You'll need smaller stuff. The nappies might be ok. If not, pampers do a micro size. The large supermarkets and mothercare stock them.

Mothercare does a tiny baby size, which would probably be right for Buglet if the predicted size is right. That's below newborn. C is only just in newborn/ up to one month stuff now she is over seven and a half pounds. I think boots also do a small size, as does john Lewis.

eurochick · 26/09/2014 06:53

On the handwashing, we haven't asked people to wash hands but most guests have done it automatically. It was probably a good thing at the start but less important now she is a bit more robust. None of them are smokers though. I have only seen one smoker friend since she was born and he didn't hold her.

Ooh it's all go bugs! Yes, insist on hand washing if it makes you comfortable. One thing I learnt after having a baby is you (and GP) have to choose what you feel is right and basically ignore what anyone and thinks!
Faithlet was 5lb 4oz but long (0.4th centile for weight, 75th for height!) so she fitted in newborn stuff from Tesco. Locally we only found tiny bum nappies in Boots.

Yup, 38+5 but rinky dink! I still get comments now about her being a 'little dot', some of her 12-18 month clothes don't fit yet and she's 17 months! She's always liked her milk/food though so I don't worry. Did you buy a sling? Might be worth having it to hand.

The caboo is going in the wash this morning. Will post on Monday. Pm me your address. I will send some newborn small size clothes if buglet is small. My kids wore them literally twice each as both are long and kitten has huge feet. In the meantime tesco newborn size is up to 7.5 pounds and comes up shortish so would be fine for a six pounder. Size 1 nappies ought to be OK but it depends on shape of legs and bum. Hospital will have prem nappies if you need a few.

katandkits · 26/09/2014 08:35

The up to 1 month size fits best from 7.5 to 9ish pounds depending on length of baby. Mine is average weight but has been in 3-6 sleepsuits since 9 weeks old!

FriendofDorothy · 26/09/2014 09:23

Ooo exciting!!!

37 weeks is a perfect time to have a baby! Not that I am biased or anything?!

katandkits · 26/09/2014 09:39

Are you allowed out bugs? I went on massive walks round the hospital grounds during the two days I was stuck there and I do believe gravity did help get her out easier. And it beats being stuck on the ward.

Good luck bugs!

TheOriginalWinkly · 26/09/2014 10:15

My epidural was the dog's bollocks :) hope that it all goes well. You'll be snuggling your baybee soon!

OP posts:
katandkits · 26/09/2014 10:44

Get it as soon as you need it. No point waiting for things to get really bad. Might as well be in comfort if you are strapped to bed. Eek this is exciting. Hope it happens before the day is out :) good luck!!

ALittleFaith · 26/09/2014 10:49

Wishing you a speedy labour bugs! Eek you're having a baybee! :)

SinkyMalinks · 26/09/2014 10:53

I wasn't allowed an epidural, but the remifentanyl pca (alternative hard drucks) was the dogs. Agree with others - don't wait till it's "bad". And keep drinking. I didn't and made myself quite poorly (well, that and the preeclampsia!)

SinkyMalinks · 26/09/2014 10:54

Oh, and...... Squeeeeee!

Fankletastic · 26/09/2014 10:56

Ooh exciting Bugs
Sending you sneezy thoughts and a giant lobster of luck

TheOriginalWinkly · 26/09/2014 11:01

Look how excited we all are Grin Feels like we should all be sitting in a circle knitting or something.

Oh and thanks Euro. So I guess the suspension on the vista is better than thr cruz as it's got bigger wheels? My concern is that it will just be too big and heavy (although I do like the idea of a sturdy pram and big basket and I thankfully don't have to negotiate london's public transport anymore- that would definitely necessitate a compact buggy). So has no one bought or looked at the silver cross pioneer? My mum went all doe-eyed when she saw it as it was a Silver Cross(!)

Thanks Frank for the offer of the kiddiecare discount- will see what they have in terms of buggies. I'm approaching 26 weeks now so it's probably ok to allow myself to think seriously about buying a few essentials. I ordered the snuzpod and discussed paint colours with MG for my office (soon to be baby's room). Shit's gettin' real! Still feels early to be buying stuff but I've noticed time seems to be going faster since I hit 22 weeks... (people keep doing countdowns to Christmas on Facebook and we all know how fast the X Factor and Strictly seasons pass) ...oh and I appear to be the next PESH after Bugs lays

Shiiiiit!

Cunty how are you? I really want more ESH on this fred so totally rooting for the BESH (if you're lurking) Smile

TheOriginalWinkly · 26/09/2014 11:15

fankle I have the Vista as well, in blue. Shite on public transport but brilliant everywhere else, and MiniWink goes in the Ergo for public transport. I've not known anyone to rate their Silver Cross prams, but I don't know what model they had.
