Smoke I'm glad you are feeling better, MH-wise. Sorry you're starting to feel yucky physically though! I struggled in the first 12 weeks or so too, with anxiety and what I can only really describe as depression. I'm still off work, but think I'm starting to get there. I'm 14 weeks now and my medication has been increased twice in the past 3 weeks. I think I'm getting to the level that might be right for me now, and hoping to get back to work ASAP. Fingers crossed! I sometimes think it's only when it starts to lift that you realise how truly awful you have been feeling.

Rainbow I have had that exact same feeling. It's kind of like when you need the loo so badly that it hurts. When the cat steps on my lower abdomen it feels tender. Very odd, but reassuring to hear of someone else with the same feeling.

I have bought a couple of bits. We got our pram in the closing down sale at Kiddicare, and the car seat that makes it a travel system. My parents had offered to buy the pram and I was so shocked at the prices of some of them. They had the one we were thinking of getting anyway (Graco Evo) so we got a bargain. Have got a couple of cute outfits for the early days but that's it really. Planning on ordering big stuff after 20 weeks.

I am enjoying looking at names, but choosing them seems like such a huge responsibility! Added to the fact my husband hardly seems to like any of them...how on earth will we ever get there? A friend has suggested having 3 girl names and 3 boy names ready then choosing when baby arrives, but I can't see us agreeing on 6 names!

Really hope those feeling sick start to pick up soon. I agree that you are due chilled-out, easy babies. Not sure if I'm due a nightmare child due to my complete lack of sickness/nausea or if my anxiety struggle entitles me to an easy baby lol.

That baby box is amazing Durham. Wish I didn't have most of what I need otherwise I'd be wanting one!

M27J5M · 21/09/2014 17:54

Glad they're on top of it Durham Smile

Ive started buying stuff, got a great deal on bottles (5.50 for 6pack tommee tippee) got my steriliser, ordered my Moses basket yest as tesco have got them all on sales So only paid £63 instead of £160 :) still got my cot from last time

smokeandglitter · 21/09/2014 18:54

Glad you've been able to get up for a bit, Durham! Grin

Rainbow, yes have had it for weeks and get a lot of cramps in lower abdomen as well.

Coastergirl, glad your meds are about the right level. Mine can't be increased or changed really except to add haldol which I've vetoed unless I'm sectionable psychotic really. Have your CMHT been supportive? Mine are ok but we just completely disagree on certain things. My social worker who knew me really well left and I have a new one who is nice and all but just does not get me or my illness at all. Names wise I'm still gutted that my favourite boys name that I've had picked out for years has suddenly become so popular and I know I won't use it now. I hate over-used names and always have. I am enjoying looking though. Oh and you're entitled to an easy baby for mh struggles in pregnancy and before, as am I Wink (though I won't get one if it's anything like I was).

Haven't bought anything yet. Going to try and get some things through work if possible but if not will buy everything safely possible second hand due to money.

Location wise for anyone wondering, I'm South West London. Smile

Smoke I'm just under the GP at the moment. Was referred and had CBT for a year which made things worse, then just back to GP. It's been up to me to chase help when I've needed it. I am finding that that's changing now I'm pregnant though. Have been referred to both a consultant at the hospital re MH and the caseloading midwives team so that I will see the same one throughout, which should help. Even the midwife I saw briefly after my nuchal scan the other day wanted to check that I was being properly looked after MH-wise, and my GP is fantastic. Hope your new SW gets to know you better soon! I've had a bit of a nightmare with meds as I had to come off my old ones when I fell pregnant, tried going without for a bit which was a disaster, and was then put on something different. Actually finding the new medication better than the old though, it's just that whole process of finding the right dose and getting settled.

I'm going to go and have a look at this baby box thing now!

coastergirl · 21/09/2014 19:16

Oh and I'm in Southport. Anyone else around here?

theonewiththenoisychild · 21/09/2014 19:23

Slavetominidictator · 21/09/2014 21:06

Can I join in...? In answer to lotsof toast, no, we haven't all had scans. Mine is in the morning. I'm really getting nervous now, as have had a missed miscarriage previously which was discovered at 12 week scan. Have had my dd since then, so am trying to hold my nerve.
Am also a teacher - is everyone here?! And also have pretty bad MS, which has got worse this week, which seems ridiculous as I'm 13 weeks tomorrow.

Lizardc · 21/09/2014 21:37

Congrats Whosnicked and lovely to hear your positivity. What a lucky baby xx

Lifeisabeach · 22/09/2014 10:53

fourmonthstogo · 22/09/2014 11:15

Hi all, hope everyone is having a good Monday! Question for all you sling pros, I'd been thinking of getting a ergobaby but I found out at the weekend that baby can't face out on the front, which may rule it out for us as dd loved forward facing. Does anyone know of anything similar with good support that can be used facing in and out?

lotsoftoast · 22/09/2014 11:38

You can get an ergo 360 which can face out whilst still being ergonomic. The reason most ergonomic carriers don't face out is that babies hips are best supported facing in or in a back carry

I'm having a travel wobble. We are booked to fly to the US (California) for a road trip between the 11th-25th Oct. I will be between 20-23 weeks along and have been told by my midwife that I have low BP. She thought that was fine, no worry. But I didn't double check the flying factor.

Would you all travel long haul at 20-23 weeks with low BP?

Thanks.

Gudgyx · 22/09/2014 11:43

Hello ladies! Hope all is well today.

I'm feeling really guilty now about all you poor ladies suffering from MS :( I did have it pretty bad at about 7 weeks, but I didnt know I was pregnant then so the doctor diagnosed me over the phone as having norovirus. A week off work then and I was fine, a few times after that I felt myself rushing to the loo, but nothing like what you guys are suffering from. Hope you all feel better soon.

I'm now 16w 2d, and having a baby boy :) we found out at the gender scan on Saturday. Have started thinking of names, our 3 favourites just now are:

Leo
Levi
Luca

His surname will be Scott, so we think they all go rather well!

Started buying a couple of wee things on Saturday now we know he is a boy. Daddy bought him his first pair of shoes (I posted a pic on the fb group) and we got a few wee blue vests, baby grows, some bibs, scratch mits etc just the cute stuff I've been holding off buying! We had already got the pram/travel system that my mum and dad are buying, and picked our cot which my ILs are buying.

Currently trying to persuade my OH that we dont need to move right now :( I really dont want to, but he's not having it. He thinks we wont manage in a 1 bed, I disagree.

Men!!

coastergirl · 22/09/2014 11:52

Butterpuff I'm no expert, but the one thing I do know is what my GP told me about having low blood pressure a while ago. He said that although I get light-headed I have a lower risk of blood clots, heart attack, stroke etc., so less risk of DVT! So there is always that benefit. I think I would fly at that point, just be extra careful about moving around a lot and keeping hydrated etc. It's down to what you feel comfortable with though. Sounds like a great holiday!

kittenmamma · 22/09/2014 12:26

Ooh gudgy, I love Luca.

Gudgyx · 22/09/2014 12:49

Me too kittenmamma, think my OH prefers Leo right now but I just love Luca. I love Nico too, but its a bit of a mouthful when said with his surname. Suppose its just the same as Luca though mmm

fourmonthstogo · 22/09/2014 13:08

Thanks toast!

kittenmamma · 22/09/2014 13:11

I love them both with your surname gudgy, funny though as my best friends man us called nick and their first son is Lucas! Maybe they just go well together!

Butterpuff · 22/09/2014 13:23

Thanks Coaster I'm not usually a worrier just had a sudden panic that maybe we shouldn't be flying about enjoying ourselves but looking after bump. We move house in November too, and I work for the family business and have to sort out all of my maternity cover, which is not easy as I don't do a regular job but am a bit of a jack of all trades. Perhaps it is all just getting to panic time!

coastergirl · 22/09/2014 14:08

Butter if we had the cash I'd definitely be flying around enjoying myself before baby arrives lol. Although my idea of the perfect holiday would include lots of rollercoasters so I can't do that anyway! That does sound stressful with your work. Hope you get sorted soon. We moved in April so I know how stressful it can all be. Good luck!

I was just wondering if anyone knows the guidelines for weight gain during pregnancy for women who are already overweight? I'm 14+2 and haven't put on any weight so far, in fact I seem to have lost a few pounds! It's not due to sickness as I haven't had any, have eaten normally throughout. I'm pretty sure it's down to the improvement in my diet. I drank far too much wine prior to falling pregnant (it was my go-to when my anxiety was bad), so of course I've cut that out completely. I'm also finding I get full quickly and really don't fancy greasy foods, although I do seem to be eating a lot of chocolate. I'm hoping my lack of weight gain will be seen as a good thing considering I was already overweight. I've had a scan last week and everything is developing normally, in fact baby is measuring ahead of where it was expected to be, going off earlier scans. Anyone have any info on this?
