I can't be the only one due in May 2015... So here goes, a shiny new thread.

I have to sneak in here to discuss all things pregnancy/baby related because this is a surprise DC5! Shhhh! Don't tell anyone!

OP posts:

HeyMicky · 08/09/2014 18:36

Tell whomever you like, Sunshine. Although will your mum keep the secret for you from your other sister?

It must be psychosomatic, as I only POASd on Sunday, but all my symptoms arrived at once today - nausea, tiredness, dry mouth, cramps, sore hips. At least my boobs have stopped hurting...

Sunshinesaz86 · 08/09/2014 18:53

Kitty I can see my mums side, and can see it's a bit harsh also, it's just I closer to my twin and I know she won't say anything! Did u spoil yourself and did they fall into your trolley??

Hey Micky, my mum wouldn't tell anyone yet as I've asked her not too so yes she would keep it to herself, it's just my other sister and certainly her hubby can't keep anything quiet!! And my symptoms all started on the same day too, nothing until the day I tested, then light cramps and peeing a lot couple of nausea waves but nothing too horrendous!

I'll have to keep thinking on the whole sister thing and just see what happens and how I feel at the time I guess! Roll on 12 weeks!

KittyVonCatsington · 08/09/2014 19:00

I might have purchased a certain anti stretch mark moisturiser...would be rude not to Sunshine Grin I second "Roll on 12 weeks" too!

Sunshinesaz86 · 08/09/2014 19:08

Good it's good to treat ourselves, may have to keep my eye out for that next asda run!

How's everyone's DP/DH acting, mines has cleaned the house today not let me do much bar polish, won't let me lift Hoover etc.....told me to get used to it, hahaa I certainly will get used to it!! Bless him, but extreme but very sweet too!!

KittyVonCatsington · 08/09/2014 19:15

Mine broke his arm three days after I ovulated Sad I've had to look after him! When his cast comes off, I will relish the favour being returned!

LinaDee · 08/09/2014 19:17

Thanks ladies.

I've told my sister and her DH but that's all so far. Really want to keep it until the 12 week scan. I don't want to be telling people "we are pregnant but don't get too excited"
I want to be able to tell people and celebrate, so we will definitely be waiting!

Sunshinesaz86 · 08/09/2014 19:18

Oh of course!! I did read that a while baby but totally forgot it was mrkitty! I hope he's on the mend now! And I'm sure he can't wait to look after and pamper u as soon as he can! When does his cast come off?

HeyMicky · 08/09/2014 19:24

DH has gone to Boston for a week so I'm on my own. I have given him a shopping list though as penance

meringue33 · 08/09/2014 19:27

Thanks Kitty!

It's a nightmare isn't it Giraffe. I had to go to osteopath today as had really hurt my neck from sleeping all cramped up between DH and giant toddler. I have told DH he has to step up and get DS back to his own bed from now on as I am in a delicate way and need my sleep Grin.

Not feeling too sicky this week tho last week was yuk. That's how I knew I was pregnant again. Was watching In the Thick of It and the shaky handheld camera thing nearly made me hurl!

Phoned the GP today and booked first MW appointment. It won't be until 30th Sep though. Hope I get a prompt scan, last time I had to wait til 14 weeks.

Ameilius · 08/09/2014 19:28

It's so hard having to wait to tell people! I really want to tell my mum and sisters - who I know wouldn't tell anyone, but we can't tell them without telling MIL and she'd just 'have to' tell her family who are the most active facebookers in the world and would be tagging us in statuses left, right, and centre.. Hmm Think we're just going to have to wait until the 12wk mark! Only like 6wks to wait... Smile

KittyVonCatsington · 08/09/2014 19:30

Quite right too HeyMicky!

I like the way you put it Lina - I'll be doing the same xx

His cast comes off in just less than three weeks Sunshine Grin Cannot wait!

silverpixie · 08/09/2014 19:35

So excited to be able to join this thread. Hopefully this will be our first baby. We've been trying for 5 months and I couldn't be more happy- but trying not to think its real until I've got to the 12 week mark. EDD 17th may. My husbands a musician and will be on your next spring to summer so have already checked what festivals are on around then!!! I'm going to try and not tell anyone until 12 weeks but going on holiday with my parents and my sister and her family ( she's due with her second in December!) in 2 weeks time and I know they will guess. I just know far too many people who miscarried so don't want to get my hopes up.
If I get to that point- def finding out the sex so I can't tailer the baby clothes I will make

Sunshinesaz86 · 08/09/2014 19:55

Welcome silverpixie, I hope u have a fab holiday and hopefully u won't get found out!

Amelius, it is hard isn't it! Everyone's different and so are our families and obviously we all have the same worry getting to the 12 week mark!

Another 3 weeks kitty, poor u and mrkitty hopefully those weeks will pas quickly and then you'll also be closer to the 12 week mark too!! Grin

That's rubbish your on your own for a bit heymicky! I hope your not feeling too delicate while on your own?

14 weeks meringue wow!! That's a long wait! I hope u don't have wait that long this time round, or anyone else for that matter!

Very exciting countdown to see our healthy sticky beans!!

Threesoundslikealot · 08/09/2014 20:29

Hello, new people!

I talked to the maternity support worker based with my midwives today. Booking in with them is not till mid-October. But she suggested I turn up to the scan date I've been given when I'll only be 9 weeks as apparently they'll still scan me and then call me back a couple of weeks later for the full check up. So I get an early scan out of it, and hopefully get some peace of mind. I feel a bit naughty but she reckoned I should go for it. So only four weeks till the scan. It will go slowly.

Thepurplegiraffe · 08/09/2014 20:43

Hope you can get that sorted Meringue, we definitely need our sleep. I am hoping our problems are down to teething and the fact that dd has been a bit under the weather and that she will get better. I hope. DH was away last week and now again this week so I am having to do those nights on my own which is a killer. He is doing alot when he is around though. Lucky I'm not sick yet.

Sunshine your OH sounds great. I think you should be able to tell who you like. I will be telling people as and when it feels right but 1 sister knows already and I know the other won't take it personally as I will tell her when I can. I am really worried about m/c but at the same time these are the people I would want to support me in the event of that happening.

4 weeks Three! That's fantastic

Sunshinesaz86 · 08/09/2014 20:54

Hi three, that sounds ok to be, two scans in the space of a few weeks, and like u said if it gives u leave of mind why not? That's what we all want and need so the sooner the better.

Thanks thepurplegiraffe (I chuckled a bit writing that name)......DP is an absolute diamond to be fair, sorry to hear your having a tough time with dd and u with ds meringue with teething and sleeping etc, that's one thing I cannot relate too (yet) as it will be our first! But hope they both settle down so u can enjoy your pgs and get the much needed rest at night!!

KittyVonCatsington · 08/09/2014 21:10

Goodness me! I'm really feeling it tonight. The occasional sharp sensation in my abdomen mixed with constipation is really annoying me! Am 6+2 and just hoping it's little lentil-bean getting snug Anyone else with the same?

Congratulations again silver - glad you made it over Grin

meringue33 · 08/09/2014 21:17

Thanks Sunshine and Giraffe! Fingers crossed for tonight.

Congrats Silverpixie!

Kitty I am already on a high fibre diet. Last time the constipation was worse than the childbirth. Much worse!!!

winnie1981 · 08/09/2014 21:23

Hello everyone! Wow such a busy bus!
We told mil, sis il and my dad. Waiting to tell people at work for as long as i can get away with it! Not holding out too much hope tho!

We had surprises for both dc's so I'd like another surprise (although I would like to think about finding out as we've not before.)

We definitely won't be making any 'big' announcements until we have had some tests done (we carry a genetic syndrome) and last time i was 19 weeks before we got the all clear.

Thepurplegiraffe · 08/09/2014 21:33

Fingers crossed for you on that Winnie.

I didn't have much choice about telling people at work last time as I was so sick it was glaringly obvious but hoping I can hold out a bit longer this time. I'm not even back until the end of the month.

Phantomquartz · 08/09/2014 22:16

Hello, may I also join? I tested 3 weeks+ at the end of last week. It has taken until now to get over the shock. We've been trying for a couple of years.

GinIsCalling · 09/09/2014 01:46

On the telling people front, I have told a few people - my boss at work, as I'm friendly with her and I need to cut some of my night shifts as totally exhausted. And a couple of friends who are pregnant. I'm trying not to tell anyone else but it is so hard as it is something on my mind a lot.
I have been having a few aches today so crossing my fingers that all is well. I think it will feel more real when I see a doctor. When do people normally see their doctor (or midwife) for the first time? By my appointment I'll be 7 weeks, so I suppose all they will do is confirm I'm pregnant and book a scan?

Turquoisetamborine · 09/09/2014 05:09

Giniscalling I don't think they even do a pregnancy test at the booking in appointment. It's changed since I had my son.
I'm having a beta test today to put my mind at rest. I'm not going to book in with the midwife until that is positive. I'm being superstitious!

KittyVonCatsington · 09/09/2014 06:35

Hi Phantom-great to have you join!

Thanks meringue -I've really suffered and feel very tender this morning. Might visit pharmacy on way home from work. I think it's all constipation related of course, but any pain makes me terrified of something sinister!

Hi Turqouise At my first appointment with the GP, he asked me to do a urine pregnancy test along with another urine test for "Cultures". I've also already had all of the initial blood tests at the GP but waiting for my first Midwife appointment that is held at a different centre. My GP mentioned something about Shared Care. It must be different with every surgery I suppose Grin

Have a lovely day ladies!

piglet81 · 09/09/2014 06:41

Is anyone else having strange, vivid dreams?! Don't know if that can be a pregnancy thing or if it's just coincidence but I've had a lot lately. Hmm
