Babiecakes what happened at your 12 week scan? Did they give you an risk analysis etc for downs etc or was it just a case of a scan to have a look and see if you can see any issues? Sorry I have my 12 week-er on Monday next week and just curious what they take you through.

Wow! Pretty awesome to loose a few weeks at this stage Wherediparkmybroom! Stick around if you want to, that must put you right at the beginning of march though, right?

I had the triple test with ds1 and nuchal fold scan plus triple test with ds2 and both times results were sent in the post LindaLove. I assume had I been high risk I'd have had a call a bit earlier though.

Thanks everyone, yep now march 3rd! Bit of a shock...

BananaToast · 17/09/2014 16:07

Wow Wheredi that's exciting! I'm counting the days so would love to skip a few!

Lauren82000 · 17/09/2014 16:08

What can I do with myself, stuck at work by myself for another 2 hours no students in the library with me and I still have my headache from this morning. I'm tempted to nod off as I can't motivate myself to do find something to do and can't read my book with a headache. Just spent the last hour playing games on my phone. Shh don't tell my boss Blush

JeewizzJen · 17/09/2014 16:57

I've been suffering with a killer headache on and off for a couple of days now too Lauren. Yuck yuck yuck. And I have to work until 10.30 tonight

I can imagine that was a big shock Wheredidiparkmybroom!!! Good news though Smile

I'm pretty sure they're going to date me a few days back when I have my scan next week as my cycle is more like 30-32 days rather than 28 days. We shall see!

minipie · 17/09/2014 17:01

cinnamon more independent is good Grin

Gosh wheredi! congratulations on gaining 3 weeks Grin have fun on the march bus (though you're welcome to stay of course)

congratulations too Brixton on your offer being accepted, whereabouts is it (South London girl here)? Hope the mortgage people pull their fingers out, it always seems to be them that hold things up (in my small experience anyway).

I am definitely showing Blush - I'm quite small anyway and last time my bump was all out in front, I was huge by 34 weeks (when DD was born) so am going to be enormous if this one hopefully goes to term.

sazzle I would take someone along, but only if they are someone you are comfortable having there if it isn't great news. Chances are it will all be fine of course but just in case.

cinnamongreyhound · 17/09/2014 17:48

Are you happy to share your scan pics wherediparkmybroom and babiecakes11? I love a scan photo!

So sick of eating!! I feel like I need to eat all the time and don't really enjoy anything. Scan two weeks today!

I can't seem to enjoy hot meals cinnamon. Sandwiches etc are fine but anything hot makes me feel sick. Shame as I'm normally a total foodie ha Sad

I've been feeling stretchy/crampy at points yesterday and today. Hope it's nothing to worry about! :/

BrixtonBunny · 17/09/2014 18:36

Minipie it's in streatham, very close to norbury park and quite close to streatham common. It's only a two bedroom flat but it was either that or move even further out! Property prices are insane, unless you're v rich (which we're most definitely not!)

It's daunting the prospect of moving to a new area, but I'm sure we'll get used to it. I've been spoilt by Brixton!

Xx

AnniaFausta · 17/09/2014 19:25

cinnamon, my midwife said that high-risk results from the nuchal scan got a phone call the next day, and low-risk results were put in the post. So this is a case of no news is good news, I think.

I've got my scan next week... although I think I'll be called back as I don't think I'm as far along as they think I am ;)

Nunkie, I'm still waking up hot and toasty every morning... make a change from cold feet for me!

Thanks for all the thoughts on breastfeeding - as this is the first baby, I'm trying to keep an open mind but it's good to know when to give up if it ends up just not working for me.

Wow wherediparkmybroom! Wish I could fast forward 3 weeks overnight! If you do move over to the march bus do pop by and let us know how you're doing every so often.

Faced with my first 'do I, don't I tell them' dilemma... I'm a bridesmaid next July and will be +/-10weeks post partum at the wedding. She wants my measurements so that she can order my dress but how do I know how much baby weight I'll still have and whether my boobs will be ginormous from bf? Feel like I should make her aware but then again there's nothing either of us can do to predict how big I'll be.

In other news I'm still feeling sick as a dog and DD has grown horns and become a devil child Confused

Stuntman · 17/09/2014 19:32

I have gained 4 kg and put 2 inches on my waist! I'm going to be the size of a house by the end of this aren't I?

CareBearWithFangs · 17/09/2014 19:33

Just adding my twopence (is that a phrase?) on the nuchal scan stuff. My experience of it was that they tell you straight away. With us they measured the back of the neck, it was measuring high, they told us and we immediately saw a consultant. This was on the nhs, I can't think of any reason why they wouldn't tell you straight away. It would be absolute torture to leave the scan thinking everything was fine and then to find out a few days later by phone or post.

cinnamongreyhound · 17/09/2014 19:51

Here they do a combination of nuchal fold scan and triple test so I guess they want both results before giving your risk factor CarebearwithFangs but the measurement was written on my notes so if it was high I guess they may not wait for the blood test to say something?

OP posts:
CareBearWithFangs · 17/09/2014 20:07

When I had mine last time the appointment for the cvs came through before the blood tests results so we never actually found out what the blood tests results were. I really hope they would tell you straight away if the nuchal fold measurement was high.

littleluna89 · 17/09/2014 20:26

fizzy I would mention it and suggest a corset back dress for the bridesmaids, I was 7 months pregnant on my wedding day, we went for a corset back dress 2 sizes too big at the original selection fitting and the final fitting was 8 days before the wedding, shall hunt out some pictures.

minipie · 17/09/2014 20:39

Sounds great Brixton - Streatham Common is lovely. Though you will need a name change Grin

FizzyBubbly · 17/09/2014 21:14

Thanks for the suggestion littleluna, agree that corset back dresses are fab (my wedding dress had one too!) but unfortunately the dress has been picked and it's a zip up the back number. And I'm one of 5 BM's so there was always going to be one awkward one!

littleluna89 · 17/09/2014 21:29

ah :/ not so good. In that case I'd say air on the side of caution with some larger measurements and hope the seamstress can fit you in on a tight schedule?

I can't actually find any pictures of the backs of the dresses! However someone bought the dresses for me (because a wedding dress fit for a pregnant lady and a bridesmaid dress is a thing every woman needs cluttering up her wardrobe right?) So I'll dig them out and take some pics. I forgot just how much effort everyone went to to hide the baby bump, there is a grand total of 1 picture that has me in which doesn't have my stomach artfully covered with my flowers >.>

OVER HERE!!! Due April 2015
Hidingthefear · 17/09/2014 21:41

Just registered on Mumsnet after starting to read a pregnancy book, and saw this thread for people due in April so thought i'd say high.
I'm 10 weeks but my 10 week booking appointment is next week :( and still don't know when my scan is.
Anyone else feel like they are going to be nervous about the baby every day until he/she actually arrives? I think i'm just a worrier even though i don't really have any reason to be.

mswibble · 17/09/2014 23:13

wherediparkmybroom ooh you lucky thing jumping a few weeks ahead!

I know I shouldnt be but I am counting the days until this 1st trimester is over and I have the 12wk scan. Even though I had the early scan on Saturday and everything looked spot on, ive got to confess that im still anxious and convinced that something will go wrong in the next few weeks. Its irrational, and other than spend dosh I dont have on a scan every week, I've got to get a grip! hidingthefear I wish there was some kind of teletubby window that we could peer through and see what is happening!

Recent changes are - itchy skin, struggling to drink anything at all. Odd glass of fruit juice or milk, along with a few sips of water. Not good. Struggling to fill the car with petrol, the smell sets me off retching at the pumps! Boobs still sore and enormous!

Midwife appt tomorrow. V excited and hoping ill get the 12vwk scan booked for W/C 6th Oct.

8w 5days

JaneyTea · 18/09/2014 06:37

mrswibble & hidingthefear - I was thinking about this yesterday, how I wish there was a little window, like in an oven, just to check how the proverbial bun is getting on.....

8+2. These weeks until the scan could be the slowest ever. Angry
