry for dinner. Come on baby...!

DrBlondie · 01/11/2014 17:14

Strawberry, love your idea of a tight cage and baby choosing to break free Grin

Ark, glad you're feeling better today. Don't know if it helps, but I've had my fair share of cries about how overwhelming it all is with our planned baby. I think hormones play havoc with your emotions too, which doesn't help!

Annarose, Aw hope you've managed a nap today to catch up on sleep.

TwigletFiend, yep another one with achy bits down below. It's all glamorous being pregnant, isn't it!

WorkFreeWannabe, what's on your mums list? I'm now feeling worried that I'm not as ready as I think I am!

Kantha, exciting! Will keep my fingers crossed for you.

Lily, is it your first sweep? Good luck and let us know how it goes?

I've hit the magic 37 weeks today, so have heaved a sigh of relief that she should be fine if she decides to come any time from now.

I have a random question- when did/will you all start wearing the mega maternity pads and sitting on a towel (or similar) in anticipation of your waters going? I don't really want to start wearing them too soon since they're going to be a bit unwieldy in my undies but I really, really don't want to trash the sofa/bed/whatever I'm sitting on by waters going and not being prepared! Any suggestions?

haventgotaclue1 · 01/11/2014 17:54

DrBlondie I've been thinking about when should I start sitting on a towel too Blush - have been using a waterproof mattress protector for a few weeks now but DH is getting worked about what happens if my waters break when I'm driving our brand new car!!!!

Wasn't going to start wearing the maternity pads though...but maybe a good idea. I reckon once I get to 38 weeks (currently 37+5), I sit on a folded up bath towel on the sofa and in the car. Also have some of those changing mat things that I may put on top...really glamorous NOT....

Thehedgehogsong · 01/11/2014 18:19

I got slammed in the bump by my seatbelt during an emergency stop today Sad it really hurt! Baby is moving fine but I'm cramping up, not happy!
