Just Shagging 12th Thread for graduated viroids

Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 11th grads thread...celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed grin

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 27th outing.

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal here once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a secret facebook group, if you want to join, ask in-thread.

So, roll call below please, viroids! smile

Morning all! Day off today - bliss! Smile

Good luck today Cookie!!! GrinGrinGrin

I'll repost the roll call, I think there were a couple of updates!

Really glad the bleeding's stopped La, though frustrating that you've had to let the cat out of the bag with work. Hopefully it'll just lead to them being super supportive!

Grrr - preg rage on your behalf Popz re: the tossers! Honestly, where do these scumbags come from?!

I'm currently alternating Molten Brown body lotion and Bio-oil on the stretch marks, but nothing seems to help Hmm I've got them all the way down the front of pelvis (under the pubes!!) and I can't even see that anything is stretching there!!

Went to NCT class last night, we went into great depths about home birth vs hospital birth. The main draw of home for me is definitely being able to choose a water birth (coz you hire the tub in advance), but not sure that overrides the fear of something going wrong and regretting not being at the hospital.

Really conflicted about the water birth thing - I know it's what I want and I thought the issue would be that the pools were all in use at the hospital, but apparently they're really underused because there's loads of variables that might stop them 'letting you' get in the pool... Basically any hint of any sort of complication according to the NCT lass. And a lot of that comes down to some midwives just not being comfortable with water births, not that they say that... So I'm going to do oodles of research and be armed with lots of counter arguments to whatever they might try and throw at me!!

Nessalina · 23/09/2014 10:26

(Lol sorry, epic catch up post! Grin)

Pisghetti · 23/09/2014 11:05

Mine go from my belly button all the way down and I have them on the tops of my thighs too. The only consistent advice I've seen is not to gain too much weight - I didn't! I gained 1.5 stone which I lost giving birth. Try not to worry about them - they do fade eventually but I'm drowning in bio oil this time just in case

Leave question (in WWYD style) If I start my mat leave on my EDD I have 18 days of holiday left to use before my leave starts. I can only take these days from Jan 1st onwards. I'm planning to use two weeks (10 days) before my EDD so I finish work at 38 weeks. I'm torn on how to use the other days. As a single block (so I finish at 36.5 weeks) or taking a couple of days after the new year, working as normal for a few weeks and then working 4 day weeks for six weeks until 38 weeks?

Nessalina · 23/09/2014 11:18

Tricky one... What kind of work do you do again Pis?
I'm 34 weeks today, 3.5 days left in work (mostly sitting in front of a computer, customer-facing) and I am SO relieved to be finishing. Do you think you can make it to 38 weeks without being proper knackered??
Also, if baby arrives before due date won't you just lose that leave?
Personally I'd start mat leave a week before due date, take the two weeks so you finish at 37 weeks, then spread the other leave out like you said. It'll be lovely to have some short weeks! Smile

wilmabedrock · 23/09/2014 11:26

How stressful/physical is your job Pis? Working a 4 day week is nice. But if your job is quite easily manageable, you may get more benefit from just finishing early when you need it at the end. Unless you think you'll get bored.

Pisghetti · 23/09/2014 11:47

It's an office based job. I travel a lot at the moment but that won't be continuing in the new year. I hadn't thought about losing the leave if I give birth early... I've gone for this plan because I can use part of my annual leave after mat leave to take me up to the end of the year. Starting mat leave a week earlier and shuttling the annual leave to the end of the year would put me in the same position time wise but gives me a bit of a buffer if baby decides it wants out earlier than expected. I really don't want to have to go back for a few days in December before Christmas! So I can start mat leave at 39 weeks, I'll have 13 days left to take before.... The more I think about it the more I fancy the extra block of time off instead of short weeks so I finish at 36.5. I won't get bored!

I need to have a chat with my manager about what I'm actually going to do next year. If I'm not travelling, it's difficult to see how I can do my role? A nice desk based project to take me up to February would be nice Smile

Leela5 · 23/09/2014 12:28

pis when you're further along you might be grateful to have the option of a block of time off - even just couple of days - to rest and also to spend with Mr Pis before baby. But equally 4 day weeks would be nice! Chat with your manager and see what you come up with.

We've just been working out finances. We've luckily just managed to get a buyer for our Scotland house so will be getting a bit of money to put away. Going to lock most of it in an isa so we can't touch it for future deposit but some of it can go into savings for when I'm on mat leave.

Saw midwife and she said as long as there's no pain I should be ok. Looking forward to my scan tomorrow :)

Leela5 · 23/09/2014 13:42

PS in case anyone thought that was a smug money post in only talking about around £500 :) our house wasn't worth much!!!

Leela5 · 23/09/2014 13:43

*im

KatoPotato · 23/09/2014 14:19

Glad you're okay La, my preggo twin. lend us a tenner eh you minted thing!

My boob pain is getting unbearable, when does this ease?

ZylaB · 23/09/2014 14:32

Does anyone else feel like they're wishing time away? I'm always wishing it was my next scan so I'd know we've reached the next milestone. Think I might be overly paranoid hmmm

Leela5 · 23/09/2014 15:08

Is a quid ok kato? The foetus needs new shoes.

Our flat was in a shite area and we've lost money on it but at least it's sold, hooray!

Boobs sore - yes

Leela5 · 23/09/2014 15:08

And yes zyla particularly til 15 weeks!

laurenamium · 23/09/2014 15:16

Hoorah for house selling la!

I would also take a block at the end, ill be starting my maternity leave at 36 weeks, to give me a few weeks with DD. But I do a lot of lifting and floor based activities and a few of my pregnant childminder friends really struggled at the end so I'm taking cues from them! I've never done an office job before but I would imagine sitting all day could prove uncomfortable?

I am feeling rough today. Me and the toilet are on first name terms and my boobs hurt so much I had to wear my seat belt under my arm pits Confused it's weird how some days I wake up fine and other days I wake up like fresh hell Confused

Pisghetti · 23/09/2014 15:25

Totally Zyla! My next scan is at the end of October and it feels like a lifetime away. It doesn't help that I'm not doing anything yet. I want to book NCT classes and pregnancy yoga, make shopping lists and start stocking up on essentials, pick a pram, decorate the nursery etc etc but it's too early for all of it! I want to enjoy my pregnancy not wish it all away but I'm feeling too impatient Smile

ZylaB · 23/09/2014 15:58

Grats in selling the house la good news :)
