Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
largeginandtonic · 28/09/2006 13:34

To be honest mummymelling the last time a doc examined me i nearly lamped him one. I was early pregnant and he was feeling for the height of my fundus with dd as i did not have a clue bout my dates (id been bf) He pushed so hard and clearly had no clue what he was doing i thought i would mc. Am happy for a midwife to feel but docs make me nervous. Apparantly im not prg enough to be seen by a midwife aaaaaagh

Pebble shame you didnt say before i have sooooo many dressing up clothes (mine are obsessed)I could have mailed you one to borrow! Will think on it for you and get the twins to think too when they get back from school.

largeginandtonic · 28/09/2006 13:37

Do you have swords, belts etc.. You could make some paper armour and send him as handsome prince.

MKG · 28/09/2006 14:46

Is anybody else freezing all the time? It's just starting to get chilly here (New Jersey, USA). For some reason inside I am cold. While Ds crawls ont he floor I am on the floor in my warmest clothes under a comforter and still freezing. I feel Ds's forhead and he feels warm. Is it hormones? I don't know, but this has been happening for a few days now. I'm not sick. Maybe it's just my body changing. DH says the house is warm when I'm cold.

SKYTVADICT · 28/09/2006 15:04

MKG - I feel quite cold a lot of the time but I think it is related to tiredness.

I am sitting at my desk at the mo and could really do with a kip, can't stop yawning.

I also really really wanted a prawn sarnie from M&S at lunch time but had to choose a salmon one instead.

scootermum · 28/09/2006 15:06

MKG.Im really cold too.I have a jumper and tousers on and all the windows in my office shut even though I work with old people and the building is about 100 degrees.(the heating is never off).
Well hopefully the Dr will be accomodating re my scan.Feel quite nervous about it.Drs always make me nervous though, dont know why..
Dont work Fridays and am off to do some actual work now, so have a nice weekend all..

largeginandtonic · 28/09/2006 16:47

Hope it all goes well for you scootermum, nothing to be nervous about, docs are only people like you and me. I know what you mean though about them making you nervous, its daft but sometimes you just cant help it. Its people in power...

pebblemum · 28/09/2006 17:27

LG&T- panic over. Dh made me go to the shops with him, saying the fresh air would help the nausea. I ended up buying the Jack Sparrow costume from Woolworths (£16)It looks quite good on but i know that he will wear it tomorrow and that will be it, £16 for one days wear. I sent him round the neighbours in it just now complete with eyeliner and tache/goatee,he looked great, got a bit embarrassed though when he is friends came out and saw him

The nausea seems to have eased slightly and i got my appetite back for a bit. Roll on the second trimester when things seem so much better and we can start enjoying our pregnancies

largeginandtonic · 28/09/2006 22:21

Glad you have costume sorted pebble.
Am so tired am off to bed with my book, feel sick too and the longer i stay up the more i feel i have to eat to keep it at bay. Have been making baby name lists am i crazy?
Goodnight all

pebblemum · 28/09/2006 22:54

Im off to bed in a minute too. Im hoping that if i can get a good nights sleep that the nausea wont be as bad tomorrow. Ive been eating little bits now and again all night trying to keep it at bay but it has just started again which makes me think tiredness isnt helping. I almost fell asleep earlie when i was havig quiet time with ds2 before he went to bed I have really struggled with the nausea today, i didnt feel up to anything, i really hope it is better tomorrow.

mummymelling · 29/09/2006 09:26

largeginandtonic · 29/09/2006 10:05

Morning all, know what you mean mummymelling, it does drag this 1st bit. i am still feeling sick this morning yuk.
Have mil and fil coming to stay this weekend so am cleaning freak today. Dh also forgot to tell me it was his mums b day yest!! I know hes away but ohmigod, managed to bluff a bit and will give her a card later. Men, why do they forget these things?
Right off to scrub n hoover

SKYTVADICT · 29/09/2006 11:59

Morning all

Not feeling too bad today. A bit yukky but managing to eat a bit of what I fancy!

I can't wait until this 1st trimester is over either. Just need to know either way if its ok or not!

aprilmeadow · 29/09/2006 12:01

Morning ladies

No more bleeding thankfully and cramps have pretty much gone. Although i do panic at the slightest twinge now. Sick feeling is still hanging around just hoping that it pi**es off in 3 weeks time, or sooner if it likes!

Mummymelling, i know how you feel. I just want to see my little beanie and see its heart fluttering away and all the other cool things when you have a scan. I am fed up of people asking me if i am sure i am only 9wks and making all the usual 'twins' jokes! its not funny anymore!

Got my maternity exemption card through in the post yesterday so i am starting to feel more pregnant now Although i doubt i will get a chance t use it as i didnt need it all first time round and sods law the one time i needed a prescription was the week after it ran out!!!!

Hope the sickness is keeping a low profile for you all today. x

MKG · 29/09/2006 14:09

Ladies,

I know what you mean about not being able to wait. Yesterday I was about with dh looking at things we might need for the new baby (I'm not crazy, I just need a sense of prices, and necesities) I wanted to buy every piece of girly clothing I saw, I already know what she is coming home from the hospital in. I just have a feeling this one is a girl. I don't want to wait anymore. OH well only 14 more weeks until I can find out. I have my first scan in 13 days. I can't wait. Other than severe fatigue adn occasionally feeling like a human ice pop i don't have any symptoms. nausea has gone away. I sometimes thing that my bfp was a big fat joke. I'm scared that I'll get to the scan and they'll say, "there's nothing here". Dh is refusing to think that this is real until he hears a heartbeat. Sorry to ramble. I hope everyone is doing well.

pebblemum · 29/09/2006 17:17

MKG i feel the same. I keep thinking that somehow the BFP was false (i did 2 tests just to check). Apart from nausea and feeling a bit tired now and again i dont really feel pregnant, not that i want to suffer obviously. I still have a test in the cupboard and have to stop myself using it, ive promised my neighbour can have it as she has been ttc for over a year. I can just imagine having to tell everyone i made a mistake, how embarrassing that would be.

I shouldnt really be on here at the moment, we go away early Monday and i havent even packedIve still got lots of washing to do, my tumble dryer keeps packing up and whenever i hang washing out it rains. To top it all i heard today that my new kitchen is going to be started on the 9th so before we go away i have to try to empty the cupboards as much as i can so that when we get back all we have to do is remove all the big items like the fridge. I just cant seem to get motivated to do anything at the moment though. I need a kick up the bum i think

largeginandtonic · 29/09/2006 18:32

Oh but a shiny new kitchen will be sooo lovely pebble, dont envy you having to move stuff out though or packing come to that. Think i hate unpacking even more. When the tribe go to stay with ex he just shoves it all back in bags and i hate dealing with it, whats clean or not etc etc.

Am very tired after my day of cleaning, shopping and ferrying kids to and from school. Def done too much, feel so shattered now. Hope to have peaceful evening until the in laws arrive. They are lovely though and its the first time ive seen them since i found out im prg Now they will know what we have been doing...
Where is my dh when i need him.
Goodnight ladies and have a restful weekend if i dont manage to check in

pebblemum · 30/09/2006 14:27

Hope you are having a good weekend with the in-laws G&T. Im looking forward to having the new kitchen but its the hassle i could do without. I expect we will be living on microwave meals, salads etc until its finished as my kitchen is going to be totally gutted.

Not feeling too bad today, i think the busier i keep myself the less i seem to suffer.
Is anyone else finding that they can get to a certain time of day and then the tiredness strikes. For me it is about 2pm. I can be full of energy but as soon as the clock strikes 2pm i just want to lay down and sleep.

MKG · 30/09/2006 16:07

pebble

I usually fall apart around four or five. Yesterday i never was really awake. I walked around in a haze almost all day. Just went throught the motions. I'm tired just thinking about it. I worked on a registry yesterday. I think my favorite part of being pregnant is 1. getting presents and 2. shopping. Maybe I'll do some shopping. If it were up to me I would go buy all the cute clothes I can find today.

InTheseShoes · 30/09/2006 17:30

Well, I went to bed for two and a half hours this afternoon and despite the sleep, didn't feel any more refreshed when I got up! We are going to some friends for a long arranged dinner tonight, so I don't want to be conking out at 9pm. They do at least know I am pregnant, so I don't have to concoct a fib to explain tiredness/lack of wine etc

Roll on 2nd trimester when hopefully we'll all start feeling better!

NOredbullLOTSOFGAVISCON · 30/09/2006 17:33

hi everyone im just over 6 weeks pregnant and am feeling sooooooo sick and tired, im getting really silly keep on thinking that im not really pregnant need a proffesional to say yes redbull you are pregnant and then i will be happy, was like this with ds anyone else the same??

NOredbullLOTSOFGAVISCON · 30/09/2006 17:37

Thats how i feel MKG just need a doctor to examine me and say yes you are pregnant, also convinced when i get to the scan they will say there is nothing there, all i want is some one to confirm it, gosh im such a worry wart!!

MKG · 30/09/2006 18:04

Hey gals! I hope everyone is snug-a-bug in their beds resting. We only have 212+ days left to go! (Personally I have 236 days.)

I put a baby ticker on my desktop. If anyone wants to make and install one go to www.lilypie.com

It's free.

MKG · 30/09/2006 20:04

10 Reasons why I look forward to a May baby.
To cheer everyone up in these terrble beginning days.

  1. It will be warm enough to wear sandals so there will be no shoe laces to tie.
  1. It will be cool enough that I don't have to wear shorts and tank and have nasty pregnant self exposed to the world.
  1. It will be sunny which will encourage a speedy recovery to get out and enjoy the day (I pity those January moms stuck inside. Let's face it it's nice to throw the kid in a stroller and go even if it is just for 30 minutes.
  1. Don't have to worry about baby being born during cold and flu season. (Again, those poor January moms)
  1. There is a possiblity (however small) of being back into this years fall clothes for next fall. Wouldn't that be nice!
  1. The days are longer. So even though we may be very sad with crazy hormones at least we have more sunlight to look at (Again, those January moms, imagine sad and dark outside)
  1. There are no major holidays to prepare for, and by the time there are our children will hopefully be sleeping through the night so we will be rested and ready for anything (Poor December moms)
  1. We get to hide our "don't look pregnant yet but am not fat" bodies under big sweatshirts and sweaters because it will be cold most of our pregnancy
  1. We won't be too swollen from the terrible heat (Those poor August moms, I was one once, I know)
  1. Our babies are either going to be Taurus or Gemini. I don't know about taurus, but I'm a Gemini and I'm pretty cool.
largeginandtonic · 01/10/2006 11:13

Like your positive attitude mkg. I too have had babies at varying times of the year, 2 in july, 2 in oct, 1 in jan so this time i wanted one at easterish, i think it is the perfect time of year for a baby.
I feel very sick today, not enough sleeping the last 2 nights, it definately makes a difference. Am debating on taking the kids 2 mcdonalds. I did do roast chicken last night. Whats the toy at the mo, anyone know?

aprilmeadow · 01/10/2006 11:23

G&T i think it is really annoying 'music boxes' they sing 1 song over and over, and only a very small part of the song.
