goats hope you manage to get things going a bit.

mrsb at least you know that you will have your baby by the end of this week, how exciting!

I'm so fed up of having quite strong contractions for an hour or two then nothing happening! They feel different from bh so I keep thinking this is it... then they just go away. Been happening since Thursday night nearly everyday.

Last night I had a scary hour when I thought the baby might be ready to push out, embarrassingly I was just really, really constipated Blush Had some good practice at labour breathing though!

Due date not til Friday, although based on my lmp it's Wednesday. Trying to just go with the flow but wish my body would stop reading me with these stupid contractions!!!

ohthegoats · 07/10/2014 09:16

I was just really, really constipated

I'm finally the opposite!! Amazing clear out yesterday/overnight - totally brilliant. When it's all a bit painful and unpleasant in the next few days or so, I'll remember the blessed relief of NOT being constipated. Is that what natal hypnotherapy wants you to visualise do you reckon? Sorry for TMI.

mrsb87 · 07/10/2014 09:24

Oh binky how frustrating for you! I can relate with the false starts.
goats at least they haven't stopped dead! That's still hopeful Smile
I feel so much more relaxed knowing there is an end date. When I'm waddling round the house in pain I've got "Thursday or sooner, Thursday or sooner" on my mind!

YellowWellies · 07/10/2014 09:33

Sazzle good luck for the warming today.

Goats, binky, crumble everyone else getting early warning signs - hope it kicks off asap!

binkybunny · 07/10/2014 09:36

Yep I was just practising the relaxing my lower half of my body, taking nice deep breaths and breathing into my bottom. I was worried a baby might pop out down the loo though .

I do feel like things are changing , I'm sleeping for 9-10 hours and having a nap during the day. I keep feeling really sick too so I just hope one of these times the contractions will keep going. Probably the day my parents decide to go home and they will then have to turn around and come back.

binkybunny · 07/10/2014 09:37

Yellow how's it going with your lg? Sorry if you've posted, think I've missed quite a lot and not read all the way back!

hefner · 07/10/2014 09:56

Good luck crumble

Goats maybe that clear out is a sign that something is happening?

I had my second sweep today and it went much better, she said my cervix was more favourable and managed to complete a sweep this time. Bishops score was only 6 though, I don't think that's very high. I'm booked in for induction on Sunday if nothing happens before then, it's so nice to finally have a definite end date! The midwife said they will start with breaking my waters, wait a few hours to see if that works and then put me on a drip if not. I'm relieved that I won't need a pessary first, so hopefully induction won't take too long.

clops2000 · 07/10/2014 10:18

Wow, things are certainly moving along here. Hope everything goes well today sazzle.
I'm now 5 days overdue but my original due date worked out from LMP is Sunday so I'm trying not to get too impatient. Regular BHs keeping me awake most nights now though, end up lying there hoping them to crank up a notch but nothing... yesterday I felt quite patient and willing to wait, today I feel tired and nauseous and just want things to start happening. hoping the full moon will kick things off!

Me23 · 07/10/2014 10:26

Good luck crumble goats and binky hope things pick up soon.

I didn't sleep well last night due to this sore throat. Am very tired today have do much to do around the house.

robindeer · 07/10/2014 10:28

Just back from my 37wk appt and mw suspects baby has moved into a transverse position. She called the MAU who have asked me to come in today and bring an overnight bag. Oh good lord. I'm sure they'll scan me and send me away again but I'm a bit worried that it means they want to keep me in. DP en route back from work to take me in now. Wish me luck!

mrsb87 · 07/10/2014 10:31

Good luck robin, fingers crossed it's an overreaction and you can go home later Smile

Me23 · 07/10/2014 10:33

Forgot to say granny enjoy your pampering. I could do with that right now but due to stupid car issues need to buy another so have to be on a tight budget.

Me23 · 07/10/2014 10:36

Sorry cross posted with robin best of luck hopefully baby isn't transverse. Let's is know how you get on.

robindeer · 07/10/2014 10:42

me if it is what do you think will they want to do?

MundayCakes85 · 07/10/2014 10:44

Good luck for the scan Robin and good luck everyone getting signs/ contractions.
I'm off for my second round of fingering today and I plan to ask her to be a bit "firmer" than last time. And maybe insist on a 3rd go Thursday as she's booked me for an induction at the weekend Confused

MrsBadCrumble74 · 07/10/2014 11:05

Hurumph…… clearly baby crumble was having a practice run. I had a good nights sleep which was fab so clearly it wasn't the real thing. Here's hoping things start gearing up before Friday as I have my induction booked then and I would rather things started naturally after a fairly epic induction with dd1.
Hope other ladies showing signs are moving along nicely. Will spend the day bouncing on my ball, drinking pineapple juice etc Smile

Pregnantagain7 · 07/10/2014 11:07

Sorry cabster probably a bit tmi for first thing Blush
mrsb this is definitely one of those times when them running their own business is not a good thing!

Well at least my waters didn't go during assembly, might try dtd tonight nor sure how keen dp will be after me mentioning mucus plugs this morning!! Grin

Me23 · 07/10/2014 11:17

robin if baby is transverse there's a good chance they will want to admit you as you are term now and there is a risk of cord prolapse if waters go. Unless baby turns then only option for birth is Cs with transverse but where I am drs wouldn't want to do Cs in absence of fetal distress at 37 weeks they would prefer minimum 38 but hopefully 39. Hope it all goes well for you today.

gunwalloe · 07/10/2014 11:37

Does anyone have any experience with DVTs? I have what feels like a pulled muscle in the back of my left leg just below the knee. Ive been googling and now am feeling paranoid. I mentioned it to the hospital on Sunday when I was there and the doctor said it would give me constant pain and not just hurt when walking he gave my leg a squeeze which didn't hurt and said it was fine. I cant shake the worried feeling though. Post pregnancy hormones are making me paranoid. I had blood thinner injections for 7 days so surely I cant get a DVT?

PunkyBubba · 07/10/2014 11:41

Robin I was found to have a transverse baby at a scan at 37 weeks, and was admitted to hospital ward straight away due to risk of cord prolapse if waters break (as mentioned in pp).

Another lady was admitted same day due to same issue, baby turned head down the next day, and she was released 48 hrs later (once the staff were happy baby was 'stable'). Mine went head down after 7 days in the hospital (I've been here 12 days today and going stir crazy!) but I also have an issue with excess amniotic fluid, so unless baby stays engaged, which he hasn't, they won't release me due to same cord risk). I am booked in for c section on Thursday when I will be 39 weeks. Not my ideal birth (dc1 was lovely hypnobirth in water) but there is still a chance if baby is engaged on the day they might try induction so am doing a lot of ball bouncing!)

Hopefully your baby will be found to be in right position, but if transverse don't worry, there is still a good chance they will move head down!

HTH and good luck!

Me23 · 07/10/2014 12:58

gun I had constant pain in same area for a week at 36 weeks so went to gp and was sent for a Doppler scan of leg straight away as a precaution as higher risk when pregnant or after surgery. I didn't hae any redness or swelling scan was fine and now i still get the pain from time to time.
I would go back for a 2nd opinion and ask for a scan to be sure.

Had mw today and had a sweep not favourable bishops score only 2! Oh well you never know things can change in a matter of hours.

mum2kiss · 07/10/2014 13:04

Gosh punky I can imagine it's much fun being in hospital for 12 days when you're not ill! Hopefully baby repositions for you.

My little flower still keeps.poking limbs out the front of my bump which is worrying me about b2b labour!

I had some mild cramping over night which amounted to a big fat nothing...39+2 today...

STIGZ · 07/10/2014 14:00

Ladies i really really sympathise if you are over due? Im only 38 weeks on thursday but feel like im about 48 weeks pregnant! Spd/sciatica is so painful today, my mum has taken dd today as it is really getting painful to walk from room to room! My body just feels so heavy & hard to carry around?? Last night i gave my lady garden a trim and noticed what looked like varicose vein inside my lady gardenShock its actually disgusting, will show midwife on friday, im hoping its pregnancy related & nothing sinister? Really paranoid at every wee thing just now... The cord prolapse thing mostly freaking me out with baby still being breech, as this was mentioned as a risk to me and to get to hosptial asap if i go into labour? .. I take it the risk is higher with transverse babies? As no mention of keeping me in when i expressed these concerns to midwifes about previous breech baby & quick labour ?? ... I just want this over & done with now but not before c/sec date next thurs, im done with worrying about "what ifs"

ohthegoats · 07/10/2014 14:04

My consultant appointment was interesting. Acupuncture has made things quite a lot stronger, but not any closer together. What has changed though is the pressure - all right on my perineum, my walking is comical. Decided to walk from acupuncture to hospital (prob half a mile) - took almost half an hour. Lots of stopping to lean against walls!

Baby is 3/5 engaged, no surprise there. I saw the midwife first and talked about how things felt as if they'd started, she was all quite laid back about how it's good to have avoided induction. She said she could do an VE, which I said no thanks to. No point really - either it's going to kick off in the next 12 hours or it's not. Then the Drs all had a conflab in the corridor and decided they wanted me to be induced on Friday, with a sweep today. I said that I'd decided on Sunday that a sweep today would be OK, but as things seem to be getting going on their own, then I'd prefer to leave it until Thursday. Lots of sceptical looks, but eventually decided that was OK.

Then the alternative to induction is daily monitoring starting Friday at 10am, so that's what we're going to do. If I haven't managed to get a sweep on Thursday (which probably won't happen - can't get a midwife appointment around here for 3 weeks usually), then they'll do one on Friday - which I will agree to.

So, very little in the way of arguing. I just stated my case, pointed out the current state of myself and they'll leave me alone. I don't mind another day or so of faffing around with these 'contractions' but I'd rather it all happened tonight/tomorrow - just cos I've got 8th in the sweepstake, and it seems only fair that I win.

Lily31 · 07/10/2014 14:27

Punky 12 days! That's full on. I hope you are getting some nice visits. Please vent on here whenever you want.

Good luck Robin. I have slight fear that bubba has either gone transverse or b2b. The movements have totally shifted and I too can feel them out the front mum.

Waiting to the mw, time to create a birth 'plan'. Glad you have a date mrsb.

Fingers crossed for everyone who's showing early signs.

Btw I have no idea what natal hypnotherapy is training me to visualise -always fall asleep. However, my mum always says a good bit of visualisation works when trying to push one out. A number 2 that is... Wink
