Oh i'd love one if those American walk in closets!

Morning all
Writing fromthe comfort of the sofa- thanks lovely boss! Texted her just before 7 to ask if I could do emails at home and come in an hour later, in an attempt to miss rush hour with my suitcase

kkllww · 07/10/2014 08:34

Morning peeps,

American houses are great. Wish we had them on the same scale in the UK - those that come over here must think we live in little rabbit hutches!

I had my flu jab at the weekend and have felt a bit crap in the last couple of days. Thankfully I can work from home a couple of times a week so don't have to drag myself into the office.

amyandtom · 07/10/2014 11:10

Littlemiss I've had a few heart twinges too, mainly when I've been sat in the car. And I can't wait until Christmas too, currently watching Katy sue Christmas cake decorating! Smile

Viperama · 07/10/2014 13:47

I had a dream last night I slept through Christmas!!
No doubt triggered by my bedrest fun. Il's are coming here this year, we either go to Canada or Italy every year so this will be the first time in 9 years I get a real tree and get to use all my decorations.
Shame I won't be able to actually shop for the tree, we'll do it via skype I guess. I'm a December baby so get shamelessly into it, and tree goes up on my birthday, the 16th Grin
They don't do Christmas at my il's not like we do anyway, so I've decided I'm going to go whole hog, they won't know what's hit them haa haa

JacktheLab · 07/10/2014 15:32

Viper, sounds like a good Xmas :)

Hope they are doing the cooking though!

In my world it's mostly about heartburn :( my son had quite a crop of red hair when he was born (now blondeish) and quite the pelt of back hair, think this one might be the same :)

blankfornames · 07/10/2014 15:36

MOAN ALERT; If you are in a great mood, please walk on by!!

Since my bump began to grow (around 12 weeks), I've not had a proper sleep. Although I no longer need to get up to the loo anymore, I'm awake for hours every night. As it is I have to get up for work at 6am so really need my sleep. I'm nearly dreading going to bed at night as I know I'll wake up at some stage.

Also, I've always had a tendency to sneeze but the biggest culprit of my waking is an incredibly itchy nose, leading me to sneeze a zillion times. Sometimes this 'cold like' feeling will last for the whole day. I have it everyday and it's zapping the very little energy that I have. I know there's a thing called Pregnancy Rhinitis, so has anyone experienced this? Or any advice?

Huge apologies for my grumbly message. I thought after seeing Bean so healthy in my scan yday might enable me to sleep better but alas no.

Memphisbelly · 07/10/2014 15:44

Viper we have my family here every christmas, we are the only ones with a big enough room to fit us at a table, I normally go all out huge turkey, 6 veg, the works followed by 3 deserts that change every year. This year I may just do trifle and a cheesecake of some sort matbe key lime pie, mars bar cheesecake or malteser cheesecake. My mum will cook the bird for me this year so I just have the veg to sort. My big shop will consist of picking up veg and turkey on the 23rd from the market that we work on. All of my store cupboard stuff I will get a week in advance and then a minimal fresh shop on 24th so I don't kill myself in the crowds.

Jack oh my the heartburn is killing me today. Last time before it got awful I used soft rennies but they have been discontinued! So bought chewable chalky ones and vomited in the city center! So I need to see if mw can get a script from doc while with her tomorrow.

Well my coat that just fit me last tuesday at work has a 2 inch shorfall to get zip together this week so safe to say its popped in past week. I dont know where I am going to get a really really warm coat to fit me without it hanging off my arms.

freneticfox · 07/10/2014 16:11

Just catching up; been on bed rest since Sunday, stupid back!

Reading people's comments about head size... it hadn't even occurred to me. My DH's nickname in high school was 'Head' due to the size of his head in relation to his relatively small body. Oh god. Our son is going to have an enormous bonce isn't he?!

Waiting for an emergency physio referral, hoping I won't be waiting too long, I'm already bored out of my mind and really can't be taking any more time off work!

Frenetic my ds had my head so there is hope for you (as I said before though I have a mahoosive head compared to dh) and ds came out like superman so his shoulder came with the head! Confused

freneticfox · 07/10/2014 16:18

Oh god, my vagina.

Mind you at this rate I can see them telling me I'll need an ELCS with the state of my hips. I don't know how I feel about birth at the moment to be honest, feels like I have a long way to go first!

Going to try getting out this eve to a Mothercare first time parents evening, hoping a little bit of gentle exercise and baby stuff will cheer me up :)

I have arthritis in my hip and I didn't need a c section they repositioned the stirrups in a way it didn't cause me pain. My friend has been in a wheelchair for 3 months due to such bad pain in her hips and back and they induced her a week early so it can be done.

JacktheLab · 07/10/2014 18:12

Frenetic I'm likely to have an elcs so you'd have a buddy of that's what happens, in my opinion it's not the end of the world I had an emergency section last time and a planned section should be much better, calmer and relaxed I hope!

Realistically we have at least until Xmas to decide and really later than that to be sure Wink

End aim for all of us to have baby safe and sound and on the outside Grin

Memphisbelly · 07/10/2014 18:41

Jack my 2 friends who opted for ELCS needed to make final decision by 6 months and had their dates 6 weeks before!

My friend who had an emergency ine first time couldn't believe the difference in an elective, she was pushing baby on school run 4-5 days after and hoovering as normal too! Shock dh will be away with work straight from paternity so a c section is a no for me there is no way I could do everything inc school run alone after one

thingsarelookingup · 07/10/2014 19:21

Hi all I didn't make it on here last night but the scan went well yesterday and we are having a girl! I'm so excited. I would have been happy with either but I was secretly hoping a little for a girl and I can't believe it actually happened. My sister really wanted a girl and has 2 lovely boys so I hope there isn't going to be any jealousy there and a niece will be a bonus for her. I am moving to live near her next year so our kids can grow up together!

I will also be having an ELCS. My body just isn't very good at birth.

No need to apologise for the moan blank. That is what we are here for. We all go through times when we get fed up and it's nice to be able to vent here so moan away.

Love the mr men nursery donkir.

donkir · 07/10/2014 19:23

Evening ladies, had another scan to check cervix length thankfully all good so won't need it re checking. The sonograher put the ultrasound in 3D it was amazing seeing his chubby little face. Couldn't get a pic though as his cord was across his face.

Sorry some of you are still feeling rotten. I'm finding it hard to catch my breath especially when putting trousers or shoes on.

Weighed myself today I'm half a stone off what I weighed full term with ds. Good lord this baby is going to be huge!

donkir · 07/10/2014 19:24

Thanks things.

Memphisbelly · 07/10/2014 19:29

Thingsare great! Another girl to weigh up against all the boys on the thread Grin I am sure there will be no jealousy and she will love having a girl to spoil.

Donkir I am also breathless a lot more now.

Any of you know if a mw can prescribe stuff! i need heartburn stuff and hoping she can write a script (or sneak in to doc for one?)

How can I get my get up and go back im just slobbing or lying in the bath every night and have soooo much to do

amyandtom · 07/10/2014 19:49

Also breathlessness here too, especially when making the bed

Grinningcat · 07/10/2014 20:03

My goodness today has been a trial and I have learnt more about my new physical limits. I had a meeting in London and decided to walk to our train station and then from Waterloo to our office just past Westminster and then back. Consequently my right hip is a mess of pain and I swear I've pulled something in my right groin, my lower back aches and my legs are sooo tired. I've had a bath, but still feel really rubbish. I think I have learnt my lesson the hard way.

Memphisbelly · 07/10/2014 20:08

Amyandtom.......making the bed? What is that Grin this is dh's job!

Grinning safe to say that is your warning to slow down! I walked up the stairs in the multi story today as I forgot I was up 7 floors, there was a man behind me and when I got to my floor he said he had only come up 2 extra flights to make sure I didn't faint! I think I sounded like a 30 a day smoker Grin the last flight I loterally was yanking the bannister to get myself up.

blankfornames · 07/10/2014 20:19

Thank you Things!

suzimagoozi · 07/10/2014 20:36

Can relate to the lack of energy. PE lesson to teach tomorrow and thinking I'll be doing it from a seated position rather than my usual enthusiastic demonstrations. Lucky the children love 'being the teacher' and showing the others how it's done. Will see how yoga goes after school. Have definitely popped since I did it 2 weeks ago Grin

longbottom · 07/10/2014 20:38

Scan was long, baby was a sleepy pest!!
But did finally after a walk around and hula hooping my hips it moved to get spine measurements!
We didn't find out, one last surprise!!
DD was in awe and was fascinated by it all!

Memphisbelly · 07/10/2014 20:42

Blank your earlier message didn't show up on my mobile. Ugh how horrid for you, and totally exhausting, have you tried a body pillow?

EmilyCHN · 07/10/2014 20:45

Feeling sorry for myself.. SPD kicked in at the weekend (am 23+4) due 01/02/15.. And it's sore!! Just at the front of the pubic bone... Aggravated by pushing overloaded shopping trolley (family staying at the weekend...) and now am a hobbling heaving sighing creaking clicking moaning mess. Been at work which I love but taken twice as long doing everything because of having to think about how I'm sitting, standing, moving etc. Is anybody else suffering? Sympathy to fellow "I'm not enjoying being pregnant" MN'ers!
