I'm sooooo tired this morning it was a struggle to get out of bed.

My friend has bought me Miriam Stoppard 'new pregnancy and birth' it is ok but talks more about giving birth and afterwards than about the actual pregnancy which is what I'd rather know right now.

I've got this week at work then I am going to China with work next week umm 11 hour flight that will be fun, not!

13 + 6 today

TinyTear · 13/10/2014 08:17

catsofa I love you, hope my little Tesco has it, but not sure when I have time to get to it...

I have given away all my pregancy books as I learn more online...

But when babies are here I liked "your baby week by week" - some really bad advice on sleep training, but ignoring those parts it is informative. then same authors have your baby month by month after 6 months and the potty training for girls which I used as well...

I had your baby week by week with ds1 when I worried a lot as he wasn't the most contented baby ever!! Ds2 was so much easier and I was more confident but did refer to it sometimes still.

We are soaked! AGAIN!

Rustyzilla · 13/10/2014 09:12

Sorry to burst the Brie bubble but I'm pretty sure the reason for not having Brie is listeria risk, not because it isn't (or is) pasteurised.

Sorry... Blush

TinyTear · 13/10/2014 09:14

Bah!

Siarie · 13/10/2014 09:18

I've been eating it but only when cooked. Although I've got quite a bland diet at the moment lol! But that was back in France.

Anyone been effected by the strike today?

cinnamongreyhound · 13/10/2014 09:23

But if pasteurised the listeria won't be there in the first place to multiple in the moistness?

When I had ds1 they also said no soft scoop ice cream/mcdonalds milkshakes because those machines are a perfect breeding ground for listeria but they don't seem to mention those anymore.

FizzyBubbly · 13/10/2014 09:29

Siarie, I'm on my way to my scan and have fingers crossed I won't be affected by strikes. Got a feeling I might be in for a long wait which won't be fun with a full bladder Confused

Wow has literally taken me an hour to catch up on the last 6 pages Grin

You lot are terrifying with all the stuff we need..this is Dc1 so we have nothing! After today's scan I will start picking bits up in my weekly shop, nappies, wipes etc, so i end up with a stock pile by the time I'm on maternity leave.

Excited but nervous about nt scan today.. 3pm can't come quick enough!

BananaToast · 13/10/2014 10:02

Good luck today Fizzy and Lady.

I'm off for my Harmony test this morning, had totally forgotten about the strike. Hopefully as it's being run as a study it's researchers rather than midwives I'm seeing so less likely to be affected.

HippoPottyMouth · 13/10/2014 10:04

Yep exactly, it's unpasteurised cheese and milk that is the issue, so pasteurised brie should be fine. You have more chance of getting listeria from a salad anyway...
Cinnamon I always avoid Mr whippy type things too, not really an issue at this time of the year anyway!

Phryn if you see this, then millions of congratulations! So pleased! Everything crossed for you!

I didn't find any pregnancy books that were more useful than the Internet but DH thoroughly recommends the Comando Dad books, he's got the one for actual born babies but there is now a pregnancy one which we have on order.

I'll wait there with you Squatting - also 13 weeks today!

daholster · 13/10/2014 10:51

Hello! I find my dreamgenii ok but it's enormous, it takes up half the bed, dh isn't keen, and there is NO romance once that is brought down from the loft! Not sure if I will use it this time... We'll see how sore I get...

I'm not glowing either. sigh

On the wine front, for those wishing to indulge occasionally, I got a 1.5 litre wine bag from M&S at the weekend. It's equivalent to two bottles which is eight 175 ml glasses but it stays fresh for a month. I like it because I can have half a glass of wine if I want to. And otherwise if I opened a bottle of wine then DH would be left with rather a lot to finish on his own.

dancestomyowntune · 13/10/2014 11:39

I'm not glowing either. In fact my symptoms seem worse than ever!

I'm also in a battle of wills with dh about a competition my Dd1 is competing in on Sunday. It's a four and a half hour drive away... but he says he isn't up for the drive... I don't drive and think public transport will take a lot longer and she has to be there for 10:30am. I reckon if he drove I'd be more comfortable and less stressed.... hoping I can talk him around!

Hi ladies

I'm popping over here from the MC and due in April 2015 thread. Have been keeping up and reading this thread but haven't posted very much.

Had my 12 week scan today and all was great! Wriggly baby, sucking its thumb. Measurig bang on dates, all limbs etc present.

After being pregnant for most of this year I finally feel like I've hit a milestone.

Sonographer was lovely too and I told her about the MMC that was discovered at a scan so she was great and not leaving any long silences. She did mention that it looked like I had an anterior placenta. Has anyone else had this?

Oh, and most definitely not glowing here, not even close!

BananaToast · 13/10/2014 13:09

Hi OneDay - great news about your scan Smile Glad you've come to join us.

Lindalove · 13/10/2014 13:10

Lady I've not bought anything. I don't see the rush when all they need is a bed, clothes, sling, feeding apparatus, toys/ maybe a chair bouncer. Also I'm a bit superstitious, maybe I'll buy stuff when I get past 20 weeks (especially as then I'll know boy/girl).

BananaToast · 13/10/2014 13:15

I'm not buying anything for a while either but am starting to look at things now to get an idea of what I want to buy. Hoping some things will go in the January sales to save a bit of money.

I did pick up a few multipacks of wipes on offer last week to start a stockpile, but I use them as face wipes anyway so they don't feel baby-specific.

cinnamongreyhound · 13/10/2014 13:22

Hi OneDayLikeThis2013! Great news about your scan. Sorry to hear about your mmc, glad that you feel you've hit a milestone now and can hopefully reduce yor worry. I'm wondering if I have an anterior placenta as I haven't felt any movements yet and had by now with my ds's. With both my boys my placenta was checked at 12w scan and position noted in my notes, she didn't mention it this time around. I know 15weeks isn't late to feel a baby but when I felt ds1 at 14 and ds2 before 12 weeks I was expecting it to be similarly early.

No rush LindaLove just excitement to spend for me! I love baby stuff and had I have seen a nice neutral babygro I'd have one by now GrinBlush

LadyNovember · 13/10/2014 14:02

No glow here either and I think I'm 13+1 but will confirm later.

It'd be hard to see the glow through all the spots Hmm

mswibble · 13/10/2014 14:12

No glow here either! My face is an erupting spotty mess and I just feel me.

Had my flu jab today and the nurse was so nice, getting all excited for me! It was so nice!

BrixtonBunny · 13/10/2014 14:44

Another spotty, non-glowing, tired mess here raises hand
