Oh dear bingo, not a weekend toothache....how miserable Sad.

Just popped on to say that my DS test results just arrived- 1 in 1856. That's good enough for me Grin.

Snooky17 · 29/11/2014 13:44

Yay stubborn ! I don't know my actual number only that I'm low risk, have midwife app on tues so will ask

BingoBonkers · 29/11/2014 20:48

Great result Stubborn!

Toothache has me calling the dentist and I've been seen. No way would have lasted til Monday. They've made a start but can't finish it due to nerve being so raw. Tooth been packed with antibiotics and I'm to go back next week. I've been given ABs as a precaution. Dentist said to take them if pain gets worse with pressure or temperature change. Checked with pharmacist and she said that they are safe for me to use. Just popped outside and the cold makes it hurt as does a cold drink. I'm wondering whether to take them or not! No pain when pressure applied to tooth. ABs are to fix any possible infection which they couldn't tell due to not being able to access the tooth properly or take an xray. Don't know why I'm dilly dallying about taking the ABs. Probably should just take them. Also bit concerned about the stress of the appt iyswim. I got pains in my tum on one side on the drive home.

stubbornstains · 29/11/2014 21:07

Don't worry bingo, babies are tough and a stressed out mum doesn't seem to damage them! (despite all the mythology to the contrary).

Goodness me, that does sound horrific....is the pain unbearable? Hope you manage to get some sleep.

Teeth are a bit of a "sore" (fnaar) point round here this weekend....DP and I don't live together yet, and he hasn't come over this weekend because of bad toothache (apparently a bad reaction to a temp. filling- his diagnosis Hmm). This started on Thursday night- so bad he couldn't sleep- so did he call the dentist on Friday? No, because that's what a normal, sensible person would do....So, now he's rolling around in pain for an indefinite length of time, until he can finally see the faaaarking point of calling the faaarking dentist!.I have ZERO tolerance of stupid cliched male behaviour! Angry

Tranquilitybaby · 29/11/2014 22:28

Take them bingo, they wouldn't say they're safe if they're not. An infection occurring would be worse. Get well soon,

Tranquilitybaby · 29/11/2014 22:28

Loving the faaaaarkings stubborn. Bloody men eh!

BingoBonkers · 30/11/2014 07:03

Oh Stubborn. Men get on my wick when they behave like that. For faaaaark's sake! At least you don't have to watch him roll around in pain. That would really piss me off.

I've been awake since 5. Actually that's a lie. I've been up three times to have the worlds longest pee each time. Toothache woke me at 5. Have taken more paracetamol. I assume the ABs are ok to take with paracetamol? Forgot to ask the pharmacist, who was also pregnant!

stubbornstains · 30/11/2014 09:12

I'm no pharmacist, but they must be OK to take with paracetamol, surely? Sorry about your crap night....

BingoBonkers · 30/11/2014 09:44

I'm pretty sure they are. I've taken the ABs now anyway. So if they aren't bit too late! Was going to Google beforehand but decided not to as we all know that is a one way street to anxiety hell.

stubbornstains · 30/11/2014 10:21

I'm having, on average, one neurotic pregnancy Googling session per week. If it's not hot baths, it's accidental Stilton consumption, or worries about amniotic fluid escaping (on reflection, it may have been wee Blush).

Snooky17 · 30/11/2014 13:40

Stubborn I too have googled the amniotic fluid query, am guessing as its 4 th baby my pelvic floor is not as good as it once was eek.

BingoBonkers · 30/11/2014 13:49

Decided I'm going to tell my friend next week when I see her. I know it's before the Harmony results are out. Either way I'll be glad of any support. We told mil yesterday. She screamed with delight.

supersupersupershock · 01/12/2014 12:28

What early tests/scans did you guys have, if any?

Thinking about the early scan - Am at around 7-8 weeks pg.

Just got so many worries re my age, plus now reading all sorts of older dads making it higher risk, my baby's dad ids 52!!

Snooky17 · 01/12/2014 12:46

Shock I had 3 early scans due to 2 MCs in the last year, also had the normal 12 week scan and NT measurement done and bloods taken, if my results came back as high risk I would have had the harmony or Nifty blood test, this test can be done from 10 weeks has no risk to you or baby gives you your risk of the 3 major chromosomal problems. It takes 2 weeks for results and can also confirm gender it's not cheap about £500 I think depends on your area I know some of the mums on here have had it done so can offer more advice I'm sure

supersupersupershock · 01/12/2014 13:07

Snooky - thanks for reply. Can I ask did you have private scans that you paid for? Money is very tight this end. Not sure if you are older mum but wondering if as I am old bird will be offered scans on NHS. Probably not though I guess. I have not had miscarriages previously, one child 10 years ago and thought couldn't have any more children

stubbornstains · 01/12/2014 13:19

I believe it has been known for women to claim that they're having cramps/ bleeding when they're not, and so get admitted to the EPU for an early scan on the NHS....

BingoBonkers · 01/12/2014 15:06

We paid £180 for a viability scan at the FMC with ds2 because I was going to be overseas around the time of my 12week scan. I think I was 8/9 weeks then. It was definitely worth it for peace of mind and reassurance.

supersupersupershock · 01/12/2014 15:10

Got first mw appt tomorrow so will see what she says and then think I will book

Snooky17 · 01/12/2014 16:44

I had 2 nhs due to my MCs and paid for one private at 9 weeks is was only £40, but Bingo I found it really reassuring, don't think we older mums get more scans tho tho I'm guessing we are all under consultant care due to our age tho think that only applies if you are 40+ does anyone know if consultant care gets more scans?

BingoBonkers · 01/12/2014 17:09

I was consultant led last time with DC2 and the only extra scan I had was an impromptu one because they thought the baby was breech and couldn't tell. I refused to have the ECV as didn't want to stress the baby out. I spent the last four weeks with me arse and legs in the air following the Spinning Babies website. I think unless you have significant health issues/concerns or the baby is not following typical growth patterns then you won't get any extra scans. I could be wrong and I usually am but that's my understanding.

My scan was a bit pricier what with it being in That There London Town.

HexyQueen · 01/12/2014 17:18

Dunno if u get more scans as older mums, haven't heard that, depends on your circumstances I think. Good news, we got results back of combined screen today: we are low risk of downs at 1 in 1100!!! Thrilled :D

Have just booked a private gender scan for 3 weeks today as my next NHS one is at 20 weeks (7 weeks away). V excited. It's not too expensive at £45, & as it'll be my last sprog at 42, will splash out on 3D/4D scan too later. I've really appreciated the reassurance having one at 8 weeks gave me, & then knowing it will only be 4 weeks between scans.

Hope your tooth is better bingo. I've had 2 tooth abscesses & u really don't want to go there. Paracetamol is fine with ABs.

Xxx

Snooky17 · 01/12/2014 17:45

Yay Hexy great news ! I too have booked a gender scan mine is wed and will also have one later on as well, mine is £40 so taking it as an early Xmas pressie to myself.
Bingo, thanks for the mental image of arse in the air for 4 weeks lol.
OMG my back is killing me and pain is now in my bum and leg am thinking sciatica, but no had experience of spd or similar so guess it's a question to ask midwife Tomoz for 16 week app.
How is everyone else feeling ?

stubbornstains · 01/12/2014 19:11

Congratulations hexy! Has the nausea lessened at all?

HexyQueen · 01/12/2014 20:40

For treatment of sciatica ask the docs for versatis 5% medicated plasters , it is only lidocaine so fine in pregnancy and it is only topical not systemic. They are fab, a life saver as mine really flare up in pregnancy.

Still puking stubborn but less so. Think the ondansetron really helps. X

BingoBonkers · 01/12/2014 21:20

Awwwww Hexy yessssss! Fab result.
