Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
fedupofrainydays · 30/09/2014 10:00

I weirdly felt like sex last night - but no way my bits are ready for that yet!! My pelvic floor is a mess, no idea what stitches are doing and I've got thrush so overall it would be a bad idea!

binkybunny · 30/09/2014 10:01

fed up not quite as embarrassing but I have just answered the door to the postman in my nightie for the 3rd time in 2 weeks Blush. He must think I'm a real slob!

But he did bring my tens machine, going to have a play around with it later when dh is home, just in case...

Me23 · 30/09/2014 10:04

mrs I would contact triage for a proper consultation re the blood loss. As when we hear bloody loss and lots of it, it warrants further discussion it most probably is fine and could be a sign you are dilating but a lot of bright red blood loss should always be checked out. Not trying to worry you at all Hun but I wouldn't be a responsible mw if I just said yeah, don't worry without knowing more.

mrsb87 · 30/09/2014 10:08

Haha yeah binky! I'm sure that's what mil still believes! It must be immaculate conception because her little boy doesn't do such things! Lol. I've also answered the door in my jamas a few times to various delivery people. My theory is I'm sure they see the huge bump!

mrsb87 · 30/09/2014 10:09

Thanks me will give them a call. It's not a lot of blood, just a few smudges. It will settle my mind though.

sazzlehopes · 30/09/2014 10:18

Ha yes it does feel like that binky Blush

And yes lol flip, just trying to bring it back to the crazy days I spent on the ttc bus threads! I do enjoy an overshare Grin

Good luck mrsb I wonder if we will squeeze in anymore September babies...

Right, must get off mn and the sofa, I have a changing unit to paint that my lovely dh has made. Need to go and put some clothes on other than my nightdress too, but really struggling to be bothered. Hope this baby arrives soon, I'm turning into a couch potato!

Hope all's ok mrsb maybe you'll have the last September baby?!

hefner · 30/09/2014 10:33

Well it doesn't look like I'll be having a September baby Hmm. I can't believe I'm overdue, I was so sure he would be on time or early. I'm usually desperate for time to sit and read quietly on my own (doesn't happen often with dd around) but I'm already getting bored of it! I think I'll go for a walk and have a bounce on my ball to see if I can encourage the baby to move down a bit.

Me23 · 30/09/2014 10:36

Glad to here it isn't a lot mrs good luck, hopefully won't be waiting much longer.

Mil has gone home again, her visit got me a bit worried as while she was here she didn't offer to do anything around the house or with the kids to help us and she's plannig to come for a week after baby is born to "help" us. I said to OH she better actually help otherwise there's no point in her staying as it will actually make our lives harder making her food etc.. I also got annoyed with her re food (pregnant women very possessive over food) OH went shopping and bit up bits to eat he bought cheese and tomato pizza (small) for myself and kids (I'm veggie) and lots of meat snacks and MIL wanted pizza too even though I gently explained that was to feed me as kids and she still took some! I was left with 2 small slices for dinner. She doesn't seem to realise I need to eat enough. For eg if we go out for lunch she'll say ooh we won't be needing dinner after that, eh I intend to have 3 meals a day (like most people) i have a baby to feed too. I'm sorry I am ranting but really needed to get that out! Grin

Grannyapple · 30/09/2014 10:54

me I totally sympathise with you & MIL...mines is lovely but is exactly like that too... We pretty much 'ban' visitors who don't help within the 1st 2 weeks for that reason...don't need DH using up his pat leave running around after everyone Hmm.

1st day of mat leave for me...couldn't get a shore in peace as DS wanted to have one at same time....feeling tired but no chance of a snooze really with these 2 in tow...roll in Thursday when they're both in pre school/nursery...

Oh congrats to all the new arrivals...I'm 37+5 at the mo but want to hang on to as close to 40wks as poss as sis will be down to look after the kids so I can get a rest Grin

hefner · 30/09/2014 10:55

That sounds very annoying me, I would have been tempted to stab her hand with a fork if she tried to touch my pizza! Never come between a pregnant woman and her food! Hope she's a bit more helpful after the baby has arrived. Could you give her specific jobs to do?

Last time my MIL was very helpful but my parents just sat around drinking tea. This time I'm planning to be more demanding, and give them jobs to do - I think they want to help but aren't very proactive whereas my MIL will notice what needs doing, ask if I mind then get on with it, as well as keeping dd entertained. She's great but unfortunately lives in a different country so will only be able to visit for a few days.

LondonJen · 30/09/2014 10:56

Wowee Bump congratulations! Thanks for sharing how it happened, I've had a bit of backache so am watchful for every twinge I can compare!

Exciting MrsB sending you good progression vibes!

Sorry you're feeling anxious Stigz. Understandable. I hate to say take one day at a time as it must be so hard not to worry but that's the best advice I have Thanks

Me that sounds so trying, do not take a pregnant woman's food!! I think you need to borrow my MIL she actually brings raw chicken breasts prepared in a dish all the way from Newcastle to London ready to go in the oven just to feed us. Y'know cos we don't have chicken here Hmm

So the Birth Centre 'hospital bag list' has 2 items that my previous hospital list doesn't; a sieve and a mirror if you want to use the pool. DP says its for poo catching! Is it?! What's the mirror for??! Wouldn't it get steamy near the water..?!

mrsb87 · 30/09/2014 11:06

Oh gosh me I think I would have let my pregnancy hormones boil over! I would have had serious words with dh.

All this talk of still born babies is really sad. So so sad Sad

MundayCakes85 · 30/09/2014 11:13

Congratulations bump on your early arrival, and good luck Mrsb FX the sweep works for you. No sign of anything here. Drinking RLT- eurgh!
Feel for you me my PIL are the same, they came a few weeks ago and won't budge from the sofa so I ended up on a stool Angry

robindeer · 30/09/2014 12:18

Hi all, so hard to keep up with this but I've been around on and off from the start. Can't believe how many September babies there are! Congratulations to all new parents.

I'm currently 36wks and baby is stubbornly breech so MW has us booked in for a scan this week. There has already been some talk of caesarean section which I would love to avoid. I would like the opportunity to have a natural birth (preferably in water at our lovely local MLU!). If they offer ECV I'll take it but my big concern is that there's a reason s/he is breech. This is our first so it's all new to me. Anyone with advice on how to get baby to turn around please share! I would be crawling around on hands and knees and bouncing on a ball right now if it wasn't for the workmen in the house. I wish they'd hurry up and finish so I could have a bit of privacy/nesting time.

If anyone is updating the list could I be added please? I must have fallen off at some point. Robindeer DC1 (unknown) EDD 26th Oct.

Thanks!

madamweasel · 30/09/2014 12:18

I was really unsure about whether to watch the Panorama programme last night, I normally love a good medical documentary, but was worried it'd upset me too much. I braved it this morning and it wasn't too bad, focused mainly on what the doctors are trying to do rather than the sadness of the families.

me my DM is just like that, she's great company but a lazy sod (must be where I get it from) but luckily being my mother it means I can just tell her to go and make me a cup of tea or whatever and she'll do it. I'd never say that to my MIL, I'd whisper to DH and get him to ask her for favours.

fatpony · 30/09/2014 12:50

Congratulations bump!!!

I also thought of watching the panorama but DH was worried it would be too upsetting so close to our due date. Might watch on iplayer....

Lily31 · 30/09/2014 13:03

Congratulations bump!

Hope things keep going well for you mrs

I too will be on the thread until at least late Oct, if not Nov knowing my family history of going late.

me that would drive me nuts. My MIL is similar with food. She isn't small but always orders starters or wants to share, then eats everyone else's food. I once had a mozzarella salad which had a proper delish ball of cheese. One year on, she still talks about the size of it! Grrrr...

Had my 36 week scan this morning. I'm feeling very relieved as my placenta has moved and I can give birth naturally. Baby is head down and already estimated at 7lbs - big but not worrying. I thought it was going to be huge.

Feeling for those who have bubbas who want their head to be close to their mummy's.

I didn't watch Panorama, what was that all about? I did watch Horizon which I felt was a little bit weak.

gunwalloe · 30/09/2014 13:07

Congrats bump

My scars really stingy today the midwifes round later to remove my staples im dreading what shes going to find under the dressing.

I wonder who will have the first October baby?

binkybunny · 30/09/2014 13:22

Should have stayed Sat on the sofa, just kicked my last bit of Annie Sloan paint across the nursery room carpet. So not only do I not have paint to finish the changing unit I also have a massive paint stain on the carpet which nothing is shifting. Any ideas?

Kirstipops · 30/09/2014 13:23

Ugh, had about 3-4 hours sleep last night so feeling a bit shite. Went to bed with Braxton Hicks still going strong (unusual for me to have them last that late on) so I think my mind was working overtime that baby was "in the post", also had worst numb hands ever from CTS; DH couldn't get to sleep either so we ended up watching videos of the virtual tour of our maternity unit on Youtube and talking about birth plan stuff. Eventually drifted off some time after 5. Now I think about it, we should have used that time in bed to dtd as well, missed a trick there, doh.

Me23 the MIL sounds like hard work! I think I could possibly take the prize for being the jammiest sod in the MIL department, mine has not long ago joined a convent. No, really! How's that for a non-interfering MIL? She's actually a lovely woman, I hope she's happy.

Jen - you need to bring your own sieve? I have heard that's what they use to wheech it out of the water though Grin I guess the mirror is for the mw to dip in the water and see how far down the baby is kind of thing, so it wouldn't be steamed up when it's submerged? I think I saw a mw do that in one of the natal hypnotherapy pool births I watched.

fedupofrainydays · 30/09/2014 13:27

Really really really want the builders to FUCK OFF out my house now. Drilling loudly so tried to sleep in sofa to find someone digging a hole outside the window I was facing. Go upstairs to try sleep and bloody doorbell keeps going as they have lost the key to our house. Agggghhhh Angry

Georgebythesea · 30/09/2014 13:32

Congratulations bump :)
I'm 39+ 3 today and feel really rough and exhausted even though I slept ok.I seem to go though phases of days I have energy and want to do loads of stuff and days all I want to do/can do is lie down. Are other people finding this? I feel quite weak today and the idea of going into labour scares me whereas on an energetic day I'm just wanting it to happen! I'm not managing very well on perineal massage(pretty uncomfortable!) or raspberry leaf tea(I don't like it) but my 3 brothers and I were all early so fingers crossed(Just not today!).

gunwalloe · 30/09/2014 13:32
