Any June mums to be yet?

I've seen the group for May or June, but are there any other definite Junes yet?
Been getting faint positive lines for a few days but today have got a definite line, giving me a due date of around 6th June :)

Trying to stay cautiously optimistic at the moment as we had an MMC in May at 8 weeks.

So, who else is out there? :)

Lovely news Chookford! So exciting having appointments and scans and stuff Grin

I'm in that 'too early' stage where nothing is happening and nobody knows!

Although I am seeing my parents this weekend and they will wonder if I'm not drinking so I might have to tell...

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 17/10/2014 16:29

Scan date through, 4th December. Must sort childcare as probably shouldn't take a two year old in with me and don't want to go without dh.

Glad your feeling more relaxed sunbathing will be good for you to see the midwife next week.

I got so hot and exhausted changing the bed sheets today. Going out for posh dinner tonight at a Michelin starred restaurant. Was a wedding gift. Looking forward to it.

Guy, we'll be taking our one year old. We don't have anyone to look after her who lives within a three hour drive and the midwife said it was ok. We'll get someone to come up for the 20 week scan though.

AnythingNotEverything · 17/10/2014 17:55

I had an odd moment tonight. I had an email from school about DS' work experience dates in July. Suddenly realised we'll have another baby by then. Very very odd!

PerpetualStudent · 17/10/2014 18:22

Just ordered two pairs for maternity jeans (from the Next online sale - thanks for whoever on the FB group gave the tip off on that!) Excited, but feel like it might be the world's biggest jinx! Telling myself that as it's not technically for the baby, it doesn't count...

I got two tips in theMothercare sale a few weeks ago. I didn't tell DH. They were maternity/feeding and I can't imagine I'll have much time for shopping next summer with two under two!

I'm not superstitious. I'd like to be prepared though Wink

TheDetective · 17/10/2014 20:05

I ordered some summer maternity clothes from New Look in the sale a couple of months ago blush.

Has anyone with toddlers thought about a double buggy?

I've got 2 pushchairs - a Baby Jogger City Mini GT and a Maclaren Quest.

I'm thinking of using the BJCMGT for the baby, but buying a new car seat (old one was part of my travel system, which I sold because I didn't want to use it for another baby). I may buy a second hand carry cot for it. Not sure. Thinking of just using a sling, or car seat at first. For the amount I expect we will be out and about, I can't really justify a carry cot. Last baby went in his precisely twice. He hated it!

For the toddler I'm thinking if baby is in the sling, we use the BJCMGT for him. And get a buggy board for him (thinking of the easy x rider www.amazon.co.uk/Easy-X-Rider-Buggy-Seat/dp/B00DCQ37VS expensive but can sell it on).

He should be around 2yr 7 mths when I give birth. DP will be off for a month, and works part time. So we probably don't NEED a double buggy. I guess it might be useful - but too expensive to justify maybe? We would need it 5 months maximum I guess. I wouldn't buy a cheap one, as I can't cope with prams that aren't very easy to push!

Has anyone thought about things like this yet?!

Also thinking about renting the bedside cot. Although I do have a moses basket I can use. Has anyone seen (or used!) the bedside cots to rent?

In other news, One to One Midwives contacted me today. After a chat, I think I've made my mind up. I'm going to book at my local unit for the initial care, and transfer my care somewhere between 12-20 weeks. I'm feeling really happy about it :)

HariboBrenshnio · 17/10/2014 20:09

I wore a maternity top today! It's a nice one from last time and I was meeting friends for lunch and felt like looking nice and it's so comfy.

I got a part time job! Start in November, haven't worked for a good while as I came out of uni and had DS. Scared but excited about it.

My best friend left this afternoon. She's so good with DS and a lot of fun to have around, I miss her already. My boobs are really hurting, back pain is kicking in, the wee has become more frequent and I'm exhausted. Actually feel pregnant for the first time this pregnancy and I'm 8+1.

Hope those feeling unwell and have a good rest tonight.

Anything ahh two under two! I go between blind panic and excitement every few minutes!

TheDetective · 17/10/2014 20:11

I like to be prepared too Anything. I'll start picking up smaller bits like more muslins, bibs, basic clothing, tubs of milton, newborn nappies etc very soon. Once christmas has gone I'll get the big bits we need, which are car seat, sling suitable from newborn, and a nice swanky changing bag (old one was sold with the pram along with car seat!).

I also want a new play mat as ours broke Hmm. But I'll pick that up second hand.

Looking forward to browsing the NCT sales.

I sadly need pretty much a whole new maternity wardrobe, including fecking expensive feeding/maternity bras! I've lost 4.5 stone since I had my last baby. So nothing fits. It's why I need a new sling too! Mine is waaaaaay too long now!

I'll pick up packs of painkillers, homeopathic remedies, essential oils, witchazle, maternity pads and breast pads. Those were the things I ran out of or needed to send DP out for post delivery! Especially the painkillers that you can only buy 2 at a time!! Drove me mad!

Sorry for the first time mums, you probably don't even want to think about this stuff! I'm just a bit anal over organised at times, and drive myself nuts, let alone anyone else!

TheDetective · 17/10/2014 20:12

I still wear my maternity knickers Blush Blush Blush

AnythingNotEverything · 17/10/2014 20:12

We have an Uppababy vista so I think we'll get the rumble seat. Will have to go see it in action but it's the best bet for us I think. DD will only be 20 months so won't cope with just a buggy board yet. And I love my vista. I can't imagine well be going on long walks like I have done this summer so baby should be ok in the car seat attached to the wheels or I might get the snuggle seat too. I think they have a decent resale value so should recoup some of the outlay.

We also plan to sling a lot. I have a Caboo and a Rose and Rebellion so hopefully this one will enjoy being carried too.

Glad you've thought about your care - you sound really positive about it! I haven't even rung the drs yet ...

Chookford · 17/10/2014 20:14

Oh good a few of you have bought maternity bits already I shall join you then! My normal clothes are seriously uncomfortable now!!! All we need to buy new is a cot, everything else I kept from Dd well it's all in the loft so hoping its all ok!! Getting all the scan and midwife dates through makes it all real now doesn't it!! Exciting Wink

TheDetective · 17/10/2014 20:17

I've been thinking about a caboo. I'm going to go to a sling meet in march/april time to try some out so I can make a decision! Budget is under £60, so will have to see what I can get! I've got a Lenny Lamb woven wrap to sell on as too big for me, and a mei tei which I'll keep hold of for when baby is older. Although I think mei tei is fine from birth, I'm not sure. I'd prefer a stretchy wrap though!

HariboBrenshnio · 17/10/2014 20:23

A lovely October 13 babies friend is going to lend me her caboo. She had two as she has a baby who suffered with reflux so it's still in nice condition. Hoping it will allow me time to focus on DS is baby wants to sleep on me or is unsettled.

Iv been thing about doubles. Iv got a mamas and papas sola2 which I love but it can't be made into a double. Short walks I could use sling and DS in pram, though he's becoming a fairly competent walker I can't rely on it. No idea what to go for and one a budget.

TheDetective · 17/10/2014 20:27

I looked at the Baby Jogger City Select for a double when we first started TTC as I would have got one if we got pregnant prior to this month!

We tried a few in John Lewis. Definitely recommend trying them out.

If I need one, I will get one second hand. I hate wasting money Grin.

AnythingNotEverything · 17/10/2014 20:35

I have the NCT caboo close (I think it's called that). It was only about £40. DD got too big for me to carry in it quite quickly (ie by 5 months), but I grow big babies.

I still carry her now in a SSC at 10 kilos so definitely a plan.

AnythingNotEverything · 17/10/2014 20:36

I think the second hand market is great for doubles as they're often only used for a few months (unless for twins obviously!).

cuphat · 17/10/2014 21:52

DD will be just about to turn two when this baby is born. We really don't want to get a double as we love our icandy strawberry. So we're thinking of carrying on using it for DD and putting baby in a sling (we have a wrap one, plus an ergo carrier with newborn insert). But then DD loved the carrycot part of the pushchair, and it looks so cute (she was in it for over six months, despite being a long baby). We could use a buggy board for short journeys. I think we'll just see how it goes before thinking about a double.

I've got all my maternity clothes from last time and don't need anything else. Can't wait to get the stretchy waistband trousers out again (comfiest things ever!).

We also don't need much for baby at all as DD is only 16 months old.

AnythingNotEverything · 17/10/2014 22:00

Cup - were you super clever and managed pregnancies at the same time of year? Excellent planning.

All my maternity wear is basically linen as DD was a summer pregnancy. Not sure that'll cut it in March Confused

cuphat · 17/10/2014 22:05

I had hoped it would work out this way (thought joint parties etc would be nice) but never expected it to! It took a few months of intense planning last time, but happened straight away (without even looking at a calendar!) this time.

MrsExtraOrdinary · 17/10/2014 22:10

Oooo is it a tad indulgent I've got my eye on a bugaboo donkey?
