Stubborn thanks you made me laugh so much that tea came out my nose (was drinking it at the time I read your post, not some kind of freaky thing I can do lol)

Sparrowlegs248 · 31/12/2014 01:47

I am feeling very sorry for myself. After feeling ok today, my cold has concentrated itself in my face this evening, I am coughing constantly and veering between bunged up and pressure in my face/eyes to nose randomly letting go and streaming. I have cried.

Self pity alert. I really hope i start feeling better soon. I was struggling with the tiredness/nausea but now I am ill on top of it i just feel totally crap. And pathetic and ungrateful. Ugh.

Snooky17 · 31/12/2014 05:12

Oh Notta you do sound poorly, sinus pain is just horrible. Plenty of water, steamy showers, etc think u tube has some videos about reflexology drainage points. Always feels worse at night and first thing in morning but hope you feel better soon x

Tranquilitybaby · 31/12/2014 05:48

I sympathise notta. Steaming and cutting out dairy really helps.

Ginger - loving the pic, you look great. I just look fat at 15+2 Sad

Inshock73 · 01/01/2015 15:46

Happy New Year everyone! :)

Hope everyone had a good Christmas and here's to a very exciting 2015 for everyone! (Although let's hope all the excitement begins after the babies arrive and not before!)

I've got lots to read and catch up on on here.

Xx

stubbornstains · 01/01/2015 19:58

Good to hear from you inshock! Hope things have calmed down re: all the health concerns?

How was your scan ginger?

sebsmummy1 · 01/01/2015 20:42

Happy New Year. Hope you all had a lovely time, I am so ready to start dieting now!

All ok here, nothing to report. Zero symptoms bar thrush and occasional nipple tingling. I am itching to see if a CB test would show me 3+ weeks but I'm going to resist the urge as if it doesn't it will send me into a total tail spin.

Have no idea if I might opt for a reassurance scan in two weeks. I'm thinking I won't as there seems to be a fair few cases on the boards where a heart beat has been seen at 7 weeks only for none to be found a few weeks later. Somehow I think that would be worse than assuming a heart beat was never there at all.

Gingerbreadlady1 · 02/01/2015 20:21

Happy new year old birds!

Did everyone survive? I'm so fed up being used as an f'ing taxi, grrrr.

Ha! I was in bed at 9.00pm, watching a documentary about Indian railways (although I did have a glass of wine). 'Twas great!

I had a horrible, I-can't-believe-I-feel-so-stupidly-pregnant-already moment today......I went to the beach with DS (we were meeting friends, but they were late). As is his wont, he bombed off at 100 miles an hour, giving me no chance to catch up. He was following the surf line (in his wellies) and blow me if he didn't trip over, a good 80 yards ahead of me, and a wave went over his head.....and I swear, I was lumbering along so slowly, panting and blowing yet panicking at the same time- I might as well have been 80 years old- screeching "Get up! For God's sake get up!" before another wave broke over him....Luckily he did, and got clear of the surf- but no thanks to me.

But such a horrible feeling- it was like I tried to engage "sprint", but it just didn't work....left me feeling all shaky and tearful Sad. (DS suffered no lasting ill effects, even though he was running around in nothing but his pants and his mate's sweatshirt for the rest of the afternoon Grin). And it was a struggle to get out of the bathtub last night too! I'm trying to do as much exercise as possible, in the hopes that that will help to combat this general sensation of geriatric maternity Hmm.

So....how did your scan go ginger? Got any nice pics?

There should be a few 12 week scans coming up soon, too, if I'm not mistaken....?

Gingerbreadlady1 · 03/01/2015 10:38

That sounds well scary stubborn, like a nightmare where you want to run but can't! I'm struggling not doing heavy lifting etc, I'm so used to just getting on with things for myself. I keep reminding myself it's not for me but for the baby.

Scan went well thanks, got all the measurements & everything looks good. A little wriggler though, took 5 attempts including a return to waiting room with some hefty encouragement from me before he would move to a position where we could get a momento shot. Was very nervous before hand, so relieved. Found out ms ds is 1/2800 which I'm pleased with.

Any progress with your dp?

Tranquilitybaby · 03/01/2015 14:04

Scary stuff stubborn, glad DS is ok though, even though your nerves might not be!

Sebs resist the digital if you can. A reassurance scan might help though. Did me a little bit,

My nausea is awful today, threw up this morning and just eek so sick. 16 weeks tomorrow, hoping ill feel better soon.

stubbornstains · 03/01/2015 19:19

That's bad you've still got nausea tranquility. Have you been sick loads?

Congrats on the scan ginger- when you say "encouragement", what do you mean- jumping up and down?! Oh my God, what is ms ds- is this something else to worry about that I previously didn't know about?!

Re: DP- well, he got in touch a couple of times, but I said I didn't want to see him right now. I think I want to end the relationship- well, I know I do- so I really need to woman up and get him over for The Talk. The only important thing is that he's there for the baby, and for DS, who adores him, and has been asking after him daily Sad.

sebsmummy1 · 03/01/2015 20:47

Girls can I ask a quick question as I'm feeling a bit paranoid.

Did anyone else notice increased white discharge in the first trimester? It is pure white, I tend to wear black underwear so it is really noticeable. At first I thought it was the thrush pessary but I used that at the beginning of the week and I don't think it would still be working it's way out.

I read online about something called leukorrhea which is common but then if I google white discharge I keep finding info saying its not normal. It's not thick or clumpy so i don't think it's thrush.

sebsmummy1 · 03/01/2015 20:54

Congrats on your scan Ginger Grin. Fabulous news!!

Gingerbreadlady1 · 03/01/2015 22:52

Thanks sebs, yes it's completely normal. It's to help stop infections, some ladies get it mega heavy, some ladies on the May thread are wearing towels it's so heavy.

Sorry stubborn, should've read my downs (ds) results. Didn't mean to panic anyone!

stubbornstains · 04/01/2015 11:39

Yup sebs, just call me Mrs Dribbly Fanny Grin

Sparrowlegs248 · 05/01/2015 11:45

Hello all, back at work. Ugh. Hoping i don't feel more awful as the day goes on, which seems to be the pattern.

Re discharge, yes, had lots from wk 5 - 8. Its settled down a bit now. Will be 10wk weds!! Eeeek 1/4 of the way there!!

Gingerbreadlady1 · 05/01/2015 14:26

I agree, work sucks! And fed up with people looking at my belly or discussing my size!

OP posts:
stubbornstains · 05/01/2015 14:53

I had someone (friend's DP!) touch my bump yesterday, but think it was in the spirit of light hearted revenge- he has a really bad back, and I had (very) lightly touched his back, and said "Aaww....hope it gets better soon!"

Gingerbreadlady1 · 05/01/2015 15:27

A woman in work put both her hands on mine today, F off! I don't even know her that well.

OP posts:
stubbornstains · 05/01/2015 16:27

Is the proper etiquette not to bite her in the arm, in such a situation? Grin

HexyQueen · 05/01/2015 16:42

I'm all for the biting option, stubborn. People loose all boundaries when you are upduffed, lunging for a quick grope of the bump. The worst one last time when some fucker manoeuvred my wheelchair around in order to cop a feel..... Grrrr. Get your hands off my wheels before I break them......

Is anyone else still suffering vomiting & nausea at 18 weeks? Am bored of this now :(. Even biscuits & chocolate ( nor strong mins or chewing gum) can't shift the horrid taste in my mouth. Bleugh.

Gingerbreadlady1 · 05/01/2015 17:41

I did feel like grabbing a random piece of her anatomy & exclaiming how much it had grown.

Oo hexy, what a nightmare you're still so sick. I've been muck luckier so only thing I can suggest is fresh fruit, was fab when I felt shitty.

OP posts:
Gingerbreadlady1 · 05/01/2015 17:45

And I'm sure you've tried that. I've heard that the travel sickness bands can help.

OP posts:
stubbornstains · 05/01/2015 19:23

I think tranquility's still feeling pretty crook, but I'm afraid you win the Sickness Crown for this thread hexy Sad. Is it, at any rate, getting a bit better? Are you still on the meds?
