Well I had my scan this morning. All good, except baby wasn't playing ball and wouldn't roll over to a more optimum position for measurements! Saw the consultant too, got to have extra scans at 26 and 34 weeks. Not complaining! Lol.

Haha Misty that made me laugh. My 'bump' is just displaced intestines and extra skin I think. It's far too high up to be baby as it's right at my belly button. Does look like I have a little bump but I know it isn't as I only have a slight bulge when I suck everything in. (Can't see it with clothes on)

cinnamongreyhound · 01/10/2014 18:42

Thanks all and thank you BananaToast and RiverRocks, I didn't notice the name but I'm not massively bothered about anonymity.

I'm still waiting Sairie! 6-9 weeks was my worst. With ds1 it stopped dead on 13 weeks, with ds2 it was 16 weeks and this time it's still here 13+2!

Hope your dd is feeling better soon daholster!

I hope you get seen quickly EssenceofGelfing.

Dh doesn't like anything and constantly makes silly suggestions. With ds1 his name wasn't on my list I just knew when he was born. With ds2 we had 3 names we both liked and I let dh choose and it was my least favourite, I wanted to call him Oscar but dh hated it and I still think it suits him. If we have a girl it'll be fine but another boy and we'll struggle!!!!

Glad yours went well too Dancestomyowntune.

cinnamongreyhound · 01/10/2014 18:43

I have one above my belly button by the end of the day but baby is definitely below!

Rustyzilla · 01/10/2014 19:54

Lovely clear scan pic cinnamon!

Good luck Essence for your harmony test. I think I'd have it done too if my results had come back high risk, it doesn't hurt to have as much information as possible, or at least that's how I feel anyway.

Dances hurrah for your good scan!

I have just booked a private scan for the weekend to put my mind at rest after yesterday's bleeding. Hoping to get some less blurry pictures too!

13+1

littleluna89 · 01/10/2014 20:01

Glad your scans went well dances and cinnamon!

Mine's at 9am... 13 hours to go! Mum's picking us up to prevent us having to spend two hours on the busses fighting across the city just as well really, I'm feeling a bit like a cat that's off to the vets, I have images of bracing my hands and feet against the doorframe to prevent having to go I don't think I'll be be able to look at the screen without throwing up tomorrow :S

littleluna89 · 01/10/2014 20:03

Also, who'd have thunk, Buttercup cough and cold medicine in pregnancy is a serious no go :/ the pharmacist was bubbling on about them not liking pregnant ladies to take anything with medicine in and I was quite confused because there's no paracetamol in it or anything else medicin-y it's all herbs and spices. The very first active ingredient 'Squill' can cause miscarriages, suspect she should have lead with that given that I almost ignored her and bought it anyway...

RiverRocks · 01/10/2014 20:40

Wow, I did not not know that Luna! I asked the pharmacist about something to take a couple of weeks ago when I had a cough, and he basically said paracetamol or lump it. I asked about buttercup syrup specifically and he just said not recommended, nothing about miscarriage risk.

littleluna89 · 01/10/2014 20:55

aye River squill under side effects. Not nice stuff!

daholster · 01/10/2014 21:25

nunkie I am just sitting here with your lemon! Ginger and chilli sore throat reliever... Wow, yummy! Thank you!

sazzle82G · 01/10/2014 21:53

Had the day from hell today. Had a Nasty horrible parent shout at me. Managed to hold the tears back till she left thank goodness. In three years time please don't shout at your nursery teacher everyone!

I can't imagine ever deciding on a name. I took my DH surname even though it's not a great one because I really wanted to have to same name as my children. My DH is African so even though before I met him I thought I would always have Jane Austen type names, I'm thinking a traditional African name would be good. Nothing too weird though. Who knows though at this stage. Feels years away!

daholster · 01/10/2014 22:03

Why would you shout at a nursery teacher? I had a concern about my daughter's care which I politely made to the nursery assistants and when the mistake continued after a couple more reminders I sent a firm but polite email to the manager who apologised and sorted the problem tactfully with the staff. Now there is no problem and we are all happy. How odd to shout about something??? It's rarely productive. Some people are a bit shouty though, don't take it to heart. It's not excusable to be rude but some people just are!

sazzle82G · 01/10/2014 22:18

Thank you daholster. You, right, discussion is the way to do it. Now I think I know where the child gets his angry tantrum problems from. Thank goodness for the bake off to cheer me up!

daholster · 01/10/2014 22:19

On the names front, I fancifully think about the posh (well I think they are posh names) I love and how beautiful they are... Like Ottilie, Lorelei, Aramintha (Minty), Genevieve (Ginny), Sylvie... And for boys Lysander, Emerson, Artemis (I love it!), Jasper, Cassius... But when I imagine using them I doubt I ever would, it doesn't feel right. Anyway my dh would veto all of the above straight off!!!

But I do wish...

catsofa · 01/10/2014 22:26

For various reasons I wasn't able to discuss names with my DP until recently, so I'd made long lists of my own and spent ages thinking about it. We finally started talking about it the other day, he said a boy's name I hadn't even thought of, and I love it. So I think we have boys name sorted!

DP already has two girls so it seems to be down to me to come up with something there, could take a little longer...

LadyNovember · 01/10/2014 22:27

I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but we did the big announcement on Facebook today..! Lovely to have so much love & support but suddenly feels real now the world knows..just hope everything is ok at my next scan...Blush

11+3

LadyNovember · 01/10/2014 22:29

P.S we have talked about names for a long time..before we even decided to ttc Grin we think we have both names sorted, but it could always change!

catsofa · 01/10/2014 22:29

What did you actually say? I'll want to put something on FB eventually, there are so many people I'm only in touch with there but who are good friends who just live a long way away or whatever. But I'm not sure what to do exactly - put a scan picture up?

daholster · 01/10/2014 22:33

Orlando!!! Love that too! He doesn't... I'm just carrying on writing my daydreams...

We haven't started talking names this time round and won't until after the 20 weeks scan I imagine. We'll certainly wait for the 12 week one at least!

Ooh enjoy your announcing ladynovember and catsofa Smile

Lauren82000 · 01/10/2014 22:46

I came across DDs name watching a documentary on Roald Dahl. One of his daughters is called Ophelia and I loved it. DH agreed and the rest is history. We liked it because it can be shortened a few ways but we mainly call her Phe only nursery call her Ophelia.
Names can come right out of the blue and suit your child to a tee. Smile
I'm hoping to convince DH that Matilda is a great girls name because I like Tilly as a name and it runs with the Roald Dahl theme I started with.

LadyNovember · 01/10/2014 22:49

We did this photo when we were in Cornwall a few weeks ago, so uploaded this with a few words.

Hope that works, MN won't let me upload on my iPhone for some reason! X

Lauren82000 · 01/10/2014 22:49

Oh and I also like Gertrude or Gerty for short. Think it's really cute but everyone I've mentioned it too pulls their face when I suggest it. (Not said it to DH yet though) It's a bit old fashioned but again can be shortened a few ways and I'm really not bothered about that it'll come back round in fashion eventually names usually do.

LadyNovember · 01/10/2014 22:59

Yeah I'm pulling the face Lauren Grin each to their own though!
