I can't be the only one due in May 2015... So here goes, a shiny new thread.

I have to sneak in here to discuss all things pregnancy/baby related because this is a surprise DC5! Shhhh! Don't tell anyone!

OP posts:

HeyMicky · 15/09/2014 13:47

Biscuit and Purple, so sorry for your losses. Hope the next ones are sticky.

No nausea here, but I didn't have any in my first pregnancy either; fingers crossed it continues. I am waking up at half 4 every day, though, so am shattered.

Mittens, I had a family do at the weekend. I just had wine poured, then barely sipped at it and 'lost' it on a sideboard somewhere, plus DH had a few sly helpful slugs. No one really notices at a crowded dinner table. Soda and lime looks like a real drink if you can get it made for you quietly.

Thisisrock · 15/09/2014 13:54

Afternoon everyone. Thoughts to those going through the mill at the moment, thinking of you x

No sickness yet - little bit of queasiness every now and again but nothing to write home about so far. Awfully tired though and trying to not turn to the junk food to keep my going!

packed on the lbs big time the last two times I was pregnant and it took me a long time to get my body back into shape so I am trying to be fit, active and eat a very healthy diet this time now (not survive on takeaways!!!!)

Thepurplegiraffe · 15/09/2014 14:44

Hi all
Thanks for all your thoughts. I went to EPU today and they have confirmed that there is no longer any pregnancy but at least it seems to be a pretty straightforward m/c.
Just wanted to wish you all luck in your pregnancies and the future. Thank you for all your support!

Threesoundslikealot · 15/09/2014 14:47

So sorry, giraffe. I hope you're being looked after.

Thisisrock · 15/09/2014 14:58

Also am only 5+2 but my tummy is seriously rounded and I cant do up my trousers, not put on any weight anywhere really apart form my tummy - hubby looked at me over the weekend and told me that i couldn't wear tight tops or people would be able to tell!!

Thisisrock · 15/09/2014 14:59

Oh god terrible insensitive x post there Sad so sorry giraffe sending you lots of love x

Turquoisetamborine · 15/09/2014 15:37

So sorry Giraffe but glad it was relatively straightforward. Take care.

LinaDee · 15/09/2014 16:08

So sorry purple. Thinking of you. Glad it was straightforward. Hopefully see you on another bus in the near future. Best of luck

LinaDee · 15/09/2014 16:10

Thisisrock - i was exactly the same just after I found out. Terrible bloating! It has eased off a lot now, thank goodness. Hope yours does too

Ameilius · 15/09/2014 16:18

So sorry it wasn't good news giraffe, hope that next time comes quickly!

Still feeling nauseous here.. Although having read lots of comments here I realise I've actually got it very here (am not telling DHL this.. I'm really enjoying him treating me like a princess and doing more cooking). Also had no clue 'pregnancy rage' was even a thing until it start to hit! I've been really short tempered recently - it's nice to know it's not my fault (well it's it kinda I guess..) Smile

Totally know what you mean Lina and this - I feel a little like a balloon.. And am only wearing very forgiving dresses..

piglet81 · 15/09/2014 16:30

I have the rage too - bellowed at my poor husband yesterday for making too much noise getting pots and pans out of the cupboard! Shock

Sunshinesaz86 · 15/09/2014 17:04

soo sorry to hear that purple, take care and wishing you luck in future.

today i have had more AF type pains, ive been having them on and off since finding out but had to take paracetamol today as it was so strong, not long after my midwife phones to book my first appointment to ask how im feeling......i replied telling her about my pains, but said i'd heard they were relativley normal (looking for reassurance) only for her to take no notice whatsoever and go on talking about something else....hmmm not the best of starts if you ask me!

thisisrock i am also 5+2 and currently sat at my desk with my trouser zip fully undone (luckily i am in office on my own today) eeek i hope it calms down! if my twin sister jokes one more time about twins, she'll be feeling my rage! ha :)

BB01 · 15/09/2014 17:55

Purple I am so very sorry. Really hope you get a sticky bean soon if you decide to carry on TTC.

Sunshine that's a bit rubbish, hopefully she was distracted and will be better next time! Hope you feel better soon too. You could try your early pregnancy unit if worried and mw no good.

I am so emotional at the mo. I've just been blubbing away to a song that reminds me of DD being a newborn. She looked at me like I have three heads

Amaxapax · 15/09/2014 18:09

Hello! I just found out yesterday that I am pregnant with my first child. I'm only about four weeks, I suppose, so it is still early days and I feel quite nervous but hopeful. My EDD is 22 May.

I am a teacher as well and curious about what I will do if morning sickness kicks in, particularly as we would like to keep this quiet for as long as possible. I guess I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

Mostly I'm just bursting with excitement!

Sunshinesaz86 · 15/09/2014 18:20

Thanks BB1 I've spoke to the nurse since and she's asked me to go in tomoro just to check for urine infection but says it's very common so fingers crossed! Sorry your feeling a bit emotional today, I hope it's just hormones and that it passes.

Welcome amaxapax and congratulations. It is so exciting when u first find out isn't it?.......FX you'll be someone who bypasses the MS! Smile

piglet81 · 15/09/2014 20:15

Am I the only non-teacher in this thread? Grin Lots of teachers in both our families, to be fair!

Gingerbreadlady1 · 15/09/2014 20:24

Was thinking the same thing myself piglet, randy teachers Wink

BB01 · 15/09/2014 20:24

I'm not a teacher, Piglet!!

Amaxapax · 15/09/2014 20:27

Thanks, Sunshine! It is very exciting, but also so surreal. My husband and I went out to lunch after we found out and spent the whole time just kind of staring at each other!

Unfortunately, he's leaving on Monday to work abroad for at least a month, so here's hoping it all goes well without him.

fififolle · 15/09/2014 20:49

I'm not a teacher!

Congrats Amaxapax

Sunshinesaz86 · 15/09/2014 21:13

I'm also not a teacher Smile!

Aw that's a shame you'll be on your own amaxapax! I hope DH treats u on his return!

They'll be a high demand for supply teachers all over in may 2015 that's for sure! Grin

GinIsCalling · 15/09/2014 21:27

Hello all and congrats amaxapax
I have just been to the doctors for my first appointment. I'm in the US so they do things a little differently here.
I had a scan and saw the baby - a blob really at this point - and heard the heartbeat, 115 beats per min which she said was good. Impossible to tell much really, but glad to see I'm not imagining this. I've been weirdly worried about that, despite the copious pregnancy tests. Have a DVD now to show my husband - nothing really to see though.
They gave me prenatals and took a ton of blood to test iron, vitamins and for stds etc. And had a smear test and urine tests. Unfortunately had to run out and throw up half way through! So she also prescribed nausea tablets - I am not sure about them though - has anyone else got any? I am not going to take them unless it gets really bad. At the moment the nausea comes and goes and I feel better after I've thrown up.
That's it now until my next scan at 12 weeks, my dates have been adjusted slightly after that scan so I'm now due on May 11th. It's looking ahead a bit far but I also have to decide whether I want to deliver with midwives, under the ob/gyn, or just have a nurse/doctor. Last time I went with the nurse and had a good experience despite not opting for pain relief, but I'm intrigued by having a midwife as they stay with you all the time you are in labour rather than nipping in and out like the nurse. A great thing here is that you see the same doctor and nurse at every appointment and get their out of hours number in case of emergency. My doctor is Irish and used to be nhs so I trust her - She could deliver the baby so lots of choices to make!
But overall just relieved to see that tiny blob in there - had some bleeding over the weekend and was anxious. It's a v worrying time really, but nothing we can do.
Oh and I am so bloated as well, thisisrock - feel enormous!
