Wow, another quick labour! Congrats greenstone!! November tomorrow, our month!!

Even though I still have a week til due date this feels very much like the old 2ww!!! I am very impatient though..

Greenstone · 31/10/2014 17:41

Thanks a mil, she is called Laura. Now on postnatal ward listening to people talking about how you shouldn't hold your babies too much in case you spoil them...and thinking, ah feck off Grin

Thisisimpossible · 31/10/2014 17:46

That's made my evening Greenstone! Congratulations! So pleased it all went smoothly for you, especially after your worries about the meconium. Can't believe how fast it was Smile

Greenstone · 31/10/2014 17:55

Yes all was fine re. Meconium. Only thing was the paediatrician had to check her first before skin to skin and they clamped her cord straight away so that could happen. Everything else textbook and she came out screaming thankfully and has fed well since. 7 pounds 3, so a decent size for little me!

Greenstone · 31/10/2014 17:58

Oh and I had to have a trace on the whole time which was a bummer, but lovely midwife let me bounce on ball and then found mobile monitor for me so I could walk around. So do ask for a mobile monitor if you need continous monitoring, so much better than being stuck on bed.

Annarose2014 · 31/10/2014 17:59

OMG Congrats!! Flowers

Kantha · 31/10/2014 18:03

Fantastic Greenstone. All done and dusted by tea time! Congratulations. Smile

catg83 · 31/10/2014 18:08

Brilliant news Greenstone. Enjoy all those new born cuddles and thoroughly ignore all those people talking about spoiling a baby. What tosh! Mobile monitor is a brilliant idea, will bear that iOS mind if we end up there. X

Petal26 · 31/10/2014 18:10

Congratulations Greenstone, sounds like a bit of a whirlwind, am jealous of the cuddles :-)

After a week or two of wishing things would get moving I now want things to stay put for the next 24 hours as we have a toddlers birthday party and a fireworks display tomorrow, don't want to miss any of it!

haventgotaclue1 · 31/10/2014 18:18

Crikey! Very many congratulations Greenstone Thanks. Hope you're all doing well and think Laura is a lovely name Smile

ToniWol · 31/10/2014 18:18

Congratulations Greenstone.

Strawberryfield12 · 31/10/2014 18:19

Congratulations Greenstone! Amazing news!

Annarose2014 · 31/10/2014 18:44

Laura was one of our picks if it was a girl, its so pretty.

Am also HUGELY jealous of the speed of it all! Though I'm sure it was pretty hard core!

Spoiling a baby a couple of hrs old! Have you ever heard the like! I presume it was another Mum saying that and not a MW?

blamber · 31/10/2014 19:49

Greenstone, congrats! How lovely to have a Halloween baby and I'm so glad she's fine despite the meconium. Enjoy your cuddles!

weeonion · 31/10/2014 20:10

Ooooh greenstone - FAB news!! Really wonderful and so pleased you are both well, happy and onto the next phase.
( i am,presuming someone has set up our postnatal thread!!!!)

weeonion · 31/10/2014 20:17

Had my homebirth appt today. She is such a lovely lovely midwife and just hoping she is on,duty when my time comes. Even,dp felt a bit emotional with her!
all is good - heartbeat etc

no signs and twinges but have decided to have a reflexology and an acupunture next week.

i am feeling great apart from sleeping and achy hips. Dp has been off this week and we have had one of the most special phases in our relationship. Really glad to have had this time with so many laughs and good memories - impt to have them before next phase of potential competitive tiredness!

hope you are all ok and having a happy Halloween!!

Thehedgehogsong · 31/10/2014 20:39

Congratulations greenstone!! How lovely!

I had my homebirth appointment too today weeonion. Did you get a huge list of situations that would mean you have to be taken in to sign? Really sounded like they'd rather I was just strapped to a bed stationary on the ward rather than mobile and comfortable in my own home :(

DrBlondie · 31/10/2014 21:05

Congratulations greenstone!

Annarose2014 · 31/10/2014 22:02

After endless weeks of no symptoms, lots of 'em this evening all of a sudden.

Lots of pains both in bump and round my back, lots of nausea but no chance of actually being able to get sick...have had to go to bed with electric blanket on. Couldn't even watch telly. Really can't get into any position where pain eases.

DH is getting nervous & so am I. He reminded me that my due date is timorrow - i thought today was Thurs not Fri so had added a day!

Nothing in knickers though. Maybe false alarm. Am going to MN a while to distract myself.

Thisisimpossible · 31/10/2014 22:56

Sounds promising Anna Smile Keep us posted! x

excitedforbaba · 31/10/2014 22:58

Congratulations Greenstone Laura is such a cute name!

Annarose I'm really feeling symptoms tonight too but not getting my hopes up for anything as iv still 2 weeks to go! although still disappointed every time I stand up and there isn't a flood Hmm

Only an hour left of October then we can flip the calander to our month wonder who will have the first November baby!

weeonion · 01/11/2014 06:49

Morning folks!

its november!!!

hedgehog - i haven't had that at all. I wonder if it is different because we have a designated specialist team who are entirely focused on homebirths? The mw don't do ward / hospital births (but if i do transfer to hospital - they stay with me til baby is born). We did talk through reasons to transfer but it was v limited and my mw said that with 2nd babies planned homebirths. It was v v v low.

hopefully now they have talked through that with you, it will be more focused on what all you want??
