Just Shagging Grads thread No.13 for upduffed viroids!

Nessalina · 06/10/2014 07:46

Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 13th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed! Grin

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 29th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy! Grin

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates! It's a bit quiet at the moment, but with all these upduffed viroids hopefully it won't be for long!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

So, roll call below please, viroids! Smile

lauren I would have chucked cold water over him!! honestly!! Really pleased you aren't yakking as much anymore :) x

Rinse that CC boo! MIL keeps telling me I really ought to consider an electric pump, and I finally snapped this morning and said to Mr Tee if she wants me to have one that badly she can bloody buy it.

freshstart4us · 16/10/2014 10:30

lauren ugh that kind of behaviour would generate Fresh-Bitch-On-Wheels for days in our household. Silly man. Using up good husband credits that he could spend on a boys' night out or something like that!

boo go go GOOOO!! Shopping with other people's money is just a complete win:win.

splodge I did something similar with my Tens machine last time round, went for a wee just before we left for the hospital at midnight after 14 hours' labour at home, the cords got a bit tangled and I ripped the whole things off and ditched it across the bathroom with a FUCKING STUPID MACHINE! howl that made Mr Fresh laugh uproarously. I then wished I'd thrown it at him! Angry Will it again this time round though, I actually think it really does help.

Nessalina · 16/10/2014 10:53

Ugh! Lauren we need a [pig] emoticon for that Hmm What an arse! Glass of water over the head time IMHO Grin
Really glad the sickness meds are helping though, 2/3 times is still quite a lot, but a mahoosive improvement! Are you keeping food down a bit better?

I can't decide about a breast pump... They seem like a good idea, but I'd have to go electric coz I'm a lazy cow and they're not cheap... I've heard they're good to have from the start so you've got some relief when your milk comes in. Hmm.

I've been enjoying my hypno birthing book, and DH is very good at reading out the story bits in a soothing voice, but I can't help but be a bit Hmm about whether or not it'll make much of a difference. I guess it can't hurt!

Oh Lauren he needs a giant kick in the arse. I hope you read him the riot act and that your day isn't too bad. Good news on the throwing up front though.

wilmabedrock · 16/10/2014 11:06

Re breast pumps, this is just a personal opinion of what worked for us, but I expressed every day and then gave it in a bottle for last feed of the day. In my mind this meant baby got a good feed (as sometimes they're tired at that point and don't take all they could do) and then she slept for longer. However I fully realise that it could have been coincidence that she slept well but if you have active night babies, maybe give it a go and see. You can get pumps which are both manual and electric, our avent one was. Quite handy to have the choice. (Especially if you want a night out, you can take the manual in your handbag to relieve yourself of boob swell in the toilets!).

laurenamium · 16/10/2014 11:08

Do the breast pumps still make that strange noise or have they fixed that yet? Grin

Ness I'm keeping much more food down, I feel sick all day but only being sick maybe half of what I'm eating rather than all of it plus stomach lining and fluids so a massive improvement Grin all of my insides hurt today. From my throat right down to my fanjo. McDonald's lunch to cheer me up though Grin

freshstart4us · 16/10/2014 11:11

On the topic of breastpumps, I have to offer a plug for my Philips Avent Isis model. It was absolutely brilliant, not overly expensive, with both electric, battery and manual operation options. Ness yes I did use it for some relief to avoid becoming engorged when my supply outweighed DD's demand significantly, and I went back to work 2 days a week at 9 months and expressed successfully for 8 months, until I was back full-time when DD was 17 months and we were only doing evening feeds. I bought spare parts for it off eBay - a small internal valve that I managed to drop down the sink was 4, and a new power cord was a bargain 9 - and it will give me good service again I expect. It has an "intuitive" mode whereby you can start with really quick "sucks" as baby does when it goes on the boob, and then evens out to the slow, long draws. It was BRILLIANT, and so much better than anything else I came across through friends or NCT girls; I think it played a large part in why I was so successful with bfeeding for so long.

Also, I would say do NOT get a double - unless you have twins, your boobs aren't supposed to produce milk at the same time!

And yes lauren they still make an horrendous noise. LOL

freshstart4us · 16/10/2014 11:24

wilma OMG I'm glad I'm not the only bfeeding mum who, whilst quite tipsy, has pumped herself dry in a public loo! Oh the glamour.... LOL

Nessalina · 16/10/2014 11:31

Lauren - sounds like a plan, you deserve a treat! Smile

Wil - that's the dream I think, especially as that way DH can do the last feed and I get a bit of flexibility. All depends on him baby, not DH! taking to a bottle though... How soon did you introduce one with MiniWil?

I'll have to look into the Avent ones - sounds like a good flexible option!

Morning! Just peeking my head around the door...very cautiously :)

Re: breast pumps... I hand expressed to relieve the day five milk madness, but used a Medela Swing to express regularly. It's reasonably quiet but you can't avoid feeling like Daisy.

TheBooMonster · 16/10/2014 12:12

I've been researching into breast pumps and agree that one that can be both electric and manual is a good idea, and one that's a closed system. For curiosities sake when I'm feeling brave I'm going to open up my medela mini to see what sort of state it's in inside as the pictures I've seen on blogs of old open systems look hideous!

The Ardo Calypso is a closed system and comes with different sized breast shields in the box which looks hella useful!
I've gone for this pump www.ardobreastpumps.co.uk/products/breastpumps/calypso-double-breastpump and added enough accessories to bring it painfully close to £200.

Nessalina · 16/10/2014 12:17

Hello Chat! Good to see you! Grin Congratulations! Stats please when you're feeling brave enough Wink

ZylaB · 16/10/2014 12:27

Hey chat :)

Am watching the pump discussion with interest, after the first 6 weeks or so I'd like to express enough to let DH have the baby feeding responsibility one night a week while I sleep, does that sound doable?

Tidied and did some washing this morning so am now watching agents of shield and eating kiwi fruit :)

gaggiagirl · 16/10/2014 12:36

chat !!!!! I've lost the shaggers thread from my I'm on list so I haven't been able to keep up but good lord loads of congrats to you! Staaaaaaaaaats!.

gaggiagirl · 16/10/2014 12:48

Im bleeding a fair amount. Im soooo tired and we are on bastard holiday!
DP and DD are swimming I'm sat here like a plum watching them.
Roll on Monday when I get to see the midwife.

laurenamium · 16/10/2014 12:49

Congratulations chat GrinGrinGrin

wilmabedrock · 16/10/2014 12:49

Totally doable if you have a good sleeper who is only up a couple of times a night zyla, maybe not if you get one who is up every two hours Grin .

Hi Chat!

I can't remember when I introduced the bottle, maybe at a month or slightly before. My friend was adamant that I did it before 6-8 weeks to avoid refusal.

wilmabedrock · 16/10/2014 12:50

Sorry Gaggia, x-posted. Hope you're ok x

laurenamium · 16/10/2014 12:57

Sorry gaggia I also missed your post! Hope you are okay! When are you back from holiday? When I had my bleed last week the general consensus was keep any clots. If there's clots or cramping get yourself to a hospital if you can. If not ring when you get back xxx

Nessalina · 16/10/2014 13:13

Monday is a long time to wait gaggia! Are you feeling ok? As has been said, if you get any cramps then try and see a doctor locally. Fx it's nothing! Xx

OP posts:
ZylaB · 16/10/2014 13:14

I'll keep my fx for a good sleeper then wil hehe :)

splodge77 · 16/10/2014 14:03

hope all ok gaggia.

i agree with the try a bottle early if poss to avoid refusal, had two friends who had a nightmare switching their babies from boob to bottle. the dream-feed thing worked well for us - my DP gave a bottle of expressed milk at 11pm so i could go to bed at 9 and get some sleep before night feeds. Also i recommend perfecting the art of the lying down breastfeed if your knockers are big enough - you feel a bit like a pig with a piglet but means you can kind of snooze your way through the feed!

Anyone got any tips for tackling bloating? I look about 6 months preg already and feel like my belly's about to explode.

ZylaB · 16/10/2014 14:28

splodge my boobs are massive big enough for feeding lying down I suspect, how do you do it?

gaggiagirl · 16/10/2014 14:47

No cramps but I do have the runs STILL! Get back from hols tomorrow lunch time. Just feel bloated and tired. Might make a fuss to the midwife on Monday see if I can't get a nice bit early scan!

gaggiagirl · 16/10/2014 14:57

splodge I look very pregnant too due to bloating. I would love to know what to do to look normal again.

We are at soft play DP has gone fishing and the universe wants to rain out of my arse again! Waaaaaaaail!
