Van fixed, dh in argos buying my gym ball and about to drop it off. Slightly happier MrsB again Smile

STIGZ · 02/10/2014 13:59

My appetite is non existant ... Never thought i would say that im actually looking forward to cooking Confused once my taste buds return to normal, i have only fancied curry & chocolate this whole pregnancy, have not eaten much fruit & veg at all, but have kept taking my maternity vitamins as im paranoid that she will not be getting enough out of my shady diet Shock

Currently sitting thinking about what i fancy for lunch ... Absolutly nothing! not even curry Sad ... Heartburn is bad though and think this is half the problem as rantinadin is not taking it away anymoreAngry

SweetPeaPods · 02/10/2014 14:49

Stigz can you go to dr get something stronger or different ?
I'm sometimes taking 3 ranitidine a day probably shouldn't
I decided to clean the bathroom as they really needed doing and I've been putting off. I'm now exhausted. Would love to lie down as ds at nursery this pm but got mw at 4 and I stripped the beds this morning so need to make them up. Wasn't sure whether to send him as he has a snotty cold but I knew if I didn't I would get nothing done today.

Lily31 · 02/10/2014 15:30

pregnant what a piece of advice! Love it... Not mentioning that to DP. Blush

Feeling just like you sweetpea. I took the bus and tube to town to visit John Lewis on Oxford St. I keep having these moments where I think I've got loads of energy. I got there and huffed and puffed my way around. I've been offered help by four people today to either carry something or pick something up. I saw my reflection and realised I look like such a hippo.

A little old lady asked me in the lift if I am carrying twins! Arghhhh.... I almost felt like saying yes to avoid the embarrassment.

Didn't even buy anything after all that...

Got home and tried to do a bit of housework, but I'm totally fooked. Moan, moan, moan.

Just wondering, do newborns often wet through to the sheet in the night? It's just that we have the chicco next 2 me crib to use for the first few months and I can't seem to find a waterproof sheet for it.

SweetPeaPods · 02/10/2014 15:38

Lily ds never did. But we fed every 2-3 hrs so often did nappy change at same time.
Good nappies plus good fit and you shouldn't touch wood have too many problems.
Just off to show mw my prolapse, why am I embarrassed ?! They are going to see a lot more very soon!!

Lily31 · 02/10/2014 15:42

Hope your appt goes ok sweetpea.

robindeer · 02/10/2014 15:56

Well I've had two scans today- baby is definitely breech. ECV booked in for tomorrow morning. Is it worth me trying to turn it by crawling around? After hospital I had a nap which ended up lasting an hour and a half! I thought this part of mat leave was meant to be relaxing! Instead I've got workmen hanging around making mistakes, work to do and loads of medical appointments. I'm exhausted! Fingers crossed it works tomorrow and I can relax a bit start symptom spotting.

BadgerInBury · 02/10/2014 15:57

Loving the thread today! Will be thinking about HobNobs in a while different way from now on...

On a food-related tangent, do you know what I'm looking forward to? Being able to eat a meal without dropping stuff on my bump.

bumpbangbump · 02/10/2014 16:13

Got fingered by a nice young chap... Not even a bloody show to show for it. In better news, he said I'm already 2-3cms dilated but the my cervix still has some work to do.

Now for a biscuit and some curry. You lot always make me hungry, not thirsty funnily enough! No more coffee for me Grin

Lily31 · 02/10/2014 16:17

Nice one bump. Oh and good dilation news too.

Kirstipops · 02/10/2014 16:24

Knew what you meant sazzle :) I do feel good today after a kip followed quickly by a 2 hour nap but felt pretty shitty yesterday and would have wept if I'd gone into labour cos I wouldnt have had the strength!

Braxton Hicks are back in full swing today, but more frequent than Tuesday, every 5 or so mins lasting a minute then they die down for ages! I suppose it means things are heading in the right direction, still a bit para I'll mistake discharge for dribbling waters though!

Get bouncing Mrsb :)

Kirstipops · 02/10/2014 16:25

Hope the fingering proves productive bump Grin

sazzlehopes · 02/10/2014 16:35

Bahahaaa bump! A young chap, get you hey! And 2-3 already impressive. I didn't have any blood until the evening and my sweep was 11am. So you never know your luck!

bumpbangbump · 02/10/2014 16:44

Got lucky once today not sure I like my chances for twice. My oh obviously rates this mans technique, even though he wasn't there, as when I called him a minute ago his first words were"are we on then?"

mrsb87 · 02/10/2014 16:50

I didn't get my bloody show til early the next morning and was still loosing plug for a day or so after. A young man eh? Ooh lucky you bump! Hehe.
Yep bouncing and wiggling away dreaming of my perfect menu....
baked camembere to start, or pate!
Rare- medium steak with Stilton sauce followed by proper chocolate mousse. All washed down with a nice glass of wine....nom nom nom.
My mum is coming up next week and has promised to cook me a special dinner. Score!

mum2kiss · 02/10/2014 16:52

So I've been on mat leave almost a full week...I've done nothing more to.prepare for the baby. Each day I take dd to school, come home, go to sleep, watch some tv then go back and pick her up! That is the extent of my available energy. I haven't washed any baby clothes and I don't actually know where everything is! I know we bought everything on my list but I've got bags of stuff thrown in the wardrobe and a big plastic tub full of stuff in the shed...the crib is up but not dressed. I have only half packed the hospital bags! Presumably nesting is something I just don't do!

SweetPeaPods · 02/10/2014 17:03

Badger another one here who is looking forward to not dropping food down bump! I was the same with ds at this stage.
Well mw didn't even look , just asked me to make a GP appt. I'm not sure why I thought mw would look not gp, but she said there was no point them both looking down there!
Does a possible prolapse warrant an urgent appt? If not might not get seen for 3 weeks. They did say it shouldn't affect labour thankfully.

YellowWellies · 02/10/2014 17:05

Badger once baby arrives you'll find you'll be dropping food on his / her head when they're nursing..... or is that just me? Blush

SweetPeaPods · 02/10/2014 17:20

Just put fresh bedding on our bed. If my waters were ever going to go on their own it would be tonight surely ?!
I thought it was rare for them to go first, midwife had to ARM last time, but reading this thread maybe it's more common than I thought?

kittyvet · 02/10/2014 17:29

badger another food dropper here- lost count of the times food has gone free fall on the way to my mouth. Now resorted to cutting food up first then holding plate with one had and fork with other!
mrsb you just described my perfect meal... Can I come to yours for tea?

ohthegoats · 02/10/2014 17:47

I've got workmen hanging around making mistakes

The odd job guy who came yesterday totally fucked up our bathroom. I got another company to come and check today, and ended up spending the last two hours driving around plumbing suppliers/stuck in traffic, trying to find all the bits that the yesterday bloke seemingly just chucked out without using. Instead he did things like not put in washers, not attach things properly to walls. Scream. Probably going to cost us £300 to fix the fuck up, that's if they don't have to take the tiles back off the walls.

I just don't have the energy to deal with this, and certainly no energy to deal with yesterday-bloke in a stroppy sort of way.

ohthegoats · 02/10/2014 17:49

MrsBs meal is almost exactly mine too. Something like an Aviation cocktail to start though too, maybe a martini. Oh, and Roquefort on biscuits for after with my glass of pinot noir.

mrsb87 · 02/10/2014 17:51

Haha yes all welcome! I am looking forward to it, clearly, as I am practically drooling over it already.
Yeah another messy eater here, I have to sit at the table to eat as eating from my lap is completely impossible.

Kirstipops · 02/10/2014 17:58

I want scallops, then a medium rare steak then crackers with a fuckload of gorgonzola. And rioja. Ohhhhhh rioja...

mrsb87 · 02/10/2014 18:13

So much cheese needs to be eaten in the month following the birth!
