Just Shagging Grads thread No.13 for upduffed viroids!

Nessalina · 06/10/2014 07:46

Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 13th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed! Grin

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 29th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy! Grin

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates! It's a bit quiet at the moment, but with all these upduffed viroids hopefully it won't be for long!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

So, roll call below please, viroids! Smile

Glad you had a good day juni :)

Can I just add, I know there's lots I've been worrying about, or I'll or struggling with, but......I love love love not having periods! Grin

TheBooMonster · 15/10/2014 16:11

When I was pregnant with DD I had to get the train between Wroxham and Norwich (we've since moved and I really miss the train :( ). I would always wear my most obvious showy top when traveling as my bump was pretty small, that way if there were no seats I could loudly ask someone who looked more capable of standing than me if I could have their seat as I was pregnant, and if they were stubborn enough to stay sitting someone else would (generally) give me their seat.

I was convinced last time round that I wouldn't need an epidural and it wouldn't work anyway(despite my pain threshold being through the floor) this time I'm going to try everything I can to stay calm and not need one as prior experience indicates I go from hours of shockingly painful but unproductive contractions to 10cm in 10 minutes>.> so by the time the midwives realised that actually I wasn't being dramatic, I was genuinely in pain it was too late to give me anything anyway. This time I've got an Anaesthetic review so I'll have a better idea of what they can give me, though I still haven't had the appointment through...

freshstart4us · 15/10/2014 16:44

tee page 3 veiny boobs - OMG you should just show them those!!! (And then vom on them for being rude.)

boo I was faily ambivalent last time, had the epidural, which was fantastic at the time as I was exhausted and not coping, but subsequently had the intervention spiral of failed ventouse/episiotomy/forceps and very gruesome ending to the whole thing. While I have no wish to be a martyr, I am actually going to go with hypnotherapy and the midwife-led unit, aim to keep moving and have and active birth this time round to avoid the epidural. Basically I just want to do the opposite!

TheBooMonster · 15/10/2014 18:20

fresh I love the idea of hypnotherapy, am going to get a 4 cd package I found on Friday (joyous pay day) to try and have a go, also sorting out a 'calm the frack down' massage oil and found some homeopathy remedies so am going to go to Neil's Yard / the other homeopathy place on Friday and ask what they think of those before I commit to buying. I'm also watching Elle tens machines on eBay to see if I can grab one cheep. So will try all I can to cope without drugs but hopefully be. Ore prepared for if I need them. Would love the midwife unit and a birthing pool but I think given my complications last time and my plan for an active third stage this time I won't be allowed. Shall keep pushing the midwife and consultant though!

wilmabedrock · 15/10/2014 19:03

You can hire tens machines from places like boots and tesco, although I'm not sure it's actually any cheaper than buying one. I found it quite useful last time for the initial contractions.

I would love to be able to have an active birth but I'm so not hopeful after last time.

I also have veiny porn star boobs. Can't wait until they become engorged with milk Hmm . I also love the no periods. Think mine didn't come back last time until 7 or 8 months after the birth so hoping for that again.

wilmabedrock · 15/10/2014 19:06

Oh Juni, you'll have to be the tester for hypnobirthing. I'm sceptical it would work for me but would love to know if you found it helpful. Also, can you remember the name of the book you told me about months ago? Meant to get it and then forgot all about it. Something about birthing helpful.

JuniDD · 15/10/2014 19:16

hey wil was that Birth Skills by Juju Sundin? It's pretty good but I haven't finished it; good chapter on back-to-back birth! Wink

The osteopath asked me about my periods. I was like errr, I'll try to remember!

wilmabedrock · 15/10/2014 19:22

What a random question, wonder why they asked that? Yes that's the book, thank you!

TheBooMonster · 15/10/2014 19:24

wil I did look into to, the machines are £29ish to hire from boots for 5 weeks, which looks great at first start, and probably is for any normal woman, but not so much for me.

I'd need to hire one in time for possible induction (so from about 19th March) and then if I'm not induced I could need it as late as 2 weeks after actual due date plus a bit for if I go two weeks over and need inducing and the pessary does nada, and that's about seven weeks, the hire's only for 5 weeks and I'd need to pay the full amount again if I needed it longer than 5 weeks, so I've been looking at them on eBay and they sell on there for £25-£40 and I could re-sell it afterwards, so it seemed like a better idea to just buy one.

JuniDD · 15/10/2014 19:28

boo are you in NCT? They have an online shop and send discounts all the time so got my TENS for a bit cheap that way and brand new.

wil I've had a few alternative therapies and they always ask about that. And how many teeth you've had extracted...currently at 11 Shock Shock

wilmabedrock · 15/10/2014 20:07

How very strange! I'd love to know why, especially about the teeth.

I had my tens machine for way over the time last time as I forgot to take it back and they didn't care at all. It does make more sense to buy one though. I got my mum to go and hire one when I was already in labour in the hospital and I realised how bloody painful being induced was Grin .

teejayem · 15/10/2014 20:08

wil engorged is a dirty word! Like moist! Gives me a little shiver.

Speaking of dirty, I seem to have developed pant snot akin to icing! Anyone else have this?!

gaggiagirl · 15/10/2014 20:29

tee gosh my pant snot was ridiculous with DD and with this one. Its like I've wet myself.

wilmabedrock · 15/10/2014 20:44

hahahha it is a particularly horrible word! Like flange. I think it's because it reminds me of blancmange...

Yes tons of pant snot at the start. It was my first sign of pg actually. Have less now.

TheBooMonster · 15/10/2014 21:01

Juni I'm not, should probably join though adds to the payday list

Fairly certain DH enjoys winding me up... Was looking at a breast pump and then started looking for curiosities sake at milk donation and he said "How about you focus on feeding our baby first, you dried up after basically 24 hours last time" We're officially not talking because he knows how much I struggled and fought to maintain my supply for the few months that I did manage to exclusively express when DD decided bottles were easier and how stressful the whole thing was for me. turns the air blue some more however I'm making myself feel better by putting the pump and way more accessories than I could ever need on his credit card because he's so busy playing computer games that he gave me his card without really putting much effort into asking what it was for...

tee I rocked out with reusable maternity pads for the pant snot because it was all a bit ick

Nessalina · 16/10/2014 06:08

Boo - what a mean thing to say Hmm There's no harm in a bit of optimism! Deffo keep plugging that credit card for him!! Grin

TENs looks like a really good idea, my friends offered me hers to use, though apparently it needs new pads, so need to find out where to get them... If they're pricey it might be as easy to buy new!

The pant snot has been epic here too Blush I remember early on I kept dashing to the loo coz it felt like AF starting. Used to it now!

Minion · 16/10/2014 07:11

Ahh pant snot.
And the constant knickers watch.
Such joyous sights to behold. I especially liked it mid summer, when it was boiling, feeling like I'd peed myself, to go to the loo with my emergency period pants... Ahh the halcyon days.
Now I just go to the loo to poo. Sorry. But true.

Morning viroids I'm in a FOUL mood today ConfusedAngry

My birthday ended in DP telling me he had work in another town today, just as we were sitting down for my birthday tea. He had known for hours and hadnt told me. Normally this would be fine but it means us getting up at 5:30 to get him there then back in time for DD to get ready for school etc which means an early night- and I had no petrol...

So up we get this morning. DP prances around like a fairy for TWENTY minutes making us very late, then there's no petrol stations open so we couldn't even go anyway- after I've dragged DD out of bend into the car...we get back, an hour until anyone should have had to get up but obviously DD won't go back to bed AND HE WENT BACK TO BED AngryAngryAngryAngry and left me up with her. I have a 12 hour working day today he could have all day to nap. I'm so angry and Sad that he ruined my birthday.

On the plus side the meds are working. I've gone from throwing up 24/7 to only 2 or 3 times Grin

Pisghetti · 16/10/2014 08:29

Boo what a nasty thing to say! Expressing is no fun at all and to do it for months is no mean feat.

Lauren I'd have beaten him with a brick pillow until he got his ass out of bed and played fair.

I broke wind in antenatal yoga last night. I feel so ashamed. Not least because the other ladies are all a lot further on me so I have no excuse Blush funnily enough Wil the teacher mentioned last night that if you are induced it is a good idea to have a TENS machine in place to get the early endorphins going as you often miss out by starting strongly. I didn't know that when I was induced (was just warned it might be horribly slow to get started) and I was also a bit miffed about having continuous contractions without the few minutes breathing space in between I'd come to expect from reading about labour!

RPopz · 16/10/2014 08:34

Urgh Lauren ... he would DIE for that in my house!! Angry Glad the meds are working and hope you had a nice bday before his assholery.

Sorry not caught up much this week ladies!! Must try harder.... xx

TheBooMonster · 16/10/2014 08:46

lauren I'd have put DD in with him and slept on the sofa!!

DH is being completely unreasonable with regards to the pump, I did try and suggest we bought it second hand and just bought a new bottle and tube set as it's a closed system pump, but he jumped straight into 'unreasonable ass who won't take in a thing you say' mode so I've given up, if he wants to spend an extra £70 to buy it new that's his perogative, he just can't bloody moan about it later because I gave him the option of us not spending that much on it. continues to gleefully add stuff from the website to the basket for checkout

RPopz · 16/10/2014 08:54

Go Boo! Grin

laurenamium · 16/10/2014 09:09

He's still asleep and I've cleaned up the kitchen. I couldn't have left it like that for mindees arriving Hmm we are going out in 10 minutes and not coming back until much later. I won't be telling DP where I've gone. I can't understand how he can sway to being so lovely to being so thoughtless!

laurenamium · 16/10/2014 09:10

Yay boo Grin I love online shopping with other people's money!

splodge77 · 16/10/2014 09:36

omg, boo to rubbish behaviour from other halves!! I too would kick him out of bed Lauren or at least be extremely noisy to wake him up. re the chat earlier about hypno-birthing: I had the CD and stuff last time & did use it a bit but found it didn't really prepare me for the sheer effort required in labour. all that talk of relaxing so that your muscles can 'work in harmony' and your 'body can naturally open' to let your baby out was bullshit in my opinion!! I found labour to be more like doing a marathon - you need strength and stamina to get through it. I remember at one particularly painful point my DP said 'do you want your CD on?' and I just yelled I DON"T GIVE A FUUUCK! Nothing like labour to bring out the potty mouth.

I slept through last night without the usual 2 hour wake up / nausea-fest so feel a bit better than usual this morning. Phew!
