33 weeks 4 days.... creeping ever closer!

Metformin dose increased so I am back to feelung shit. DP has finished painting the nursery though and put the carpet in. Put cot up last night. Grin

Chipandspuds · 23/10/2014 08:41

35 weeks tomorrow! Is anyone else feeling a bit sick in the mornings again? I think it might be because I'm really tired rather than just pregnancy as I didn't have this with DS.

DH keeps waking me up when he gets into bed at 11:30pm/12:00am and DS keeps waking me up from 5:00am onwards Sad I'm going to sleep in the day once I start maternity leave and DS is at nursery Smile until then I'm just going to try really hard to be good tempered!!

I went to pilates on Tuesday and we had a relaxation 5 minutes at the end which we don't usually do but it really helped so I fell asleep last night with some relaxation music playing on my phone Smile

I have aerobics booked this evening, will see how I go, missed last week because of a cold and I was so out of breath! The instructor is also pregnant so she has been really good and said I can sit down any time I like and if I want to do just 30 minutes instead of an hour it's absolutely fine. I actually have more energy afterwards than I do to start with, and I'm doing the easiest level of everything! With the toning exercises at the end I'm doing more and more pilates exercises instead, so I'm feeling confident that I'm not 'overdoing it'.

I had planned to be swimming each week by now but will see if I can get in a trip to the swimming pool next week! I think it will really help as I'm feeling very heavy and uncomfortable. I'm trying so hard to be careful with my back but I think I slept in a bad position last night as I felt achey this morning...gah!

Hope everyone else is doing well and lots of luck to those who have hospital appointments.

Cuppachaplz · 23/10/2014 09:07

you all see so far along!
think i'm 31 today (maybe 32, am very good at losing and gaining weeks...)
chips ive had a puniness return (never really went, but now worse than ever) like you, i think exhaustion related too, as really not sleeping at all now.

Leg cramps and carpal tunnel now so painful that I have been in tears for hours the last 2 or 3 nights; any ideas anyone. I am already doing the physio exercises, wearing splints, signed off anyway so resting as much as pos, and doing hot to cold water preps. Feeling utterly miserable now, as not sure how I can cope with this for the next 2 months (which makes me feel guilty for feeling like that given the early scares), and how I'll cope with labour if I can't even cope with leg-ache...

Sorry about the moan, but feeling totally shitty today :(

Roonerspism · 23/10/2014 10:43

cuppa I take magnesium supplements and my cramping has been so much better this pregnancy. If I don't take them for a few days it comes back. Leg cramps are agony!! Don't put yourself down. I had them in first preg and actually coped ok with labour pains - but the leg cramps had me writhing. Sorry you are feeling so bad. I don't know about carpal tunnel - could you see GP and let them know how bad it is? Flowers

chips my all day nausea is back too. Well, it never really left, but it got much better. It's ghastly. Mine is also linked to exhaustion....

I had a growth scan the other day. Baby is huge. Above 95% centile for head size and large tummy too. Oh crivens. I'm seeing consultant next week to discuss an elective csection. Not that this is needed with big babies, but I have an existing prolapse from first two deliveries that I don't want to worsen. I feel I'll have a fight on my hands, so wish me luck.

Hope everyone else is doing ok. Homeward bound - hang on in there everyone.

32 weeks.

Cuppachaplz · 23/10/2014 12:20

rooner the GP signed me off and referred me to physic. I think the next step is injections in my worst. The physic thinks that the cram, ping is more related to the same syndrome in my ankles and calves (some sciatic pinching), but will try mg supplements, thanks :)
My labour was fine last time too, but then again so was the pregnancy...
Good luck with consultant. How do you feel about ELCS? If you are OK with this, it sounds like it might be a sensible plan, but hoping you get what you want xx

monkeybaby2 · 23/10/2014 13:24

Cuppa I've been taking magnesium for cramps too but the best thing I've found is drinking a glass of tonic water before bed. It really works! Can't remember who suggested it but it was someone on here. Genius.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 23/10/2014 19:02

Watchdog tonight has a feature on faulty prams! Crossing fingers it's not the one I've chosen Confused think it might be the Cosatto one again? I remember they featured them before.

OP posts:
AziziRose · 23/10/2014 19:52

Chips I'm jealous of your exercise tolerance! I did nothing (except running around the ward like a blue arsed fly!) pre pregnancy, and stairs get me nowadays! I'm determined to improve post baby though, I enjoy the feeling post exercise but can talk myself out of anything haha!

Ouchie! Carpel tunnel etc sound horrid. Hopefully something will help Cuppa!

Definitely on the home run now, please please can I move house and nest soooooon! Very frustrating now :(

kusmile · 23/10/2014 20:29

I just went over to the supermarket with the button and undone and flies half open on my jeans. Embarrassing. What's happened to my brain?

cuppachaplz my sis recommended energy drinks for cramps, the kind you get in powder form in sports shops.

Watchdog is on TV now talking about Cossato prams. The company sounds completely dodgy. Peace, if you've got one it looks like you might be best off exchanging it for another one. They keep collapsing. Shock

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 23/10/2014 20:43

No no I don't have a Cosatto!! I considered one but checked Which and remembered the Watchdog report from last year. I've got a Silvercross fnarr Grin

OP posts:
AziziRose · 23/10/2014 21:00

Can't believe Cossato get away with that!! I really liked the design of one of their car seats but was put off when there's no real safety info on their website, def won't be buying that!

Now for educating the east end :D

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 23/10/2014 21:32

Dear god my neighbours are utter fuckwits. I went round last week to complain that they were still drilling at 9:30pm, and they're still doing it now. Do they think I've soundproofed my house in that week? I'm banging on the wall with my fists because I don't want to damage the bloody wall with anything harder. They're so fucking entitled, I hate them already. I've lost count of how many months they've been renovating this damn house now.

I cannot wait until we have a crying, screaming baby to soothe up against the adjoining wall every night, those bastards.

OP posts:
Chipandspuds · 23/10/2014 22:02

Cuppa I think I read somewhere that eating a banana before bedtime helps with the leg cramps? At least with the labour once it's done it's done, with the leg cramps and everything else it's harder because you don't know how long it's going to last and if it's going to get better/worse.

Rooner I hope the consultant appointment goes well.

Azizi I'm really lucky the aerobics instructor is lovely and she also teaches pilates at another gym so she knows what is and isn't okay for pregnancy exercises. I had a chat with her this evening and she is happy for me to keep coming to the class and if I want to do just half an hour that it's fine Smile

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 24/10/2014 07:01

Peace. Even if you have a very good baby who doesn't cry, you should play a recording of a baby screaming at full volume. in fact you should start that now.Grin Its the kindest thing as will prepare them...

I'm in the middle of a mass clear out.Today is lean to. Once that is done and dp has been to the charity shop and tip, we should have a LOT more room. I am being merciless.

kusmile · 24/10/2014 12:00

Peace It's worth checking your local council's noise guidelines. In my borough of London you can only do noisy DIY from 8am-6pm Mon-Fri or Sat 8am-1pm. I reported out of hours construction to the local environmental health recently and they were on it within hours. In some circumstances they come to your house to assess the noise. So worth it. It's even better if multiple people are affected by the noise because your neighbours won't be able to know for sure it was you.

Just reading about people's nursery preparations, does everyone have a separate room for the baby? I'm in a 2 bed flat with 4 people living in it (other 2 are DP's sister and her BF) and I'm really concerned about the space issue. Hopefully my screaming baby will convince the other two to fly the nest, but they're apparently thrilled about the prospect of having a baby in the house.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 24/10/2014 12:22

Hmm I did look into AS noise but it was very vague and seemed to rely on you having kept a diary of the disturbances. They are doing it from 7:30am-10pm weekdays and 9am-10pm weekends :(

We have a separate room that will eventually become the baby's room (if we still live here that long), but the cot will be in our room for a few months.

For those not on FB, Ladylel's twins are being induced/delivered by C section today after a few weeks in and out of hospital. Will keep you posted

PourquoiTuGachesTaVie · 24/10/2014 12:34

No separate room here. Baby will be in our room until she moves in with ds.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 24/10/2014 12:34

Omg best wishes to Ladylel! I thought we had a set of twins on here but couldn't remember who!

OP posts:
CallingAllEngels · 24/10/2014 13:08

Wow! Good luck ladylel !

kusmile we have nursery for baby - last time we moved ds out at 3 weeks, though I know most people keep in with them for a lot longer. My Dsis and BIl have just moved back in with my DPs and they will have baby in with them for the foreseeable future.

CallingAllEngels · 24/10/2014 13:08

Forgot to say 30+5 today!

Cuppachaplz · 24/10/2014 13:33

peace they sound vile. I've had our neighbour knocking before when DH was putting up shelves and hadn't realised time (it was 9.40), but obviously, since then keep a much closer eye on the time. Her house was being renovated when DH was working nights (so we didn't feel we could complain), and there is nothing worse... hugs
some kind of megaphone or amplifier for the baby may be the order of the day. Do you know any sound engineers? ;)

this weekend, plan to paint baby's room, and pack hospital bags, then maybe can feel organised. Other than that house is pretty sorted :D

Spoke to MW and physio re cramps. They both said no harm in trying magnesium/potassium/other trace salt mineral type things, but think unlikely to help as related to nerve pinching rather than true cramping :(
Have been on energy drinks for a while now when HG is too bad, the rest of the time I eat tons of green veg and fruit, and have been going through bananas like a starved chimp, so they said if I want to try it to go to the supplement route, but my diet should be rammed with it anyway...

MW said that baby is 2/5 engaged, which explains the pelvic pain, and back to back. However all could change. My bump measuring 25 weeks only (am 31+1), so should refer for growth scan, however he last scan showed baby on 75th centime, so most likely I am good at hiding babies (I was far smaller with DS, who was massive at birth). All else is fine, and she agrees/supporta my decision to ask if consultant appts are necessary now, given that plan is for MLU north and all concerns have been addressed :D
Plan to start sweeps at 38 weeks...

off to google cosatto now... (not that we were in any danger of buying from them). Merry Friday one and all xx

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 24/10/2014 13:56

It's Merry Christmas in my shop today! Had to put out our christmas products as per orders from above (management, not god), and have already sold out of a few items! Shock

Also three weeks today until maternity leave!!! I can almost taste it, it's so close Grin

OP posts:
isambardo · 24/10/2014 16:41

Peace, I have three weeks left too, I only work part time so that's nine working days!

I haven't been on here for ages but thought i'd check someone was updating for Ladylel.

Midwife at my 34 week appt said baby is 3/5 engaged already, she seemed quite surprised. I got excited and googled it, but makes no difference to when baby will arrive apparently. I was 10 days late last time so hoping this one will be earlier :)

As to room sharing, once baby leaves our bedroom he will share with his brother. We have a spare room but I want them to share as long as possible.

34+2 today.
