Evening all, I've not been on much as felt I didn't have much to report other than 'I'm tired, nauseous, tired, quiet. Tired. Hungry etc'

First proper sick yesterday, shredded wheat into the bathroom sink. Class.

Also first bout of constitution, although I am never all that regular 5 days without poop was too much. Followed today by, well 5 days of poop. More offensive and less solid as the day goes on. Sorry, can there be TMI when your pregnant?

seb Glad to see you are still here. I think.5 - 7 was is the 'worst' bit and your risk does drop after that. Keeping FX for you.

11+ 1 today, how time marches on! Scan next Friday. Don't think I am having screening for DS. Will they tell me anyway if it is a big concern? Not sure I want to know tbh.

Sparrowlegs248 · 15/01/2015 21:01

Clearly I meant constipation not constitution.

Anyone else live in an old draughty freezing house and worried about next winter? (keeping baby warm?)

stubbornstains · 15/01/2015 21:40

Yay, nearly got to the 12 week scan notta!

I, too, am a bit disconcerted about what's going on in the bum department...it's not fair FFS, I'm a veggie and always eat loads of beans and veg and nice virtuous stuff! Think I'm going to enquire at the pharmacy, see if they can recommend a bum booster.....Grin

I wouldn't worry too much about cold temperatures- babies are pretty adaptable, and all the advice at the moment focuses on making sure they're not too hot. I had DS in February- in a boat! (well, had him in hospital- came home to a boat..). In the daytime it's easy to just add another layer of clothing, and at night you can splurge a bit on electricity and have an extra heater in LO's room. You can get simple thermometers to stick on the wall next to the cot to tell you if the room's at the right temperature.

1 word for the constipation sufferers. Lactulose. Night all.

Phoned hospital today they want me to come in for a blood test to confirm weeks .. Before scan !!! A little confused as doctor said I would have scan if baby wasn't visible it would be repeated 10 days later ... As before 6 weeks you can't always see it. MW at EPU was helpful but have read that HCG can vary lots so feel I am still in limbo and have wasted the last two weeks waiting .

Lolababy00 · 16/01/2015 18:11

Oh also I found dried figs, prunes and apricots worked a treat for pregnancy constipation

Gingerbreadlady1 · 16/01/2015 18:41

lola, that's a bloody disgrace. They're really mucking you about, I'd complain. And book myself a private reassurance scan in the mean time.

Lolababy00 · 17/01/2015 06:36

DP really annoyed, spoke to doctor who just blamed the unit for constantly moving the goal posts. Blood test on Monday.. Results in the afternoon.. If they delay scan even more we're going to book private ( thanks for suggesting it )

Tranquilitybaby · 17/01/2015 09:25

So frustrating for you, as you say numbers can fluctuate wildly so I don't see the point.

Gingerbreadlady1 · 18/01/2015 22:27

How's everyone doing? Anyone started looking at prams?

OP posts:
Tranquilitybaby · 19/01/2015 00:20

Hi ginger, good thanks, you?

Ive got my pram, it's at my mum and dads now it's finally arrived. It's all black, including the frame and I love it Smile

supersupersupershock · 19/01/2015 09:36

Nuchal update: for anyone who finds they might have higher end nuchal like I did (I had 2.6) - have had rest of results through and age related gave me 1:43 risk of downs, but with nuchal and bloods adjusted to 1:261 - happy days for us, as was expecting so much worse.

Prams -oooh prams. Been looking but too early to buy. I have fallen into the snare of Bugaboo and ICandy.... they are expensive but you get good money for selling them on afterwards. Hoping to find a cheaper alternative that I like as much though :D Any recommendations anyone?

Snooky17 · 19/01/2015 10:36

Great news super, pram wise I bought an oyster 2 from eBay, hardly used, Lola I would go for a private scan if you can seems ridiculous you are being messed about. 23 weeks today, I have bought stuff, I have heard heartbeat I feel her move but it doesn't feel real somehow, anyone else feel like this?

stubbornstains · 19/01/2015 12:02

So glad to hear your news super. So nervewracking having to wait, glad it was good news Thanks.

I haven't really thought about prams yet- I've got an old one in the shed, but fear it's all covered with mould and is only fit for the tip Sad. I've also got a lightweight folding one still in good nick, though.

I did come back for an early lunch to bid for a Moses basket on eBay though- it had gone up to too much, even if it was handwoven by Myleene Klass Hmm. So instead, to surf that adrenaline flow once it was going, I jumped in at the last minute to an auction for a Baby Bjorn sling and won it- hurrah! So that's my first item of baby tat Smile.

sebsmummy1 · 19/01/2015 12:40

Hi girls, glad everyone is well.

I'm ok. Had horrible nausea for over a week now. It ebbs and flows. The weekend was not good, today is better. I'm delighted I have symptoms but hoping they pass at 12 weeks.

I have my midwife booking in appointment next Tuesday. Just got to go and get me a Bounty pack to fill out beforehand. I've decided I'm going to wait for the 12 week scan as scans no longer hold any excitement for me and I don't think a heart beat at this stage would give me much reassurance as I know it can still change.

I'm not sure about prams. If this baby goes to term my son will be two months off of 3, so I don't think he will need a tandem, perhaps a buggy board, but in all honesty we don't really do a huge amount that requires a pram anymore unless we go into town (rarely). I have a stokke Xplory so I might get the carrycot for that (not sure how necessary it is as the seat lies pretty flat). I also have an extremely cheap Graco travel system that I could use. My main thought is updating my tiny car so my money will probably go towards that instead.

stubbornstains · 19/01/2015 12:50

Ha! In the nicest possible way, congratulations on the nausea sebs! Wink

How far along are you now- 7 weeks?

sebsmummy1 · 19/01/2015 12:53

I am 7+3!!!

sebsmummy1 · 19/01/2015 12:55

Today is my second missed period date so if we went back to my Grandmother's era I would be officially pregnant at this point. For some reason that felt somewhat momentous this morning.

Sparrowlegs248 · 19/01/2015 13:37

Great news sebs So pleased for you. I am taking my continuing nausea as a good sign but gosh it is wearing me down!

Gingerbreadlady1 · 19/01/2015 15:03

tranq, what type have you got?

super delighted your results are good, fantastic news!

snooky, I've just started to get proper, non disputable movements. It's reassuring but weird, don't think reality will hit till we have them in our arms...

I'm undecided between a nuna (new to market) and an uppababy, I feel like a fraud as I've no real idea what I'm doing.... First of many decisions....

Lolababy00 · 19/01/2015 15:50

Hi girls, scan tomorrow ..... A little nervous probably a sleepless night tonight.
I have a Mothercare pram... It wasn't expensive and is quite bulky. It is a nightmare to get in the car. ( I fell in love with the colour) My sister thinks phil and teds are great.

ProbablyMe · 19/01/2015 16:14

Haven't checked this thread for ages as have been super busy. Had my 12 week scan on New Years Eve, NT measurement of 3.9mm. After bloods my risk came back as 1:5. Went for CVS but they couldn't do it as I have a retroverted uterus and the placenta is right at the back so it was way too tricky. Got an appointment for Amnio on Thursday this week and a Fetal Cardiac scan next Thursday. We're not feeling too worried, DS isn't a major issue for us but we want to rule out Edwards and Patau.

stubbornstains · 19/01/2015 19:41

Worrying times probably, but it looks like you're keeping really positive, which is good. That's still an 80% chance of having a baby without DS.

Will be thinking of you through all the tests Thanks

Good luck for your scan tomorrow lola.

Tranquilitybaby · 19/01/2015 23:51

I hope the amnio and scan goes ok probably, thinking of you x

Ginger - I've got a bugaboo Buffalo, it's reallybwell made and resale value is great so I'll get most of the money bavk. Everyone's a winner.
