stigz I had one yesterday, so so good! Definitely worth it!

ohthegoats · 05/10/2014 20:17

Good cake plan, I'm going to bake tomorrow too. Nothing else left to do... the house is spotless (as far as a building site can be), 3 years worth of paperwork finally properly sorted... COME ON BABY...

I do feel really, really odd this evening. Sort of a jittery, sicky, tummy upset type feeling. Might just have been the massive roast I had at lunch time though I suppose. No curry tonight, no room.

ohthegoats · 05/10/2014 20:24

I suppose I should thank being overdue for actually getting around to the paperwork, without this time to do it, it would have been another 18 years.

STIGZ · 05/10/2014 20:26

This nearly made me cry in a good way ...

PGP/SPD advice - help!!

I'm 37+1 and woke up this morning at 5am (had already been a crappy sleep) and couldn't turn over in bed due to the intense pain in my left hip/groin/just at the bottom edge of bump (hard to explain location). Worst thing was I was in bed with my son and didn't want to scare him or wake him up but the pain was so bad and I was kind of stuck mid turn and then screamed out. Husband ran in thinking I'd been stabbed/was in labour and of course my son burst into tears. I eventually managed to get up and its not hurting now but just wondered if this sounds like PGP?

Its happened a couple of times in the last two weeks but this was by far the worst. I have been trying to sleep with a pillow between my legs again and bump is supported but I'm now worried about this happening during labour

I mentioned the pain to my midwife last week and she said it was normal, e.g. round ligament pain, but this was excruciating and lasted a while so I think its something else. I'll obviously call her back but just thought I'd ask here too. Thanks!

madamweasel · 06/10/2014 08:16

pinkie I get what I can only describe as a sort of cramp in my hip joints that makes me shout and scream out like cramp does. It's intensely painful, very sharp and feels like it's right inside my hips. The only way it eases is if I flex the joints, so if I'm standing up I have to squat down until it goes. It comes on very suddenly and goes after up to 30 seconds or so. I often get it when my hips are tired from walking about. I feel a proper idiot yowling and squatting in public but it's so sharp I can't help it. I also get achey PGP at night but the cramp is different. I've had it last time pg and this time, in 3rd tri only. I don't know what it is or why it comes. I don't know if it's similar to what you felt?

clairemiss79 · 06/10/2014 08:38

pinkie i was having sharp shooting pains down one side of my pelvis at the front when i d stand up. During a routine check they found i have a urine infection. 2 days on antibiotics and the sharp pain - which i thought was my pgp - has gone! Worth asking them to check your urine

STIGZ · 06/10/2014 09:02

pinkie i get exactly that pain, its very scary as its so painful, it only happens when i lie on my left hand side, so i dont lie on that side anymore... I dont know what it is either, i thought maybe trapped wind ? One night i was actually breaking out in sweats trying to find a way to get up as everytime i tried to move i honestly felt like i was getting stabbed in the side of my bumpShock i can only sleep on my right side, so sleep is getting impossible as i am so bloody uncomfortable .., 10 days & bloody counting now, i seen every hour last nightAngry

bumpbangbump · 06/10/2014 09:49

mrsb87 · 06/10/2014 10:08

1 week overdue, I'm tired, fed up and today of all days the dog decides to piss AND puke on the carpet, all before breakfast. Generally feel like crap today and want it to be over now Sad

weeonion · 06/10/2014 10:17

Congrats bumpvangbump!!

MundayCakes85 · 06/10/2014 10:23

Congratulations Bump and baby bump!
Sorry to hear some of us are feeling so uncomfortable. My hips make the worst popping/ cracking noise when I get up in the night for a wee Sad and at 8 days overdue DH and I and the whole family/ Facebook are definitely ready to meet BabyCakes!!

Lily31 · 06/10/2014 10:25

Congratulations bump. Enjoy your little girl.

Pinkie that doesn't sound fun. Might be worth trying to get a referral. I have PGP but that's at the back of my hip. Your inner thigh muscles get really over worked trying to hold you up during pregnancy. This in turn pulls down at your pubic area. Could you get a deep tissue massage? My osteopath worked my thigh area and I don't get fanny daggers any more.

mrsB feeling for you. I don't know what it's like to go overdue as I'm a FT? Can only imagine you are trying to draw on every inch of patience left. Have the midwives worked out a plan for you?

mrsb87 · 06/10/2014 10:33

lily I've got to the point where I think in going to be like this forever and it's never going to end (melodramatic I know!). The constant pain in getting unbearable. Not sure if anyone I is familiar with the cartoon "Charlie Chalk" but I've been walking like Arnold the Elephant for weeks!
I had a sweep last Monday and I was 1-2cm dilated then and midwife thought I would have my baby now so I probably got my hopes up. I have another one later today and will give me a date for induction.
munday my hips have been making similar noises and it bloody hurts doesn't it?
Sorry for the winge , feeling very emotional SadSad

mrsb87 · 06/10/2014 10:36

Feel/look like this guy. How dh dtd with me last night I have no idea!

October 2014 // thread 15 // hooray, here come the babies!
Lily31 · 06/10/2014 10:45

mrsB I can relate to the elephant feeling! I am a very slow, waddling lump. DP is not interested in DTD at all... Don't really blame him.
I hope you get on ok this afternoon at your appt.

I had planned a day of jobs, but can't be bothered to move off the sofa. Must summon some energy from somewhere!

I also need to cancel our gym membership as I don't think we'll be using it until the new year at least. Hate cancelling gym membership! Feel I'll be judged.. Irrational I know considering I'm heavily pregnant!

FlipFantasia · 06/10/2014 10:46

Congrats Bump! Enjoy those newborn cuddles!

Mrsb and Munday sympathies my lovelies. Going overdue is rubbish. I went to 42 weeks with my first and those last two weeks were the longest of my life! Hope your babies get a wriggle on soon!

I'm 39+6 officially but 40+2 by my dates (and scan dates) and had a great weekend. Very relaxing but also productive. Hopefully our last as a family of four! I'd love baby to come at the end of this week, fri/sat as next Monday is a bank holiday here so Dh would get longer off.
