I can't be the only one due in May 2015... So here goes, a shiny new thread.

I have to sneak in here to discuss all things pregnancy/baby related because this is a surprise DC5! Shhhh! Don't tell anyone!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Fluffeh · 14/09/2014 09:47

Kitty, DD turns 2 at the end of April although she's a good little walker I wouldn't want her to be loose too much as she tends to run after dogs and other cute things.
Dp thinks a double is the only option whereas I'm hoping we can manage by carrying one of them in a sling.

CockBollocks · 14/09/2014 10:14

Rooibos tea tastes exactly like a lovely strong cuppa, without the caffeine.

fififolle · 14/09/2014 10:21

I've gone off tea completely- used to drink pints of it everyday! I'm just drinking green tea or water now.
I've got my booking appointment tomorrow morning so will report back afterwards.
Thinking of you Piglet and Purple.
Welcome to the newbies.

Ameilius · 14/09/2014 10:22

Thanks Lina (and I was so happy to read that it's all going well with your little bean - great news!). I just hope they give me an extra scan if it is too early. I'm in Norway and they don't even normally do scans before 18wks! I had to really act very 'panicky first time pregnant' (which tbh I am!) to get permission for one at 12wks.

And a second vote for Rooibos tea - it's almost the same! Smile

KittyVonCatsington · 14/09/2014 10:30

Another Rooibos tea drinker here! Although, I must confess I can generally only stomach water at the moment. Had a fizzy drink --caffeine free- on Friday and it played havoc with my insides!

Ah, Fluff, she might be just a little too small by May then. Decisions, decisions Grin

Woke up with my fanjo on fire this morning and strong nausea. Was fine last week! Feel a bit more human now at least Smile

I know I shouldn't be wishing this away, but part of me just wants to fast forward until baby is more established and safe!

Oh, and I got a booking letter from my midwife team for 4th Oct at my local hospital. I'll be about 10 weeks then. Just have to wait now!

Arendsmummy · 14/09/2014 11:22

Hi all still here i have horrendous sickness can't move have it from when i wake up in the morning till i go to sleep can't eat anything
Most times i vomit a lot in the morning then the rest of the day i feel like I'm going to it's really really bad can't go out clean or look after little one (7+1) Sad any suggestions to help with it?

Turquoisetamborine · 14/09/2014 11:28

Can only offer sympathy arendsmummy. I was only a little nauseous last pregnancy and nothing so far with this one. My SIL on the other hand was so bad she lost 3 stones in her first pregnancy. We tried all sorts with her and nothing worked. I hope yours isn't going to last very long. Have you got family help with your LO?

Blondie87 · 14/09/2014 13:48

Sorry to all those having a hard time for different reasons. I hope it all works out for you.

Has anyone else's sleep patterns changed? I used to sleep all through the night and wake up feeling tired as I never felt like I had enough! Now, I'm waking up to go to the loo and then completely wide awake in the middle of the night?! Feel quite energetic in the mornings but by evening wiped out!
Ameilius that must be hard being sick during lessons. As a teacher I'm trying to get all my work done at school so that weekends can be about down time but not quite managed that yet as I'm sat planning for lessons!

LinaDee · 14/09/2014 14:05

Blondie87 - I've been sleeping terribly recently. I would normally sleep right through the night but I'm finding it's so broken and I'm waking in the middle of the night, sometimes multiple times, with worries at the front of my mind. It's very annoying! I feel like I could sleep 100% of the time and can't wait to get to bed at night but just don't feel I'm getting quality sleep at all :(

aberjen · 14/09/2014 15:29

Hi ladies, can I join you? Expecting dc2 around 13 may, pretty much on dc1's 2nd birthday!

Feeling absolutely fine so far, which is a bit disconcerting as I had awful painful boobs the first time. I'm sure the nausea will kick in soon enough though...

Fingers and toes crossed for those having a bumpy ride so far

Sunshinesaz86 · 14/09/2014 16:19

Hi ladies, how's everyone today?

I've read hot water ginger, lemon and honey is supposed to be good for morning sickess arendsmummy don't know if it works but worth a try. Apparently it's the ginger that's supposed to help.

Welcome aberjen!

Blondie I've said the same waking up for a pee early hours then not being able to get to sleep after! Very annoying!

I'm pleased my AF type pains seem to have subsided but now my boobs have started to get painful instead! Swapped one symptom for another. Grin

Foetushost · 14/09/2014 16:22

Hello All

My due date for DC1 is 12 May 2015. I'm almost 6 weeks pregnant.

Sore boobs, felt nauseous twice but not in the morning.

Bought a pair of hand knitted booties! Smile

ThreeBeesInTheHive · 14/09/2014 16:57

I am sleeping really restlessly too. and wide awake early morning which is NOT like me haha Grin

BB01 · 14/09/2014 18:01

Really feel for people in jobs like teaching - how do you cope when feeling ill?! I struggle looking after a toddler but at least can lie down for five mins when she lets me!

Definitely struggling already with pregnancy insomnia, not helped by having a continually full bladder!

Can't remember if I already said up thread but I seemed to feel much better last pregnancy when I took ginger capsules and used sea bands. There is a study linked to on the Boots website which refers to studies showing the ginger can help.

BeanCalledPickle · 14/09/2014 18:08

One little tip for the bad sleepers; if you have bad morning sickness they prescribe promethazine. Promethazine is sold over the counter as Sominex, a sleeping aid. Although it says don't take in pregnancy it's fine, just that everything is marketed as not for pregnant women. So if you take it you don't feel sick and you sleep great.

SomeSortOfDeliciousBiscuit · 14/09/2014 19:19

Definitely all over for me. Thank you for all your kind thoughts. I said it upthread, but I am definitely one of the only women who are cheered by the words 'at least you know you can get pregnant!'.

I am still waiting for a callback from the midwife at the hospital and while I'm not looking forward to explaining I'm no longer pregnant, it will at least give me a chance to ask what I need to do to be seen early next time, for the tests I need.

Now I know I CAN get pregnant and that chemo didn't destroy everything, I shall be shagging with a vengeance and hopefully I'll get a sticky one before Christmas.

Good luck everyone. Smile

fififolle · 14/09/2014 19:26

Sorry to hear that Sunshine it was fantastic that you were able to get pregnant and you will do again. Enjoy all the shagging!! Grin

LinaDee · 14/09/2014 19:33

So sorry to see your news biscuit.
I hope this all happens for you very soon. Good luck

aberjen · 14/09/2014 19:36

plinkyplonks · 14/09/2014 19:43

Sunshinesaz86 · 14/09/2014 19:43

possumrach · 14/09/2014 19:46

Hi everyone, I'm wanting to join the discussion here too...
Due 09/05/2014, known about a week and got first doctor appointment tomorrow!

Sunshinesaz86 · 14/09/2014 20:17

Welcome and congratulations possumrach! Smile

CockBollocks · 14/09/2014 20:53

So sorry somesort good luck to you.

To the lovely people actually vomiting I believe ginger is not a great idea, think it burns on the way back.

Maybe rice cakes or crackers? Definitely go to doctors if your vomiting all morning.

Fluffeh · 14/09/2014 21:23

So sorry somesort xx

Welcome new bfp'rs.
All those with sickness I sympathise. I feel sick from waking until around 8pm. I only vomit if I eat wet food so I'm surviving on toast and biscuits but it's working so far.
I found a fab buggy board with seat in the USA but it's around £150 before customs charges so I'll have to think on whether it's just worth getting a double.
