sebsmummy lovely pic Smile

BingoBonkers · 31/01/2015 17:45

Thank you stubbs. Seriously it's like being a first time again! Have felt a prod. So am sure all is ok and my mind is playing with me. Can't wait to get these children to bed so I can laze on the sofa watching rubbish Saturday night TV. Well that is the plan I suspect the children will not play ball and be up til all hour. Perhaps I need my iron levels checking? Or my sanity?

Tranquilitybaby · 31/01/2015 18:37

Hugs to you mustbemad xx

Yay sebs! Feel all teary and excited for you. What a cutie pie Smile

Tranquilitybaby · 31/01/2015 18:39

Oops preseed post too soon.

Still very nauseous and nervous here. Scan next Wednesday so not long to wait now. Can't believe nearly 20 weeks have gone by now, half way.

Gone a bit mad with buying things, oops! Blush

HexyQueen · 31/01/2015 20:51

Fab news & scan pix sebs!
Fx everything ok and just implantation bleed mustbe. Big hugs.
Good to hear from you bingo. I'm still struggling at almost 22 weeks with puking, nausea, exhaustion & distinct lack of glow too. I'm sure we will all feel better soon.
Good luck for your scan, tranq, I still cant believe we have made it to halfway, time is doing really freaky things, I'd better get my shit together and buy stuff/dig pram & crib stuff out of the seventh circle of hell loft & garage.
Don't even think of getting up a ladder stubborn, I can barely climb stairs without falling over with this bump! Have a good day on DS's birthday
Hi everyone else xxx

BingoBonkers · 31/01/2015 21:49

hexy feeling pukesville here too. Have spent today feeling dog sick. Hoping that it stops soon too as have had enough and will be 21wks in a couple of days.

zippygeorgebungle · 31/01/2015 21:57

Hurray to see sebsmummy on here, old thread buddy! delighted indeed to see that. Excellent news. I'm 23+3 now!

Lolababy00 · 03/02/2015 08:37

Hi everyone hope you are all well. I've been chewing strong gum all weekend keeping the most horrible taste in my mouth at bay, which has also helped with the nausea and vomiting. Also was wondering if old girls are allowed home births as I'd really like one, my last was induced due to me having CS and I was bed bound and monitored throughout labour. My DP isn't so keen as he worries about things going wrong, but we also have DD to think about and neither of our families live close and my eldest is at uni.

Gingerbreadlady1 · 03/02/2015 11:49

Hi everyone.

Glad you've found something to give you some relief from the nausea lola. Re the home births, if you're not high risk I don't see why you shouldn't be allowed a hb. One for discussion with mid wife, don't think they can stop you tbh.

I've got midwife booking in appointment on Monday so hopefully will find out if it's available to me then.

stubbornstains · 04/02/2015 11:14

Hello zippygeorge, you're about 4 days further on than me! Do you want to go on the stats list- we can have a race with hexy to see who gives birth first!

Anyone else I've missed want to go on Ze List?

Wow, after 2 very tiring weeks I've finished the nightmare restaurant job (nearly!), so am treating myself to a morning's slobbing. 'Tis bliss.....must at least go and make a list of Stuff to Do soon though....Smile.

Re: home births and the Extremely Aged- I had to go and see the consultant before Christmas, who explained to me that, if you go into labour at term, then your risk is no higher than any other woman's (assuming there are no other factors, etc.etc.). BUT....for the over 40s, the risk of stillbirth doubles if you go to 41 weeks. That still doesn't mean it's high- it becomes 1 in 500 rather than 1 in 1000. Still food for thought though Sad.

This may be what the MW tells you, although IME MWs don't always explain this kind of stuff very well Hmm. The conclusion, in my case, was that if I go into labour early or on time, I can give birth wherever I want - I would probably choose the MLU- I don't fancy a home birth- not for safety reasons or anything, I would just like to give birth in an "other" space than my home. However, since I just did not go into labour with DS, and after days of fighting "the system" finally consented to be induced at 15 days overdue (he was born at 17!), and since if you're late once you are likely to be late again, I have a feeling that I'll probably end up caving in and agree to be induced on my due date, and have the whole hospital shebang with the tubes and wires and machine that goes "ping"! all over again. Oh joy Sad.

On the other hand, since my due date is 31st May, and hexyqueen has her planned CS booked in for 1st June, it could well be a tightly run race between us, which will be exciting! Grin

stubbornstains · 04/02/2015 11:21

By the way lola, you do know it's YOUR decision as to whether you have a home birth or not, regardless of how much psychological pressure they chuck at you? When push comes to shove (as it were) if you call the MWs and say "I'm going into labour, and I'm not budging. No, I don't care if you're short staffed, I'm giving birth here", then they HAVE to attend you.

(Just as I didn't HAVE to be induced last time, but once they start howling things at you like "But you must go in to be induced tomorrow! How would you feel if your baby died tonight?" (possible, but v.v. unlikely Angry) it becomes increasingly hard to resist....Angryagain.)

Lolababy00 · 04/02/2015 11:22

stubborns thanks for your info on HB ... And the info on still births .... As it reminds me to talk about it at Mw appointment (DP's mother lost a baby at 38 weeks and he's already stressing about making sure I don't go over )

stubbornstains · 04/02/2015 11:27

Cheers lola- hope I didn't worry anybody with those statistics- statistics, damned statistics and lies eh?!

Tilly1969 · 04/02/2015 11:43

Hi, everyone, had an early scan yesterday and saw a little heartbeat. Couldn't believe it, really didn't thinking would. The excitement/panic was dampened slightly by the fact I have a big cyst on my ovary. Never had one before and don't know much about them. It was 7 cm by 5cms. Little sac looks teeny tiny in comparison. I had to go to see a consultant and she checked the cyst and said it looks fine but took some bloods just to double check it's not a tumor. FX it'll just disappear. It explains the cramping I've been having. The 2nd thing I'm worried about is the baby measured about a week smaller then expected. Is that normal? Hope it's developing ok? Going back next Thursday to check it all again.
Sorry for big rambling post. Thought once I saw a heartbeat I could believe this was going to happen. Has anyone else had any of these experiences. Still can't tell anyone!!

stubbornstains · 04/02/2015 11:50

Yay, congrats tilly! How far along are you?

I think it's quite common for dates to be altered a bit at the scan- perhaps you just ovulated a few days later than you thought?

Fx for the cyst- most of them turn out to be harmless.

stubbornstains · 04/02/2015 12:24

I appear to be busting out of my DDs now, so was trying to get some proper info on when to buy nursing/ maternity bras.....Only to get slightly sidetracked by this fitting guide video on the Hot Milk website...Grin (you may have to scroll down). Disclaimer- it doesn't actually give you much info about sizing!

uk.hotmilklingerie.com/collections/nursing-bras

I love Hot Milk BTW, and am very cheered to see that they have loads of sale bargains on at the mo, because they are pricey....I gave my last HM bra away to a friend, who I've now fallen out with, so can't get it back again Sad.

Lolababy00 · 04/02/2015 12:24

Congrats tilly I wouldn't worry to much about dates not being spot on, you saw a lovely heartbeat and lots of women have experienced the same and they've gone on to having a healthy babies.
I had an early scan and my dates were out, I put it down to my cycles being all over the place 35, 29, 32,36 and finally 28 which was extremely light , I actually thought it was implantation bleeding but my scan dates actually predict it to being a period. I saw a heartbeat too, however wasn't offered another scan so got to wait until 12/13 weeks

Tilly1969 · 04/02/2015 12:42

Thank you, Lola and stubborn. Before I went all I was worried about was the heartbeat and I am thankful to have seen that. Think the cyst confused everything a bit. Was going to tell my mum etc. but when I got home started to doubt the size. Don't think I'll every relax!!!! I was very lucky. The midwives were so nice. Very quiet dept. had my other 2 children in a different hospital but this one was great. Consultant squeezed me in between 2 other patients. Just going to try and think positive!

Lola do you know when your 12 week scan is? FX it's not too long.

Stubborn never heard of hot milk before will have a look. Sadly I still have an old maternity bra even though I wasn't planning any more.

Lolababy00 · 04/02/2015 12:56

tilly I've got my MW booking in appointment on Monday... So they will book my scan. I have a list of worries to discuss with them ( scan date, HB, still birth and if it's likely CS will return ) so I think no matter how much you want to stay calm and relax it's very hard too as we only want the best for our bumps

Lolababy00 · 04/02/2015 13:06

Tilly . Hopefully scan first week or so of March .

Tilly1969 · 04/02/2015 13:13

Good luck on Monday Lola. I'm sure your midwife will be able to sort out any worries you have. Gave you met her before? Hope you like her. It makes such a difference. Just looked back. Think your due a few weeks before me. Feels like a lifetime away.

Snooky17 · 04/02/2015 14:06

Congratulations Tilly, the early scan dates can be off mine was, then the next two dates changed again adding 3 days on each time till it matched up with dates. Stubborn love the hotmilk video thanks for that lol

Lolababy00 · 04/02/2015 16:31

Thanks tilly yes I know my local midwives, there are four of them which I met during my last pregnancy and after the birth ... However I have got two favourites so hoping it will be one of them. My scan date says I'm due 12th of September shortly before you.

Tranquilitybaby · 04/02/2015 17:22

Hello lovely ladies

IThe scan took ages due to the baby being breech and in a funny position. They paid particular attention to the heart due to my mums heart condition and all looks perfect, phew. Confirmed it's definitely a little girl and she has supermodel length legs! Wink
