Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Aw Congratulations bump :)
MrsB I soooo emphathise..I am only 2 days overdue but REALLY had enough of being pregnant now.It does feel like forever especially after being so sick from week 6-23 and then all the other symptoms after that.Really hope we all who want to have our babies very soon! I woke up feeling a bit coldy and ill this morning though..don't really want to go into labour sick so going to have a very restful day.

hefner · 06/10/2014 11:05

Congratulations bump!

Sorry to hear you're having a crappy morning MrsB. Good luck with your sweep later. I've got my second sweep tomorrow but I'm not expecting it to do anything. Last week I was looking for labour signs, constantly hoping it would start soon but now I've given up and settled in for the long haul. I think I'll feel better once I've got my induction date.

ohthegoats · 06/10/2014 11:10

My weird feelings last night came to nothing! Much to boyfriend's disappointment - he got all excited. Bless. Got an email at 3am from a friend due the same day as me saying that she's refusing sweeps and inductions until the weekend, so I'm going to join her.

Which means relaxing day for me. GI've come to the cinema on my own to see something involving David Tennant and Billy connolly, which hopefully will do some good on the oxytocin flow! Bought nice food at m and s to eat while I'm in there. We've decided that we're going to try the magic 3 shags in 24 hours thing, because apparently I'm still sexy (double bless). This was suggested both by the Internet and my mum!

Definitely a fat hot curry tonight.

ohthegoats · 06/10/2014 11:13

Also decided to enjoy small things like coming to cinema with wallet and phone in one pocket, lip salve and sanitary towel in other pocket. I doubt travelling light will be a feature of next weekend! Or ever again!

Congratulations bump! That was nice and quick, well done to you and the fingering chappy!

Missus2ndwife · 06/10/2014 11:30

Congrats Bump!! She sounds gorgeous

Pinkie - I've been having acupuncture, hydrotherapy and now massage for my pgp. I do think it's worked - well I hardly feel it now. Both physio & massage therapist say a lot of the pain & discomfort has to do with the hips and releasing the muscles in the glutes. If you can't get a massage, use a tennis ball instead (place a ball between you and a wall then wiggle about) - it hits the spot (in a pleasurable painful kind of way). Also get an exercise ball and try do figure of eights with your hips.

Today, I will be mostly washing all my baby stuff.
I will also attempt to pack my hospital bag Grin

cabster · 06/10/2014 11:33

Lovely news bump!

MrsB a DH on a promise will ALWAYS find a way!

Bed nest now attached to bed - I banged my foot on the bastard thing at least twice in the night, and getting up for a wee now involves the kind of gymnastics I really shouldn't be attempting at 39+5.

It's starting to quieten down a bit round here isn't it! Shall we ask MNHQ for a tumbleweed icon?

FlipFantasia · 06/10/2014 11:37

Cabster I agree it's quieting down a bit here but the babies are coming thick and fast on Facebook! I love checking in to see the latest with labour/babies! It will be great when we're all over on the other side in post natal.

Me23 · 06/10/2014 11:39

bump congratulations!

OH keeps asking when baby is coming and saying as I'm a midwife I should know how to coax her out (jokingly of course) I'm 39+2 today which is the most pregnant I have been. I've been sleeping quite well recently so I think my body is subconsciously keeping her in to ward off the sleep deprivation for longer.

sazzle glad to hear milk is in and Ned doing well, hope today brings more good news for you.

mrs after your sweep I would ask for another in 48 hours if you wan it to try to avoid induction.

Sending labour vibes to everyone waiting it really won't be much longer (even though it feels like a lifetime sometimes)

mrsb87 · 06/10/2014 11:51

Thanks me I'll do that. I do want to avoid induction if possible as I did want a water birth or to at least labour in water.
Must try and think positive, nice thoughts. It just isn't happening today!

Missus2ndwife · 06/10/2014 11:57

Whilst this is my first baby and I am 36+5 I feel like I will be pregnant forever! It's terrible how I just want this baby here now.

I asked hubbie last night when he would like to know I was in labour. He said from the start. I don't want to stress him out (one of us in labour is bad enough, but two will be stressful)

For those who have been through this before, when did you tell your partners/ when are you planning on telling them?

pebble82 · 06/10/2014 11:59

Congrats on the new arrivals. Not long for all of us now although I had a really weird dream last night about the baby never coming and me bring the first woman to have her child living inside her. I was on bbc breakfast and everything!

YellowWellies · 06/10/2014 12:11

Missus as someone who's waters tend to go early on - I've always tended to tell him as soon as they go.

fatpony · 06/10/2014 12:21

Congrats Bump!

sazzlehopes · 06/10/2014 12:27

Thanks for all kind words.
Sorry to those still waiting, hoping you get your babies soon.
Congrats to bump lovely news.

We are ok, just waiting which is the hardest. He will end his 72 hours cooling early tomorrow morning and they will warm him up when we should know more by the eve I guess. I'm holding onto lots of positive stories about this treatment and putting all the 'what ifs' out my mind. It's better to always be moving forward I think.

Keeping everything crossed for you all Sazzle. Puppyandmrsthedog x

CellyD · 06/10/2014 12:35

Congratulations bump wonderful news.

Lily31 · 06/10/2014 12:46

Sending positive thoughts Sazzle.

Pebble - what a mare!!! That really tickled me though, BBC breakfast... I can picture it now.

FlipFantasia · 06/10/2014 12:48

Sazzle I've been thinking of you and Ned. I'm delighted you've gotten colostrum. I had not heard of cooling as a treatment for hypoxia before you posted. I'm willing the 72 hours to pass quickly - I can't even imagine how stressful this must be for you. I hope Ned has the best outcome and that he's getting mummy cuddles soon.

YellowWellies · 06/10/2014 12:58

Sazzle good luck hon. It must be so nerve wracking. I hope the cooling works its magic. My niece's best friend in the NICU had to be cooled for hypoxia and it worked. Sending lots of love xx

kittyvet · 06/10/2014 13:10

Congratulations bump!
Fingers crossed for you and Ned sazzle

madamweasel · 06/10/2014 13:37

Congratulations bump

Another one here who had to google cooling, but keeping everything crossed things turn out well for you and Ned, sazzle Flowers

Pregnantagain7 · 06/10/2014 13:45

A massive congratulations to bump hope you are enjoying lots of newborn cuddles Flowers

sazzle so glad you managed to get some colostrum and hope you will be enjoying lots of coddles soon.

So I went and had my fingering from a random stranger, didn't get as lucky as bump no handsome young man for me just a very kind lady doctor.

Does anyone know anything about bishops scores? Mine was six is that good? She said she could just get a finger in but cervix was very soft. On my notes it says it's a little posterior still and short I know it's not meant to be posterior but is it meant to be short or long?! Confused

I'm seeing lovely (jizz tea) midwife on Thursday for another sweep.
They also booked my induction date (at my request) for the 16th which is three days over my due date. The consultant seemed to think that this baby wouldn't be much more than 9lbs 9 according to the measurements on my last scan but I know that the scans aren't very reliable.
It feels good to have an end date am hoping they can get on with the induction ASAP when I get there last time I had to wait 4 days as it was so busy. It's dds 4th birthday on the 20th so would love to be home by then.

Pinkie2103 · 06/10/2014 13:51

Congratulations bump and hope you have proper cuddles very soon sazzle

Thanks for all the PGP advice. I'm seeing an osteopath tomorrow and walking around home rather gingerly at the moment but at least I'm no longer screaming in pain. I'm hoping for a VBAC so don't want to have my movement compromised

ohthegoats · 06/10/2014 14:17

Yeah, don't go and see 'What We Did on Our Holiday' if you're feeling remotely emotional. Major blub.

On the subject of when to tell blokes about labour, I wondered that too. I've not woken him up on any of the nights when I've had the bad BH/period pain combo, and that's been three hours or so. I figure that it's best one person has some sleep.

I was thinking that if it happened during the day, I wouldn't get him home from work mid day unless I really had to. Same as I'd let my doula know but not get her over until it got 'serious'. Not really sure what serious means to be honest though!

In a weird I way I sort of want a bit of time to get used to the pain bit and how to manage it, on my own. Does that sound mental? I know it won't be really painful either comparatively at early stages, but just to get my head around it on my own.

Lily31 · 06/10/2014 14:30

Not mental at all Goats. I am so much better at pain management if I am on my own. In fact that's why I want as little people as possible during the labour.

In fact zoning others out is always the way I cope and I'm hoping the natal hypnotherapy combined with the zoning will help.
