I can't be the only one due in May 2015... So here goes, a shiny new thread.

I have to sneak in here to discuss all things pregnancy/baby related because this is a surprise DC5! Shhhh! Don't tell anyone!

WutheringFrights · 07/09/2014 21:02

Whoo hoo - I've just turned down a bowl of Angel delight (a guilty pleasure) because I feel nauseous!!! Never felt so relieved to feel sick!! It feels real now Grin
So who plans on finding out the sex? We've opted for a surprise the first two times and have one of each...going for a surprise again this time, we have enough clothes for either!

WutheringFrights · 07/09/2014 21:05

I took a photo of my clearblue this time, my previous two I did a cheapo test and they still show the positive line.....I probably shouldn't be storing 4 year old pee for posterity!!

Threesoundslikealot · 07/09/2014 21:07

I'm in the same boat as you, Wuthering. One of each already and a surprise both times. I can't imagine knowing before the birth after enjoying the mystery so much!

Thepurplegiraffe · 07/09/2014 21:22

I have done the same Wuthering I needed photographic evidence after the bfn the day before. Going to test again tomorrow to be sure.

We found out the sex last time but this time we have no idea what to do. Guess we have a while to decide.

fififolle · 07/09/2014 21:27

Kitty I completely agree! I checked my CB digital so many times on the day I tested, just to see the "pregnant 1-2" on it. Annoyingly it's blank now but haven't thrown it yet!

Royalsteph · 07/09/2014 21:52

Can I join? got my BFP on Friday. estimated due 15 may x

HeyMicky · 07/09/2014 22:08

We'll find out. We have a DD, I'd like a DS, either way we can make a decision about clothes to keep or give away

Rockinghorse123 · 08/09/2014 07:22

We found out with DS and probably will again. In theory I think it would be lovely to wait but I know I will get to the scan and I won't be able to help myself! Grin

Thepurplegiraffe · 08/09/2014 07:27

I will probably be exactly the same Rocking

BeanCalledPickle · 08/09/2014 07:51

I never understand how people have the patience to wait! We paid for an early gender scan last time as I couldn't stand to wait until the NHS scan.

So, mums of two, how does it work? I will have a 23 month age gap. DD normally in nursery three days a week and I'm thinking that I will keep that as I just don't know how people deal with a toddler and a new born when they've had a section? And when you are all downstairs quite how you manage to go to the loo?! And will I need a horrendous double buggy?!?

Threesoundslikealot · 08/09/2014 08:23

I had that gap. My eldest was in nursery three days a week and we kept that going. The first few weeks were a struggle, trying to entertain and care for a toddler while pinned down breastfeeding, but it got better. I used a sling and my existing buggy and it was fine.

BeanCalledPickle · 08/09/2014 09:49

That's good to know. Thought I might get a double Maclaren off eBay as a cheapie back up. No way I'm spending crazy amounts of money this time. First timers; you will not need half the stuff you buy! I spent a lot of time flogging stuff on eBay!

NoRoomForALittleOne · 08/09/2014 10:16

I had that gap too with DD1 and DD2. I would recommend getting a sling anyway. But we also had a Phil and Teds which worked out great until DD2 went in to a Pavlik harness for her hips. At that point we got a wider pram and a buggy board. The buggy board worked out well where we lived at the time. It really does depend on how much you walk and what you are pushing your pushchair over ie level vs hilly and cobbles vs Tarmac. Also consider if you are expecting to have a c-section, you may not want to have the baby in a sling to begin with.

CockBollocks · 08/09/2014 10:27

Wuthering i still have my BFP sticks from DS & DD, aged 8 & 5 Blush

I will probably find out the sex because we did before, we also got rid of all our baby stuff!!

fififolle · 08/09/2014 10:33

It looks like the May bus has another passenger...
Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge DC#2 EDD May??
What a great bus to be on!

BeanCalledPickle · 08/09/2014 10:37

Fifi where you getting that from?!?

Yeah I'm having a section definitely. Can't remember how long I waited to use sling last time. I think DH is going to have to take paternity leave plus annual leave until I can lift again!

fififolle · 08/09/2014 10:38

Bean they've just announced it, Sky news flash in phone and official monarchy site on fb. She's got hyperemesis again so presuming early announcement as per George hence saving a seat on out busy bus!

HeyMicky · 08/09/2014 11:19

She'll be earlier than May, won't she? She must be at least 13 weeks

HeyMicky · 08/09/2014 11:25

Ohm just seen they announced it early as she's so ill

BeanCalledPickle · 08/09/2014 11:59

Cannot think of anything worse than public scrutiny throughout my pregnancy. Though I guess they didn't sit down next week with a calculator and face the realisation that they will need ten grand extra to bridge the gap between DC2 starting nursery and DC1 starting school....

bumpitybumpbump · 08/09/2014 13:09

Great news Lina! Grin

meringue33 · 08/09/2014 13:09

Poor Kate, I'm surprised she wanted to do it again so soon!

Can I join ladies?? About six weeks gone, POAS on Friday! My sis was visiting so I've had to share the news with one other person besides DH as it was all too soon to keep quiet!

Am feeling v sorry for myself tho as completely exhausted, esp since 19mo DC1 is up every night at the moment and wanting to sleep with us.

Very hormonal too!

Thepurplegiraffe · 08/09/2014 14:44

Welcome Meringue and congratulations. I have told my sister too, DH was away before I got the result and needed someone to talk to.

I am having the same problem, my relatively good sleeping 10 month old has turned into a complete nightmare. And DH is away again. Talk about timing. I am just relieved the sickness hasn't set in yet. I had it bad last time.

Sunshinesaz86 · 08/09/2014 18:12

Hi ladies, well me and dp broke the news to our parents last night and they were all really pleased!!

I have two brothers and two sisters including my twin, and I'm really close to her and she has two DC already so I'd really like to tell her plus I see her two or three times a week, but my mum said it wouldn't be fair to tell her and not my other sister?? But her and her DH have big mouths so I'd prefer not to tell them until 12 week mark!

What do you ladies think? Do u think it's a bit unfair?

KittyVonCatsington · 08/09/2014 18:35

Oooooh, are we going to have a "bus-off" with the April thread??!! The papers are saying the Duchess is 'not at the 12 week stage' so if she's 6 weeks or less, she'll been on the May bus but 7 weeks or over, she'll be an April passenger! I know she was admitted to hospital at 5 weeks last time so she could be that early! Feel so bad she is suffering though. Come join us Kate! We'll keep you company!

Sunshine Not sure what to advise but telling anyone early and you run the risk of it spreading like wildfire. I do agree with your Mum though, sorry!

Welcome meringue! congratulations!

Did the weekly shop after work today and got a few sharp twinges. Hate that even small things send us into a blind panic! ASDA have a very nice Mum2Be range including stretch mark oil and shower creme. Any excuse to buy toiletries! Curled up on sofa now watching A Place In The Sun Grin
