I love Salmon and have been eating my allowance since found out was pregnant as I also read the the oils etc in salmon help make the baby smarter :)

NotAQueef · 21/10/2014 16:00

Yes - baby's measurements were all around 3rd centile so hoping that sonographer measured wrong/growth spurt/or just small baby rather than anything sinister. this week is probably going to drag for both of us Wink

m33r · 21/10/2014 16:07

We shall keep each other sane nota . I have just discovered that my local private scanning place has half price scans on and have one slot left on Saturday. It would be three full days and 4 sleeps to my nhs scan. Think my DH will tell me where to go... Sad

I love it misty ! I've been appeased by booking a big fancy 4d package at Christmass time! Grin I also feel slightly better that my little raspberry is currently kicking hell outta me! Grin it puts me in such a good mood feeling the kicks!

fourmonthstogo · 21/10/2014 19:23

Where abouts are you mucho? I've been merrily eating salmon, smoked and other, and prawns, but trying to keep an eye on how much salmon I have per week.

I am taking a sensible but trying not to obsess approach to what I eat!

theonewiththenoisychild · 21/10/2014 19:42

hi everyone. will catch up later just marking my place.

i have been looking at prams the last few days. i had picked mine but now read some reviews that say its heavy and hard to push Sad as im having a c section (3rd one) i want something i can push with 1 hand. and parent facing. if i didnt want parent facing so much i would have got another baby jogger city mini. i have been looking at mammas and pappas sola2 in red. anyone seen this? what do you think? thinking of ordering it after my 20 week scan Grin

3isthemajicnumber · 21/10/2014 21:44

Just marking my spot again. I keep loosing you lot.
Not much happening my end.
I have a midwife appointment tomorrow as I need a bp check. Hopefully will get off all beta blockers.
Still hardly any movements here so looking forward to hearing the heartbeat tomorrow.

SurfsUp1 · 21/10/2014 22:02

Noisy
I just bought a Baby Jogger City Mini GT. The bassinet is rear facing so that was enough for me.

I ordered it from the US and it was about $200 cheaper than here even including the postage!!

Mucho where are you that they are anti salmon? What's the rationale for that?

lotsoftoast · 22/10/2014 06:01

Morning all

I'm thankfully feeling a lot better after a trip to oohs over the weekend for antibiotics - stupid bloody uti! Not nice.

On the countdown to our 20 week scan now, it's next Wednesday Smile

Boobie group today, playdate on Friday then back to normal with toddler groups next week - I hate that everything stops for the school holidays!

Oh I have just started looking at strollers as ther are sales this weekend with 40% off! I looked at baby jogger too surfs what made u go with that one? Any advice welcome! Are you getting capsule to go with it? I.e to make it a travel system?

What are thoughts in travel systems?

m33r · 22/10/2014 07:25

I think there a few of us in 20week scans next Wednesday. Will be a busy day!

We're probably getting the solvercross pioneer. Anyone had any experience of it: comments welcome?

SurfsUp1 · 22/10/2014 07:46

Rainbow555

The things I wanted in a pram were:

Car Seat adaptable - an absolute MUST IMO especially as we don't have off-street parking.
Rear-facing Bassinet adaptable - I got a 2nd hand compact bassinet which looks like new.
Proper off road capability (we have a farm) - the City GT has forever air tyres so should't get punctures plus it has great suspension.
Small folding - the GT blew all the other 3-wheelers out of the ball-park on that front!
Easy adjustment of seat back (after dealing with the nightmare that was my Phil & Ted) - the GT seemed really smooth.
Not black - summer in Sydney is too hot for a black pram and the GT had colour choices plus excellent ventilation.
Adjustable handle - DH is v tall.
Relatively small - I can't cope with an enormous Bugaboo sized thing.

The GT just matched all my needs better than the others I looked at.

I watched lots of youtube reviews and I spoke to lots of baby shops, gave them my main criteria and let them make their recommendation - they all recommended the GT.

Can't wait for it to arrive!! Grin

I just watched some youtube videos too, before seeing your post, it seems awesome and fits so many of the things I want! So car seat adaptable means it can have a car seat attached? Lots of ppl seem to say this is a good option.
The adjustable handle is a good bonus for us too.
It's not on special like the other I saw but probably worth the extra money for a good all rounder!
Thanks for the advice!

pinkandstripey · 22/10/2014 09:15

I would say car seat adaptable is one of the most important things in a buggy. Way more important than a cot/bassinet (yes, lie flat is good but they only fit it for about 3 months). Pretty much ever baby I've met sleeps in the car, you do not want to wake baby up by truns ..r. ferring them to go to tesco or whatever. Just my 2p :)

pinkandstripey · 22/10/2014 09:15

Transferring. Stupid phone.

SurfsUp1 · 22/10/2014 09:18

One thing they don't show you on any of the videos I saw, is that you can also completely remove the material from the seat just leaving the metal frame. Then you can put the bassinet or carseat on and make a pram rather than putting them on top of the seat, which is doable but somehow looks a bit messy?

SurfsUp1 · 22/10/2014 09:19

Totally agree Pink

Rainbow555 · 22/10/2014 09:53

Thanks pink for your advice too! That makes perfect sense and is something I have heard a few others say!
Wow surfs that is cool! Not seen it like that anywhere!! Looks more sleek like that how neat! Hmmm I am defo get more and more sold on that! Will now look at car seats and bassinets to go with it!
Thanks for the great help ladies :)

Gudgyx · 22/10/2014 09:54

I picked my travel system at about 13 weeks! We've ordered a Silvercross 3d Monodot. Car seat adaptable was the most important thing for me really, I'll prob use that more than anything else!

And, it was only 300 quid! For the full thing, pram, buggy, infant car seat and nappy bag.

Getting it delivered at the beginning of February, cant wait!

SurfsUp1 · 22/10/2014 09:56

Rainbow apparently there's a new adaptor coming out in early 2015 which will allow it to fit lots more car seats. I think I'll wait until then.
Gudgy nice bargain hunting! I like your efficiency!

persepolis123 · 22/10/2014 09:57

lotsoftoast I'm also next wednesday. I went shopping yesterday and saw the cutest little girl clothes. I was so tempted to buy them but don't want the upset of having to take them back if baby has grown bits between its legs in the last few weeks Grin

I've decided not to get a double pushchair. DS wants to walk everywhere anyway so I will just use the one we bought when we were having him which can be converted back into a pram. Don't think I would get sufficient use out of a double to justify the price tag.

SurfsUp1 · 22/10/2014 09:58

Just googled it Gudgy. If I was still in London I'd have chosen something like that. Compact and comfy. Similar to the Maclaren Techno XLR I had which I LOVED!

SurfsUp1 · 22/10/2014 10:00

persepolis123 I bought one and it was a total waste.
A buggy board was great though.

NotAQueef · 22/10/2014 10:11

We'll be using our Bugaboo Bee again this time round. Just need to get it serviced/cleaned so it is good as new.
I didn't use a car seat with it but didn't miss it - though I believe you can.
Parent facing, one handed push, easy to adjust, small, easy folding, light etc so perfect for us, but I realise not everyone's cup of tea

Would be nice to get a new pushchair but can't really justify the cost as ours is still fine
