I've seen the group for May or June, but are there any other definite Junes yet?
Been getting faint positive lines for a few days but today have got a definite line, giving me a due date of around 6th June :)

Trying to stay cautiously optimistic at the moment as we had an MMC in May at 8 weeks.

So, who else is out there? :)

Hello newbies! So exciting to see our thread filling up!!

Jazzy what a pain - could you try a coffee? (This usually works for me, though of course down to one instant a day right now!)

I'm in the simultaneous hunger/nausea situation too! Finding I'm eating so much crap - can't stomach anything with complex flavours or textures so just loads of cheese and oatcakes, cheese on toast, cheese sandwiches (you get the picture!) bowls of cereal and ice lollies! I'm sure this can't be good for the bean or me - anyone got any tips for simple, quick, healthy but non-sick-making maternity meals?!

jazzyjenbo · 13/10/2014 16:15

Yes may try a coffee.. I'm not a big coffee drinker, i prefer a brew but have gone off both.. Off to boil the kettle. I'm gona have a bath as soon as the minded kids go home so that might help aswell. If no joy by bedtime will send dh out for prune juice.

Chookford · 13/10/2014 16:23

5 weeks today. No ms yet still but I've remembered what helped last time so thought I'd share.

  1. Extra strong mints (the strong taste and hit of sugar.
  2. Wasabi peas (same reason)
  3. Sips of lucozade. I think ms is mostly cause by blood sugar dropping which is why it's often in the morning. Eating little and often helps but if it's really bad, a sugar hit can really ease it temporarily.

Still not feeling at all pregnant! Wish I'd kept a diary last time so I could remember when symptoms started. I think it was around 6-7 weeks maybe.

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 13/10/2014 16:42

jazzy, first thing is to drink more water!

jazzyjenbo · 13/10/2014 16:45

Thanks, gaviscon was all i could buy without prescription but that doesnt help with the constipation. Got a coffee now so hoping that helps.

I agree with drinking lots of water. I never get constipated during pregnancy despite taking Pregnacare with iron. I drink water constantly throughout the day. Though hormones affect us all differently too.

Tori, you've made me fancy plain pasta with grated cheese now!

Jackiebrambles · 13/10/2014 16:50

I think fybogel is over the counter, I got some for post baby constipation! It's in a sachet and orange flavour (vile obvs).

I got constipated throughout my last pregnancy, I found lots of water, prunes, dried apricots, bran flakes and orange juice helped!

Fingers crossed it eases soon Jazzy.

jazzyjenbo · 13/10/2014 16:50

Guy, all i can drink atm without gagging is ice cold water. I've never been like this before in all 3 of my previous pregnancies. Fluid is going through fine. Nightmare

MrsExtraOrdinary · 13/10/2014 16:54

Sympathising with the constipated victims. I had bowel surgery last year inc a full heamoroidectomy.

SuperGlue · 13/10/2014 17:33

Hello everyone, I was hoping I might be able to join in? I got a bfp on Friday (you might have seen my thread on chat - bfp after 7 years!) My last period started 3 September so internet dates me as being due on 10th June - I am in week 6 of this pregnancy.

It is very nerve-wracking for me as I am 44 now and we have been 'trying' for 7 years and about 3 years ago had a lot of treatments which didn't work (3 iuis and 1 ivf) I had more or less given up hoping after that. We have 1 dd show is almost 9 now so this is going to be a huge change for all of us!

I had no clue as I had stopped tracking cycles etc. Last Thursday I realised I had been feeling a bit 'odd' for a week or so, so stopped and counted up my cycle. I have a regular as clockwork 28 day cycle and I was 9 days late at that stage. Honestly, I thought it was the menopause! Dh and I were heading away for the weekend on Friday and I did a test purely because I wanted to be sure it was going to be ok for me to drink gin Grin

When that word 'pregnant' showed up, I absolutely could not believe it! I started to shake and I think i went into a sort of shock. I am still in it today. It has not sunk in.

I have huge (for me!) boobs and had a lot of achey heavy feeling in abdomen last week. Boobs still sore today. Slight nausea so far but i think it was week 7ish last time before that kicked in (I only found out at week 7 so that is how I remember)

I am hoping to see GP tomorrow and get the ball rolling with that. I am veering wildly between excitement and terror all the time! I don't remember being like this last time. But my age is a huge factor in my fear this time.

Fingers crossed it will all be ok....

Good luck to everyone else due a June baby!

Chookford · 13/10/2014 17:45

I will b having words with the pharmacist re fybogel!.. Maybe they are not allowed to sell it to pregnant women without prescription. Neway the coffee worked a little, had only finished 1/2 a cup when tummy started rumbling, now in bath so hopefully there will b more movement later... I have never wished for a poo so badly!! So glad you girls r here to chat to.. Cannot imagine txting rl friends to ask for advise on bowels.

Superglue.. Welcome and fantastic news x

JennyOfOldstones · 13/10/2014 19:12

Wow fantastic superglue many congrats!

jazzy I get 'bunged up' a lot (IBS I think) and Senna works for me. Specifically asked the doc if it was ok because I know I will suffer when pregnant. Take two before bed and things usually move in the morning!

I am also on a diet of bread, cheese and mini cheddars so it's no wonder!

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 13/10/2014 19:19

Wow superglue congratulations! 7 years! I can't imagine how hard that must have been.

Mine insists on being naked all the time too. Sometimes she walks into our bedroom first thing in the morning stark bollock naked having left her nappy in bed.
I'm sure she's not ready though because if she says that she needs a wee or a poo, I ask if she'll use the potty and she says 'No!' looking a bit upset and frightened.
I clean up a lot of puddles.

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 13/10/2014 20:51

Oh and re. messy house: I always like to remind myself that when dd grows up she's not going to remember how tidy our house was, she's going to remember how much fun we had.
That's my excuse anyway. Would it work on your dh?
