Aww tak1ng that was a lovely birth story, thanks for sharing. The more I hear positive accounts of CS's the less worrying I find the whole thing.

Up all night stressing out about everything I possibly can. Sad

binkybunny · 01/10/2014 06:01

mrsb how have your contractions been going, any stronger yet or are they still being annoying?

stigz animals are supposed to be able to tell when somethings happenning, but you could just have an annoying dog! Hope you managed to get some sleep?

My parents arrive today, yay! I'm so looking forward to some day time company and being driven places so I can go and do things that I need to without worrying about being on my own and going into labour Grin

STIGZ · 01/10/2014 06:39

Congratz taking on your little girl, love your name choice !! Glad you found c/sec positive experience

mam i am a such a worrier aswell, even ended up on medication due to out of control anxiety, i must say that the worry about childbirth is much worse than the actual experience, fear of the unknown is terrible but once it is actually happning you will end up going with the flow and be absolutly fine Smile

That sounds lovely binky .,, bet you will get spoiled rotten Grin

Cramps have eased with paracetomal, dog away to bed and im still wide awake, just heard dp's alarm go off work, still getting braxton hicks but she is having a party in there at the momment, think she is trying to turn but her head cant get past my ribs!!

STIGZ · 01/10/2014 06:40

P.s hope you are in the land of nod .mrs b ???

kittyvet · 01/10/2014 06:57

Congrats taking. Darcy is a lovely name. I too am quite anxious about the birth thing but having positive stories is good and trying to live in the moment when it comes is all you can do I suppose!

binkybunny · 01/10/2014 07:05

I am terrified about the birth, until I turned 30 I couldn't even contemplate having a child as I was too scared of the thought of giving birth! Thankfully my good old body clock kicked in, I started watching OBEM, which actually helped, then hearing all the stories on here is putting my mind at ease. I just hate pain, blood and hospitals. I've never had to stay in hospital before either, I was 28 before I even went into hospital for anything more than A&E and it was only day surgery.

But after all of the above it will be worth it for the end result Grin

STIGZ · 01/10/2014 07:13

binky & kitty you will probably imagine it to be alot worse than it actually is ... I was in labour all day and didnt know it because i had imagined it to be excruciating from start to finish and it really wasnt !! Im more worried this time as i have dd to think about and sometimes the " what if's" get a bit out of control... But remind myself that millions of people do it every single day

sazzlehopes · 01/10/2014 07:30

Morning all. Sorry to those of you that have had a bad nights sleep. Well nothing new from me. We did dtd last night hoping to kick start things off but nothing overnight. I have a sweep today at 11 so will see if that helps things move along. Otherwise it's a hospital appointment fri to discuss my options. I wonder who will have the first Oct baby!?

mrsb hope you managed a snooze. I'm with you all the way!

missus I never had BH last pregnancy and my labour started naturally! and I've had none this time. Other feelings, back ache period type pains, but defo not BH. I'm sure it's just one of those things that some women get, some not...like MS.

OP posts:
ohthegoats · 01/10/2014 07:38

I've had that wavey period pain most of the night again, up and down to wee a lot and fitful sleep mostly dreaming about labour.

What a weird time this is! Just waiting for loads of pain, haha. I'm wondering whether it is worse for the blokes, not even having any little clues. Doesn't really feel as if we're enjoying ourselves at all... any conversation not about baby or labour feels really forced, like we're just going through the motions of being 'normal'.

mrsb87 · 01/10/2014 07:40

Ugh I managed about an hour or so from about half 5. Contractions are still more annoying than anything and (tmi) more bloody plug! How much mucus plug can I be producing because this is daft. I'm going to be in such a fun mood today Hmm

fedupofrainydays · 01/10/2014 07:55

mrsb I had an unbelievable amount of plug this time too. Just kept coming out in gross long slimy ropes (sorry way tmi but it's true). Way more than ds1 which was just one gloop about the size of a Jaffa cake.

ohthegoats · 01/10/2014 07:57

This is what worries me about a sweep. For lots of people they just seem to start this very slow grumbling latent labour that goes on for a fortnight. My body seems to be doing that a bit by itself, but at a low enough level not to be debilitating. Not sure I want to ramp it up - think that'll just make me more knackered when real labour actually arrives.

Hope it all kicks off for you soon mrsb.

sazzlehopes · 01/10/2014 08:04

Awww mrsb sorry you've had a shit night. Good though that you are still contracting? I've got nothing over here...
And I know about the plug. It must be a beast of a thing! I've lost what seems like an unhealthy amount!

Kirstipops · 01/10/2014 08:49

Mrsb :( that sounds a bit like the night I had on Sunday, hope you can have a lazy day today to conserve energy, if there is nothing doing today fingers crossed your restless night last night may mean you'll drop right off tonight!

My BH's/half hearted contractions are still lingering but not with same length or regularity as yesterday, though I was getting bored timing them! Still no plug or waters though, even my usual discharge is lighter.
The secret of TENS is putting the pads on early enough eh? That'll be interesting trying to guage that...

mrsb87 · 01/10/2014 08:55

I wouldn't say it's debilitating goats, that's probably a bit strong. yellow was contracting for a week and she didn't have a sweep so I don't think my situation can be blamed solely on the sweep. I was already 1-2cm dilated before she even started so I'm sure all these symptoms would have started eventually.
Just managed another hours sleep so I won't be a complete moody cow lol.

binkybunny · 01/10/2014 09:20

I keep having cold sweats, feeling dizzy/faint and seeing black spots this morning, it's the second time in just over a week it's happened. Do you think it's something to worry about or just part of being very pregnant?

ohthegoats · 01/10/2014 09:23

I'm not saying it's debilitating for you particularly - I'm thinking more of some mates who had sweeps - even just past their due dates. I had one friend who contracted for 16 days before anything kicked off.

I'm just jealous that there is NOTHING of note going on here Wink

Going to try a long walk this afternoon - get bus into town 3 miles away and then force myself to walk home without cheating and getting back on the bus half way.

robindeer · 01/10/2014 09:26

binky I would call the maternity assessment unit and ask their advice, it sounds very much like your blood pressure is struggling so you really need to get checked over.

Kirstipops · 01/10/2014 09:30

Yep binky give them a ring, doc told me at my last appointment to phone them if I had any visual disturbances or if I was feeling faint as I've always been prone to higher side of normal bp, they may want you in to check you over?

hefner · 01/10/2014 09:30

Nothing happening for me either. DH suggested meeting for lunch to cheer me up, so I must have been looking grumpy this morning! I think I was just disappointed to wake up and find that I'm still not in labour. I went for a 20 min walk on the way back from taking dd to preschool and feel a bit brighter now from being outside on a lovely autumn day.

Binky no idea, I think I'd probably have plenty to drink and have a lie down, and then call to check with the midwife if that doesn't fix it. Has your blood pressure been low?

mrsb87 · 01/10/2014 09:38

definitely get your BP checked. But try not to worry about it as you could just be tired or a bit dehydrated.

binkybunny · 01/10/2014 09:41

Had my bp checked on Saturday and it was perfect, had quite low bp until about 4 weeks ago. Will have a lie down then give them a call. Have a cake in the oven at the mo and parents due to arrive in an hour! Maybe I did too much this morning, it's scary feeling like this at home b my own!

MundayCakes85 · 01/10/2014 09:48

Cat sat on my lap/ bump for the second day in a row. He's been ignoring my belly for the past 6-7 months. Please tell me he knows something I don't!!
However no show, no contractions. 3 days over and getting grumpy now Hmm

Lily31 · 01/10/2014 09:50

Congratulations Taking. Enjoy your baby girl.

YellowWellies · 01/10/2014 10:00

Binky pre-eclampsia can come on very quick get checked today if you can or else we'll all just worry!

Goats a week of my first labours contractions would have killed me, a week this time didn't really stop me doing much. Its so unpredictable!
