I can't be the only one due in May 2015... So here goes, a shiny new thread.

I have to sneak in here to discuss all things pregnancy/baby related because this is a surprise DC5! Shhhh! Don't tell anyone!

Has anyone told anybody yet? I have told my close friends, as i would want them to support me in event of a mc.

Told my sister and she went on a long ramble about mc before saying congratulations. Think i'll keep it to myself now. Nothing like hearing "ok, but you might mc you know?" when sharing best news ever.

MaGratgarlik1983 · 02/09/2014 13:41

Hello everyone! Firstly, can I say how sorry I am Ididnt and thinking of you bumpity

I tested on Saturday with a faint BFP on a FRER, then tested again yesterday to a stronger FRER line and a CB digi positive :) Glad it's not just me who's worried about everything being fine. If all goes according to plan, EDD is 12th May. Had such tiredness lately and some nausea, sore bbs, amazingly sensitive sense of smell, and an overwhelming feeling of completeness :)

This will be our first DC and we haven't told anyone yet as my parents are on holiday and I want to tell everyone at the same time. Phoned to doctor today which made it seem more real!

Ameilius · 02/09/2014 14:24

Hi all!

Just found out a couple a days ago - it's my first pregnancy and it really doesn't feel real at all yet! Got my first midwife apt. on the 12th so I guess that will make it more real - agree with you MaG saying it out loud to the doctors made it more 'real'.

Not really had many symptoms yet (which slightly worries me..) I think even though being nauseous wouldn't be fun at all it would at least feel like a 'healthy' sign that things were going ok.. I have had quite a few dull cramps and sore boobs, plus I keep imagining that my sense of smell is getting better (but I think I'm just trying to find more symptoms..).

What a negative way to be 'congratulated' honeysuckle! Even if she is just trying to be supportive it's hardly what you want to hear! Think we'll be trying to wait until over 12wks.. As much as I keep wanting to tell literally everyone I meet! Smile

BeanCalledPickle · 02/09/2014 15:17

Last time I more or less waited until the scan before telling people. I think this time I will be a bit less hung up on it. I think mainly because if it did go wrong then I'd need help and support. But in any event I will get myself through to 8 weeks before telling people if I can. Last time I had no idea how painful it can be, would be wracked with cramps and permanently on edge. At least now I know to expect that! I'm also going to try and have fewer scans. As well as the standard we paid for an eight week, a gender scan at 16, and a 3d at 32 weeks! Scan tastic:-)

KittyVonCatsington · 02/09/2014 16:49

ididn't and bumpity I am so very sorry you are going through hell and my thoughts are with you both Thanks

KittyVonCatsington · 02/09/2014 16:53

Got my "Pregnant 3+" today! Has made me a little less anxious for a few days at least until my panic sets in again

Really good to see you MaGrat and v pleased your line is getting darker!

Love the word "scan-tastic" Bean Grin

I've told my GP (doctor not grandparents!) and my Pilates Instructor and DH obviously Grin Just have this "don't want to jinx it" irrationality going on.

May 2015: Hello! Anyone out there?
KittyVonCatsington · 02/09/2014 17:03

Aurelia Welcome! I worry when I have symptoms and then worry during the times when I don't Smile

honeysucklejasmine · 02/09/2014 17:20

I'm finding that if i sit with my legs under me or my knees up then i get slight cramps. Just me?

KittyVonCatsington · 02/09/2014 17:33

No, not just you honey Smile In fact, when I am in bed, I've been finding I don't get as much pain if I lie on my left side but not my right. Go figure!

bumpitybumpbump · 02/09/2014 18:29

Hi everyone, thanks so much for the kind messages. The good news this end is that I haven't had anymore bleeding or any cramping, but I saw the gp today and whilst she said it was impossible to know and has sent me for a scan on thurs, she definitely had a "don't get your hopes up" sympathy face on. Tbh I just want to know either way now so I can (a) get excited again or (b) pour myself a large gin. In any event I am so warmed by all of your excitement on this thread. The highs are definitely worth the risk of the lows! Will update on thurs hopefully with good news.... Xx

congratulations to the new ladies, can't believe there are so many of us on the list already!! (thanks for the updated list fifi) :-)

NoRoomForALittleOne · 02/09/2014 20:08

Ooooo, yes, thanks for the updated list. I've been really struggling with terrible nausea today. I'm bracing myself for the dreaded HG (Hyperemesis Gravidarum) to descend again but still hoping that it won't. Does anyone else have heartburn to go along with the nausea? I'm tempted to book an appointment with the GP in about a week's time in case I'm terrible with sickness again.

OP posts:
plinkyplonks · 02/09/2014 20:16

bumpitybumpbump Thanks for the update! Fingers crossed for Thursday xx

Kitty - Thanks for the reminder!! Did my final CB test today, was getting worried as symptoms have disappeared - but got a 3 week plus (FINALLY, thank God!!) result too :D So unbelievably happy. Still, 22 days until midwife appointment. Feels like that is so far away :(

Welcome aboard newbies :D

fififolle · 02/09/2014 20:24

You're welcome!
No heartburn here NoRoom but I have had minor indigestion. What's bothering me more is a staking cold and word throat with no medicine allowed :-(.
I have my first mw appt on Fri, I thought that I was phoning a bit too so for it but apparently they want to get scan booked at the correct times.
FYI Kitty I did the normal CB pg test yesterday and got a lovely big cross...which I keep going back to look at Grin

Haily111 · 02/09/2014 20:34

Sending huggles to bumpitybump.

I have sort of told a few people even tho my other half asked me not to Hmm. I really struggle with things like this.

The thing i am slightly nervous about is i am visiting family tomorrow in Germany. The last time i did i took valium to travel (via the tunnel) as i suffer from panic attacks. Obviously i cant take anything this time x

lp2014 · 02/09/2014 20:47

Hi everyone!

Bumpity- sending good thoughts your way. Stay positive. Xx

lp2014 · 02/09/2014 20:48

This will be our first baby. I am seeing the doctor on the 23 September. Not sure what to expect xx

winnie1981 · 02/09/2014 20:52

Hi all,

Just got my BFP this morning and I think EDD 13th May!

Lets keep up the positive vibes through the nausea!!

So a little about me...... 33, cycle 3 of ttc. Have a DD who will be 2 on 25th Sept, and DS (became a star) in 2007 (aged 2).

Apprehensive, excited and a little shocked all at the same time! Shock

fififolle · 02/09/2014 20:53

It seems that my cold has impaired my spelling! It should read 'stinking cold and sore throat'' ...all improved by my beautiful bouquet of flowers delivered this pm from DH to celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary.
From what I remember my first mw appt with DS was height, weight, BP and gen health questions.

honeysucklejasmine · 02/09/2014 20:55

Congratulations to the new BFP recipients! Smile

Thanks for the list fifi. Small change... This is our first DC. Grin

I haven't had sickness yet but omg my bowels are not happy. Will have to go with bread and gruel until i know what's causing it!
