Sorry that you've felt like you couldn't post CarebearwithFangs :( negativity is fine. I think we all feel it and hopefully help each other to be a bit more positive. Glad your scan went well Thanks

catsofa · 02/10/2014 21:55

Anyone else got itchy nipples? They seem to start itching in the evening and overnight, but I can't take my bra off because my boobs are so enormous they hurt when I breathe if they're not strapped down. I've even been sleeping in Primark crop tops, but my daytime bra is cotton so I don't think it's sensitivity to the fabric, maybe just general sensitivity? They're too sensitive to scratch when they itch either, I feel like I want an ice cube each on them :(

CareBearWithFangs · 02/10/2014 22:03

No itchy nipples here just restless legs keeping me awake all the time and driving me mad. Can't think of any itchy nipple advice either! Hope it eases up.

daholster · 02/10/2014 22:14

Ohhhhhhhhh poorly dd can't sleep... I'm in for a rough night... And I'm on a long day tomorrow... (With a scan in the middle Smile ) Hubby us coming home tomorrow (hooray!) but he is now in the throes of the throat infecction too!!! 2 people to look after! Oh well...

scratchandsniff · 02/10/2014 22:15

catsofa maybe try getting some lansinoh to put on them. It's meant for when breastfeeding to help with sore/cracked nipples but I reckon it would relieve itchiness. Or eurax cream is pretty good, used that when I had shingles.

BrixtonBunny · 02/10/2014 22:15

Dances I bought some maternity jeans from yesterday, plus a couple of dresses and a t-shirt - all from topshop. I felt a little bit bad spending money on clothes when we're buying a house at the moment and saving for my maternity leave but I can't very well spend the next six months wrapped up in a sheet!

BrixtonBunny · 02/10/2014 22:25

*from topshop yesterday - can't type!

catsofa · 03/10/2014 00:06

Oh no, restless legs sound awful, I was just reading about it Sad

I've found virtually NO maternity wear in the city I live in, all the shops I went in said they only do it online. But how the hell do I know what size I need now I'm a completely different shape to normal? Of all the times I actually need to try stuff on!

littleluna89 · 03/10/2014 00:08

So we had the scan today! I refused to look at the screen till the lady promised me there was a heart beat might have had a small melt down before going in after I remembered my 36 week scan with miniLuna, mrLuna all but had to march me in everything is fine, we have just the one and I've been put forward to 12+5 with a due date of 11th April.

It's a bit of a giggle really as we got my cousins 'save the date' card through for their wedding pretty much the week we started trying for this bump and that's the date they told us to save! all be it for their wedding not a day in the hospital!!

The consultant was all full of action plan, and he's the same consultant we had last time (all be it slightly less hands on last time) so we'll know on 19th March whether they're going to let bump carry on cooking or start me on steroids in preparation for evicting bump. We've got extra scans at 28, 32 and 26 weeks, the midwife is seeing us for all the normal appointments plus the 1st baby appointments so she can keep a close eye too and my anaesthetic review will hopefully be scheduled for some time soon!

All sounds positive *littleluna89+, lovely pic!

I had it with ds2 CarebearWithFangs so you have my sympathies! I still get it now occasionally but only when I'm really tired. Potassium is meant to help so get eating some bananas Grin

I had some period type cramps last night, quite bad but I guess just stretching. Haven't had them for a good few weeks so was a bit worried. Got hassle from dh about only stopping worrying for a single day and to enjoy the journey!!!!

BrixtonBunny · 03/10/2014 08:24

Catsofa I've found that my usual size is fine in maternity clothes, as they are made to be much bigger and roomier, so they should fit you despite your changing body! They are so comfy...

13 + 2

BananaToast · 03/10/2014 09:24

I feel like buying maternity clothes is a way off for me yet but I have browsed a few shops' selections online. I've got quite a few baggier tops/jumpers that I will probably be able to get away with throughout the winter so will try and buy as little as possible. Will definitely need some jeans though, I live in my skinnies and they definitely won't last me all the way!

One week til my scan! Got my blood test for screening on Sunday. Can't wait for DH to see baby looking like an actual baby. I saw a baby shaped blob at my scan a week ago but he hasn't been to one since 6 weeks when it was completely blob-shaped. Just hoping that everything is still ok in there - trying to not think too much about all that could be wrong and just look forward to it.

10+6

catsofa · 03/10/2014 11:51

Unfortunately I was in-between sizes before I got pregnant as I'd been losing weight, so not sure if I need size 10 or 12. So far off ebay I have a pair of size 10 jeans that are too tight and a pair of size 12 trousers that are too big, so I have no idea what to try next!

RiverRocks · 03/10/2014 12:11

I've bought quite a few bits, but I need good clothes for work, and my tummy's huge already from all the flipping bread I'm still eating to combat the nausea.

Catsofa do they fit you on the bum/hips? If so, you can get bump bands from New Look (I think Asda also do them, but I couldn't find them in there). Attach a hair bobble round the button and through the hole to stop the top part gaping, then cover with a bump band and then a top. Voila Grin

saiyme09 · 03/10/2014 12:15

Hi guys I'm a long time lurker ( well since I found out my due date, 12th of April!) and I just had my scan the little mite wouldn't stay still for the lady to measure it's length! Also any one got any good recommendations for maternity jeans top shop seem reasonable! Anywhere else ?

Lauren82000 · 03/10/2014 12:20

Scan went ok, blob is fine. I have a haematoma which is what's causing the spotting. She said baby is a fairly good size now so only something big would shift it. Which is reassuring plus she said I'm measuring about 11 & 1/2 weeks so that puts me forward by 3 or 4 days. Wouldn't give me the exact figures as I still want a dating scan to get another look. So now I'm sat in my car eating a cheeky mcdonalds to treat myself before going back to work.

LadyNovember · 03/10/2014 12:46

Great news Lauren - now relax and enjoy! Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 03/10/2014 13:01

Hi saiyme09! I got quite a few bits from Dorothy Perkins last time and blooming marvellous were good but pricey. I'm 4-5 dress sizes smaller this time so I hope it'll be easier to pick bits up. I managed with 3 pairs of trousers and 5 or 6 tops too.

Great news Lauren82000, try to relax for a while now and enjoy your mcdonalds :)

Ebay is good if you have an idea of style or brand you want but it's a pain if you're buying blind. At least if you buy from the high street shops online you can return them Catsofa Wink

Siarie · 03/10/2014 13:14

SadVommiting is back today so annoying! I had a great day yesterday eating pizza and this morning my stomach has felt super sensitive. Haven't moved from the sofa so far!

Lauren82000 · 03/10/2014 13:17

Have you tried mothercare? I got my jeans from there last time. I survived with 1 pair of jeans 1 pair of maternity leggings and the rest were just a size bigger cheapy black Primark leggings I wore under my bump and a size bigger in stretchy long sleeved tshirts. I was really small bumpwise right up until the end. I remember someone asking me when I was due and shocked them when I said a week. They thought I was only about 6months.

JaneyTea · 03/10/2014 13:51

I am terrified that I may never not feel tired again. Really struggling at work today as it's been a manic few weeks. Almost cried at my desk over something really small because I don't feel like I have the capacity to deal with it. I hate feeling so silly and just want to go straight home to pyjamas and bed. Sad

cinnamongreyhound · 03/10/2014 15:00

I genuinely bloomed in the second trimester with both of mine JaneyTea, there is a light at the end of the tunnel! End of third trimester is very tiring and first 6 months or so with a baby but you do go back to not being tired! Although mine are good sleepers so someone else might come along and say it never changes Wink my dss is 13 and moans at his brothers getting him up at 8 so there definitely is an end!!! Hope that you have a nice restful weekend and feel better able to cope with it all Monday morning. I just had a phone call which woke me up luckily as its time for school run now!

daholster · 03/10/2014 15:30

sairie poor you! Stay on the sofa guilt free...

Lauren thats great news, try to enjoy it!

Janey that is no fun. You do get less tired, make the most of the weekend.

I had my scan this afternoon, it was having a good old stretch, lol! All looked good so far, I'm very relieved. The sonographer was lovely. She said she thought she might have seen something to suggest boy but it's far too early to tell really so don't buy anything!!! Lol! Will be fun to see if she is right! And I gained 3 days... 12+3, due 14th April Smile

Lauren82000 · 03/10/2014 15:37

My mum just told me she will be round to pick DD up after work. So we get a night off yay. Shame it was DHs bed and wake up the lucky sod getting out of it.

I swear you shouldn't look things up on the internet. Just googled haematomas and there are a load of scare stories on there. The EPU gave no extra instructions or anything, yet online they've been given bed rest and pills. Guess that's Americans overreacting and my own fault for going looking. Blush

cinnamongreyhound · 03/10/2014 15:55

That's great daholster!

Americans are very different Lauren82000, we live near 3 usaf bases and they all have babies in their own hospitals and pretty much have an epidural the moment they go in and stay in bed through the whole labour!

I've been researching reusable nappies Shock I was a huggies mum with my other two and they now no longer sell nappies in the UK, really not a fan of other disposables. There are quite a few videos on you tube and it doesn't have to be hideous, the pocket ones look the best option but are pricey, found a pack of 10 for £50 and that is by far the cheapest as many are £12-15 each! I don't really mind the washing it's more what you do with the poo!
